And the word of the day is: STENOSIS!
Just hope one day some thirty year old young man doesn't come to the door who is the spitting image of you and says, "Hello,Dad!"
I am confused DR Cillaliz. What does "fu" mean? I've never heard that word/term before. So I wouldn't ask if the person who sent it was mad. I'd be like "i have no idea what that means!"
I loved The Drowsy Chaperone, DR Druxy. Good old-fashioned musical.
This afternoon, Richard and I are going to visit the First Ladies National Historic Site (http://www.nps.gov/fila/index.htm). He's beside himself with excitement.

I was right about my stupid misunderstanding. He emailed in response to my apology and the misunderstanding has been cleared up with no harm done. I'm glad about that
DR Cillaliz, yep that clears it up!
I guess i've never seen it written before only spoken!
Of course, one of the biggest laughs in The Odd Couple is:
Oscar (to Felix) "You leave me little notes on my pillow. I told you a hundred times, I can't stand little notes on my pillow. 'We're all out of Corn Flakes. F.U.' It took me three hours to figure out that F.U. was Felix Ungar."
A laugh that literally stopped the show at the Huntington Hartford.
I first saw THE ODD COUPLE at Melodyland with Ernest Borgnine and Don Rickles.

I won't be sending u email ;)
Hello, everyone! I am back from Oz with a big hug and kiss for DR Ginny and Richard for being such great friends. I think my talk went okay, I met some great people, and I had a wonderful weekend. The flight back was easy and pleasant; i sat with my new friend Jonathan McDevitt, a very talented young man who played the Scarecrow and walked away with the show. He and the Tin Man were a hoot and the audience loved them.
DR Jane (or anything else) have you read any books by Lisa Gardner? I saw the book "the neighbor" at costco and it looked interesting. And there is another book in that series coming out this month "live to tell".
I usher downtown quite a bit and many times when I take tickets, people recognize me and I have absolutely NO idea who they are. There are a couple of older women who are friends of my dad and somehow they act like they know me, but I don't know if I ever actually met them...other than them recognizing me when I usher.
Good Morning!
I'm happy to report that all went well at the wedding "near Buffalo." No trampling occurred, DREdisaurus! Thanks for the laugh!

I look at people, sometimes for years on end, when I'm editing them. Then when I finally meet them they seem so familiar that I feel like they should know me to. And they're all like: "Who the hell are you"?

To answer DR Ginny's question, I got back to the hotel from last night's cast party around 2 am and I was awakened at 8 am. I'm ready for a nap, I do believe.

DR Elmore - did you see the current tour or was it a different production? I saw the tour last November and really enjoyed it

our new Pastor is very nice but he is having some trouble folowing our order odf service - today the Vixter was scheduled to read the "Adult" lesson (in the summer we have 2 lessons read a children's lesson and an Adult lesson) and as the introductory hymn was finishing up and she was getting ready to walk up to the pulpit he stood up -moseyed over to the front of the alter and started his semon
the Vixter & looked at each other - she just shrugged and sat back down
Poor Pastor nearly every person who shook his hand as they exited teh church mentioned his error to him - we bypassed the line and went right to coffeehour - but Pastor came and sought her out to apologize to her -
while he was doing so someone else stopped by to mention his error to him = the Vixter called out - "Cut the guy some slack - he's new!"
Pastor "The Guy" Justin seemed most amused
I took a little nap and then I unpacked. I just had some Chinese food for dinner, and I expect I'll be in bed around nine tonight.
DRCillaliz, this was the first hearing in probably 60-70 years of the 1903 version of THE WIZARD OF OZ. Characters include Imogen, Dorothy's cow; Pastoria, rightful ruler of Oz; Tryxie Tryfle, his waitress girlfriend; and it bears as much relationship to the original book as I do.
Any suggestions for something that may be good if the food ends up being served outside in the heat?

Fruit pastries handle weather well. Peaches and Blueberries are in season.
Perhaps a crisp or a cobbler?

Perky Breasts was out there today again.
Did anyone see Dispacable Me this weekend? I'm thinking about going to see it this week
Perky Breasts was out there today again.
Tell us that you don't love it.
Yesterday, when we were driving around, I navigated Richard to make a left turn and it didn't take long for all of us to suspect, from the direction of the parking stripes, that we were going the wrong way on a one-way street. Nope, we soon saw this sign and many such markings on many downtown Canton streets:
Place still looks like a mess, though.

I read one of her books once: my cousin gave it to me to read. I read it in maybe two sittings, it was quite compelling, but for the life of me I couldn't tell you the name of that book. . .

now she has some friends over I cookd some burgers and dogs for them on the grill and now the kids are all in the pool
Place still looks like a mess, though.
Please, call it "homey".

After the show, DR Elmore chatted with a cast member in front of the theater:
Has anyone seen the play Throne of Blood? It will be opening at our festival soon. Keith's cousin is coming for a visit and we have tickets for one play, American Night, to see her clients perform. Her second play choice is Ruined which at this moment is sold out. Now we are deciding between Twelfth Night at the outdoor theater or Throne of Blood.
After the show, DR Elmore chatted with a cast member in front of the theater:
I wish I'd known to suck in some of that gut!
DR Elmore also signed autographs for the Oz groupies:NICE!!!

Perky Breasts and her rich boyfriend ("I love you, babe" he shouted to her - they really talk loud over there) are part of a generation of the worst exhibitionists I've ever witnessed.
And what was the generation of the best exhibitionists you've ever witnesses?

No, but you would be amazed what you can see on Google Earth.
Remeber everyone, that tomorrow isCILLA'S BIRTHDAY(which, of course, is a state holiday in Washington)
I just put the finish on four wooden doors. I looked at the first one to see a hundred gnats glueing themselves to the still-sticky finish.
It sounds like a curse: May you be cursed by a hundred gnats glueing themselves to your newly finished doors.
we are watching the Poirot on PBS
Well, I had better get to bed. I have to rest up for all the traditional events on CILLA DAY.
The Cantelope Eating Contest
The Dunk the Lawyer Booth
and in the evening.... The Verbal Fireworks

I assume we aren't talking about the Japanese film.

SHHHHHHH!!! Jane will hear you!!
Watched a kind of nifty movie. THE NIGHT HOLDS TERROR (1955). Stars Jack Kelly, Vince Edwards, JOhn Cassavetes, and Hildy Parks.
I really like Jack Kelly. A writer friend of mine is working on Kelly's biography. I look very forward to reading it.

Joining out of nowhere. Haven't been on for a few days. Today was Benjamin Kritzer Day. I've just begun reading BK's books, starting at the beginning. I finished "Benjamin Kritzer: A Novel." As soon as I finished it I started "Kritzerland." Lot's of laughs and a touch of sentimentality. Since I am 5 years older than Bruce, I very much ;)relate to these two books. Now I'm watching the news...like so much fish. :)
we are watching the Poirot on PBS
We are very disappointed in this version.
JohnG, yes Betty Kean sings and dances in MURDER IN THE BLUE ROOM. She plays part of a threesome known as THE 3 JAZZYBELLES. They are the comedy relief of the picture (June Preisser and Grace McDonald are the other two). When my mother moved to the States, she came through New York on her way to Alabama. She saw one Broadway show, "Ankles Aweigh," with the Keans. I think her sister, Jane, is the one who introduced "Winter Was Warm" in "Magoo's Christmas Carol."
And I love that you know who Betty Kean is! I think she is hilarious!
I don't want texture.
Edi - on the 4th you were talking about an asparagus recipe, I think. Would you share the recipe?

I remember seeing this when I was a kid. Great thriller.
I wish it was on DVD.

http://www.culinate.com/content/3295/Sesame+Noodles+with+Asparagus+Tips
Tips: It's better with small, tender asparagus
When you pull apart the noodles (I used Ramen) do it in a bag, like a grocery store bag. Otherwise they fly all over the place!
This recipe serves A LOT...more than they say it will, especially if you're taking it to a pot luck.
Happy Birthday (tomorrow) Cilla!
Happy Birthday Eve, Cillaliz!
We were hoping for our first monsoon storm tonight. Sigh.
Perky Breasts was out there today again.
Today, I'm going to help my friend Margo move some furniture from her dad's house in Everett to her home here in Olympia. Evidently, he and his wife are moving to a much smaller house and they've saved some stuff for Margo. We also have to get a chair for her sister.
Hopefully, it'll only take a few hours. Today is also my sister's boyfriend's birthday, which I totally forgot about. :o We're meeting for dinner later in the evening. I thought it was next weekend, otherwise I wouldn't have agreed to help Margo move furniture, but she said that we should be back in town in time for dinner.
I loved The Drowsy Chaperone, DR Druxy. Good old-fashioned musical.

I've also had that same fear.
