Well, you've read the notes, the notes had a liberal dose of PH1, and now it is time for you to post until the alarming cows come home.

Good morning, all! For reasons known only to my subconscious, my dream last night was about Nanette Fabray and the musical ARMS AND THE GIRL. God knows why but I haven't the slightest.

Tonight I have dinner with Val my Barnes & Noble friend, and I have the day to deal with other things, such as "My Heart Is So Full Of You" and some Victor Herbert notes.

Ron and Dona Raines are off to the Berkshires today around 11 am to see Charlotte, so he's stopping by this morning with the CDs he did not drop off yesterday; he had an audition for THE GOOD WIFE and the Roundabout ANYTHING GOES, I believe. I'll give him Dona's birthday gift since they won't be around tomorrow.

TOD: my first romantic crush was Sherry Caine, who lived up the street.  At age 10 or so, she was quite pretty, quite a bitch, and quite horrid to me. I must admit, though, that at age 10, I was no catch, and some things never change.

Dreams of Nanette Fabray, DR Elmore? I don't think I've ever dreamed of her, though I love her singing in "Make a Wish."

I, too, had a version of Sherry Caine. Her name was Melanie S. (can't remember the last name correctly) and in seventh grade I was smitten. I was also laughed at and ridiculed by her and our classmates alike. Love's true course never did run smooth.

Is living with love the greatest koan of all?

Yesterday DR Vixmom wrote re: getting a GPS:
Quote
Vixdad was talking about getting one for me for my birthday  - I never saw the use for one - but on MOnday I had to go to a closing in Westchester county and one of my co-workers insisted I use her  GPS -  well it was so nice having this lady telling me where to turn - and I got there and back very easily --

the only thing I didn't like was that it did noyt speak the street names  just said turn in 1/4 mile mile  turn  right now .. etc -
Iunderstand that soome of them  willsay turn right on Maple  Avenue....

and soem allow you to choose the voice that will talk to you

On Friday the Vixfamily will embark on a little 4 day trip to the great state of Pennsylvania  to visit the Sweetest Place ob Earth....

I thought perhaps since Radio Shack is having a GPS sale we should stop in there on Friday morning and pick one up

My sister just got one and she really likes it. But you are right. Some (even the newer ones) do not say the name of the street, which is obviously helpful.

Also, she had to return her first one becasue it did not explain the route beforehand. She likes to be able to see her whole route including street hnames ahead of time.

I think if you get one tha you like it can be amazing. They can reroute you if you have to go a different way. I would think that you would like it very much.

DR Vixmom re: the GPS. Yes they will allow you to pick the voice. BUT, not really. There are only one or two voices that are programmed with ALL the info (street names...)

Thanks to everyone for the thoughts.  Much appreciated.

I will be leaving in a bit for the viewing/service and trek to the Cloverdale Cemetery.  THEN over to Vickie's for awhile.....and then out to the theatre to sell tickets for the opening night of BYE BYE BIRDIE.....and then after the show clean up the auditorium.

I love days like this.....in 96 degree heat.....NOT!

How wonderful to be so blessed:

 ::)   From Mrs. Susan Wong

Dearest in the Lord,

My greetings in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, how are you and your entire ministry, I hope you are doing well. I received your contact information from a Christian website. It is true that we are just knowing each other for the first time, but I strongly believe that God has made it possible.

Please, I want you to give this message your urgent attention and get back to me so that I can give you more information on this. It is by the grace of God that I received Christ, having known the truth, I had no choice than to do what is right and just in the sight of God and man. I thank God for His Mercies, grace and glory upon my life.

Before I give you more information, let me officially introduce myself to you. My name is Mrs Susan Wong, I was married to the late Mr Hector Wong who worked with Cape Verde Embassy in Cote d'Ivoire for nine years before he died in the year 2005. We were married for Sixteen years without a child. He finally came back to Cote d'Ivoire to establish an export company after his retirement. He died after a brief illness that lasted for only four days. After his death, I could no longer manage the exporting company because of my critical health condition.

Before his death we were both born again Christians and we loved God. Since after his death I decided not to remarry or get a child outside my matrimonial home which the Bible is against. When my late husband was alive, he deposited the total sum of US$7,500,000.00 in one of the prime bank here in the country.

The reason why I contacted you is because you are a Christian (servant of God) and I want to donate the money to you because of my health condition. Recently, my Doctor told me that I would not last for the next Eight months due to cancer problem. The one that disturbs me most is my stroke sickness. Having known my condition, I decided to donate this fund to a church, organization like yours or a Christian that will utilize this money the way I am going to instruct herein. I want a church or a Christian that will use this fund for orphanages, widows, charity organizations, NGO anywhere in the World in helping human race and propagating the word of God and to endeavour that the house of God is maintained and to promote the gospel. You can also use part of it to build hospital, schools and houses to rent out to the poor and homeless people at a cheaper cost. I want you to use the money to glorify the name of God.

The Bible made us to understand that "Blessed is the hand that gives”. I took this decision because I don't have any child that will inherit this money and my husband relatives are not Christians and I don't want my husband's efforts to be used by unbelievers and misused. This is why I am taking this decision to donate the money to you because I know that you are a Christian. I am not afraid of death hence I know where I am going. I want you to stand as my next of kin and co-beneficiary to receive the money.

I know that I am going to be in the bosom of the Lord. Exodus 14 VS 14 says that "the lord will fight my case and I shall hold my peace". I want the money to be transferred to your account as soon as possible because of my health condition.

When my late husband deposited the fund, he used my name as the next of kin. All I have to do is to sign an authorization letter in your name as my co-beneficiary and also instruct the bank to transfer the money to you.

As soon as I receive your reply, I shall give you more details on how the money will be transferred to you.

I want you to always put me in your daily prayer. My happiness is that I lived a life of a worthy Christian. I will send you more information when I receive your response. Let me hear from you urgently.

Remain blessed in the Lord.
Yours in Christ
Mrs Susan Wong.

Thursday morning greetings!  We've been to Dayton and back and I've been examined by the nurse at Miami Valley Cardiologists.  She says my "entry sites" are doing fine and we discussed some other issues, like the itchy skin I've been having.  Could be an allergic reaction to one of the new meds, but we're just going to keep an eye on it.  I now have an appointment scheduled with Dr. Jain, a week from Monday.  Apparently, he's off all next week, which he richly deserves.  He appeared to me last week to be quite the workaholic.

Now I'm ready for a nap...

Hiya, kidz!

Just flew in yesterday, and I always feel a surge of energy and joy on getting back to LA. Had some time with my cousin Tina - whom we moved out of the assisted living facility and into her own townhouse... now we have found a 'room mate' - actually a 'companion' - who will be moving in by Labor Day. Fingers x'd that this will work out for awhile. I'm taking Tina for a psychiatric evaluation on Tuesday, so more finger-crossing we can get her officially diagnosed and MEDICATED!!! before said companion moves in, has three good days, and then discovers that everything we have told her is TRUE. They got on like a house afire last Saturday, apparently -- and Lynne assumed we were all just poison-coating the reality. Ummmm, no....

And while I'm in town, we're doing a reading of the 4-actor version of my solo show at Rogue Machine Theatre on Sunday afternoon at 4 pm. If it goes well, it moves into the pile of plays being considered for next season. Though I played this version of the play at the Mae West Fest in Seattle back in 2003, and have played the solo show many places during the past 10 - count 'em- 10 years, I've never done it in LA. So - this would be so awesomely great a homecoming.

I've been packing my books and doing the grueling repairs to the cabin, to get it ready to sell. Leaving paradise... just too inconvenient, any more, to be up there for months at a time, when I have so much work here in LA. Leaving, grieving, letting go...

Hey everybody.  Still waiting on one more test to see what this reoccurring "revenge" might be.  I'm thinking it's a form of the stomach flu.  One of the tests didn't find any bacteria, which is good, but a lot of white blood cells, which to me seems to say INFECTION.  I should know more today or tomorrow.  Other than that, things just keep moving on.

TOD:

My first crush was Miss Roseanne, the young and lovelyl brunette 3rd grade teacher I admired from afar during my 1st and 2nd grade years.  Her smile, her laugh--the way she wore that dark maroon sweater when she came out to gather her students in the schoolyard each morning.  Her effervescence was a beacon of light compared to the stony personalities of the crotchety, old, withered, and just plain mean nuns I had to deal with as my teachers.  I daily hoped and prayed that I would get to be in her 3rd grade class.  And I thought that my dreams had been fulfilled when I did indeed get her into her class.  But those dreams rapidly evaporated as I soon discovered that she was actually quite bitchy.

My very first "crush" was on one Miss Vangie Holmes, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Holmes.  Vangie had two of the most beautiful pony tails (are they pony tails when they are two instead of one?).  I was in 1st, 2nd and 3rd grade with Miss Vangie Holmes.   I saw her again while I was at Myrtle Beach SC with some cousins one summer while I was in college.  She had grown.  Gone were the pony tails.  Instead, she was a princess who did not remember me despite her mother's protestations that she "had to."

Never mind.  Miss Holmes, I've learned, has been through at least four very rich husbands and is now ruling over some clique in Charleston SC.

My first "romantic crush" was in 7th grade.  Her name was Aloma Douana Perscilla Culpepper.  You may ask how I remember this.   None of your beeswax!

I've been on the phone for over an hour, being a Kritzerland mogul, and I've just locked about about nine titles for future releases - these have all been out before as limited editions from other labels, but in consultation with my big online dealer, we've ascertained there's enough sales left in them to go for another 1000.  All of them should do well, and I'm sure many of you dear readers didn't even know of their existence before they sold out - and one of them is one of my five favorite film scores ever written so that I was going to do no matter what, just to have it available again.

My first crush was Mickey Dolenz, from The Monkees, followed by Harry Nilsson. After that I graduated to *real* boys!

My best friend was in love with Monkee Davy, so that worked out well. One time we even wrote love letters to ourselves and pretended they were from our favorite Monkees. A little embarrassing but hey, we were in 6th grade!

Mickey came to Atlanta a few weeks ago and even though it had been decades since he'd held any interest for me, I still like the music of The Monkees, and the Turtles and some other 60's groups that were on the bill. Mickey's sister came out and sang a duet with him (she had sung backup on some of their records). It turns out she sings in a church right down the street from my mom. Who knew? I was very excited to tell my mom about this, but she proclaimed that the Unity Church wasn't a real "Christian" church and they didn't believe in anything. They even had books by "shudder" Shirley MacLaine in their bookstore!

The real surprise on the bill was Mark Lindsay, former lead singer of Paul Revere and the Raiders. He had the energy of a 20 year old (a far cry from when I saw him a few years ago). Don't know what he's taking, but I want some. He was great!

I can't remember my first crush, there were so many.  I had to have been four or five.  My first boyfriend was in kindergarten.  He was an older boy in first grade.

Listening to another show that could use a good remix or at least I'd like to hear what the masters sound like because I've never heard distortion like this on vocal - almost all of them are on the verge of breaking up.  I'm trying to ascertain when and if the license on this title is up for the company that put it out.  All I know is the three-track session masters are in the inventory along with the 35mm full coat originals - although I doubt those could be used.  But who knows.  This may have been the only show recorded in that format, but the current CD was definitely not taken from either the 35mm or the three-tracks, at least as far as I can tell.

Even though it's not ask bk day, I wondered if you have ever heard of an actor named Max Hartman, who performs a nightclub act in LA under the name Max Vontaine?

http://www.maxvontaine.com

I met him at the Stony Brook Film Festival; he did a terrific turn in FIVE STAR DAY, which won the jury prize there. (We weren't in competition!) I'm hoping to come out to LA for our JEWS AND BASEBALL open and want to try and catch his act, either in Pasadena or Redondo. He does a great Sinatra and was such a nice guy!

There's a cute little ipod thingy on his website with some of his songs. He's in Texas doing a play right now but will be back by the time we open and hopes to come see the film. He really wanted to do musical theatre but ended up creating this act so he could make a living. It made me wonder what he might be like doing that. Ever heard of him?

I just got a message from the Diplomat of My Consignment!

Good Morning!!,

I have been in your country since 3am at George Bush Intercontinental/Houston Airport (IAH), Houston, Texas port of entry at the North side of Houston, Texas with my partner and have been so busy with the Custom Authorities here at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, having done extensively on this assignment towards carrying out the delivery of Consignment to your doorstep without further delay or sanctions whatsoever.

In consequent to this, I have been required by the authority to sign some vital documentation in respect of your Consignment as the code of precedence in line with Diplomatic delivery directives.

So I advise that you verify/Re-confirm your current residential address to me, and also tell me the nearest Airport to your home to avoid mistake, because as soon as I clear this problems with the custom authorities and sign some paper works I will be heading to your home address by tomorrow Evening.

I am very busy now at the Custom Authority Office here at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, as soon as am through speaking with the head of the Authorities I will give you a call, so I advised that you keep your mobile phone open for easy communications,

Finally. I will be oblige to ensure that your package is delivered to you as soon as I settle this issue with the Customs, and also do not contact any other person apart from me the Diplomat of your Consignment.

Once again, thanks for helping me serve you better.

Yours Faithfully.

I just whipped up a batch of Heloise's No-Salt Spice Substitute:

5 teaspoons onion powder
1 tablespoon garlic powder
1 tablespoon paprika
1 tablespoon dry mustard
1 teaspoon thyme
1/2 teaspoon white pepper
1/2 teaspoon celery seeds

Mix all ingredients and put in an airtight container, like an old spice jar.  Don't store this or any spice near the stove; the heat cancause the flavor to diminish.

This was in our local paper yesterday, quite timely for me.  It's worth a try.

I Need Help From You.

My name is Sgt.Mark Connell, I am an American soldier with Swiss background, serving in the military with the army's 3rd infantry division. With a very desperate need for assistance, I have summed up courage to contact you. I found your contact particulars in an address journal. I am seeking your kind assistance to move the sum of ( $ 25 Million U.S. Dollars ) Twenty Five Million United State Dollars to you, as far as  I can be assured that my share will be safe in your care until I complete my service here, this is no stolen money, and there are no danger involved.

Source Of Money:

Some money in various currencies was discovered in barrels at a farmhouse near one of Saddam's old palaces in Tikrit-Iraq during a rescue operation, and it was agreed by staff Sgt Kenneth buff and I agreed that some part of this money be shared among both of us before informing anybody about it, since both of us saw the money first. This was quite an illegal thing to do, but I tell you what? No compensation can make up for the risk we have taken with our lives in this hell hole. Of which my brother in-law was killed by a road side bomb last week.

The above figure was given to me as my share, and to conceal this kind of money became a problem for me, so with the help of a British contact working here and his office enjoy some immunity, I was able to get the package out to a safe location entirely out of trouble spot. he does  not know the real contents of the package, and believes that it belongs to a British/American medical doctor who died in a raid here in Iraq, and before giving up, trusted me to hand over the package to his family.

Now this is where you come in, if you are willing to assist me in this transaction, the money has been packed as family valuables and it will be delivered to you in your country in two days, if you are willing to assist me in this venture you are advised to get back to me with your complete contact information which will be forwarded to the diplomat who is carrying the said consignment. He will contact you on your direct phone number from your international airport, after that the consignment will proceed to your home which is the final destination, note that it is not a must that you should assist me in this transaction but if you are willing and sincere to help me out in this transaction be rest assured that this transaction is 100% risk free and it does not contradict the laws of any country.

Indicate your interest in assisting me as well as Providing the following information to facilitate the smooth conclusion of the Transaction:

1) Your Full Name: ------------------------------------------
2) Your Address: ---------------------------------------------
3) Your Telephone Number: ---------------------------
4) Your Mobile Number: --------------------------------------
5) Your Fax Number: ---------------------------------
6) The Name of the Closest Airport to your City of
Residence: ------------------------------------------------------

One passionate appeal I will make to you is not to discuss this matter with anybody, should you have reasons to reject this offer, please and please destroy this message as any leakage of this information will be too bad for us soldier? here in Iraq. I do not know how long we will remain here, and i have been shot, wounded and survived two suicide bomb attacks by the special grace of  God, this and other reasons i will mention later has prompted me to reach out for help, i honestly want this matter to be resolved immediately, please contact me as soon as possible my only way of communication email.I Also want you to tell me how much you will take from this money for the assistance you will give to me.

I'm really hungry right now - only had a sandwich today, and some junk sweets - none of it too caloric.  These are the times I wish I actually had friends who were not stick in the muds and who liked to just go grab a snack or something.  It's so dullsville around here.  Or to have a significant other to go have a late-night snack with.  One could always count on the Pogues back in the day, but now there's no one.
