Ben, when's your D.C. weekend for FOLLIES?
And the word of the day is: ANADROMOUS!
I've been making pumpkin oatmeal. I always make oatmeal with milk. Then I added a couple spoons of canned pumpkin and some cinnamon sugar and pecans.
Looking forward to seeing BK and other HHW gang members next weekend!!
I am happy to report the new issue of Jewish Review has a nice article with the headline:
TV ICON BRUCE KIMMEL AT RAVE IN THE NAVE
We had a bit of a scare yesterday when my nephew Daniel, who has been going through chemo, had to go to the hospital because he was having trouble breathing and was coughing up blood.
Thankfully it turned out the blood was not coming from his lungs but from the back of his throat...evidently his coughing had caused that.
He is back home now, and the doctors are even thinking that he might not need to go through his final round of chemo, for which I know Daniel will be very happy about. He is eager to get back to normal and to get back to work.
TOD: Pimento Cheese. I wrote about it a week or so ago. Have been making it for weeks. Can't get enough. My Southern grandmother made Pimento cheese. I didn't like it as a little kid but discovered its appeal a few years later. I've never had any that tasted like hers since. I miss that particular taste.

Doris Day fans, she is giving a very rare interview to be broadcast at 1:30pm New York time on
WNYC Radio (http://www.wnyc.org/)
It's on the FM station and it will stream live. Jonathan Schwartz will conduct the interview. The program is on now (from 12 noon to 4pm). Make sure 93.9 is highlighted and then click listen now. A new window will open and the program will begin.
Again, the Doris Day interview will take place at 1:30 Eastern Standard Time on WNYC Radio 93.9FM.
I don't know if it will be available on the Web site after the program is over. It's not the iPlayer so I'm not familiar with their scheduling.

Ben, when's your D.C. weekend for FOLLIES?
Don't know the exact dates yet. A friend who lives in DC is planning the adventure. She's a member/subscriber so I think she gets an early shot at tickets. We will know more in January, I think.

Apparently, Kritzerland is in Variety today.
Thanks for the continued Unemployment Insurance vibes.
Vibes for DR MBarnum's nephew Daniel!Ditto.
that's because everybody makes it just a little bit differently from everyone else. I had a friend e-mail her recipe, which calls for New Orleans-style olive salad. Will be trying that next.TOD: Pimento Cheese. I wrote about it a week or so ago. Have been making it for weeks. Can't get enough. My Southern grandmother made Pimento cheese. I left for about 1 1/2 hours and came home. I walked in the door and it was silent. Oh, oh....then one by one the three cats came up the basement stairs. All alive and all in one piece. Not friends but all alive. This is a very good sign. Lots of vocalizing from Boo, but that's ok. Ricky backs down immediately, so he's accepting his place in the pecking order. Another very good sign
I really enjoyed hearing Doris Day-she sure doesn't sound like she's 86! I'd like to meet her some time and tell her how much I've enjoyed her music and movies over the years.
DR elmore--all your talk about organizing and cleaning has motivated me to do the same!Am too tired today to get motivated to do the same. My Pilates class took it out of me. But I would like someone else who's motivated to come clean my mess.
I just got up. It's going to be a long week at work starting Monday. I may have to work later than I usually do this Friday because our deadline is Friday November 5th but I'll still be there to see Dear Amy's film.

I don't know what we will have for dinner. We will eat around 6pm after Beverley. Maybe just some soup. We ate dinner out last night (our usual Friday night date) at one of our favorite places, Lasagna, and we both ate too much. I had chicken with porcini mushrooms and Anthony had spinach fettuccine with artichokes in a pink sauce. We then had dessert which we don't usually do. I had Tiramisu and Anthony had pumpkin cheesecake. It was a nice way to break in the cool fall weather.I like Ant's dinner. :)

Chicken & rice is in the oven and I've been watching Iowa demolish Michigan State. DR Cillaliz, is it as warm in Iowa as the people in short sleeves make it look?
Here's a direct link to the BBC iPlayer with Beverley's show and my review of La Cage. It's about 32 minutes into the show. Beverley plays a clip from Phantom (with Sara Brightman and Cliff Richard) and then introduces me.

Amy, we will probably be able to get to the 6:30 show. I prefer that one anyway. I'm gettin' to be an old man and a movie at 8:20 sounds late to me ;)
Thanks for the original link, DR BEN.

I am watching Titanic on TBS. Haven't seen it in a while. Don't know if I'll watch the whole thing, but it's fun to see

Thanks for posting this link Jack. I recorded it but because it was streaming live on my computer it cut out for a few seconds three times. Now I have the entire thing. I thought it was a great interview and she's still amazing at 86.
Vibes for DR JANE......
The last of the trick or treaters have gone.....we had lots of fairy princesses, a few Supermans - including a set of twins - a few Harry Potters...and lots of Shreks and Buzz Lightyears.....BUT what we had most was PIRATES!!!!

I may watch the 1953 version.....seeing the exhibit this week sparked the interest again. And though I give credit to Mr Walter Lord and A Night to Remember.....my two favorite Titanic books are Maiden Voyage by Geoffrey Marcus and The Titanic: End of a Dream by Wyn Craig Wade.
Ricky seems to adore Callie, she has tolerated him
I hope that it's not freezing tomorrow night for Halloween. I'm already expecting it to be cold. I will have to bundle up.
My niece wants to be a hula dancer. So today I called her and asked her if she wanted me to be one too with her. And she said yes. So I got a hula skirt. And already have my necklaces. I will need a flower for my hair.
Of course outdoor costumes are different here. You have to make room for your winter coat underneath.

Some cities are doing Halloween early this year. I read it's so it won't conflict with Sunday Night football.

A hula costume over a coat must be funny. The coldest Halloween I can remember was the year Keith took the kids & I stayed home. It just happened that way. :)
Luckily there is no school here on Monday for my niece. Although some malls are dong indoor trick or treating during the day. That sounds appealing!

As it is everybody is fighting to stay home with the baby (too cold for her to go out). Usually people would be fighting to go out.
Oh I love the first snow and can't wait for it.

Now that I have somewhat recovered from my travels I can no longer put off beginning the first of my two years of nightly injections to build bone. I sure could use some vibes this doesn't make me ill. Nausea is one of the main side effects, dizziness the other. Needless to say I'm somewhat nervous about them.
I love the photos Cilla!
I press on in my YouTube campaign to give Doris the Oscar that Jean-Luc Godard doesn't seem to want
