Safe travels, bk!
Morning all.
I'm looking forward to the next fews day for relaxation and sleep. I don't have pain but I'm sore and sitting down and getting up puts pressure on the spot so I have to be careful how I move, otherwise all is progressing well.
* * * * * Speedy but relaxed recovery vibes for DR Ben * * * * *
* * * * * FRIENDLY SKIES VIBES FOR BK * * * * *Ditto!
And the word of the day is: FACTOTUM!
Laproscopic surgery. I have a highly bruised navel and two other entry/exit points which are covered with bandages at this point. I can't get them wet for two days so I shall have sponge baths for the time being.
I think I managed to get three hours of sleep which is better than no hours of sleep. At the airport gift shop I got some Afrin, as recommended, and just squirted two shots in each nostril and hopefully that will help for the next twelve hours.

Good morning, DR Ben! I'm glad you got through the night okay. I think Anthony and I were both a bit worried that you had come home too early.

For those of you who would like to order it early, Sondheim's second book, Look, I Made a Hat: Collected Lyrics (1981-2011) with Attendant Comments, Amplifications, Dogmas, Harangues, Wafflings, Diversions and Anecdotes (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/030759341X/ref=oss_product), is available for pre-order on Amazon. (It ships in October.)Looks like he is ignoring the non-Broadway stuff in his career, or at least the title suggests that since "Evening Primrose," to cite just one example, is before that. Wonder if "Singing Out Loud" will be included, too.
BK, am so glad the Linda and Greg show went well....I am so looking forward to Linda's show in April...wish Greg was going to be part of it...I would very much enjoy hearing him sing...actually, just looking at him would likely be enjoyable...but with singing, doubly so.He's done some albums on the LML label.
There will be a guy with Linda at her show in Salem, but I am not familiar with him. Len Lessack is his name.

And what about the single songs, like the stuff he added to "Hot Shot" or "The Boy From ..." from "The Mad Show"? And the early pre-Broadway shows, several songs of which have now been recorded?Looks like he is ignoring the non-Broadway stuff in his career, or at least the title suggests that since "Evening Primrose," to cite just one example, is before that.
Volume I (p 323) states: "...volume two in the chapters on Sunday in the Park With George and Evening Primrose.

I'm home, safe and sound and also sound and safe. And tiiiiired. And trying to catch up on Kritzerland stuff.
Tonight my Mother and I are going to see the documentary RISE: 1961, about the plane crash that took the lives of the entire US figure skating team and the legacy that created opportunities for many contemporary skaters. Richard will drive us and view some other movie of his choice at the multiplex.

LML Music is an independent label dedicated to distributing the finest in Cabaret, Jazz and Broadway vocals. All of the artists on LML have produced their own recordings; some independently and others with the incredible support of their friends and fans. Here you will discover some of the most incredible and heartfelt voices you shall ever experience.
Founded in 1995 by award-winning recording artist Lee Lessack, LML now distributes for over 65 vocalists in the US & Canada. We have also recently signed distribution deals in Australia, Ireland and the United Kingdom. In addition we have expanded our catalogue to include some of the finest LIVE concert recordings produced by the Actors’ Fund of America and the S.T.A.G.E. organization. In 2004 LML also signed distribution deals with two other boutique labels, Midder Music and Ducy Lee....
Very cool! I hope to see it....can you buy a DVD yet? Will we be able to do that in the future?
End of March or early April--you can preorder on Amazon...lots of people already have!

Well, my co-worker, Ken (who has Fridays off) told our other co-worker that I was going to be taking Friday off. She flipped out and said that she was not going to get stuck working alone. So, she got her leave slip in early, and approved, so I guess I will be going to work tomorrow no matter what.
I got home early this afternoon. I had to go to see my doctor this morning so that he could slice open my armpit. Yes indeed, it is the return of not one, but two MRSA attacks. Both of them in my right armpit. I had planned to have this procedure today, and then I was going to take tomorrow off, so that I would have five days off in a row to heal (and not to have to worry about not using deoderant on one side of my body).

I'm home, safe and sound and also sound and safe. And tiiiiired. And trying to catch up on Kritzerland stuff. And I have to say the Mac Mail program is really irritating me - every time I go and then come back it takes a bloody hour for it to figure things out - you delete stuff and it pops right back up - it won't send, it just sits there like so much annoying fish.
That is the last time you mention taking off until your time is approved! What a shame. Since you will be working alone you still don't need to use deodorant.
Tell her you would like to know if you are making a mistake, please.

So the fact that you have a medical condition doesn't allow you to take time off, regardless of who else is working or not?? I mean, what would happen if someone called in sick that morning? What could/would they do?
And speaking of my boss, his cousin, Steve Tanenbaum, who was killed by the New York slasher; was apparently the leading expert in Civil War tokens. I don't eactly know what they are, but he was very well respected in that field.

Oh I could call in and say that I wasn't coming in, and nobody would probably care. But as I said, being available for our social workers is a courtesy thatweI like to extend. I will see how I am feeling at 4:00 a.m. At the moment the numbing agent is wearing off and it is starting to burn.

I don't know what I will do. If it hurts like this tomorrow morning, I am not sure that I can wear a shirt all day.
Seriously, DR TCB, if you are in pain tomorrow, stay home. If things get crazy, sell the obnoxious woman down the river since her actions were purely selfish and rude.

She is kind of a wack-job anyway. If the weatherman says there is a possibility of snow showers, she stays home. When we had our minor little snow storm around Thanksgiving, she stayed home for four days. When 9-11 happened, she stayed home for a week. She said she was terrified that our building was going to be blown up. I told her, "Oh yeah, that is how these terrorists operate. First the World Trade Center and the Pentagon; and the next day the Social & Helath Services building in Tacoma, WA. It is all part of their giant plan!"
She didn't speak to me for a month.

I hope you get the old Edith back soon. It doesn't make sense not to let you know if you make a mistake unless you are, which obviously you are not, the sort of person who doesn't want to be told. Mistakes have the potential to hurt your clients. Does she understand this?
