I was thinking (I know oh-oh) where down the line did Bambi become a a female name? Usually Bambi is a Bimbo. So did some writer accidently meant write Bimbo instead of Bambi and Bambi stuck as a name?

Thanks DR VIXMOM - I did call the director Yenta yesterday....we had a turn-down from someone I am happy NOT to work with, and there is another inquiry out - so we shall see.

THERE ARE TOO MANY BORED CHILDREN IN THIS SHOW.  Some of them are interested in being there, others stand around talking to each other and not listening and then asking where they are supposed to be - or going the wrong way.

And I don't have much confidence in the choreographer - but then I am not in any of the dance numbers anyway....so we shall see.  I think it will be okay....

Good morning, all! I am praying to God that that invoice payment arrives today because I have bills to pay by the end of the month. On every invoice I go through this unnecessary hell and, as soon as I think the issue is resolved for good, I'm back to living for a week or more on less than $20. It's hell. I think all that's left in the apartment is peanut butter and jelly.

And while I'm bitching about money, my brothers - who treated my approaching a raltor with scorn - have contacted a friend of theirs who is (surprise!) a realtor, and now the Ohio property is supposedly listed. I want to sell that damned land and get my butt out of Ohio real estate and the Macbeths' clutches. I hope this realtor is not as big a fool as I consider the Macbeths to be.

So, it's Good Friday, and I think I have to watch this weekend THE LONG GOOD FRIDAY, one of my favorite films. Thatbrings us to the YOD:
DVD:  there's one Netflix item here, LO(NG GOOD FRIDAY, and I've got a couple of oprys.
CD:  Unreleased Herbert songs and cello/piano music, Guy Haines, Liz Callaway, Bach's Easter Oratorio
   VCR: unadulterated smut

Hmmm...I somehow lost the book I had been reading on my daily commute--Erik Larson's THE DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY.  No where to be found, either in house or car, so I must have dropped in on one of the trains.  I'm in a bit of a quandary, because while I wasn't entirely enraptured by it, I do want to finish it.  Amazon is charging $8 and change for the actual paperback and $9.99 for the Kindle version.  I think I might try a used book store on the way home tonight to see if I can find a cheaper copy before I buy new one again.   Grrrrrr...

I'm listening to Jonathan Michie sing Herbert's jingoistic "In The Folds Of The Starry Flag," written around 1906 and chuckling over the hypocricy of the number's sentiments, which in 1905 are directed only to white Anglo-Saxons.

We have/had a Worldmark by Wyndham, Arnold, which is a multidestination timeshare.  I did some research, found a bunch of places that charge a fee to list, found a lady who markets timeshares on eBay who offered me a fairly good price, but then I just decided to post it for sale on Craig’s List and I had probably 20 offers or so over the course of a few days.  I didn’t get a fortune, but more than I really expected to.

  2. the Toyland project is currently dead, may never revive, so I'm making no income
  3. my good "friend" who has a record company continues to hire every damned orchestrator in the business except for me, making me wonder how much of a "friend" he really is. I can say no more because the E&T Divarobbie likes to carry tales back to the "friend." Today's announcement about a new recording really burned my ass.
  4. I don't like being idle.

Damn!

I guess part of the answer is that my good "friend" really isn't a "good friend" at all. And the other part of the answer, since I learned it a long time ago from Rob Fisher, both with the Garrison Keillor show and his time at Encores!, is that I'm not a big enough star to matter to the starfuckers in the business.

I got awakened by the ringing of the telephonic device at ten to eight this morning.  It was the publisher, so I had to get up and do the pricing stuff so the book could go off to the printer today.  We did it and then I went back to bed and awoke five minutes before Barbara Deutsch got here.  We had our meeting - she's written a book and it's time to get it published - based on the stuff she does as a life coach.  It's funny, irreverent, and really smart and helpful.  I think she's going to end up with the publisher I use (she'd talked to another but they didn't feel that good to her) and I told her that I'd make sure the process went smoothly.  Then I got her to make the best decision she's going to make - to let Grant Geissman design it.  That way, if she takes the fast track program, she can actually have her book in June.

I have review copies of new BDs (sourced from PD elements) of two films produced by Druxy's former employer, Roger Corman, DEMENTIA 13 and THE TERROR.  Just for variety's sake, I also have the NatGeo series WHEN ROME RULED, which I started last night.

I complete the sale of our timeshare today at around 11:30.  No more maintenance fees as of noon!  Yay!!

Did You Get A Good Price? I have A Time Share At The Manhattan Club In New York (right across the street from Carnegie Hall) and I am Having a Very Hard Time Getting Rid Of it. Do You have any tips that You Want To Share?

We have/had a Worldmark by Wyndham, Arnold, which is a multidestination timeshare.  I did some research, found a bunch of places that charge a fee to list, found a lady who markets timeshares on eBay who offered me a fairly good price, but then I just decided to post it for sale on Craig’s List and I had probably 20 offers or so over the course of a few days.  I didn’t get a fortune, but more than I really expected to.

Thanks For Sharing

Hmmm...I somehow lost the book I had been reading on my daily commute--Erik Larson's THE DEVIL IN THE WHITE CITY.  No where to be found, either in house or car, so I must have dropped in on one of the trains.  I'm in a bit of a quandary, because while I wasn't entirely enraptured by it, I do want to finish it.  Amazon is charging $8 and change for the actual paperback and $9.99 for the Kindle version.  I think I might try a used book store on the way home tonight to see if I can find a cheaper copy before I buy new one again.   Grrrrrr...

It worked!!!  That is because I finally said it wasn't. ;D

I wish my copy hadn't been borrowed or I would send it to you.

DR Elmore - I'd already thought about driving past the property.  Also, the Saturday Journal has a realty section and I'll look there.  Do you want to tell me the realtor's name or company?

I know no more than I've related. This is all done by Macbeth and Randy.

I'm never consulted; it's always a fait accompli.

I figured I had better keep reading prior to commenting you likely don't know who the realtor is.

Larry, what you said about the listing makes me nervous. Some cousins and I jointly owned some land, which we sold several years ago. EVERY name was on the listing agreement and EVERY signature was required to do anything. Did you give one of your brothers power of attorney? If not, you should be included in ALL decisions. You need to be very careful about the choice of settlement attorney/escrow agent (whoever does this function in Ohio). Your rightful share MUST be represented.

It is quiet here.  I need to begin reading a 600 page book, "Matterhorn: A Novel of the Vietnam War".  The name caught my attention.  I want to find out why a book titled Matterhorn is about Vietnam. ;D  It was a staff pick at the library & I often like the books they select.

It was a good walk. -And I ate some good food along the way too. :)

Title: Re: BUSY LITTLE BK

*The biggest - and best! - culinary surprise today happened when I walked into Eataly. I had actually just walked in to use the bathrooms, but then I noticed they had some tables set up for their Earth Day festivities. Various local vendors were giving out samples: milk, yogurt, cheese, ketchup, bread, salumi, etc. Well...

I noticed a table that was covered with freshly shucked oysters. It turned out that Wellfleet Oysters (from Wellfleet, MA) was giving out free samples of oysters. So, I had one. And then I had another. And then the "shucker" said to try one with their mignonette sauce... And then one with their spicy cocktail sauce... And then I noticed that the waiters were filling up plates with oysters for customers at the "standing tables". Well...

I only ended up having about six of them - others had more - but, boy, were those some amazingly good oysters. And free to boot!

And then...

As I was scouting out a table at Shake Shack...

"Jose? Is that you?"

It turned out to be the keyboard player who played for me down at Charleston Stage when I was doing The Producers! He's in town this week playing for his high school's chorus which is performing at Carnegie Hall on Sunday night. -Easter Sunday night - interesting scheduling. Wow, St. Louis Airport looking pretty bad after being hit by storm, possible tornado.  Airport is closed indefinitely.  One of the shuttle vans is on top of the roof!

I took today off.  Had a too greasy breakfast at Black Bear Diner, went to The Lincoln Lawyer (liked the book much better than the movie, but may have liked the movie if i didn't know what was going to happen).  Went to an open house at a local nursery and just sat.

DR MBarnum - Are you planning to see "When Harry Tries To Marry"?

I hadn't hear of it, until you mentioned it. Just took a look a the trailer and it looks very cute. Might have to see it!

Tomorrow morning is the grand opening of our new museum. I've seen differing accounts, but they spent between $12-13 milllion on it and it's really cool.  Lots of interactives and high tech.   I was there for volunteer training and for the donors reception, but tomorrow will be the first day for most people to see it.  There's a program with Tom Vilsack and Ted and Joan Waitt speaking.  (Gateway Computers were invented in Sioux City) I'm not big on that sort of program, but will probably go just to see the crowd and get a taste of the excitement about the place.

I like it too, too much food, though.  My eggs and the sausage were really greasy this morning.  They needed to drain the sausage grease or put it on paper towels or something before they served it.   They are opening another one here in town.  It will be just down the street from me, so I'm sure I'll be going there more often.   It is more expensive than other places, but they give you SO MUCH FOOD!

Well, today was a day!  This week is the cut-off for paying the bills for the books at the library and all I did was enter invoice information into our computer system so that it'll get paid by the board meeting next Wednesday.  I literally finished what I needed to finish just when I needed to leave to go to the theater for tonight's show!

As for tonight's show...we had probably our best audience!  They were loud and they loved all the jokes.  A couple of people who were in it the last time that TAO did it were there tonight.  They guy who played the role that I'm playing now was there.  Everyone loved it!  HOWEVER, it was our smallest audience. :-\ Only 14 people!  What's that all about??  But I'm sure that we'll do well tomorrow.  We have two shows, and one is at midnight!  It's definitely going to be a long day tomorrow.

...AND I will have to go to work and finish the last report for the invoicing.  It's one of those situations where something has to run overnight.  I couldn't finish it today, even if I wanted. :P

Grrrrrr...

I loved this book! A creepy serial killer and the inspiration for the Emerald City, who could ask for anything more?

Just don't read it while you're eating  :P

DR Dan (the Man), you could check out a library copy...

I just returned to the Lincoln Center NYPL a score for PRINCE IGOR that I had declared lost over 10 years ago! I had even paid them for it.

If you paid for it, why did you return it?  It's yours!

Like to share this music video. How many movies can you name that spotlight dance moments? (both musicals and non-musicals

Warning this is a one certain four letter word used throughout the video.

www.fynsworthalley.com is no more. A sad end to a great man's passion and love for music

What about the actual recordings?  I wonder who owns those?
