And here are our two new releases - if you want to order now rather than wait, they're $17.98 each plus 3.75 shipping (for one or both), paid directly to paypal to kritzerland at adelphia dot net.

Kritzerland is proud to present two new CD releases:

INSIDE OUT Original Cast Recording
Music by Adryan Russ | Lyrics by Adryan Russ and Doug Haverty
Book by Doug Haverty

MELODYLAND Melody Hollis

“A BRIGHT, WITTY AND WISE MUSICAL COMEDY ABOUT THE WAY WE LIVE NOW.” New York Times

A therapy group, headed by group leader (Grace), is transformed forever when a new person (Dena) joins the group and winds up being a catalyst for change in the lives of (Sage) a flower child of the ‘80s, a powerful businesswoman (Liz), a gay, bank employee single mom (Chlo) of a teenage son, and (Molly), a mother of two young children who’s dealing with weight issues.   Featuring tuneful music by Adryan Russ and insightful lyrics by Russ and Doug Haverty, Inside Out, is every bit as timely today as it was when it premiered off-Broadway at the Cherry Lane Theater, where it received excellent reviews and praise for its amazing cast.

“WE KNOW THAT GROUP THERAPY SESSIONS DON’T USUALLY INCLUDE SINGING AND DANCING, BUT RUSS & HAVERTY MAKE THE AUDIENCE BELIEVE IT’S THE MOST NATURAL THING IN THE WORLD … AT ONCE FUNNY AND TOUCHING.” Variety

Starring Ann Crumb (Aspects of Love, Anna Karenina), Harrriett D. Foy (Once On this Island, Mamma Mia), Kathleen Mahony-Bennett (Anything Goes), Jan Maxwell (Follies, Lend Me A Tenor, City of Angels), Cass Morgan (Pump Boys & Dinettes, Memphis), and Julie Prosser (Baby).

Since its off-Broadway run, the show has had productions all over the United States and overseas, popular with regional and stock and amateur theaters because of its small cast and terrific book, music, and lyrics, and strong roles for women.  Originally released on DRG Records, that CD has been out of print for several years. We have completely re-mastered and re-packaged it for this release.
WELCOME TO MELODYLAND
Melody Hollis is an amazingly talented thirteen-year-old who, with her cabaret act, is certainly one of the youngest (if not the youngest) performers to do a solo cabaret show.  Melody appeared on Broadway in White Christmas as Susan.  She has also done the title role in Annie (alongside Broadway’s original Annie, Andrea McArdle as Miss Hannigan), film and television and commercials.  But her heart is in musical theatre, and this CD, recorded live at Sterling’s at Vitello’s, is filled with great songs, fun patter, and her infectious and winning personality.  She socks over classic songs such as “Part Of Your World,” “Hit Me With A Hot Note,” “The Boy From,” “Tomorrow,” an amazing “Sherman Brothers Nonsense Words” medley, “Let Me Sing And I’m Happy/Love, You Didn’t Do Right By Me” and lesser known songs such as “I Know Now” (from Snoopy! The Musical), “Born To Entertain” (from Ruthless!), “I Want To Be A Rockette” (from Kicks! The Showgirl Musical), – but it’s not all brassy uptempo songs – she also surprises with some incredible ballads like “Reflection/The Girl I Mean To Be (from Mulan/The Secret Garden), “A Quiet Thing” and a very touching “Children Will Listen” and more.
Melody Hollis will have you laughing one minute and melting your heart the next.  Cabaret Scenes raved “Her delight in performing was evident from the outset and her exuberant energy level carried through for the whole show – is there anything this young lady can’t do?” and Broadway World said, “Hollis can not only sing, dance and patter with the best of them, but she has a certain savoir faire and wisdom that go far beyond her years.  Her talent is unlimited – Brava!”

Conceived and Directed by Bruce Kimmel, with musical direction by Steve Hollis.  Arrangements by John Boswell and Bruce Kimmel.

Both CDs are priced at $17.98 plus shipping. CDs will ship the second week of December – however, never fear, preorders placed directly through Kritzerland usually ship one to five weeks earlier (we’ve been averaging four weeks early).   To place an order, see the cover, or hear audio samples, just visit www.kritzerland.com.

I was trying to upload the "uncompressed" version, which is about three gigs, but it took twenty minutes to do one percent, so I opted to use the "compressed" version, which is currently uploading much faster, although it's going to take about an hour.  The trailer was one minute and only took about ten minutes to upload and that was uncompressed, but this is a little over six minutes.

BK, I remember you mentioning last December that you were going to release INSIDE OUT. :D

I searched and and found THIS (http://www.haineshisway.com/smf/index.php?topic=2703.msg709189#msg709189) post from December 02, 2010, 05:30:46 PM:

Had a nice lunch meeting with Doug Haverty and Adryan Russ.  We'll be reissuing their show, Inside Out, on CD with some fun bonus material and better sound.  The off-B'way cast was pretty terrific, and a couple of them have become very well known, so I think we'll do fine with it.

BK, I don't doubt that there will be better sound but will there be "some fun bonus material"?  (I know a lot can change in a year.)

It's really taken me forever to figure out how to do the tags properly and the description stuff, but I think I finally figured it out.  Last time I put in all the info but after the thing uploaded none of it was there.  That's because there's a small thing way to the right that says "save changes" and you have to click that.  So, the last time I had to do it twice - this time I've clicked save changes and hopefully that will work.

Now it says "processing" - have no idea how long THAT takes - it seems if you're uploading a compressed video it should go much faster than this.  Also, I got an error message saying it didn't save my changes.  I don't get this stuff.

It's been a long time since I've uploaded a clip (and none have been in Hi-Def), so I don't remember what's supposed to happen.

Now it's seventy-nine percent processed and seemingly stuck there.  This is what I remember being so bloody irritating when I was posting all the What If videos.  It shouldn't be this hard.

Good morning, all! This is an insane day for me: I'm about to begin the laundry, I've got to thoroughly clean the apartment and mop the bathroom and kitchen, I have to catch a visit with Kim Criswell before she flies back to London, and I have to pack and secure the apartment. DJ and his taxi will meet me at 5AM at the corner of Amsterdam and 82nd Street. I also need to check the weekly forecast for Hilton Head weather because everyone's talking about going to the beach and I have no idea for what clothes to take.

As soon as the laundry's in, I will watch the first web episode; I cannot vacuum at 8AM. The bartender above me who sleeps all day would not be amused.

I don't think I have any more news for now. So, more coffee!

I already have the cast recording of INSIDE OUT.

I recommend it. A great cast of noticable Broadway performers (Ann Crumb, Cass Morgan Kathleen Mahoney-Bennett and JAN MAXWELL who is currently in the revival of FOLLIES)

A tunefull score by Adyran Russ and equal by fun lyrics by Russ and Doug Haverty. The premise is about several women who join a self-help group. Wide variety of styles comical witty lyrics to uptempo and ballads

One of favorite is THIN.
Ann Crumb does a great job with No One Inside

There is something for everyone

Episode one of "Outside the Box"  was very funny.  Congratulations, Bruce.  It's amazing how common the phrase, "outside the box" is on Youtube and how many other things come up.  Great show!  Fantastic cast!

About 20 years ago or so, the New York Magazine Competition had as one if its contests, ideas for songs for a musical version of "Miracle Worker."  There were some very funny submissions.  Same with "To Kill a Mockingbird" and a few others.

The 3rd episode of the 1st season is TREASURE OF THE SIERRA MADRE (Walker in the Huston part) and a later episode is TO HAVE AND HAVE NOT...set against the Mexican revolution.  Walker does the Bogart role.

Much of the dialogue from the movies is used in these episodes.

DR Jennifer, I forgot to mention that we thought THE MENTALIST episode was terrific.  I think this has been the best season of the show.  I can't say I thought it was creepy.  I loved how I could watch Baker's face & know what he was thinking & was surprised Keith didn't know.

So nice to wake up to these comments, plus the You Tube comments, plus the Facebook comments.  Now to figure out how to keep spreading the word.  I've been loathe to start threads about it on the B'way boards because of the people who have a bug up their ASSES about me.

I remember we commented on the Sierra Madre one but not the Have Not-odd since we have seen it so many times.  I think we saw the Mexican revolution episode you are referring to.

As I recall, Peggie Castle played the Lauren Bacall role...just like Lauren Bacall.

From Yesterday re: Jesus Christ Superstar

Without looking it up I believe that Jesus Christ Superstar was nominated for Best Song Score Adaptation (or whatever they called it that year.) I don't think it would have been nominated for any kind of merit award. Merit awards are usually some kind of technical achievement and not for the film itself.

For example the film "EARTHQUAKE" was nominated for  regular categories and the technicians that created "Sensurround" and a camera platform for the helping the filming of the special effects were honored with awards and not necessarily a statue but a scroll, medal or a certificate of some kind. So these awards are not considered to be associated with the film but the technicians.

The weather was quite mild here today. I think it was around mid 50s. So i was able to go on a bike ride. This week before that i only exercised twice (one bike ride and one time swimming). Not good. :(

Well at least with today it makes 3 times. I need to do more indoor exercise. I need to do more indoor exercise. I just hate it!

At least monday, tues, wed should be even milder. So that is good. Although there are some leaves now on the bike path. And a lot of people were out walking today. :(

When i went on my bike ride i forgot about the time change (meaning it would be dark at 5pm). So going out at 2:45pm was not that good (since it was the old 3:45pm).

I was at the book store with my niece. She had a giftcard from her birthday. She is so sweet. She had $15 left (which meant 3 books). And it was her idea to buy her sister a book. So her sister is getting the new Dora book. And my niece got the new Fancy Nancy book and a chapter book with her name in the title.

Well, then , explain this (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0070239/awards) and also this (http://www.imdb.com/event/ev0000003/1973) (you have to scroll quite a ways down on this one).  What's really odd (and which I didn't notice yesterday) is that its nomination for the Award of Merit was in 1973 while its "official" Oscar nomination was in 1974.

I'm done "assisting" making the Zacusca.  It is served cold so I have never tasted it warm-oh my is it delicious!!!  There was a time I would never serve anything but my own bread, tomorrow I will be buying some instead of baking.  I told Keith once Craig is gone if I make this he will have to help me.  I couldn't stir the big pot of ingredients without hurting my right shoulder. :(

Craig is disappointed as the eggplant wasn't that great & without a gas stove & oven we can't get that smoky roasted flavor, but otherwise it came out good.  By Tuesday it will be even better.

I found a Romanian video of how to make Zacusca & began watching.  Craig translated some of what the woman said until she began to throw everything into a food processor at which point he left the room in scorn mumbling about traditional Romanian women not having food processors.  It didn't look like she had even roasted the peppers & eggplant.  I'm sure what she was making wasn't all that great, certainly not compared to what we/Craig just made.

Getting such wonderful reactions to the web series' first episode.  Interestingly, FJL told me that You Tube kind of freezes when a video reaches over 300 views quickly - that number will now stay what it is and then suddenly jump up at some point to the real total - because I've been monitoring it all day and many friends write or call after they've just watched, and yet the number doesn't go up sufficiently or at all.  Seems a little weird to me, actually.

TAO's production of "The Hound of the Baskervilles" is no more.  Last night, we had a completely full house!  We even had to add some chairs.  Today wasn't quite so full, but they all thoroughly enjoyed the last performance.  Then we struck the set and found out that we could store the set at the space!  No moving it at all!  The big question, however, wasn't if we made any money, but did we at least break even. :-\
