Well, you've read the notes, the notes were very annoyed with both the merde and Time Warner, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're currently scraping the merde off their MOOdem.
-
And the word of the day is: APOPEMPTIC!

Good morning, all! I was up at 3:30, and I am on my first cup of coffee. At 5AM, I have to be on the corner of 82nd and Amsterdam to meet DJ and hs taxi. We'll meet Meg, our stage manager, at La Guardia, and travel together. We land in Charleston and transfer to another flight to Savannah, so I hope all connections are on schedule pr ot could be grisly. I could use a few vibes here!
DR George, yes, I would love it if you could copy the Friday episode of GRIMM for me.
I have little else to report at this moment. I have about 40 minutes to finish getting ready.
I understand that my lodging will have a computer, so, if this is true, I'll be keeping in touch. If not, have a great week, everyone!
-
Woke up to find that DC Daisy had vomitted a hairball (again) on the duvet (known as a comforter in the US I believe). More laundry to be done after yesterday's session!

Ultra smooth travel vibes to DR elmore3003!!!

Good morning, all! I was up at 3:30,
Is there such a time?

Morning all.
That is all.

Good morning, all! I was up at 3:30,
Is there such a time?
Yep, and I've been up in it.
-
Apparently we did very well last week but we still have to get through this last week of deadline Hell. Don't know how it will all end but on Friday, November 11th we will find out.
-
And on that note it's off to oatmeal, coffee and the New York Times.
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm about to head IAD to fly to LGB.

Ahhh. A nice gentle rain.

Monday morning greetings! Having just gotten over my European jet lag, this weekend's time change put me right back in the early wake-up mode. Ah, well....

Travel vibes for DRs Elmore, Jose, and Cillaliz!

Finally caught up with Outside the Box. Very silly, wonderfully funny stuff. And I shared it on Facebook.

Good Morning!
Greetings from IAD - otherwise known as Dulles International Airport!
-
Best Buy have announced their closure in the UK. They opened 11 stores in the UK a few years ago but have been struggling. There's a store not far from me but I've never been impressed with it. The range of product and prices are no better than what we have in other stores. I don't know how the UK stores compare with their U.S. ones but they never seemed to have any bargains.
-
I always forget just how close my brother's house is to IAD. We left his place at 6:15am, and I was rolling my luggage into the terminal at 6:30am. The airport wasn't too busy, but with the new-ish terminal and security screening area, it's not exactly set up for an expedited check-in/get-to-your-boarding-gate process. However, I will say that the new terminal trains are kind of cool. ;)
-
PAGE TWO!!
-
Oh... And there's a Chipotle in Terminal B that serves breakfast tacos and burritos, as well as Jack's Stir-Brewed Coffee. :)
-
And there's free WiFi in the terminal too. :)
-
Safe travels to all of our travelers!
-
Thanks for all the Travel Vibes!

Travel vibes for the two show business veterans DR ELMORE and DR JOSE! On the way to make magic.

I think I will go shopping today since it is Monday.
My sister says that her new computer is too slow to do her work on, so she is bringing it back to me. So I will have a very nice computer.....if mine dies. OR if someone in the family happens to need it.
-
Sugarfoot the Monarch Butterfly is very happy living in a birdcage at Molly's house. She was taken outside yesterday where she flew about 5 feet and then turned around and came back and landed on Molly's arm.
She eats mashed fruit and jam and sugar water and likes to listen to music. ;D

DR JRand - Did you sister have a "new-new" computer? Or a "new-gently used" computer? Is she going to buy another newer and faster computer now?

And her turn-offs would be...? ;)

And...
I'm pretty sure I'm going to be sleeping during most of this flight.
Just sayin'.
-
I was just thinking about the butterfly, JRand. I'm glad Sugarfoot has a home. Mexico is a loooong ways away and it sounds like she wouldn't survive long in the wild.

And...
They're about to start boarding my flight, so...

It's quit raining (but I hope we'll get more), so this will be a good time for Sugar to take me for a walk.

I went into one last week and I could understand why the chain is threatened. Service was terrible and the prices were only so-so.
-
Woke up to find that DC Daisy had vomitted a hairball (again) on the duvet (known as a comforter in the US I believe). More laundry to be done after yesterday's session!
Must be something in the air--DD Beegee threw up last night. It was definitely not a hairball, though. :)

BK, as someone who "dealt" with Qwest's internet incompetence for several years, all I can tell you is, look for alternatives for Time Warner. No one was more resistant to change than I was, but the kids convinced me to switch to Comcast and it was relatively effortless, service (and speed--wow!) is much better. There have to be options down there, Time Warner can't be the only ISP in your neck of the woods.
-
This morning I finally have my doctor's appointment. It's actually my routine blood draw but I'm hoping he can shed some light on why I still have this fershluggunah "cold" after five weeks. My hunch is I have or had walking pneumonia. We shall see.
-
As much as I love him, methinks David Raksin was having minor epileptic seizures when he wrote BEN CASEY. Perhaps he was also clad as a nun.
-
TOD:
Difficult because I'm not really into comedies (I'm obviously a grouch). Filtering my DVD Profiler I find:
Death Becomes Her
Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Le Diner de Cons
Mars Attacks!

Dear DR Doug, my daughter wants to know if you celebrated Guy Fawkes Day.
-
Happy Monday, all!
-
Dear DR Doug, my daughter wants to know if you celebrated Guy Fawkes Day.
DR Laura - I used to love celebrating Guy Fawkes Night (or bonfire night as we used to call it) when younger but it's not something I usually celebrate now. In the past it was very common for just about every house to have bonfires and fireworks in their gardens (sorry - yards!) but bonfires are discouraged nowadays so people tend to go to public firework displays instead. Although there's been a decline in celebrating Guy Fawkes, the opposite has happened with Halloween which is a big event nowadays, yet when I was young, Halloween was hardly celebrated at all.
-
Thanks, Doug. Do you do picnics or cookouts or anything like that? Or just the bonfire/fireworks?
-
And Halloween seems to be a season here too, now. Not just a day, like when I was a kid.
-
I recommend COMCAST. It has been the only service I have used (with the exception of 8 months of Freeweb when I first got my computer in 1998 - it was a free dial up service that everyone in my family was using).
-
Comedies.....hmmmmmmmmmmmm
-
Firefox however has been crashing regularly for the past three days.
-

No one threw up anything at my house over the weekend. One or two more posts about positive vomit experiences might see some activity here in the office, though.

Travel vibes for DR Elmore, please!
I've been receiving text messages from him for an hour or so about how difficult his trip has been so far. First, a soldier's bag was checked under Elmore's name, preventing Elmore from checking HIS bag. That meant he had to give up his shampoo and mouthwash and carry on his luggage. They got to Charleston and there was a mechanical problem with their connecting flight to Savannah/Hilton Head, so they were stranded for more than an hour. Last message indicated that they'd just boarded the plane for SAV...

Oh dear! Extra travel vibes for Elmore!

My new sing-along video won't match BK's wonderful pace, of course, but here's the link anyway. Please pass the link around if you like the shtick.

Oh, her brother Hunter Foster is the one whose nudity in BURNING is being talked about
-
Thanks, Doug. Do you do picnics or cookouts or anything like that? Or just the bonfire/fireworks?
The bonfires & fireworks usually include barbecue food like sausages and/or burgers.

DR Elmore and his traveling companions have arrived in Savannah and so has their luggage!
-
Woke at six to find Time Warner down again. Called, was given the usual runaround. First they said it was supposed to have been fixed already, then that changed to sorry still down. Took my car in and sent the eBlast frm the iPad. Happy to say that our views more than doubled overnight. Of course all the views that occurred during the freeze are never counted. CDs arrived but helper is coming back from out of town and won't be here till after eleven. I doubt that everything will get shipped today as she forgot to tell me we were short on boxes. More boxes arrive tomorrow and I'm sure we won't have enough for everything today.
-
Ding, ding ding, we have a winner!!! Walking pneumonia or "something similar" in the inimitable words of my doctor. What a morning of glitches, though. The check-in clerk's computer kept crashing, which means it's "probable" I'll have several duplicated charges for my co-pay, and then evidently due to that glitch, the computer didn't "tell" my doctor I was there, despite my having already seen his nurse and had my vitals checked, so I sat in the waiting room for 40 minutes before I came out in the hall and started raising a ruckus. Then there was another delay waiting for my flu shot, then because I had to pick up drugs for my illness, I went to the pharmacy at the local store to discover they wouldn't be open for another 15 minutes and that it would be a 30 minute wait after that. Oy and vey and also vey and oy.
-
Our heater, except in the bedrooms, just broke & they can't come fix it until tomorrow afternoon. I have 13 people coming for my book discussion in the morning. I have to contact them all to layer on the clothes. I hope the wood burning stove is enough to keep them warm.
-
I really enjoyed Part 1 of "Outside the Box". The rehearsals of "The Miracle Worker: The Musical" had me chuckling in delight!
Whose voice was that on the telephone?

Miracel sounds like some kind of fiber product. :)

I think I have relayed the story of my brother-in-law, who was a VP of both Glaxo and Pfizer, and how we quizzed him as to how they came up with these ridiculous drug names. We thought there was some sort of etymological committee that decided them, but, NOOOOO, it's just some marketing clown who has to choose a name that's not similar to any other drug.

Woke up to find that DC Daisy had vomitted a hairball (again) on the duvet (known as a comforter in the US I believe). More laundry to be done after yesterday's session!
We also say duvet to distinguish it from a regular comforter. Not all comforters are down, or whatever, filled while duvets are. At least that is how I distinguish them.

My cat is never so polite to vomit on something that can be put in a washing machine. Usually, it's the carpet or wherever she happens to be at the moment that it happens. :P

Good Afternoon!
Greetings from Los Angeles, CA!
-
Due to some very heavy fog at Dulles, we ended up taxiing on the tarmac for about 45 minutes. We made up some of the time while in the air, and landed just 20 minutes later than scheduled. Then after claiming my luggage, I took a couple of minutes to get myself situated, and the rest of my day planned.
-
Internet is back, and I'm back for just a moment before going to meet Jose at LACC.
-
I am in beautiful warm Hilton Head, keeping an eye out for alligators and bummed because there is no available computer in our housing. I don't think the director of the theatre was thrilled to find me at a theatre computer checking my email, so I may be E&T the remainder of the trip.
The flight to Charleston was terrible, thanks to a moronic checkin clerk who screwed everything up. I hope the soldiers' luggage arrived with them wherever they were going and not in Savannah. I suspect her ass is in a sling today. I hope so anywaY.
The theatre is lovely and the housing is very nice. In 15 minutes we're seeing 10 local children for the roles of Duncan and his sister Alice Ann.
Keep them vibes coming!
-
My, we are a bunch of world travelers, aren't we? I traveled to a really weird, subterranean section of the house today that had all these strange furnaces and other machinery I didn't know were here--courtesy of the three hour nap I just woke up from!
-
I am listening to Nelson Riddle's albums of TV Themes, including the spasmodic BEN CASEY.
-
Question of the day: "Will you come play with us, Beth Leavelllll?
-
I saw a really great comedy not too long ago. Good cast, good timing. It was called NEVER TOO LATE, but I can't remember the star's name.
-
Here is my bitch of the day.
Watched the local news. The news included two "celebrity items" in the who really cares. Whatever happened to real news.
1) The Michael Jackson doctor.
2) The 20 year old woman saying that Justin Beaver was the father of her child.
I know how to end this. Arrest the woman having sex with a minor. Threaten her with putting her on the sexual offenders database.
-

Well, I took the car in for an oil change and came out with a new radiator. Merry Christmas!
-
I am not well. I think I need to go to bed.

Feel better, TCB!
-
More vibes to TCB!
-
I'm home.... It was a very long day....I got up at 4:00AM, left here about 4:45 AM...everything was smooth and on time, it was just miles and miles and miles to the first appointment, then miles and miles to the second, then miles and miles and miles to get home. I drove a total of 613 miles and was gone about 13 1/2 -14 hours. L-O-N-G day...
-
Vibes to all who need them.
-
I can't believe how dry the whole state of Iowa is....well at least the part I saw today, which was only a little part of the state. The air is just thick with dust. It's been a long time since it rained...hopefully we'll get the rain predicted tonight...although it may be snow, which would make me happy
-
DR Cilla I'm glad to see you are safely home. Have a relaxing evening.

While in the shower I missed the call from the dermatologist's office & couldn't ask if the path report was the same as before, though I think it is. The good news is she got it all out & I don't have to return to have more of my face removed.
-
DR Cilla I'm glad to see you are safely home. Have a relaxing evening.
Thanks Jane, and thanks for those who gave vibes ... I'm glad to have the visits done. I needed to do both of them, but can do the rest of the communication via letter or phone, so I shouldn't have to do that tour again
-

Welcome home, DR Cillaliz! Now, all 3 of today's HHW travelers are accounted for!
-
DR Jane, sorry you missed your call from the doctor's office. Hope all is OK now!
-
Vibes for DR TCB!

That was an awful lot of traveling in one day, Cillaliz. And when you add court appearances in as well. Wow.

2nd time it was cut, or burned out (just a small patch near my ear lobe) with numerous surface removals in between. Hopefully it won't return.
-
DR Jane, sorry you missed your call from the doctor's office. Hope all is OK now!
Thanks. At least a message was left. She said it was a form of squamous cell carcinoma but not if it was the same type as the Bowens previously diagnosed. I'll call tomorrow. Of course the important part is that it is all gone, but then I believe the original report said the same thing.
-
I'm glad you got a good report, Jane.
-
Thanks DR Laura. With today's sun I don't feel like so much like I'm coming down with a cold. :)
-
I'm glad you got a good report, Jane.
Same here, Jane!
-
Since there is only one room in the house with heat I'm glad it is our bedroom or I really would be sick by morning. Craig said the lack of heat is preferable to waking up in 115% temps. I guess it got really hot before it stopped working. He keeps the door shut to keep the pets in & it is still warm in there.

I am not well. I think I need to go to bed.

The rest of the house is still comfortable. With luck it still will be tomorrow morning. I'm so grateful the cold damp weather is gone, not that 45 degrees is all that warm.
-
Thanks DR George.
-
Vibes for Jane.
We're having (minor) furnace issues, too. You may recall we had to have a new one installed a few months ago, and I just discovered yesterday one of the vent pipes is leaking water vapor. It was right next to some very valuable paper memorabilia of mine, thankfully nothing got wet.
-
JR, this new Nelson Riddle CD of TV Themes I got has the second Lucy theme, but arranged with latin percussion like the first Lucy theme.
-
Thanks JMK & vibes back to you.
-
Looks like all sorts of vibes are needed. And here they are!!
-
Thanks. :)
'night

That was an awful lot of traveling in one day, Cillaliz. And when you add court appearances in as well. Wow.
I didn't go to court....just to a prison and a juvenile placement program at a mental hospital facility. I really needed to see both clients and they can't come see me, so.....

My dad has to have little patches burned or cut every once in a while. Vibes you don't have to do it again

I can't believe all the rain is about 10 miles east of us and moving east. I swear, it looks like we could miss it all again...although it does say 80% chance overnight....that means a 20% chance it won't lol
-
Oklahoma had a thunderquake....well that's what they called it on the weather channel. Tongiht they had an earthquake during a thunderstorm. How strange is that!
-
Oh, I see. So you can say you spent some time in prison and in the mental hospital.

Yup. Actually, I've spent a lot of time in prison (visiting, of course). Luckily they always let me out

Oh I give up. think I'll get some sleep. It was a very long day.

Vibes to all that need them!

Spent most of the evening watching WEST SIDE STORY and am now going through the supplements. BK, what you're seeing is most definitely shimmer, not motion judder. Shimmer is also different from moire, though some of that shimmer on the fence comes close to being moire. :)
-
That's a moire. Isn't that a Dean Martin song?
-
Back from our first rehearsal and am feeling much more comfortable now.

Good Evening!
Oh... I guess I need to "refresh" my MacBook's clock to this time zone.

When I called my dad earlier, my mom answered the phone. :)
She's still in the hospital, and will most likely be there for a few more days. But it was good to hear her voice and to talk to her for a bit. She was a bit evasive when it came to describing her current diagnosis, condition, so I think I'm going to call the hospital tomorrow and see if I can talk to her doctor or attending nurse to get a few more details. But, again, she's doing better. -And there was less worry in my father's voice when I talked to him.
