Good morning, all! My lower back is killing me. I'm wondering if my next purchase shouldn't be a new mattress. I really need to get a Macbook for Dublin, so I'm pondering.

We landed Hal Cazalet yesterday for the juvenile role, so we've now got a full cast for DEAREST ENEMY. The only open spot is the Act Three role of George Washington, and we're hoping to get someone like Stephen Rea, Liam Neeson or Gabriel Byrne to come in for an hour and record it. I'm very happy with the cast.

On the office front, good things are happening, although I still have nothing to report. Keep them office vibes rolling! Until a lease is signed, it means nothing.

Today, I'm off to my barber and then to Toyland for a bit of work. I've got three projects on boil and I'd like to finish off the DEAREST ENEMY masters and get them to Bruce Pomahac at Rodgers & Hammerstein.  Tonight I have to meet my friend Joseph and turn over the completed work on THE ONLY GIRL - 4 numbers to go!

DR Nursie, I agree with DR Laura that you've made the best decision for Sherlock.

From Cilla:
Quote
The next Christmas (now in second grade) I only told santa what I wanted for christmas until the evening of Christmas eve.   Apparently my uncle had to go all over Des Moines to find a Chrissy doll on Christmas eve.

How good of your uncle to do that, and that he found you your doll.

I was way ahead of everyone else shopping for gifts.  I was so good I had friends asking me to get them toys for their boys or where they could get them.  I excelled in finding Transformers.

When they wanted Cabbage Patch dolls it wasn't as easy.  My friend was out with her daughter who saw one in the hands of a shopper.  He (a woman would have known better) briefly put it down and the daughter grabbed it.  This was after Christmas, the only way to get them that year for Christmas was to pay black market prices.

My question for ASK BK DAY - did Annette's daughter's husband ever move that junk car?

Yes, after two tickets he finally moved it elsewhere.  It came back about five weeks ago, but was only here two days that time.

I'm up.  I was awakened at nine by the ringing of the doorbell - it was the Handy Man, who hadn't gotten here yesterday - he fixed the sprinkler timer and this time put a battery in, so that should we ever have another outage it will go to the battery and won't get all screwed up.

Pictures of Pembroke Castle

John J: Parts of the castle are in good condition because a lot of restoration work has been done but some of the castle is in ruins.

Jane: Yes the Pembroke corgis come form Pembrokeshire.

Thank you.  I know it is.  We just had to do the research and be sure we didn't miss anything.  It is difficult when reading stories of great success.  Many of the stories are of people who are thrilled to have gained four months.  To us that isn't enough to risk a reaction to the drugs.

This morning I woke up feeling rather disheartened & didn't feel like meeting up with my hiking group.  I'm glad I did & had a nice hike.  Later Keith & I took Sherlock into town.  He loves shopping with us & all the attention he gets.  Now he is resting on the deck while Keith is weeding.

I take that back, just as I was about to post Sherlock began barking because Craig was coming up the drive way.  I had to let him in to greet Craig & then he drank a ton of water (prednisone makes him thirsty).  Now he is on his bed with his new squeaky bear.

Listening to the full master of our next release.  The movie is supremely weird and a favorite of mine for that reason, and the score matches its weirdness in every way.  And I'm very pleased that this is the first film score of this composer to reach CD.

Wednesday morning greetings!  I have a gazillion things to do today before Mom and I leave for Michigan tomorrow, but I'd rather be watching the episodes of Downton Abbey and Boardwalk Empire that I have on hand...

Today we picked up Season 2, disc 3 of DOWNTON ABBEY.

I still haven't watched Season 2.

You are not alone. I wanted to watch Season 1 again.

We walked past the video store today and they had it available.  We even let Sherlock have a cookie there.  We don't normally let him have regular dog biscuits.

That was late for me today.  Been a "day" so far, and still have Annie this eve.  Had some "drama" with another teacher (who is also a principal) towards the end of the day.  Had a long talk with her and things are fine.

I'm at work and am just about to leave.  My sister wants me to come over and help her with something, but I can barely keep my eyes open.  I'm going to go home and have a little nap, then go over.

Be back later.

Sounds like Sherlock is having a great day

I am as packed as I can be the night before a trip.  Thank you for the "getting things done" vibes, which worked like a charm.  It was especially good to complete those tasks that were keeping me awake between 3 and 5am!  I even managed to finish up the Boardwalk Empire disc here from Netflix and watch some more Downton Abbey (which we bought) with Richard.  Now I'm going to set up my morning coffee and go to bed.

'night!

Have started "Mildred Pierce" tonight. Strange, all of the story seems familiar and yet it's taking two hours to tell only a third of what the Joan Crawford version told in two hours. I'm enjoying it and the pacing is right for what it wants to do, but it is slower. Much slower.

Of course, they're nice Lutheran ladies.  :)

Hello everyone!

I just did a very quick skim-through of the last few days which I have missed, so I could catch up on some of the goings-on around here.

BK - So glad the book signing went well.
TCB - Continuing vibes for health and wellness

Jane, Keith, and DD Sherlock - I am so very very sorry to hear how things have turned out.  I agree with the decision, and I'm glad you have such a kind and supportive, honest vet.  Many vibes and hugs to all of you.

I have been working furiously to finish up end-of-term work.  We had some gorgeous sunny days, but are now back to the usual cloudy rainy dreariness.  Ah well, such is Pacific Northwest life.

Jed is soon to return from the first Forum rehearsal.  Apparently the Pseudolus they cast has no lower range whatsoever, and they have been forced to re-write the opening melody of Comedy Tonight for him.  Not sure how i feel about them re-writing the most recognizable melody in the show, but there you are.
