Well, you've read the notes, the notes told it like it was and like it is, and now it is time for you to post until the cows come home - they're getting ready to go to MOOlodyland.

Good morning, all.  I think tomorrow morning I wall call my doctor and see if I can get an appointment for Wednesday about these back pains. I cannot  wonder what the hell is causing them much longer. My physical is set forMay 18, but that's nearly three weeks away. Hopefully, I can see her on Wednesday. Tuesday is out, due to a Toyland commitment, but Wednesday or Thursday would be great.  A cancrllstion tomottow would be ideal but I am not holding my breath for that!

Today, I've got another act of the EILEEN libretto to type and I've got some researchon the liner notes to begin. I'll see if I can get through the three scores for THE ONLY GIRL later today. and call it quits on that.

More coffee!

Loved the photos from yesterday DR JOHN G - especially the one with you and royalty.  The doggies were very fetching in their attire.

And a lovely wedding photo from DR GINNY of her sister and her wedding party.....most excellent.

Sounds like the STAGE event was great.  I would like to have seen the acts that MR BK talked about, but I don't think I would want to sit through the whole show.

Vibes for Melody and MR BK and the gang at Miss Melody's show this evening!  It should be lots of fun.  The planets are in line for terrific stage performances this evening!

The sun is trining Uranus - and that always makes ME want to do a show.  ;D

Tonight is a new TAR. I see the 2 hour finale is next week. The promos for tonight's episode look interesting. Someone is crying. I think they may ask her to shave her head!

I am wondering how many people here would shave their head on TAR. I think for a guy it wouldn't be too bad. But i don't really think it's fair that the task is not equal for men and women. I would not want to shave my head.

Aside from how wasteful the actual spending was on the govt's GSA junket, which is an issue only for the higher-ups there:

I'm having trouble understanding why the joking around about stuff like about the way government works is Ok for the President and the folks at the correspondents dinner, but the employees who made the funny videos poking fun at government waste are seen as pariahs.

So the reporters and officials are allowed to have fun with a cost to the taxpayers but the junket employees' comedy videos are not OK?

I can't imagine the Correspondents dinner costs the taxpayers any less than those comedy videos the GSA employees made.

Again, there was definite waste from the junket being so lavish -  but the comedic joking around is OK for the President and correspondents, but not for the GSA employees who made the videos?

END OF RANT.  :)

If it's number of posts, maybe some who post longer posts should be encouraged to break them up into two or more posts.

Week three of the loquat wine-making experiment (not gedankenexperiment -- see I used it in a sentence). I have filtered the fruit out and placed the juice in a 5-gallon jar that is now out of sight and will sit and ferment for a while. The fermentation process has begun. I tasted some of the fruit and it was quite heady -- and delicious. Wish I had some vanilla ice cream to put it on.

Last night I met my friend from Florida, Robin, at Roslyn Kind's concert at Brooklyn College.  It was a "welcome home" for Roz.  She was great, even though the sound left a lot to be desired.  She mentioned that she was hearing an echo and they eventually made the sound better.  Afterwards there was a little reception where an award was given to Ms. Kind.  She was very warm and personable.

Tonight I'm going to a fundraiser for the Trevor Project at the Laurie Beechman Theater.  There are many singers performing, including HHW fave, Mr. Barrett.  My trip this weekend had been planned for months (to see Roslyn Kind), so it's a little bonus that Brent's performing too.

We took Sherlock to town today and ate lunch in the lobby of the Ashland Springs Hotel (http://www.ashlandspringshotel.com/).

We were served from the adjoining restaurant.  We had a corner to ourselves by the window and Sherlock was very comfortable.  We also gave him lots of treats from our plates.

Before & after lunch we took short walks through town.  On the way back to the car we stopped for me to have a peppermint stick ice cream cone, just a junior scoop, and sat on their patio.

Thanks Jane.  I was supposed to work the book sale so I imagine someone is mad at me, but I've just been so stressed that I needed to do things around the house, like mowing, cleaning the kitchen, making a good meal that will have left overs to last for a few days etc.

I seriously think some kids threw the seeds there.  There were a lot of kids around here at night over the fall/winter.   Other items were found in the neighborhood that would lead one to believe that there were people um....doing something intimate in a car.....

No one has replaced them.  Well Me. I guess I replaced them. This was the first mow of the season.   When most of the grass is dead, you don't need to do it alot

I'm backing off some of the things I was doing.  I didn't do the film festival this year, I'm off the friends library board, I'm saying "no" more.  I really enjoy a lot of the things I agree to do.  I'll just have to decide what I enjoy the most and walk away from the rest.   THe people on the hist pres comm don't know it, but I have one more year in this term and I"m not sure if I'll re-up.   They will be surprised, but I just can't do it all. On the other hand, I can't think of anything I've volunteered for that I regret volunteering.

Thanks, DR Jane!  We've had fun reminiscing this weekend.  Of the 4 women in that photo, 3 of us were at today's festivities.  My sister, the bride, of course, and the bridesmaid next to me.  She's my brother-in-law's sister and was a senior in high school.  My sister has lost touch with the maid of honor, in the darker dress.

I didn't mind the elimination on TAR, and am certainly looking forward to the 2-hour finale next week.  I don't know if it's four teams for an hour and then the final three.....or if we have a Final Four.....but the promo made it look very exciting.....but then again, that's what a promo is supposed to do.

We went to see the new Aardman film - Pirates tonight - it was very funny and very clever

there were so many little visual jokes in the background  I think you could watch the  movie several times and still not catch them all - I recommend  it

Oh Holy moley, I just realized that in one week I have 3 birthdays and mothers day.

Mother's Day is next Sunday?
Not sure, but the birthdays are the 9th, 10th and 11th so if Mo's day is the Sunday after that's 3 bdays and mos day in one week

Ok, I am so disgusted at the way Lisa Lampenelli bullied Dayana on Celebrity Apprentice that I'm not sure I can even watch it again.  It was way way way over the edge and it was allowed to continue.

Apparently I'm not the only one who feels that way, although the comments on Lisa's facebook page are just as bad as what she was doing to Dayana

Finally home after a long week.  DP and mom and I went to PF Changs for dinner and had some yummy-licious food including the lemongrass Brussels sprouts.  There was ribs, ahi, chicken, shrimp, Mongolian beef and rice (not for me though!)  Great way to end the long week.  We went to Kohl's and the DP's mom bought us a cool set of bedding (which is a belated Christmas gift).  Now, we are home.

We had a great house today for Annie.  Almost sold out.  I can't remember when the first Sunday matinee was this well attended.  Well, children and dogs... well, you know the rest.  We are VERY happy with it, nonetheless!

Watching TAR.  Not surprised about the person who was crying about shaving her head

Well they totally showed this in the preview. I think if I was on the show I would have done it. But I would not like it. It would take years and years for hair to grow back.

Can't wait for my guilty pleasure....Celebrity Apprentice

I also am enjoying this season. Tonight was especially good. There are 3 people left who i actually really like. The two people left on the team that lost. And the "star" of the other team.

RE: the preview for next week's FINALE OF THE AMAZING RACE

I guess it was Brunch Sunday, and I am just now finding out.

I didn't mind the elimination on TAR, and am certainly looking forward to the 2-hour finale next week.  I don't know if it's four teams for an hour and then the final three.....or if we have a Final Four.....but the promo made it look very exciting.....but then again, that's what a promo is supposed to do.

The preview does look super exciting. Especially the part where the first team to arrive at the end has to go back?!?  I guess it will depend on what they didn't finish. But that sounds like the craziest ending ever.

Lisa Lampinelli was just too much for me tonight.  Maybe I'm more senistive because we are really having a huge anti-bullying campaign going on here, but there was absolutely no need for her to be so cruel and crude to Dayana.   I think Lisa must have some mental issues

Oh my.....last Friday SUPERNATURAL had a very GOOD episode - and MAD MEN tonight was also outstanding....

I recorded "Mad Men" but I got home too late to watch it "live."  I'm watching my other Sunday shows and I'll watch MM after those (so my DVR doesn't get too filled to quickly).

I see what you're saying, but i sort of disagree. Dayana was so beyond useless in this task that even Clay Aiken (who teaches kids with disabilities) could not stand it. If his patience was tested then you know it had to be bad.

Yes i think that Lisa can be super harsh. But i think she tells it as it is. And has praised Dayana quite a few times when she deserved it.

I sort of like Dayana. But tonight she just went too far. ANd i understood why Lisa said what she did. I don't think she should have insulted her the way she did. But that is her personality. ANd i think that Dayana could handle it.  I mean Dayana knew nothing about the task and was definitely micro-managing ridiculously. I have liked her on past shows but even i could not stand her tonight.

Jennifer are you saying you like Aubrey?   I would never want to work with someone like her.  Especially someone who does her best to throw everyone on her team under the bus.   Yikes!

Yes, i love her.  I am not saying that she would be easy to work with. But i love her energy. And i love how super creative she is.  yes she can be bossy. But seriously the rest of her team had no ideas. That would make me crazy. I don't know that she totally threw her team under the bus. She just tells it exactly how it is. So when Donald JR. asked her she wasn't exactly gracious. But what she said was honest IMO.  And she was pretty nice in the boardroom.

Lisa called her all sorts of vile names that were totally uncalled for.  It wasn't just "telling it like it is" it was degrading and really way way past what's acceptable behavior for what's supposed to be a business atmosphere.  I have no respect for her or Aubrey.   As to Clay's comments.  Dayana wasn't trying to tell him how to sing, she was trying to tell him to try standing in a different place to check it out.   She does have experience in those areas.   And if you noticed, when they actually performed, he was where Dayana suggested he stand.

I know you think that what Lisa did was bullying. To me bullying is when you use your power over someone who is weak. And i don't consider Dayana as being weak at all. SHe was frustrated because she was not respected. But Clay didn't respect her. And he definitely wasn't bullying her. Lisa was insulting. And she went overboard. And i don't agree with the things she said (they were very mean). But i think that is her personality. She is a loud raunchy comedian. And she was pushed to her limit. Even though she is very brash, I actually love her on this show. She is brilliantly creative. ANd she was amazing tonight in the performance. I prefer people who are more involved (vs Theresa who seems nice and works hard yet has very few ideas).

Yep.  In reality tv i tend to always root for the people who are competitive, who do more vs people who are nice (which most people cheer for).

I have gone back and forth on Dayana this season. I see the things that Donald Trump sees in her. She is very poised. She is lovely. ANd at times she has done well. But the teams have had to carry her a lot.  RE: it being a business atmosphere. It is a tv show. And they want people to do crazy things.

Lisa was totally verbally abusive.  If you ever study domestic abuse, verbal abuse can be just as bad if not worse that physical abuse.  She called her a vile bitch, she said she was brainless and on and on.   That's abuse, that's bullying and that should not be allowed on a tv show that's supposed to be about raising money for charity

I'll stop. I realize that they want people to get upset to up ratings, but most of the people who are upset are saying they won't watch anymore.  I guess I"m to that point.  I really enjoyed the show until tonight.  I'm not saying Dayana shouldn't have been fired. I really don't care about that.  It's the way Lisa treats people that shouldn't be tolerated. So next week I won't watch. I'm done.

DR Jennifer, I also understand that you are just looking at it in terms of the entertainment of a reality show.  I get that and that's cool.  I'm not saying you shouldn't have the opinion you have.  I guess with the recent suicide of a bullied teen here and a lot of intense things that have happened in our community over bullying, I'm just not willing to watch that and say it's ok

Yes you are right she was verbally abusive. But they are encouraged to yell at each other in the boardroom. If it was real life then i would agree that it wouldn't/shouldn't be tolerated. I think the reason I sort of like Lisa is because she could have just shut down and made sure that Dayana lost. But even though she hated her, she still did the task and was amazing.  I also don't think that Dayana felt threatened in any way. Obviously she could not stand Lisa or her temper. To me if Dayana had cried/been upset/been scared ... then i would totally feel differently.

I haven't watched in a couple of years...mainly for that reason.  I also don't watch any of the "Real Housewives" shows because the few clips that I've seen, all I've seen happen is them yelling at each other and talking behind each others' backs.  I just don't see how any of that is "entertainment." :P

Back from what can only be deemed as a wildly successful evening.  A nice crowd, really enthusiastic and everything just landed wonderfully, thanks to Melody being focused and at the top of her game.  It is not easy, as anyone who's attempted to do this, to carry a sixty-five minute show all by yourself, with no breaks, no one to take any of the load, just one song after another and patter and Melody does it as good as anyone I've ever seen.  All the new numbers worked great, and every line and bit of business that was new also worked like gangbusters.  More in the notes.
