Today is THE DAY. Yes today is the day of TFNM midnight screening!
So exciting, and I am sure it will be a sellout!!!!
Hopefully there will be photographs!
Anyone who is ANYONE will be there!
There's something about that poster for LURE OF THE SWAMP posted by MBarnum which makes me want to see the film! Pity it's not on DVD.
Will it ever stop raining?
Will it ever stop raining?
And the word of the day is: PRODIGIOUS!
Will do. Thank you!
Morning all. It's 6:07 AM here as I type this. I had a Doctor appt last night and didn't get home until almost eight thirty. Then there was all the news on FB about the new baby. I'm a great, great Aunt again!
There were only 2 of us in the waiting room so the lady and I started talking. Turns out we both work for the county--and when it came around to who we work for (she works for the Clerk of CC in the accounting dept) she said she knew my boss and that she is "the worst" and "she takes micro managing to a new all time lower level." I had to agree. I find that most people who know her are just glad they don't have to work for or with her.
When I told her about us doing payroll she couldn't believe it. She said the same thing that I've said all along--"Doesn't she know your working out of tittle?"
She told me a bunch of horror stories from other people who have worked for her in the past. At least I know that it isn't me. Some people should never be made supervisors.
That's my rant for the day.
TGIF!!!! Vibes to all who need them and have a wonderful day!!!
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
Thanks for all the vibes from yesterday.
The camera is still traveling inside me :-)
In other news, the buyers have completed their final walkthrough, their loan documents are at the title company and we are set to sign next Thursday. They don't get their keys until Friday and we probably won't get our money until Monday.
I also started John Carter but am underwhelmed. Yes, underwhelmed.
Greetings from Toyland! I will be getting a nice additional income from Social Security beginning in September. I am curious to see what I will get from 28 years of being a Local 802 AFM member! That's next.
A nice surprise on our last night at the villa:
And some beautiful porcini, which I had tonight on pasta and on pizza:
Sorry Bruce. I hope it isn't too late to make things right again.
Got the response - predictable and all about the respondee rather than what it should be about, which is how someone ELSE is being made to feel - whether that's real or not is not the issue - it's been explained clearly and that's all one can do. So, I'm afraid I'll be getting off the Melodyland merry-go-round, probably for good. It's not really to do with her - it's her folks and doing a 180 on what has been a very close friendship - all they ever had to do during any of this was say "Hey, the next month is really busy, but let's make a plan right after that." But that's not what I was hearing and they way they were doing what they were doing was crazy-making and I tried gently to tell them that. It's a shame - I've done nothing but try to keep their daughter in the spotlight, make an incredible act for her, give her a CD, and give her incredible material month after month. I cannot see where anyone else has done anything like that for her - in fact, she's had one professional job in the entire year and a half I've been working for her, outside of what we've done. Oh, well - sad, but there you are.
In other news of potential disasters, our servers have evidently crashed and we may have to re-do everything from the past two months. Film at 11.

It looks like the Follies remix is happening - I should have the Pro Tools session transfer next week - unless we absolutely cannot make it better than the original, I'm doing it. If we can't, it was worth at least trying. Sondheim has been apprised and hopes we can make it better.
Most unseemly.
DR Cilla I think it is rather brave & cool you crashed the party last night. :)

BK--you mentioned talking with Brent B---any chance he'll be doing Outside the Box? I know he's in Peter Pan in La Mirada right now.

I was at the jail in Omaha visiting a client, then to Trader Joe's, then drove home. Now I'm in my recliner....did you REALLY want to know that?

Kevin, next time you see him or Bernie, tell them hello for me. I really enjoyed meeting them in Chicago

We're trying to make it happen. I'm waiting to hear his schedule and then I'll be able to figure everything out.
DR Cillaliz - please give Samantha a big hug from me and remind her that I'm cute. I'll bet she's cute, too, pregnant and all!

Yes, I think he'll be doing the show well into 2013.
Spoke with my aunt and cousin in Illinois. My aunt (on my father's side) is the only surviving sibling out of 6.
Tomorrow morning I am going to see DR Samantha. We are going to have lunch and I'll take her both her birthday present and the presents I bought for her baby shower. She's due June 21 and I told her I'd like to come up to spend some time with her before the baby is born. Honestly, I don't think we've done anything without at least part of the family there since we went to NYC. We originally planned it for Sunday but she needed to reschedule for tomorrow. I'm very glad that she wanted to reschedule instead of cancel. Her due date is the 21st now. So, if we couldn't do it now, I'm not sure when we would do it.
Shortly I shall be on my way to the Raven Theater where I shall hopefully be ravin'.

I have to laugh. Last time I saw Cathy Rigby in Seattle, after the show she told me this was her final tour of the show. She said it was just getting too tough to do, night after night. This was , I believe, in 2004. Now she is closing in on 60, and she decides to tour the show again.
Nanda isn't an act. It's a whole four-man vaudeville show.
Its members juggle, dance, sing, fight, do magic, do acrobatics, do mime, fight some more, make films, steal a suitcase, drive a tank, stop time (while fighting), jump rope, make amusing spelling mistakes, acknowledge they're creating a dramaturgical mess and — did I mention? — fight.
That's "fight" as in "martial arts," which is one reason they describe their act as "acrobaticalist ninja theatre....
Jane Harvey Sings Sondheim, just released on the SSJ Label, is NOT a re-reissue of her "The Other Side of Sondheim" that Atlantic Records released a while back. This new CD is the complete 59 minute unexpurgated version, with trio accompaniment including, Mike Renzi, on piano, Grady Tate on drums, and Jay Leonhart on bass . . .all jazz virtuosos in their own right. It was a labor of love for them all, so when Atlantic cut whole songs, and aborted medleys to reduce the package to 43 minutes, it was devastating to all. The decision by Atlantic to have string arrangements overdubbed was another disappointment, because it spoiled the integrity of Harvey's concept of a true jazz vision of composer Stephen Sondheim. However, shortly before Atlantic's Ahmet Ertegun* died, he returned all rights to Jane's Sondheim album to her, and now: the medleys are in tact, the strings have been removed, thus emphasizing the Jazz side of Sondheim. Therefore, this SSJ issue of "Jane Harvey Sings Sondheim" is rightfully considered to be a NEW release. This re-tooled edition, including the singer's 2009 recording of "Send in the Clowns," is now available!
HAS BK FINALLY MISSED A BLOG ENTERY?
STAY TUNED FOR NEWS AT 11.
