Last night's rehearsal for "Titus" went quite well...they used the real fake blood for the first time (a couple of characters get their throats cut and so far, they've been using water to make sure that it works...it does, but not as well as they'd like).
And the word of the day is: AGEE!
My first thought. Second thought: "You'll say a better major general has never sat a gee."And the word of the day is: AGEE!
James?

Anyway, during the rehearsal, I got a call from a friend who (had to leave a message which) said that according to the local paper (and a LOT of Facebook posts) a mutual friend of ours has been missing since Sunday night! :o Here's the article:

He's the resident musical director for Capital Playhouse and I've known him since we met during the very first show that I did in Olympia in 1989. I hope that he's found and and soon and well!
Oh no NOT Dr Gannon!Exactly. I remember watching that show as a kid.
We had a line of intense thunderstorms pass through yesterday evening in which most of the rain and thunder and lightning missed my area, but the sky and winds were the second most beautiful example of a healing cool front I've ever experienced. I don't even have the vocabulary to describe it, that's how unique and "awesome" and welcoming it was. Within half an hour we went from a 90+ degree A/C lockdown to a windows-flung-wide-open one that is heavenly even now.
(Sorry, DR Ginny!) :o

Had a phone call from Dell to remind me that the 4 year warranty on my computer had just expired. They offered a one year extension for the equivalent of about $160 but as nothing has gone wrong in 4 years I didn't see the point.
Ketchup VIBES all around...for the health and welfare of all DRs and their families and friends, and for DR George's friend.
DR Jrand61, maybe you posted and it flew right by me like a gazelle on its way to Barnes and Noble during a Criterion sale, but whatever happened with the no-show helper on your opening night?
It seems as if that is what happened to my Dell.Had a phone call from Dell to remind me that the 4 year warranty on my computer had just expired. They offered a one year extension for the equivalent of about $160 but as nothing has gone wrong in 4 years I didn't see the point.
DR Doug R - You do know that this now means that Dell will unlock/unleash your computer's self-destruct mode. ;)

John G, aside from feeling seriously sleep-deprived, I'm OK. Thanks.I know the sleep-deprived feeling very well.
And you?

Thanks, DR ChasSmith! I think we're in for a cool-down over the weekend. It will be very welcome, because my Mom's retirement community has their annual fish fry on Saturday and our local Greek church has their festival all weekend.
How are you today, TCB?
TCB, Follies ships tomorrow. Boys in the Band is from Sweden by way of Canarsie.
DR George, I am sorry to read about your friend! I hope he is found and safe.~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Positive Vibes for DR George's friend, for vixmom's friend Stef, for cillaliz and TCB, and for one and all in this middle of the week! ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I received a message about 6:30 this morning that Troy is SAFE. He had some type of medical event and ended up blacking out and sleeping in the woods for 2 days. He woke up this morning and called Denise Livingston – he is now at St Peter’s Hospital being checked out for medical causes. Please hold off trying to contact him this morning as his family will need to have some time with him. I have contacted Arthur so he has the news. Thanks to ALL of you for your faith and your prayers. I will send out an update later today once we know more. Thanks again!!
And the word of the day is: AGEE!
I'm up. It took me a LONG time - didn't fall asleep till almost three and just before I did there was a minor little earthquake - nothing to speak of but still.
Thank You, DR Ron Pulliam!
Will I see you when I'm out in Palo Alto in a few weeks? Or when I'm in San Francisco in September? ;)
Well it is official.....I am the Rev Lionel Toop in SEE HOW THEY RUN.

George, glad to hear your friend was found. Hope his medical issues aren't too serious

I looked for an update from you before posting. I was extremely relieved he has been found.
VIBES HE WILL BE OK!!!
And we have lost another actor. Chad Everett best known for his work on TV's Medical Center http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chad_Everett
I had a rough day today. It was very busy with appointments and the usual fires to put out. I don't know if it was going in and out of the heat or not having time for lunch, but this afternoon I was really feeling lousy. My shoulder was hurting and I was feeling dizzy. So I can home around 4:00. I'm back in the AC (our heat index is still 102 today) and relaxing. There is a chance of storms and rain for the first time in AGES so that would be a good thing.

In case no one's heard, we had a jolt this morning. It's been reported as a 3.7 magnitude quake. I had trouble falling asleep last night, then the quake hit about 3:20, and I was unable to go back to sleep. I kept expecting after-shocks. No damage that I'm aware of. It was centered not far off Marina del Rey (not far from me). But this kid does not function well on only 3 hours sleep!Yikes! I'm glad that our ground doesn't shake. I don't think I would like that.
Vibes for DR The Vixter's friend Stef and for DR John G's friend Carol. Blood clots in your lungs are scary!I send vibes as well!
Well, apparently we've got an epidemic on our hands here at the City of Studio post office. It seems dear reader ChasSmith's book is still sitting there and has been since July 13, along with at least one other package we know of. It will be interesting to see if and when it shows up at the sort facility in Santa Clarita, and if the packages are then sent on empty. I have added these two packages and their tracking numbers to a new complaint with the inspector general. If they're smart, they will now monitor that facility carefully and maybe even put an undercover person there.
Thanks Jane, Ginny and Danise....I came home and drank water and had a little food. I do feel better.

That is wonderful, Jack! Break a leg.
Thank you all! It took about 45 minutes!
That's a promise I'll expect you to keep. :)I wish you could walk beside me all the way, DR TCB!

No, this week has been scheduled for several weeks and we are definitely on the brink of being behind. Today was the worst schedule-wise and heat wise. It was the third day in a row over well over 100 heat index and I was in and out a number of times. The best news is the temperature has dropped over 15 degrees in the past couple hours. I haven't seen rain in my neighborhood yet, but there are storms in the area. I can actually open the windows for the cats.
I tied a carrot onto a stick today. I set a goal that I will be walking by next April. We shall see what we shall see.
Here's hoping DR George's friend is found safe and sound!

Having a goal is good even if it needs adjusting down the road.
What do you do in PT? When I initially went for my shoulder the therapist did most of the work & torture, moving my arm and shoulder into positions. Slowly I did more exercises on my own.

It is mostly leg and foot stretches. Each excercise a little different. I don't she has ever done very much of the work, other thn the upper body pushes that we do. She does most of the excercises along with me, but, of course, it easier for her than it is me. And it is a lot easier for me to do them with my right leg, than with my left. She said I am doing very well. One day at a time.
Cilla, I am glad that you came home a little early. It was probably what you needed to do. Keep drinking water. It will give you an excuse for getting up in the night to check the weather.LOL! Actually, I didn't drink much water today. Days like today are always draining. It's pretty much all consultations with prospective clients and errands in between because there isn't really time to do any real work between appointments. Tomorrow is more of an office day. A lot more relaxing than today

You should be carrying water with you at all times. It is too easy to get dehydrated in weather like this even if you are staying inside most of the time.
VIBES YOU KEEP ON TOP OF YOUR WORK!!!

thanks for the vibes. Carrying water doesn't work in a lot of the places I have to go. No drinks allowed
I now have four books to read from the library. It seems to be feast or famine with them.

In the car then?
DR Matthew - I like Dear Edwina, Jr. (and not Jr.) too. I had a blast working on a special production of it a few years ago with Marcy and Zina.
I might even come up to San Fran - I do have to be there at some point to do a couple of radio shows for the book.
