And the word of the day is: SPOONERISM!
Had a wonderful e-mail from Ted Chapin who wrote the Everything Was Possible book on Follies. He's loving the CD hugely.Nice.
Thrilled --- THRILLED, I tell you --- at what I just brought up to the house from the mailbox! :)
DR Jrand, I threw a party LAST Sunday for my DP's 40th. It was a success.
Catching up on this weekends posts, DR JRand61 wrote something that made laugh out loud. But now I don't remember what it was. But thanks for the laugh, anyhow!
Well somebody broke into my sister's store this morning, stole the weekend receipts (3 days worth) and all of the jewelry. That's horrible. I hope the culprits were ready for their closeup, too.
I hope the mall's parking lot security cameras were working.
Here's a surprise:

DR ChasSmith, for some reason I am unable to get REFORM SCHOOL GIRL to copy properly. I have tried several times and each time the copied disc begins the movie already in progress. The original DVDr works just fine, so there is something screwy in the software or something.
I will look for something else amusing to send your way, instead. Of course if you are wanting to still see REFORM SCHOOL GIRL it is available on a region 2 DVD, I think.
T forgot the TOD:
The Student Prince
The General
Phantom of the Opera
DR George, the recording of BABS IN TOYLAND was almost released around 2006, but negotiations fell apart. I don't know if it will ever see a commercial release. It's no longer something I have to deal with.
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And my ankles are itching.
MBarnum, here's some Bollywood dish I saw this morning. Interesting that she's from a Muslim family.

DR BEN you are correct....it is the 1987 Original London Cast 2-CD set from F1rst N1ght that I have. But I don't think I have listened to all of it.....
Nice packaging though.
My warmest memories, sadly, are of my Aunt Jenny coming over to wash all my accumulated laundry and to iron my shirts and trousers so I could go back to school.
Her death tears my heart out that I now can never tell her how much I appreciated and loved her for doing that.

Vibes that George's friend has a good lawyer.
Greetings from Toyland!
Social Security and I do not agree with the IRS on my earnings for one year. It's now in my accountant's hands.

I hope so, too! What terrible news.
She doesn't do a daily depsit?
I meant money DR JANE....not receipts.
No credit card information is kept. All of our credit card receipts - ours and our customers' - have XXXX XXXX XXXX in the place of the numbers
From DR elmore:I know you can be hard on your mom, Elmore (I can be the same about mine at times). But perhaps your aunt knew her in ways that you couldn't, which is why she helped you as she could. Again, my condolences.QuoteMy warmest memories, sadly, are of my Aunt Jenny coming over to wash all my accumulated laundry and to iron my shirts and trousers so I could go back to school.

This is so very sweet, touching & sad. I'm sure your aunt knew how much you appreciated her. She obviously loved you very much.

Mikey, there's probably a "Good Taste" mode you need to turn off before you can proceed.
Eye vibes for Keith.Ditto.

And now I am off to a Thoroughly Modern Millie/See How They Run rehearsal.
My copies of FOLLIES arrived this PM.
I thought they were supposed to be autographed by the main cast! :-)

My copies (I bought two) just arrived about an hour ago!! I love the booklet and the photographs! It's all so wonderful!
I sit here with my head in my hands and wonder WHY???? (http://www.playbill.com/news/article/168541-Into-the-Woods-Will-Offer-First-Act-Only-Family-Matinee-Performance-Aug-22)

And I thought I had all of Streisand's recordings!
Apparently a lot of folks got their Follies CDs today - what always amuses me is when they get them after wanting them so badly, they let it sit, much like our own elmore. I could never do that if I was salivating for something. The biggest complainer on the Cast Recordings Facebook page got his today and hasn't listened yet.
BTW - I loved the booklet and what it contained, especially bk's notes.

Why are you dragging me into this? You know I love you, and you're getting more than enough love from perfect strangers this week.
I listened to it yesterday and it sounds great. You deserve the praise you're getting and I think Capitol should pay you big bucks to remix all their cast recordings, expecially the two Bock and Harnicks.

You listened to it yesterday and said NOTHING? We NEED your love, baby, not silence. What care I for perfect strangers, which is also a song title by Rupert Holmes.

DR George - Shall I head on down to East 46th Street for you? ;)
Yes, it is, DR JANE. We have a cash report everyday that we use to keep our books with - so we have a sales total, divided into cash sales & credit sales. So sorry to hear this. But at least if they are covered by insurance that is better.
The majority of our sales are by credit card, but we do have a big cash business as well.
Very distressing.

DR George, it's actually East 49th Street.

A jury summons?
The dreaded IRS letter?

Jennifer:QuoteEye vibes for DR Jane's hubby Keith. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thank you. He didn't enjoy the surgery finding it rather uncomfortable. Un the upside it didn't take long & wasn't painful. His eye itched a lot.
For the next several hours he complained he couldn't see along with it being very uncomfortable. He vision is now returning :). I think it might be uncomfortable & itchy for awhile longer but the relief of having vision again is great.
Tonight we'll find out if he's gay or European. I'm off.
I did not order a Follies CD, but I would like to know why it hasn't arrived yet.
One of my favorite vocalists, Tony Martin has passed away at age 98.

Called the AC company and they couldn't have been more nice about it. They wanted to come out today but I rode the bus to work. They will be here tomorrow afternoon which works for me. I would much rather leave work and not have to come back as opposed to having to into work after they leave.

I am so bummed that THE CLOSER is ending. Tonight's episode is quite interesting, with a really creepy opening.

Craig had a phone interview for a job as a para-educator (teacher's aid) today and was offered the position. His cleared it through his adviser at Johns Hopkins & will be accepting it tomorrow. The position includes full benefits. He will attend classes in the evenings.
I was so busy today that I didn't hear one spoiler about the Olympics and I'm really enjoying them tonight. Maybe I better get off the computer so the no spoilers doesn't change
I did not order a Follies CD, but I would like to know why it hasn't arrived yet.
So glad to hear that Keith's eye procedure went well and that Craig got a job.
Eye vibes to DS Keith. Jane, was this a cataract surgery? I'm glad things are improving. He was unable to see colors?
Congrats to DS Craig!
If you're so inclined, would you mind clicking on this link and "liking" my photo so I might win a Vera travel bag:

Thank you, VERA much!
Also, astonishingly, I got an e-mail from someone raving about Follies and telling me not to pay attention to the people on the castrec group - apparently someone or some people have been bitching about something. What is WRONG with these people? If someone can fill me in perhaps I'll have some fun with it.
I heard there's a sequel to THE CLOSER, which has largely the same cast.
DR John G, I also liked THE BOOK THIEF very much. I think you'll enjoy reading it, too. The book design is interesting, and makes it a visual experience, as well.I think I will read it after I finish school. I am enjoying it that much.
I know it's billed as young adult, but I found it pretty dark for YA.

Oh My God.
That's all I can say, having just listened to FOLLIES.
It's all new to me, so I have no points of reference. And I didn't sample the LP first. I'll do that later. Probably won't get far with it, but it'll be fun. I just dove right in. The CD just sounds truly wonderful.
And what a score. This book of the songs that I'd never opened up just became worth its weight in gold, though I'm sure I'll eventually want the actual score.
George, many thanks for the discs. They appear unbroken.
Night, all.
Good Evening!
I'm back from The Delacorte...
I really liked this production of Into the Woods. It's definitely not your mother or father's Into the Woods, and that's OK. -Although, I did get a kick out of one particular audience member who bitched and moaned as he filed out of the theatre, "The English have to mess up everything. They just can't leave well enough alone. It's because of all the Shakespeare they do. I'm sure Stephen Sondheim hates this production and will want to shut it down." -WHAT?!?!? In any case...
The weather cooperated wonderfully, and it was great to see such an amazingly talented cast on that stage. I may even try to see it again during the final week of its run.
You know, I don't think I have ever noticed the scoring on men's diving.
What's the purpose of scoring? That's what I say. ;)

::)
Re: Is he gay or European.
Elmore, Matthew was referring to a song from Legally Blonde. Or in his case, Legally Blonde, Jr.
