I am off to Toyland; I have to wait for a repair crew to check out the office's AC problem (yes, Toyland, too!): the AC works but the duct that moves the cold air to all of the offices in our suite needs a fix.

I got a nce email this morning from my close personal friend Stephen Rea, and that has me thinking that I want to see agan the 1970 filmed version of Chekhov's THREE SISTERS with Joan Plowright and Alan Bates.

All in one day.

Last night we did Act Three in about 35 minutes - it is the longest act of the play. We then did it again - and one actor decided to skip three pages.

I was waiting by the door to make my LAST entrance in my underpants when I heard it happen.....

I thought SOMEBODY would get us back on track....but after a couple of beats everyone just kept on. The director had said that there would be NO prompting....to get ourselves out of trouble if we had to.....and I had to get "upstairs" to get back into my clothes.....so at a random moment, I just opened the door and ran through the scene. Everyone stopped for a moment....made no comment....and just went on.

Hopefully that will NEVER happen during performance!

But we are finally in sight of funny!

The second run thru even with three pages gone ran 39 minutes.....which is a mystery.

It was a sort of "lost" recording that only was rediscovered a few years ago and released just last year.

One of our performers is having a devil of a time with lyrics and unfortunately it's my song - and he's totally messed with his head so I spent thirty minutes trying to undo that mess - the final time he ran it he was fine and I told, as I've told others, if you think you have a mental block you will have a mental block. If you approach it positively and figure out how to fix it rather than beating yourself up and basically knowing you're going to screw it up (which guarantees that you will), it will all be fine. I told him to go home and just drill it and get it into his mind and body - it IS a very wordy song.

As I was leaving my hotel room, I checked the back tire on my bike. It was flat. I knew I had had a slow leak, but I guess the inner tube finally just burst. After checking Google, I found a Brompton dealer in Decatur which was just off of the MARTA. So, I brought it out there. They were slammed today with other repairs so I had to leave it overnight, but since I wasn't really planning on riding it tonight that was OK. I should be done by Noon tomorrow, and I'll just head back out there to pick it up. I would have changed it myself, but since it was the rear tire, that would require dealing with the gear hub, and I'm not feeling that "brave" yet.

It was directed by the wonderful Baayork Lee, and it starred Ronobir Lahiri as "The King" and Victoria Mallory (of Anne Egerman and Young Heidi fame) as "I". The scenery panels have probably seen better days, but, otherwise, it was a very good production. And my friend, Jessica, was the Eliza, and that ballet still holds its magic.
