Well, you've read the notes, the notes were exotic, and now it is time for you to post until the exotic cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ECRU!
-
Morning all.
That is all.

Good morning, all! I gt to bed about 90 minutes later than I usually do, s I slept in for an hour. I was having another Drama Book shop dream when the alarm rang. I knew it was a dream, because I was caught up on all of my work there! So much of my time working there was spent tracking every penny on a shipment that I felt buried under nickels and dimes. There was much I loved about the job and I still miss a lot of my co-workers there.
I will shortly board a bus for Toyland, stopping at the post office on my way to post my estimated taxes and my other monthly payments. Today, I will work on BALLET BALLADS and perhaps the revisions to the opening sequence of the Appalachian show.
Tonight, I'm meeting my actor friend Alex Rice for dinner. I haven't seen him since last Christmas, and he's now a Carnegie Mellon graduate lookng for work as an actor. It will be nice to catch up.
Speaking of nice, it's nice to see that DR cillaliz is back.
DR John G, which production of ANNA KARENINA was this? Who played Anna? Also, how dd you know "There Ain't No Flies On Me" was cut? I didn't miss it.
And that's my day. More coffee!
-
I forgot to mention Reginald Marsh! BK, I have been collecting books on Marsh. In 1925, he designed the intermission curtain for DEAREST ENEMY, and it was mentioned in all of the reviews for its quality and wit. I am hoping that he kept a sketch or sketches for his design because it's the one aspect of the original DEAREST ENEMY designs not documented.
-
Good Morning!
I'm up, I'm up... And I'm having breakfast amongst a group of Russians.
-
As for the Topic of the Day...
"Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger" - I still remember seeing this at a drive-in with my family... In the rain... Twice... My dad ven bought that "shelter" that was basically sheets of plastic and suction cups to help(?) keep the rain off of the windshield.
"Jason and the Argonauts"
"Clash of the Titans" - When Harry Hamlin washes up shirtless on th beach, well... That was exotic. ::)
-
DR MBarnum - As for me riding the T for the first time yesterday... Well... Do you have any plans to ride the T for the first time?
-
And...
Some rain moved through earlier, which helped to sleep in another hour or so. However, I had sort of semi-planned to head out to Boston Common in the early hours to take pics. I guess not. But now that it has cleared up, I'm gonna take my bike out for a spin along the Charles River and then over to Cambridge.
Laters...

It's a beautiful early fall day in New York. The temperature is around 60 and will climb to the mid-70s.
I have to go to the library and return some DVDs and pick up Mati Hari with Garbo and Navarro. We will watch it tonight.
Tomorrow we may watch Hop, the animated Easter Bunny film.
I had a haircut at 8am this morning and then I went to the Greenmarket for a scone for our breakfast tomorrow morning.
I have continued my indoor biking (Jose is doing outdoors, I'm indoors) with 45 minutes a day (after the hour earlier in the week).
That's all for now.

And the word of the day is: ECRU!
And The Song Of The Day Is: COCOANUT SWEET

Saturday morning greetings! I was up quite early, reading and drinking coffee. Richard and I are going to the Y and then grocery shopping early enough to be home in time for Michigan's 3:30pm kickoff against Massachusetts.
-
Greetings from Toyland! I've opened the windows and started up the fans. It is indeed a beautiful morning in Manhattan, and I've accomplished all of my necessary tasks.
-

Have you had your vitamin D levels checked? Mine were very low and taking D makes a huge difference in fatigue for me
-
this morning I awoke to Boo hiding in the bathtub and Callie hiding in the basement and Ricky stalking both of them. I don't know if it was just kitty hide and seek, but I kept him away from them until I got the food out, windows open, brushing done. Now he's calmed down, so the others are calm. Sheesh!

Hi, DR Cillaliz - so glad to have you back!

DR CILLA LIZ is back.....
So much work to do.....I hope you find something nice on the sculpture walk today!
Boston vibes for DR JOSE.
Belated anniversary greetings for DR CP and his wife!

Our show was most entertaining last night. The audience was laughing from beginning to the end! Very enjoyable to be in and, I am assuming, to watch.
-
Another performance tonight of course.
-
I also love jungle pictures.....in fact since I am home today, I may watch the Jungle Jim movie on TCM at noon today.
-
BUT my favorite locale pictures are:
Three Coins in the Fountain and Rome Adventure.

DR JRand62, I'm hoping for a reference DVD to observe the effects of people behaving oddly on an assembled group of people.

It is quite a lovely day in Salem, Oregon 97301 as well. My plan is to not leave the house at all today. Hopefully this will help in my actually getting some things done.
-
Thanks Vixmom!
-
Hmmmm....will have to give some thought to the TOD. Lots of movies that I like...just need to think of what my favorites would be.

Good morning, all.
Been running like crazy already and ready for a nap.
Elmore, it was the version of Anna Karenina that the BBC did with Helen McCrory, a very young Kevin McKidd, Mark Strong, Stephen Dillane and others. I think it dates back to the early 2000s.
I knew the song was cut because of the reviews. If you didn't miss it, then that's OK.

I'm up after eight and a half hours of sleep and some of the weirdest dreams ever.

Today is September 15. On September 15, 1776, the British landed 4,000 soldiers at Kip's Bay to stop the American rebellion. This is the day on which DEAREST ENEMY occurs.
-
Dear friend Maureen is coming over tonight.

BK, you are probably the only person I know who would have creamed spinach as an evening snack. Not that there is anything wrong with that! I love creamed spinach, but I guess I just wouldn't think to buy it.

Actually I think your comment is unusual ;D Doesn't anything work for an evening snack?

I'm enjoying day one of two days of quiet.

Good Afternoon!
Greetings from Harvard University!
:)
-
It is an absolutely gorgeous Fall day here in Boston! The day started off a bit gray and cool, but now it's sunny and cool. Perfect bike riding weather.
-
So far today...
I biked from Boston to Cambridge.
Had a Sitcky Sticky Bun and a latte from Flour Bakery & Café. http://www.flourbakery.com/
Had Eggs Verde at City Girl Cafe. http://www.citygirlcafe.com/
Biked up and around the campus of Harvard University.
And now I'm taking a little break for a cup of tea - well, actually some Vanilla Maté - at Tealuxe. http://www.tealuxe.com/
-
I'm contemplating heading back towards the Charles River and taking the bike path around the Charles River Basin. It's a 14-mile loop, which, frankly, doesn't seem as long a trek as it used to be. :)

DR JRand - Congrats to you and your castmates on reaching "Funny".

DR vixmom - Sounds like you should just take one evening to decide to go to bed at a particular time and do so. Turn off the computer, turn off the ringers on your phone and turn out the lights. It's amazing what a night of "intentional" sleep can do for you.

One thing that I have noticed over the past 24 hours here in Boston is that there are an abundance of people who seem to lose all sense of personal space and common courtesy when waiting in lines for food. There was a family in front of me at Flour who were hugging very close to the table which acted like a divider for the lines to the cash register. They just stood in one spot while the line cleared a bit in front of them and began to build up behind them. I kindly asked them if they could move up a bit to help the line keep moving, and both the mother and the daughers proceeded to give me "that" look. And then anytime that I moved my bike out of the way for other people in line, they just continued to give me "that" look.
And then when I went to put my name on the list for a table at City Girl Cafe, this other woman who had come in after me, proceeded to give her name first. Thankfully, the hostess/waitress noticed that I had been their first, and put my name first in the queue. I even offered to go ahead and be seated after her and her friend since I was dining solo, but she went ahead and called my name before theirs. *And when their names were called, the hostess brought them inside, and then the manager reminded the waitress that they were saving the two tables for a larger party who had been waiting for a while. So, they had to go back to waiting... And were seated about 15 minutes later. -Karma, baby. Karma.

We are back from the Y and various errands and ready for some Mee-chigan football!
When we arrived at the Y, the parking lot was full but the doors were locked. We could see people inside and a staff member came to the door to tell us that they were searching for a missing child and couldn't let anyone in or out until she/he was found. We only had to wait a few minutes before they let us in and told us that a parent had taken said child out of a karate class and not informed anyone in charge. Whew!

Up from a nap and all I want to do is nap some more, but the telephonic device decided I had slept enough.

I am home, the apartment is vacuumed and I am waiting for my friend Alex to arrive. Perhaps we will go to Good Enough To Eat, my fave Upper West Side joint for dinner.
I needed to stop at the bank at 86th Street on my way home, and as I walked down Broadway, I ran into my friend Roberta and baritone Kyle Guglielmo who is so wonderful as Curly in the North Carolina School of the arts production of OKLAHOMA!
And I am halfway through the proof of "The Eccentricities of Davy Crockett." Thank God!

Change of plans - too darn hot to comp vocals at the engineer's non-air conditioned abode, so we'll begin that during the evening this week. I did hear some of the rough mixes and it does sound really good.
-
I had a sandwich and no fries.

I just came back from the Smart Chicks book tour. It was pretty fun. Lots of great female authors (two of which are favorites of mine). But unfortunately those two were the most popular and had separate lines. So after i'd already waited in line I had to re-wait twice. And I did so in the wrong order (picked my favorite author last and her line was the longest). So i ended up having to wait a while. But it was still fun.
Got some nice pictures. Thankfully I looked at the pics that were taken (they had someone there taking pics with your camera) while I was waiting in line. They were not good.
So i re-took a few and those were much better. The problem was the authors were behind the table and you were supposed to lean back. But if you are a foot ahead, and the author is 100 lbs. Then you end up looking like a big blimp.
So thankfully for my two favorite authors they let me go beside them. And those pictures came out really well.
-
I am hungry.
-
Tomorrow is my niece's birthday party. So i think i have to be at a mini golf place at around 9:30pm.

We're having beautiful weather in the DC area the last few days. I hope the 90+ degree days are over for the year.

When we lived outside the Boston area I was always impressed with how polite the people were, until they got into their cars. Things have apparently changed or they were tourists.

Have fun.

I also called my Auntie Ronnie who lives here in Boston - well, in Brookline...
My mom had called her a couple of weeks ago to tell her that I was coming up to Boston for a weekend. I know I probably should have called her before I came up, but, well... ??? So...
When I called her earlier, I asked if "Ronnie" was there. Well... Apparently, I should have asked if "Auntie Ronnie" was there. Hmmm... In any case...
She called me back a few minutes later after checking with her husband, Uncle Bruce, and we're going to meet for brunch tomorrow before they head to their house on Gloucester for a few days.
Now I'm just trying to figure out if I should pick a place to eat - she said we could eat wherever - or leave it up to her and Uncle Bruce.
Spoo.
-
I've been out all day doing errands and searching for an outfit for my nieces wedding. I was not successful. Finding a formal sundress isn't easy.
-
It is, I believe, about 103 degrees in the shade.
-
Gave the motor car a bath, and picked up one package.

The people here have been very nice, and also very respectful and aware of bike riders - at least on the routes I've been on.
I believe the family at the bakery this morning was there for a wedding weekend breakfast. There were about seven of them total. They had even called ahead and had seven of Flour's famous Sticky Sticky Buns set aside for them. I think they were just sort of in their own world. Their happiness had sort of blinded them. ::)
As for the woman at the brunch spot, well... The place is popular, and I guess she thought I was with the party who had given their name ahead of her. And I guess I could have been a bit more aggressive when it came to speaking up when the hostess came to take people's names. Maybe. ::)

I am hungry.
I'm not. ;)
Although, I will be meeting a friend in about 30 minutes for dinner in Chinatown.

I hope so too. Although, there's usually those one or two Dog Days of Summer that pop up at the end of September or the beginning of October. -Just be glad you're not in Houston - it stays hot and humid through Halloween.
-
Not a productive day. Only have two pages written on the paper that I refuse to get myself into the right mindset to write. Maybe in the coming week.

B) The tale of a box office manager at a summer theatre camp.

Or something like that.

I'd have a place picked out but give them a chance to pick first. If your aunt says again that it doesn't matter you'll have a suggestion ready to go and not have to worry that you stepped on any toes.

I was going to go to the sculpture walk, but drove by and really just didn't want to. so I went for a drive, ate breakfast out and then came home. I've done laundry, made beef vegetable soup, played with the cats and baked some brownies. The cats were pretty freaked out this morning. I'm not exactly sure why, but while I've been home today (with all the windows open on a beautiful day) they just check on me every once in a while and then go back to sleep. Go figure

I also got a letter in the mail that my car insurance doesn't want to pay for the emergency room and x-rays. It just irritates me. It's the same adjuster who never did return my calls about getting the check for my car. I'm sure between my health insuance and the car insurance I won't have to pay it ...well all of it, but it still irritates me

Jose, you should have very nice weather in Seattle next week. It is supposed to be between 70 and 80 degrees all week, with no rain expected.

"Blithe Spirit" tonight. Not as bad as I remember the movie being. Not perfect. Highly enjoyable so far.

I don't think I ever mentioned a little item I got on eBay cheap - a 35mm black-and-white MOS screen test for the Paramount version of Harlow - with Leslie Parrish testing. there's another actress' test on there, too, but I have to have these transferred to see who it is.

Interesting, I would have begun with my health insurance. If it is an accident do they decline until you apply to your car insurance company?

Come to think about it, I have not used my health insurance and have only charged the car insurance of the driver who hit me.

And...
I'm back from dinner.

As well as a lovely walk on the Greenway. -I'll need to check it out in the daylight, but by night, it sure was purty.

Alas, the numerous groups of bachelorettes walking around with either penis-shaped hats, "noses", baloons and stuffed animals weren't so purty.

I wanted to post this plateau of BK's yesterday when I was at work (when it happened), but for some reason, Photobucket wouldn't upload it at all. I kept getting an error message with no explanation.
Anyway, what's pretty cool is that this is his 66666th post and if he has posted only one second earlier, it would've been posted at 05:55:55! Finally, I was able to upload it today and here it is:

I had a very busy day. First I got up early and went to the arboretum for the annual butterfly count. Then we all went to the nearby very small town and had lunch at a Mexican restaurant. They were having a sidewalk festival of some kind and the place was really slammed, so it took a really long time. I made the 1.5 hour drive home and started making stuffed shells for my son's birthday dinner. Afterwards he and I went to IKEA and he got a stand for his big screen tv and I made a complicated exchange.

I still haven't looked to see if any of my photos turned out.

I don't think I ever mentioned a little item I got on eBay cheap - a 35mm black-and-white MOS screen test for the Paramount version of Harlow - with Leslie Parrish testing. there's another actress' test on there, too, but I have to have these transferred to see who it is.
How did Leslie do in her screen test. I think she might have made a rather good Harlow.

I finished a very enjoyable, if campy, Bollywood Tarzan film titled JUNGLE LOVE (1990) starring Rocky, Kirti Singh and Disco Shanti.
Poor Disco gets eaten by a giant spider.
Quite an enjoyable film, and Tarzan learned to speak Hindi in an amazingly quick rate of time which of course helped the plot move along just that much easier.
I have about a dozen more Hindi Tarzan films to get through...and they look like great fun! Perhaps you'd like to join me.
Here are a few samples:

Just to get the post totals up, here is my favorite studio potrait of my friend and interviewee actor jeffrey Stone who passed away last month. He had a wonderful lot of stories to tell, but I suspect he had a slight problem with sex addiction...though I don't think he felt it was a bad thing ;)

His novel and his autobiography can both be found on Amazon.com if you are interested.

I haven't left my house at all today. I've been burning DVDs to clear off my DVRs and DVD burners. When I got to bed, I'll set my upstairs DVD burner to record the first chunk of last Thursday's tribute to Mack Sennett (it's the second of four nights) to my DVD burner. I could only record about two hours at a time, but I was able to get the whole evening. :)
-
On my downstairs DVD burner, I'm finally burning a couple of DVDs of all the "America's Got Talent" clips that I've recorded...the earliest is from 2008! I don't have everything, just guest performers and contestants that I liked. It all only adds up to about two-and-a-half hours.

And now, I'm going to bed.

Wow, that's quite a milestone or a millstone. Back from The Faculty about which more later.
