I think this afternoon is when I'll go see Baz Luhrmann's THE GREAT GATSBY. I have low expectations. Actually, zero expectations. But it's one of those things I can't quite NOT see. Also, I figure if you're going to see something so ridiculously outrageous (actually, I think in this case, it's outrageously ridiculous), you should go all the way, and that's why I'll see it in 3D.
I am SO glad these things don't cost me anything. It pays to have a manager friend. I even get my complimentary popcorn and Coke Zero handed to me on a silver platter. Actually, I don't think the platter has all that much silver content in it. In point of fact, it feels rather flimsy. Have to ask about that when I'm there.
I loved BALLROOM, too, when I finally watched it which was only a few months ago.
I remember originally liking the setting of ROMEO + [sic] JULIET but have no idea what I'd think of it now. Have only seen a few clips from MOULIN ROUGE. Never saw the BOHEME. That wasn't even filmed, was it?
Has any DR seen the OSCAR & FELIX update of THE ODD COUPLE by Mr Neil Simon?
"They" meaning daredevil workmen who are on platforms many stories high.
It's not what we had before (most of you won't remember) but I can't find that audio file anywhere on the Internet.

Hopefully MR BK is feeling better.
My question for ASK BK Day:
What is your favorite Neil Simon play?
Which Neil Simon play was most successful as a film?
Now that is a showdown I would dwfinitelybwatch - DR Elmore3003 versus the Downey Droids!!,

I was unable to copy the file from there to the HHW e-mail. I attach it below, however.

A Proud Graduate of the Vixmom School of Typing
Let's see what this looks like. It's relatively recent, except I haven't had a full beard in a year. And the gray is still there.
So, no one did what the notes suggested and went to the "Now Playing" section to hear a sample track from the release we're about to announce? Why even have those buttons on the left if we're not going to use them and check them out every so often?

The operative word is Proud. Proud, I tell you. :D
I've done it twice.

Define... Oh, never mind. ;)
Okay, several things: Can someone who has a small avatar re-upload it - when you re-upload it should now be the same size as the bigger avatars. Furthermore, can someone make a post in either quick reply or reply, but don't post it for ten minutes, then post - if you don't get a time-out then we've fixed that, too.
If only I had his salary.Let's see what this looks like. It's relatively recent, except I haven't had a full beard in a year. And the gray is still there.
DR JohnG, you look like Matthew Broderick with a beard, and I am not referring Sarah Jessica!
Hopefully MR BK is feeling better.

You didn't ask me, but I love THE SUNSHINE BOYS.
I was lucky enough to see it with Jack Albertson and Sam Levene.
Is that about Jack Wagner?

Wondering if I've done the right thing to enlarge my avatar...
The only thing about the avatars is that the new ones that have just been uploaded do not show up in the list of avatars when you "Choose avatar from gallery." Does that mean that ANY time we want to change one, and then change it back, we have to re-upload the previous avatar that we want to reuse? Or is there a way to have the newly uploaded avatars show up in that list? I'll also re-post this in the Technical Board.

I feel we are now getting into very nitpicky territory - we've tried to give everyone everything they want and we pretty much have, and I guess we'll try to do this, but if we can't then we can't.
I really enjoyed meeting DR Doug. We ate at an Italian restaurant near my hotel in Kings Cross. It's always nice meeting fellow HHWs in different locations!
Enjoyed the audio and video clips in today's notes. And, bk, I hope you awake feeling 100% better.
I had a bad case of food poisoning that landed me in the hospital for several days and the lingering effects of it lasted for 1 1/2 years. I went through many tests, some twice, and never found any cause for the problems I was having.
VIBES and XYLOPHONES that BK is done heaving.
My own bouts with food poisoning -- the cases you KNOW are food poisoning because they're just so graphic and exciting -- have always hit me late at night, run throughout the night, and leave me as limp as a dishrag the following day. But nausea is nausea, and I hate it almost worse than scary spiders.

Oh, here's something I've meant to ASK BK for a while now:
Your descriptions of Furball's antics are absolutely uncanny. They NEVER miss. Does this come out of personal experience with cats? Maybe I'm forgetting something from the memoirs, etc.?
Ron we do have that now. Just click on the Haines his way at the top of the page
Perhaps the photos were too large for our board, or too many in one post. It's best to host that kind of stuff at photobucket or tiny pic, otherwise we'll find ourselves with a full upload folder in the not too distant future.

Wednesday.
DR TCB the reason that there is an ensemble is twofold:
To sell tickets & to shut up the people who think it is our job to give their brats an opportunity to be onstage.....IN ADDITION TO THE TWO FREE WORKSHOPS we do every year.

I have no personal experience with cats, other than I'm horribly allergic to them. But I've observed many cats and take notes :)
I definitely feel a bit better - a little queasy still, but thankfully the food seems to have gone down okay.

Thanks, DR Jane, on both counts.
30 minutes on the treadmill and 20 on the NuStep were very invigorating.
La Jole Femme speaks, having purloined her husband's account, because she has misplaced her password (again!). Hello all you HAINES HIS WAY folks. And thank you EVER so for my birthday greetings. The one where you get the Medicare card is often a dismal thing. But enough of me. I want to thank our Fearless Leader for his help in being the One, the Only, the Unique go-to person for anything regarding forgotten Broadway. When I got my assignment (a cabaret), I knew he was the one guy who could help me find the obscure and unremembered songs I needed. So, off to "Lost In Boston" I go. And a better 4-volume set there never existed! (because it is the ONLY one ever produced!). Thanks, Fearless Leader. I now promise at least a weekly visit to follow more closely your escapades. Send me a password. I am old. Love to all!!!!!
Good Evening Everyone,
DR George I just received my DVD. How nice of you to record and send to me. I am looking forward to viewing. it. I'll let you know how what I thought of it. Thank you so much!!
George, you're out of luck - one avatar at a time and this is the way their updated software now works.
Since I'm stuck home waiting for delivery, I decided I would do laundry and all hell is breaking loose at the laundromat. The Downy Fabric Softener people have taken over the place; there are decals all over the floors, every washer has a big Downy poster stuck to it facade, photographers are going crazy, the ratio of people is one customer to about five Downy ladies in white uniforms offering to do your laundry - and pay for it - for you. What they were not prepared for was my bad attitude about unsolicited favors and unwanted hoards.
It's timing out in less than five minutes, BK!

I think that if you knew that was to be the case beforehand, you'd take them some CLEAN laundry to do, avoiding any possible chance of embarrassment.

No, it's about several operas I've slept through. Nothing like Wagner for insomnia!

I see new old Mike.
And I see DR JOHN G's bird photos!
I am working on the CHARLIE BROWN photos....some of them are nice.
I need to call my cousin Bruce and find out how his niece is doing. Hollie and her family were in a serious accident over the holiday. She broke her leg, near the knee, in 3 places and had to have surgery. After 7 days in the hospital she mentioned on facebook she was home and that is when I found out about the accident. Her mother was another family member of mine that succumbed to cancer. The rest of the family had minor injuries.Vibes and prayers for all involved.
