Well, you've read the notes, the notes had hope and were eternal, and now it is time for you to post until the eternal cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: DISPORT!
-
ha! First post after MR BK!
It's been a long time since I did that!
-
Taking someone a REAL comic book is the WAY plays should be done. Audiences NOTICE those things....and if they don't, they're looking at their phones.
-
In this instance, it just took me right out of the play.
-
Good morning to all
-
TOD
The Montreal Gazette or Montreal Star movie section.
Sunday NY Times Theater Section.
Weekly Variety used to have an annual edition.
-
Thanks, TCb, for your thoughts last night.
-
T.O.D.
I'd probably have the movie sections of the early to mid 1950s. Great ads back then.
Back when I was a kid, I used to collect the press books. The theater managers would give them to me after a picture closed.
I wish I still had them. They'd be worth a lot of $ now.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Got just a couple of hours to relax before a rehearsal.
-
Vibes to all, especially those impacted or potentially impacted by Irma.
-
T.O.D.
Easy. Every year of every place I've lived. Any of these would be a precious find.
1955-1960 Columbus
1960-1967 Fort Lauderdale
1967-1972 Cleveland
1972-1989 Los Angeles
1985-1986 Chicago
1989-1996 or so, wouldn't need later ones, Danbury
For me, it's more about the listings than actual ads, even though some ads would be great. I'd be delighted, for instance, just to have that half-page (?) "neighborhood listing" from the L.A. Times.
-
Our director has established a nice email rapport with Mr. T. Jones, who sent him his latest revision along with his approval to use whatever works for us, old (ahem, thank you very much, sir) or new.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I used to love the Sunday New York Times Arts section for those full-page ads. Many of the movies I wanted to see, however, didn't open in Kentucky until much later. But I, like BK, do remember the theaters in which I saw many of the movies. When I saw Wise Blood, for example, I was the only person in the theater, which is now the dollar theater that's close to my parents' house.
Also remember seeing everything from Das Boot to Rocky to Sleeping Beauty there.
I never saw a lot of movies, except for the art house flicks, on opening night. If you didn't see those on opening night, you might blink and miss them. I remember wanting to see some movie and waiting until Wednesday to go. By then, the audience had been so small that they yanked it.
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR JRand67, I was so angry over the length of my trip to the East Side that I completely missed your family tragedy. I send my condolences to all of you.
-
I slept really really late this morning - 9+ hours - and I'm still pondering my day.

In this instance, it just took me right out of the play.
It always does this to me as well......and people in movies driving their 50's/60's cars with the gear shift up in the park position.....or having cars NEWER than the year they say the movie is set in....it's worse though with props in a play for me...because you're right there....SOMEONE SHOULD KNOW!
-
Thank you DR ELMORE and all other Dear Readers for your kind comments.
I am still getting used to the idea of a "viewing" without the person there....just a cremation urn....but I also appreciate that it is easier for many people to do it that way.....
-
Saturday morning greetings! I'm decked out in my maize and blue for Michigan's first home game of the season - Go, Blue!
-
Thank you DR ELMORE and all other Dear Readers for your kind comments.
I am still getting used to the idea of a "viewing" without the person there....just a cremation urn....but I also appreciate that it is easier for many people to do it that way.....
Condolences, DR JRand. I'd call the gathering a "visitation," but hope it's comforting whatever you call it.
-
Safety vibes for all in Irma's path!
-
I'm up, I'm up - five and a half hours of sleep - not enough.
-
Condolences to Jrand.

When is Irma supposed to land?

Nice review for last Sunday's Kritzerland show: http://www.haineshisway.com/2017/09/the-songs-that-got-away-vii-reviewed-by-rob-stevens/

DR George, CONGRATULATIONS on the results of your blood tests. Keep up the good work.

Snickers Caramel Apple Salad. It is a dessert.

Thank goodness it is a dessert, still I don't want any of it.
-
I decided to make a trip to the 68th Street post office since I detest my local one so much. Now that I'm home, I have no plans.
-
Good morning.
-
I went hiking today up my mountain -- first time in a long time. I need to ice my foot now.
-
Elmore, I stopped at the pet store where they have rescue kittens. There were two adorable gray tabbies rubbing up against the window, and a tux doing the same. I had to leave.
-
Vibes your foot feels better by this afternoon.
-
thank you DR GINNY and MR BK.....in fact I think they did call it a visitation, I didn't see the notice in the newspaper....the memorial talk is this afternoon.
-
Congrats to MR BK on the review and congrats to DR GEORGE on the review of his play -- it sounds fascinating....if you have GOOD actresses....which you obviously do.
-
My brother-in-law and sister-in-law (DH's brother and his wife) are in Orlando, awaiting their shelter volunteer assignment. Because they are better than I am.
-
Wow DR Laura. Good for them but do they rescue and foster kittens? They are just different, not better :)
-
Good afternoon!
-
It's a beautiful day in Northern Virginia--70 degrees and partly sunny skies. And best of all: low humidity!
-
Condolences to JRand and family.
-
That was a nice article, DR FJL! I'm glad to hear your parents are in a safe place.
-
DR George, CONGRATULATIONS on the results of your blood tests. Keep up the good work.
Such good news!

You should have taken them all home with you. I'm afraid that's what I will do!

It is probably lower than ours, so odd ;D

Hi all. Just wanted to let you know that as of now I am doing ok. I am as prepared as I can be, I have a propane generator , 2 tanks, several cases of water and a water bob for the bathtub that I will fill tomorrow morning. I have a hand crank radio and flashlights so I won't run out of power for them. Toby has lots of can food and treats. I have his tag and a new name tab with my name and phone number on it. If you go to Facebook you can see that I put covers over the windows. I don't know if they will hold or not but I think it will be better then tape. I did the best job I could. There was no way I could lift plywood even if I could have found it. I'm making ice right now and will be doing as much laundry as possible so I have mostly clean clothes. They say the power will be going out and will be out for maybe 5 days or longer so I don't know when I'll be able to post or get a message out that Toby and I are ok. I'm sure the cell towers will go down as well as the wi-fi. Vibes and prayers are welcome. God willing Toby and I will come though this like we have all of life's hurricanes--we've sure had our share of them but if not, for whatever reason, know I love you all. Also know I have the most important thing for this hurricane--my lotto tickets, I'll be damned if I was going to let my numbers come up after 29 years and miss them because of a little wind and rain. Hugs!

Oh, my! It looks good, but I don't know about chunks of apple and Snickers together.
-
I bought the ingredients for the salad.
-
Mega vibes for DR Danise and Toby.
-
I had an omelet and a bagel, did a few things, and am now home and not going anywhere. Did some more garage stuff, too.

When Sony/BMG released their inexpensive Ormandy Conducts Sibelius set I naturally got it, as I wanted to hear the 70s RCA recordings, which I didn't care for at ALL - performances were okay but not great and sound was so sub-Columbia that it was hard to get past it. But they also included all his Columbia stereo stuff, and that sounded as splendid as always although I have other performances that I like better. But for some wacky reason what they didn't include were his mono Sibelius recordings from the early 1950s. Since they included symphonies four and five I was most irritated as I really wanted to hear them because the only time he recorded the fifth in stereo was in the 70s for RCA and I really don't like it. But some company overseas did a vinyl transfer of the two Ormandy mono Sibelius albums - the two symphonies and then two tone poems, The Swan of Tuolena and Finlandia. So, I got that and I just heard it and the fourth symphony is fantastic, and the fifth is a stunner - maybe, musically, my favorite version ever now. Yes, it's mono so it doesn't sound as enveloping as the stereo versions I have, but it's good mono (one can only imagine what the tapes sound like if the vinyl transfer is this decent), and the engineering is superb. So happy with this and am about to listen all over again. I'm also lending a period comic book to the Lost in Yonkers production so that it looks like it should.

PAGE THREE DANCE!!

Hello, everyone.
-
VERY GOOD, DR George! Keeping your blood sugar in the normal range is very important. You'd mentioned taking some supplements to help. You've changed your diet a bit, too?
Congrats on the other scores, too. You'll save yourself grief later by doing well now.
-
Vibes of comfort to Jrand. I'm sorry for your loss.
-

-
Congrats to BK on his good review and to DR George and company on their production.
-
And now, I must be off. I need to go to my sister's and help take down a canopy that I helped put up last night. Today, she had a garage sale to benefit the Olympia chapter of PFLAG and many items were kept under the canopy. She and her boyfriend are on the PFLAG board.
-
I don't know if I'll be back before tonight's performance of Silent Sky. There's a potluck cast party after the show and I need to get something to bring. I'll probably be able to post during the show, but after the show I won't be back until tomorrow.
Have a good day, all!
-
Continued vibes to all those affected by the hurricanes and other adverse weather events.

Thanks, Jeanne! I have been taking supplements, but nothing that I've read said that they really work, so I'll stop taking (and paying for) them to see what happens. ::)
;)
-
And NOW I'm off!
-
I'd just like to mention that when BK or any of our DRs does a garage project or other major culling it motivates me to do the same here. I'm not always able to follow through on that, but motivation is a good thing. Thanks!

On more than one occasion I stopped something, thinking it wasn't working, only to feel worse. It WAS working! Sometimes you have to experiment a bit to know.
-
I'm off, too.
TTFN.
-
Thanks all!
-
I gotta tell you.
-
And I'll just leave it at that.
-
One fly down - hopefully there won't be any others.
-
Listening to The Swan of Tuolena - great performance.
-
Had a lovely conversation with both Elizabeth and Richard Sherman. I'll go visit them mid-next week - I told them I'd bring Genghis Cohen food over.
-
And I'll just leave it at that.
-
Had a computer freeze, too. That hasn't actually been happening that much lately.

Glad to see Danise is safe and prepared. Sending strongest prayers and vibes

Laura please thank your inlaws for me. I pray that the Vixter, VixBF and freinds will have no need to avail themselves of their services
-
VixBFs family have found shelter... They were all set to ride it out at their home in Fort Myers but the evacuation area was expanded this morning and they had to find a place to go
-
DR Danise,
EXCELLENT VIBES YOU NOT ONLY COME THROUGH THIS HURRICANE JUST FINE, BUT THAT YOU ALSO WIN THE LOTTERY!

VixBFs family have found shelter... They were all set to ride it out at their home in Fort Myers but the evacuation area was expanded this morning and they had to find a place to go

SAFE VIBES FOR THE VIXBF'S FAMILY

SAFE VIBES FOR THE VIXTER & HER BOYFRIEND!

Continued vibes for our Florida and Texas friends on HHW.

Thank you, KevinH!

We went for an evening stroll expecting warm 78 degree weather. There was definitely a chill in the air and a very cool breeze. I wished I had added a light layer over my t-shirt. As we walked I could feel the temps dropping. I asked Siri the temperature and she said "It is 75 degrees. Hot". Hot, really! With the chill factor, and then wet from a light rain it seemed much colder ;D

Jane, like most robots, Siri is quite cold-blooded. 75 degrees seems quite hot to her. ;)

I have been refreshing my memory of "Prometheus" before watching the sequel, "Alien: Covenant", tonight.

Keith is popping corn.

Major vibes for DR Danise!~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Went dancing tonight. Good to be back on the floor.

I hope I'm not doing too much too fast.

Watching a dreadful movie called Forbidden Zone with Herve Villachaize.

It's worse than it needs to because it wants to be bad.

What I was taking and will drop is chromium/cinnamon gelcaps. I started taking them because I'd read that they might possibly help regulate/lower blood sugar levels. When I talk to my doctor about my latest results, I'll ask her about that...if I should continue, and if not, can I get another A1C test sooner to see sooner if it made any difference.
-
Well, the house tonight was oversold! They had to add a few chairs and even then, they had to send about five people away!
-
And the audience is LOVING it! There are three young women who are especially loving everything. It's so much fun just to watch their reactions to what's happening. :D

Intermission is almost over.
Gotta go!

Good evening!

Tonight is the opening "gala" for Tacoma Little Theatre's 99th season.
-
It is basically a fundraiser / season preview.
-
The first show of the season actually opens next Friday.
-
So, why am I posting instead of attending the gala?
-
Because I am sick in bed.
-
Nothing major (I hope).

Things I read said that cinnamon doesn't really do anything, so use what you want in cooking and add it to any foods you want. The pills aren't useful at all for blood sugar control.

Hello, Vixmom.
-
The show is almost over. They LOVED it! After tonight's performance, we're having a cast party.
Be back later...much later!
-
So, I have spent the afternoon and evening watching TV and napping.

Nicky has been a very good nurse.

He has been sleeping curled up next to me on the bed, or sleeping in his own bed.

Greetings, 1 Guest!

Much cooler here today.
-
They say it will be back up to 80 on Monday, but I am not so sure.
-
Tomorrow is the fist game of the season for the Seattle Seahawks.
-
We are playing in Green Bay where we haven't won since 1999.
-
I'll watch it, but I am not sure I am going to enjoy it.

Hello, Jane.
Hi Tom. I hope you are feeling better.
-
My allergies have been bothering me. I expect the smoke and weather changes have something to do with it. It really is mild, however, my walking partner has informed me she has a bad cold so of course I am now paying closer attention to my mild allergies ;D
-
Been watching stuff on the Flix of Net.
-
I must read as I have too many books checked out from the library and I have been neglecting them.
-
I just finished watching the end of the Washington State vs. Boise State football game.

Washington State won in the third overtime.

That was one long game.

How unseemly.

Where in tarnation IS everyone?
