Well, you've read the notes, the notes somehow did not post and I somehow did not change the topic, and now it is time for you to post up a storm because somehow things went awry and the cows need to come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CERVINE!
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of needed sleep.
-
I got home last night around twelve-forty and wrote the notes. I "think" I went to the form and pasted them in and clicked on publish - maybe I didn't click correctly or something and I obviously didn't change the topic - it's a mystery and a conundrum, not necessarily in that order.
-
I was tired, so there's that.
-
Page one? Really?
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone? Oh, reading the notes, which are interesting AND which really were written last night.
-
Good morning/afternoon Bruce.
-
It has happened before. Fortunately you posted from home before falling asleep ;D
-
I am in the middle of a project and will read the notes in a little bit.
-
Good afternoon, everyone!
-
I spent the morning housecleaning and taking things to the basement. I -paid a bill and jad a helluva time with iTunes in an effort to burn a CD. I was not amused.
-
Happy Saturday, everyone!
-
Howdy, y'all!
-
Is this thing working?
Good afternoon, all! :)
-
What is this page one malarky?
-
Got a very nice e-mail from a UK lurker/dear reader - he's written before - who, thanks to the notes, has discovered the music of William Grant Still, which I wrote about when I was listening to all that - he loves the music and has bought several CDs I talked about. I love when people take chances on new things - it means I'm doing something right. :)
-
This morning I decided a Sausage McMuffin was in order, and so I went and ordered one.
And as our McDonald's is next door to our Costco, I wondered what the intense police presence was all about. Turns out, Hillary Clinton was due to arrive there to sign books for two hours. (People hoping to actually get in apparently had to begin lining up at, like, 4:30 AM.)
I ate, and then went next door in the other direction to the local car place, where I got an oil change, tire rotation, and front end alignment. I daresay we can all use a front end alignment now and then. But I digress. I also was presented with an estimate for a tune-up and some damned car part that needs replacing, all of which total another $800 smackers.
And then I came home. And I'm doing laundry. The End.

I also daresay no one wants to sit through an hour-long podcast emanating from deepest darkest Connecticut about our upcoming I Do! I Do! -- but if you should decide to chance it, you can hear our lovely cast who turn out to be exceptionally good on "radio". As an added bonus, buried somewhere in there is a nice but certainly undeserved shout-out for Yrs Truly, and you'll even get to hear our lovely duo read the local weather report. I tell you, it doesn't get better than that.

I'm playing phone tag with someone - he calls, I can talk but he's pulling into a parking thing and says he'll call back in a few minutes. I then notice my dropbox icon is grayed out - I can still get their via finder and when I hover the cursor over the icon I get the Apple spinning beach ball. So, I called Apple and she suggested restarting, I did, and it fixed it - but starting up again lately has been slow so we undid a few useless things that were starting up automatically when I restarted - that should help. Now the only things that will auto start when I reboot are Word and Mail. But while I was doing that the guy called back so I told him I was on the phone with Apple and would call him right back. I did, but it went to voice mail so it's his turn now.
-
I could have turned that epic into five posts.
-
All I could think of last night when Julian Craster was on top of Victoria Page several times in their romantic pas de deux moments was - get me off this damn Victoria Page.
-
What is this page one malarky?
;D
-
Oops, forgot to read the notes!
-
TOD: Does Saturday Night Fever count as a film about the dance?
-
Of course, Back to the Beach was about the Jamaica Ska, in a way.
-
Saturday afternoon greetings! Glad to see that BK is OK and HHW is back to normal.
-
Page one? Really?
-
Michigan had more difficulty beating Air Force than they should have, but I'll take it!
-
No call so I'm gonna go get something to eat - not sure what.
-
TOD - I loved THE TURNING POINT, but many people did not.
Yay, page 2, at 4:30pm EDT.

I've always liked it, and Nijinsky with Alan Bates.

That was fun!
-
I shall listen to the PODCast later today.....I am interested.
-
I am so happy that the world has righted itself, the notes are in place, and we are posting on the CORRECT day!
-
For some reason I knew THE RED CHEWS was a ballet about ballet - maybe I saw an article or photo or video someplace on the innerwebz.
It looked most interesting - I am glad to have MR BK's take on it.
-
TOD:
The Red Shoes
The Company
The Black Swan
-
I'm up from a nap.
-
I wish I were still asleep
-
Must get ready to usher
-
Emmanuel Ax is performing tonight.
-
I love Altman's movie The Company but I found Black Swan to be what I'd imagine a bsd acid trip.
-
Finished two books today.
-
One was a 17-hour reading if Walt Whitman's Leaves of Grass.
-
The other was Proust Was a Neuroscientist, about art and science. Fascinating but overly technical.
-
Yes you are correct about THE BLACK SWAN DR JOHN G.....but a bad acid trip is a trip nonetheless....
I will also add:
STEPPING OUT - with Liza Minnelli about a adult tap dance group....
AND
STRICTLY BALLROOM - "There are NO NEW Federation steps!"
-
I shall listen to the PODCast later today.....I am interested.
I forgot to say you can, of course, skip the songs.
-
I fell asleep for what must have been a much needed nap. Got about an hour, and now I'm groggier than all hell.
-
I am so happy that the world has righted itself, the notes are in place, and we are posting on the CORRECT day!
Alas, DR Jrand67, I read this on the iPad, on which I'm sorry to report that you are still lying face down.
-
The story of my life DR CHAS SMITH.
-
I also liked Billy Elliott and White Nights, though James Goldman's script for the latter was nowhere near the level of Follies.
-
I have put on too much weight in the two months that I've not been dancing.
-
I hope I can be active enough to take some of it off quickly.
-
I fell asleep for what must have been a much needed nap. Got about an hour, and now I'm groggier than all hell.
Tell me. Half an hour and a shower later, i still feel the same.
-
Liz Callaway's mother, Shirley, has died.

-
I liked WHITE NIGHTS, too.....

That was fun!
I listened to about half of the program, enjoying it immensely. Then I paused to get started on our dinner and I was going to finish listening while the tuna casserole bakes. But, it took me back to the beginning and wouldn't let me fast-forward. I'll hear the rest when I have time for the whole thing. Wish I could see the show!

I've bever seen The Black Swan, and I think I may have seen Stepping Out, but I'm not sure. :-\ If I have, it's been many years, and probably not the whole thing.
But I absolutely LOVE Strictly Ballroom! :D

Oh, no! :(
-
Back from a tiny pepperoni pizza - very good.
-
Shirley Callaway was lovely - we rehearsed all of Liz's solo albums in Shirley's apartment, right next to the Walter Kerr Theater (I think it's the August Wilson now).
-
TOD - I loved THE TURNING POINT, but many people did not.
I liked it.

Ginny (and anyone else), there is a link to download the MP3 audio file and listen to it at your leisure. That's what I did.
-
I also liked Billy Elliott and White Nights,
My top two along with the 1996 Japanese film "Shall We Dance?".
-
I have put on too much weight in the two months that I've not been dancing.
I am sorry. Can you walk instead?
-
Well, I have been lying (laying?) in bed all day, doing nothing but surfing the 'net. I haven't done any laundry or even watched TV!
-
I need to get up, get showered, get dressed, get fed and get going because tonight is the last performance of Olympia Little Theatre's very successful production of Lauren Gunderson's play, Silent Sky.
-
As of yesterday evening, tonight's show was about 3/4ths sold, but I don't doubt that it'll be sold out by the time the show starts. :)
-
I love the Japanese Shall We Dance - did that ever come out on Blu-ray and if so do I have it?
-
I haven't heard that anything is happening tonight after the show, other than strike. And for that I was told that I really only have to help clean up the tech deck, which will be SO easy! I'll just need to take my script and I'm pretty much done. ;)
-
I'm sure that there's a little more to it. I'll certainly help where it's needed. I won't just take off when the show's over.
-
So, have a good rest of the evening, everyone!
Be back later.
-
I want a tiny pepperoni pizza....
-
I think I will watch LA LA LAND which is having its HBO premiere in about half an hour.....perhaps I will like it.....
-
I'm having trouble hearing Chas' link - could someone report what was said about Chas?
-
I love the Japanese Shall We Dance - did that ever come out on Blu-ray and if so do I have it?
Do you keep a catafalque of everything you own?
-
I could add "Dirty Dancing" to my list.
-

That change of my catalog typo to catafalque is too funny to correct.
cat·a·falque
ˈkadəˌfalk/Submit
noun
a decorated wooden framework supporting the coffin of a distinguished person during a funeral or while lying in state.
-
Of course there are wonderful Astaire, Rogers, etc films I could mention.
-
I don't really catalog much of anything - I should - but I don't have the time.
-
I could add "Dirty Dancing" to my list.
Me, too!
-
Good evening!
-
I'm so glad to know all is right in Haineshisway world!
-
I took my friend Dan to a Subaru dealership in Maryland today.
-
He left with a 2018 black Subaru Forrester.
-
It took about four hours
-
I then drove myself in my 2001 Toyota Camry.
-
Almost there.
-
One more
-
Page 4!
-
And?
-
Bruce your comment on fb regarding the story of the man who got his head stuck where it was impossible to do was too funny not to share with Keith. He had a good laugh over it.
-
DR JANE your spellcheck was the BEST ever.....right up there when someone was trying to type Jackie Onassis and it came out:
Jackie On Assistance.
-
I want a tiny pepperoni pizza....
That sounds good!
-
He left with a 2018 black Subaru Forrester.
Nice!
-
The house is almost full. Very good for the final performance...a little more sedate than other audiences, but they're enjoying it.
-
I am watching THE BOYFRIEND on TCM....it is NOT a ballet.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I started THE GOVERNOR on Acorn TV. It's written by Lynda Laplante, who wrote PRIME SUSPECT. It's good; I'll watch the rest.
-
Then, having had my fill of murder and mayhem, I returned to an old favorite, AIN'T MISBEHAVING', with a young (and cheeky) Robson Green (GRANTCHESTER). In it, Jerome Flynn sings A Nightingale Sang in Berkely Square, which was was made me think of it. It's a fun show, with great 1940s music.
-
It is also not a ballet.
-
I don't really catalog much of anything - I should - but I don't have the time.
Ah, but do you catafalque them?
-
Eager to hear about the Vix vacation in PA. I hope Vixmom and Vixdad had a nice time; it must have been difficult, given the circumstances.
-
I fell asleep for what must have been a much needed nap. Got about an hour, and now I'm groggier than all hell.
Don't you just hate that? FINALLY able to get a bit of much-needed sleep, and BAM! You feel WORSE for it!
Life's not fair!
-
Good night.
-
DR JANE your spellcheck was the BEST ever.....right up there when someone was trying to type Jackie Onassis and it came out:
Jackie On Assistance.
I feel honored ;D
-
I don't really catalog much of anything - I should - but I don't have the time.
Ah, but do you catafalque them?
😁
-
I didn't know this, but the astronomy people are back with their telescopes tonight! More star-gazing! :D
-
I don't know if we'll need to do strike before the telescoping, or will get to wait with the strike. I'll find out soon enough. The show's almost over...then it will be over!
-
It's amazing we're on page four when you think about it, but that won't stop me from saying: Page four? Really?
-
I also liked Billy Elliott and White Nights,
My top two along with the 1996 Japanese film "Shall We Dance?".
The original Shall We Dance is one of my favorite movies of all time. The American remake was a joke.
-
I don't really catalog much of anything - I should - but I don't have the time.
Amen
-
Near the top of my favorites list is The Band Wagon, which does feature Miss Cyd Charisse dancing ballet.
-
The concert tonight was exhilarating. Ax played the Beethoven Piano Concerto No. 5 "Emperor." Also on the program was the fifth symphony and the Egmont Overture. .
-
Of course, I kept thinking of The Cradle Will Rock during the Egmont Overture. It's the theme that Mrs. Mister has the horn of her light blue Pierce Arrow tuned to play.
-
Harry Dean Stanton has died. He was 91. I just saw him this week in Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid.
I hear his latest movie, Lucky, features his best performance yet.
-
I also liked Billy Elliott and White Nights,
My top two along with the 1996 Japanese film "Shall We Dance?".
The original Shall We Dance is one of my favorite movies of all time. The American remake was a joke.
Not surprising.
-
Just finished Renoir's Experiment in Terror. Not his best, but still couldn't take my eyes off of it. It's an odd take on the Jekyll and Hyde story. The scenes in which the monster attacks other people are staged almost like slapstick comedy from a silent film, so you don't know whether to laugh or vomit. Maybe that's what he was going for, but it didn't sit well with me.
-
Let's move on.
-
Five!
-

Not surprising.
That it's a favorite with me? Or that the American remake was so wretched?
-
My WIFI is misbehavin this evening.
-
Page five? Really?
-
Has anyone seen LUCKY? It looks interesting.
-
Not sure if I will be posting much tonight.
-
My iPad won't connect at all.
-
I may have worn it out posting last night.
-
I may have worn it out. The title of my next novel.
-
In honor of today's dance theme, I called my Steve Mnuchin parody a "White House dance"

My father was rather strict about my watching TV during the day and I wasn't permitted to do it very often. I expected to be in trouble the day he came home and found me watching THE RED SHOES. Instead we was very pleased. It was the beginning of my love of old movies and a choice for daytime viewing that was acceptable.
-
Well, it's a post on a light posting day, anyway! :)

I was thinking the wretched part. I suppose it is also not surprising that the original is a favorite of yours 😊
-
I'm so glad BK was okay today.
-
I may have worn it out posting last night.
I hope with a bit of a rest, and charge, it will return.

Good night, all.
-
Listening to the entire Bachianas. I'd bought a set that had all the Villa-Lobos Bachianas and Choros so I nuked the Enrique Batiz set of Bachianas, but this other set presents everything out of order and in weird variations, so I just nuked THAT and re-uploaded the Batiz - here the Bachianas are all in the proper versions and the correct order. Much better.

Ditto!
-
Well, the show is over, the set has been struck and we all have gone our separate ways.
-
I'm now at McMcMenamins The Spar in downtown Olympia, waiting to get service. They have out the "Seat Yourself" sign, so I sat myself, and so far none of the waitstaff have noticed. How rude! >:(

Service! Finally! ;D
