Well, you've read the notes, the notes were notes rather than no notes, and now it is time for you to post until the no notes cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MASSCULT!
-
First post after BK!
-
I loved the songs!
-
Fred, very funny number.
-
4th post after BK.
-
The songs were most entertaining! Nice videos.
-
DR FJL that was a very apt piece of work..... Sometimes what you write reminds me a bit of what they used to do on the old television show THAT WAS THE WEEK THAT WAS that had some clever parodies on current topics....yours are usually funnier.....
-
I've been fed and am home!
-
I've been home for a while.
-
DR TCB, I have eaten at at couple of McMcMenamins but not The Spar. I figure the seating is similar. I could be wrong.
-
I don't know why I bother with good nights when the odds are I won't sleep.
-
First on the East coast!
-
Wonderful notes today!
And again, re the notes, so glad they're back and on time. You don't know what you miss from your routine until it's not there, or something like that.
-

Thank you so much, Jrand!
-
Fred, very funny number.
Many thanks, TCB!
-
Good morning to all
-
Very enjoyable songs
-
I think the guy who handed Haley the trumpet in the first clip has a great future ahead of him in show biz. Next up handing Miss Mazeppa her trumpet in Gypsy in the next revival.
-
BK
Maybe you want to consider as perk in the Indiegogo campaign a commission song by you. It can be a higher perk and limited to a few people or perhaps Richard M. Sherman can do a commission song perk (too)
-
Good morning, all.

Excellent idea, DR Michael.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Last night I slept poorly. I was troubled - or harassed - by my 12th Night overture. I had a long, rather frustrating dream about revising it, rewriting the violins at one spot, and I was quite happy to get out of bed.
-
I have no plans today, so I will continue the housecleaning. I have another ladder and book day coming up, but I'm not sure that's on today's agenda.
-
I've been re-reading Sir Peter Hall's Diaries with much more appreciation than I had when I first read them. Some things still irritate me, like his unkind remarks about the scores for A Little Night Music and Sweeney Todd while he chooses to direct Via Galactica, but I find the politics of dealing with friends/rivals, critics, actors, playwrights, etc. really interesting and continue to wonder at his stamina. I've just ordered his autobiography.

Sunday morning greetings! 3/4 of our household is at church and I'm home enjoying the solitude.
-
Good morning, all.

In my humble (etc.), comparing something favorably to TW3 (remember "TW3"?) is a high compliment indeed.

I have a possible new 21st century pet peeve:
when a theater turns down your play for a festival, and then proceeds to put your email address on the mailing list trying to sell you a ticket to come to the festival, emails which tell you all about the fabulous plays they DID choose over your own! :)

Oh my, all of that sounds interesting.
His wife soprano/mezzo-soprano Maria Ewing was a schoolmate, so I got to accompany her in various and sundry little things including a few voice lessons with Eleanor Steber.
-
I have a private recording or two of her singing with Levine and the student orchestra. Lulu Suite for one, maybe something else.
-
I have considered this story from several angles and I fail to understand the logistcs:

-
It doesn't say how they got it out!!!
Edit: Or am I a less careful reader than I used to be?
-
Oh well, ladies and germs, it's just about time for me to make a run to Costco (what? -- do I think I'm BK all of a sudden?) and then get ready for the all-afternoon & evening rehearsal.
-
Good morning.

Or like when you enter a photo in the state fair and get rejected in the first round and they keep sending you emails.

Yes, that's the feeling!!!

Skip is doing his first show ever at the elegant Feinsteins/54 Below at the far-away date of Monday, Feb. 12, the 9:30 pm show. With a lot of special guests that he's not supposed to talk about on public forums until closer to the date. I'll drop some of the names as soon as I'm allowed to do so. Julie Miller is producing the show.
(The last cabaret appearance he made was 25 years ago!)
Here's the link to the page about his show and some quotes.

The story I mentioned to Bruce yesterday, the one where his comment had Keith & I laughing.

That would be about the same, so rude.

DR FJL, thank you for the link to Skips show. I expect it will be a very enjoyable evening for those who can attend.
-
Sounds FANTASTIC, FJL! Serious congrats to Skip!
-
Thanks, Chas and Jane - I'll pass that along to Skip!
-
Congrats to SKIP!!!
Uh.....I didn't click on that link.....about....the man.... :o
-
DR CHAS SMITH I remember TW3 well.....I don't think it lasted even 13 weeks around these here parts....but I think it's the first time I saw David Frost....and the girl singer was very good...Nancy Ames....
-
Skip's show sounds great. Congratulations to him.
-
I picked a cucumber today that was 12.5 inches long. Naturally the size jokes have started.
-
Jrand - Thanks for the congrats to Skip

Just because there are people on Facebook (see Jane's comment about my comment) who think this is real - it's not. It's a "satire" website - not funny, mind you, but "satire" nonetheless.

This is actually getting funny, in the way that the "Book of Job" was funny, :) They just sent yet a third email inviting me to buy tickets to the festival I was not accepted for!!!
Newer update: Now I got the fourth email. :)

That's wonderful, FJL.

Thanks, Laura.

Elmore, that cute kitten I posted the other day -- she must have been adopted. Her photo is gone.

-
And now, I must be off. My sister needs to help her do some stuff. For her birthday, I bought her a new picnic table and need to put that together, but I guess it's been raining, so I might not be able to get to that.
So, have a good rest of the day, all!
-
That's wonderful, George! Skip says thanks!
-
DR Laura, my friend Sean, who left New York for San Francisco over 20 years ago, just adopted two kittens. They're adorasble.

She was his fourth wife; Leslie Caron was his second. In the diaries, he's just directed her in Cosi Fan Tutte at Glyndebourne, and appears infatuated. His Glyndebourne production for her of Carmen is really wonderful.
-
Did he direct LORD OF THE FLIES the first movie?
-
Never mind - that was Peter Brook!
-
Awww.

Your response to those who believed it made it funny ;D

Elmore, that cute kitten I posted the other day -- she must have been adopted. Her photo is gone.
Good news.
I noticed the cost to adopt was $125. Is that typical or does the price vary with each pet? DR elmore feel free to also answer my question regarding adoption fees.
-
DR George, your "Age" THREE SKIP KENNON DANCE is great.

Hello,my name isVixmom and I have been errant and truant
-
When Irma decided to make driving to Florida foolhardy we were able to switch our week in Florida for one in the Poconos
-
That's a mountainous region of Pennsylvania for those of you not privy to what was once biled as the honeymoon capital of the world
-
Not so much anymore
-
But I digress
-
The wifi was available for the bargain price of $10 per day per device we opted out
-
Occasionally we dined somewhere where wifi was free so I jumped on FB to check on the status of various Florida freinds and family
-
Vixters abode and my aunt and uncles was untouched fortunately
-
I still have to unpack and eat something so laters
-
I have not caught up but I am happy about Skips revue. I plan to be there
-
Vibes fir all and I'll catch up ASAP
-
Did he direct LORD OF THE FLIES the first movie?
That was Peter Brook, who also directed Marat/Sade.
-
That's a mountainous region of Pennsylvania for those of you not privy to what was once biled as the honeymoon capital of the world
We once stayed in one of those hokey honeymoon type places. It was different ;D
-
I was lacking a Wacky Noodles ingredient, so instead I made pasta with red sauce - about four ounces, I think.
-
We did enjoy the little swimming pool in our room.
-
Had to write letters of recommendation for Sami and college. COLLEGE! Jeez.
-
Listning to music and doing a few other things.
-
Page three? Really?
-
This place designed for romance had a social director and we had to request one of the few private tables for our last night.
-
Vixters abode and my aunt and uncles was untouched fortunately
Nice to hear.
-
We have rafted in the Poconos.
-
Many times we skied with the children in the Poconos.
-
Good evening!
-
We're not having an Emmy party tonight?
-
Whoever is announcing on the Emmy Awards is absolutely terrible.
-
LOL I had no idea they were tonight.
-
I don't know why I'm watching. I don't know anything about most of the nominated shows.
-
EMMY awards? Who knew. I shan't be watching but let's have the reports, dear readers, let's have the damn reports.
-
Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin and Dolly Parton!
-
Sean Spicer (the real person) made a guest appearance.
I wonder if he and Melissa McCarthy will actually meet at some point.
-
Elmore, that cute kitten I posted the other day -- she must have been adopted. Her photo is gone.
Good news.
I noticed the cost to adopt was $125. Is that typical or does the price vary with each pet? DR elmore feel free to also answer my question regarding adoption fees.

-
Had to write letters of recommendation for Sami and college. COLLEGE! Jeez.

And now, I must be off. My sister needs to help her do some stuff. For her birthday, I bought her a new picnic table and need to put that together, but I guess it's been raining, so I might not be able to get to that.
So, have a good rest of the day, all!
I'm home. I didn't put together the picnic table. It was raining, but she feels that it's too late in the year to set it up, so she'll save it in the boxes for next year.
-
I did install a chandelier in her front room, so that got done. We also moved things around in her garage, then I went to Subway for dinner. I only ate half of it and will finish it later tonight. :)
-
Now, I'm home watching the Emmy Awards. I'm also recording them, so I'm just watching the live broadcast from where it was when I turned on the TV.
-
Since it'll be rebroadcast right after it finishes, I'll just continue watching until I get to the point where I started.
-
Hello,my name isVixmom and I have been errant and truant
Hello, Vixmom. :)
-
Vixters abode and my aunt and uncles was untouched fortunately
Great news!
-
VIXMOM the Queen of Poconos!
-
I also recorded tonight's episode of "The Orville." I'll watch that later.
-
The Emmys are starting again. :)

-
Supporting actress in a comedy series is Kate McKinnon for SNL.
-

What did you think of my Indiegogo suggestion?
-
Lead actor in a limited series or movie: Riz Ahmed for "The Night Of"
Are the Emmys on tape delay or live?
Both...they broadcast them live at 5:00 p.m., and rebroadcast them as soon as it ended, around 8:10, so now they're broadcasting the repeat.

It's raining here in Tumwater.
-
Good evening!
-
Sorry to have been absent this evening.
-
Earlier today, I dropped and broke a vase in the kitchen.
-
While trying to clean it up (before Nicky stepped on the glass), I took a fall.
-
That caused all the glass pieces to shatter into millions of little pieces.
-
While trying to clean all of that up, I managed to get blood all over the kitchen.
-
But I think I managed to (eventually) get all of the glass off the floor.
-
Fortunately, I think the vase was the only thing I broke.
-
Oh, my goodness, Tom!!
-
I hope you're okay...or at least feeling better!
-
Once a klutz, always a klutz.
-
I hope you're okay...or at least feeling better!
Oh, I'll be fine.
-
One more post.
