Well, you've read the notes, the notes were mostly relaxing, and now it is time for you to post until the mostly relaxed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AMANUENSIS!
-
First post after BK!
-
Good night.
-
First post after TCB!
-
Well, crap. I set my DVR to record last night's episode of "The Orville," and it recorded as programmed, but it didn't record "The Orville" because it wasn't broadcast! The football game that was on went longer and "The Orville" started about 40 minutes into the hour. :P
-
Fortunately, it's available on On Demand, which is how I'm watching it now.
-
So now, I'll say good night and have a great day, all!
-
DR TCB my heart skipped a beat when I read about your fall. I am relieved only the vase was broken. I hope your not too sore or bruised tomorrow. I also hope you got all of the glass and Nicky is safe.
-
I shall watch THE ORVILLE OnDEMAND sometime today.
-
VIBES for DR TCB....I agree with DR JANE. That was a scary story!
-
TOD:
I have decidedly mixed feelings about "whistle-blowing" particularly when it comes to classified documents, but it is a complicated issue....
-
I have blood work this morning....then my sister and I are going to GoodWill and Dollar Tree..... $$$$$$$
-
Good morning to all.
-
So did Sean Spicer and Melissa McCarthy actually meet last night?
I wonder if they'll do SNL together one day.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Vibes for TCB and Monday vibes for all.
-

I tend to agree.
If something illegal is being done, the proper authorities should be informed...not necessarily the press.
-
Interesting, even a little surprising, perspective from last April by Melissa McCarthy on Sean Spicer making jokes about SNL.
I wonder if she still feels the same way now.
http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/tv/la-et-st-saturday-night-live-on-the-west-coast-20170415-story.html
This is the quote:
"Her performances have made such a far-reaching impression that Spicer even referenced one of her sketch’s gags about a mobile podium during a news conference in March.
“That’s the part I didn’t like,” McCarthy told The Times in a recent interview. “I was like ‘No! It’s not us’ [gesturing to two people] making that joke, it’s we’re making that joke.
“I had a moment of fear about that when he was like, ‘Don’t make me move the podium.’ I thought, No, that’s not your joke to make,” she explained."
-
Good morning, all!
-
Welcome back, DR vixmom!
-
DR TCB, how are you feeling today? I am so sorry to read about your fall.
-
Today would have been the 64th birthday of the late John McGlinn. Take a moment, if you can today, and listen to one of his recordings.
-
What's with Facebook? I am getting a lot of Happy Birthday wishes, but it is not my birthday.
-
I hope the SNL Emmy wins have put the Orange Baboon's panties in a bunch. Have the Tweets begun?
-
Watched the Emmys last night.
I don't believe that I saw one show that won. There's just too many choices out there these days. Too many networks. Too few hours in the day.
-
What's with Facebook? I am getting a lot of Happy Birthday wishes, but it is not my birthday.
Just enjoy them. And a very merry unbirthday to you!

Not many I'd want to watch. The Crown maybe.

All it takes is for one person to wish you an early birthday and suddenly half your friends think it is today ;D
-
Good morning, all.
-
And welcome back to our DR vixmom.
Honestly, with all that's been going on, it seems like three weeks since the hurricane and vixmom's departure.
-
Very happy not-your-birthday wishes to DR Elmore.
-
Today would have been the 64th birthday of the late John McGlinn. Take a moment, if you can today, and listen to one of his recordings.
I've been on a nice Lerner and Loewe kick lately, which hasn't yet included BRIGADOON, so that shall be the one.
I think his recording is exceptionally lovely.
-
Larry -
Maybe it's because you mentioned john McGlinn's birthday and someone got confused, leading to more birthday wishes.
-
Or did someone overseas mention your birthday early, possibly?
-
Or did someone overseas mention your birthday early, possibly?
Nope. Most of my friends outside the USA live in Europe. It will not be midnight in London until it's 6:00PM tonight. I have no idea where friends in Australia or New Zealand are in time zones!

Monday morning greetings! I've been to Kroger to speak to a pharmacist about the refilled prescription I picked up at the drive-up window last Thursday (broken toe, you know...). Yesterday I took the last of my beta blocker (little blue pills) and this morning opened the refill to find slightly larger yellow pills. Having absolutely no confidence that they were the right thing, I skipped that dose until the pharmacist confirmed that they'd changed manufacturers and, yes, it is the same thing. I've put Richard and Rob on alert, just in case I have an adverse reaction.
-
Is there any info on the net that the different-looking pills have the same function?
-
DR Ginny when our prescriptions look different the pharmacy mentions it when we pick them up. There are also medication identifiers you can find online that will show you what the pills look like.
I don't always remember to double check my pills before I take them away, usually that is when I drive up to the window as you did. I do check them before I put them away. I suspect you will do so from now on-lol I am glad they were the correct prescription.
I also checked all scripts for my pets as they can be wrong, and have been, just as easily.
-

There are lots of sites such as this that identify pills.
http://www.webmd.com/pill-identification/default.htm
-
DR Ginny when our prescriptions look different the pharmacy mentions it when we pick them up....
Yeah, DR Jane, I thought they could have done that, too...
-
Should have, not simply could ;)
-
I just told the Rx story to Paramedic Rob and he said some pharmacies provide an alert by way of a sticker when the appearance of a med changes. He said the medical staff at the jail deals with this issue frequently.
-
Did you have a sticker on yours? I have also seen that, along with my verbal warning. It never hurts to double check on line.
-
DR Ginny, to get a feel for out it works, did you try the online site to see if the pill matched correctly?
-
I have also used similar sites after finding pills on the floor of hotel rooms. It is scary when your pets are with you and what if they had found a pill and eaten it.
-
Good morning.
-
Did you have a sticker on yours? I have also seen that, along with my verbal warning. It never hurts to double check on line.
If there had been a sticker, I wouldn't have had to go talk to the pharmacist this morning.
-
I want someone to come do my work for me.
-
I think I have greater chances of winning the lottery.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
DR Ginny, to get a feel for out it works, did you try the online site to see if the pill matched correctly?
At first, I thought it didn't work very well. Then I discovered I had misspelled the name of the drug.
There's a LOT of advertising on that site...

True, but you might not have noticed it. Some of my meds have a few warning stickers so I don't pay much attention to them any more ;D

It was just the first sample I found. Googling the code number, and the name if needed or have, should take you directly to a photo of the pill.

So true! DR Laura's was the best.
-
I've been to the bank in an emergency deposit. Most of my day has been tied up in housecleaning. I've packed 3 cartons for Miami U library today. There's still too much crap to find room for and at the moment I really really really miss Toyland!
-
OMG DR TCB I am glad that you are okay!
-
Waiting on Val. I want to see if he can help me with a few things in the apartment and, if so, when he has the time.
-
PAGE THREE DANCE!!

Yes! That's very funny!

Val was here to show me his gift from my neighbors, a cap from this restaurant:
http://www.foodspotting.com/places/729629-biscuits-and-porn-nags-head
He's coming by tomorrow to help me hang three photos.
-
Hanging photos always improves my disposition. I just put out a framed photo of Precious and me.....since it's been about six weeks, I decided it was time.....

I've spent the last few hours in the basement sorting through Mom's holiday decorations, mostly Christmas with some Easter and Halloween/fall thrown in. Some got pitched, some I'll keep, and most of it is going to AAUW's holiday bazaar.
-
You are lucky you could take it home to sort through at your convenience. I suppose with the holidays coming up motivated you to get it done.
-

These things have been stored in our basement since we gave up the storage unit when Mom moved to assisted living and we'd take her what she needed for each season. I knew she was declining when we picked up the Easter stuff and she said not to bring any more :(

Had a pastrami sandwich and a side Caesar salad for my meal o' the day.
-
Picked up no mail or packages.

Trying to figure out the rest of the Kritzerland show.

Good evening!

Are there any good female solos in Rocky Horror Show?
"Science Fiction/Double Feature" and "Touch-a-touch-a-touch-a-touch Me"
-
A lull. ::)
-
;)
-
And now, I must be off. My friend Margo and I are going to Applebee's (http://www.applebees.com/) for dinner because they're having a sale on their burgers! Today is National Cheeseburger Day and all their burgers are only $6.99 each! :D
Be back later!
-
I love Science Fiction/Double Feature.....
-
DR GINNY you doing a great job moving forward! I am sending the best vibes to YOU!
-
I've just returned from an early birthday celebration with friends and I'm about ready for bed.
-
My nephew Matt got married last weekend. Here's my beloved sister-in-law Jo, mother of the groom. I hope the new job is going well.
-
DR GINNY you doing a great job moving forward! I am sending the best vibes to YOU!
Thanks, DR JRand. AAUW provided me some motivation when they set the dates for this year's bazaar, November 10 & 11, and Rose wants stuff NOW. I'll be able to deliver a load as early as tomorrow.

Once again, George, great minds -- and ours!

Who sings Eddie's Teddy?
-
Hello, everyone.
-
I don't care for the movie Shock Treatment (from the Rocky Horror folks), but I like the song Bitchin' in the Kitchen.
-
Welcome to page four!
-
TCB, I'm so sorry to hear about your fall. I imagine you're feeling a bit sore today. I hope that's all it is and you're feeling chipper pronto!
-
Watching the rest of the Renoir silent, Whirlpool of Fate. I'm not into it, but he has some wonderful visuals and even some good special effects for the time period.
-
Page four? Really?

I would be quite concerned, as you were. They really should have included something to tell you that, rather than make you contact them. And you're right about a possible reaction, too. Even when the active ingredients are the same, a different filler can cause a problem. I'm glad you took a cautious approach.
-
I'm also not wholly into Zola's The Fortune of the Rougons. I joined a Facebook Zola group that's reading it and I enjoyed the first 150 pages, but then I lost total interest. The next 40 pages have been a slog of the most sentimental goo that I can remember reading.

Facebook has now made it so hard to do an event it's just plain stupid. It was never easy to do the invite part, but now half my friends that I always invite and who used to always be at the top of the suggested friends list don't show up at all. I literally have to type their names in manually and in order to do that I actually have to figure out who they are. Just terrible. Took almost two hours.
-
Work is still running at breakneck speed and I don't know if I can finish all of my projects before going on vacation next week.
-
But my work is nothing compared with service reps, who have been dealing with all of the insurance claims from Harvey and Irma.
So someone with a desk next to mine (she's not on my team, but we've done some work together) decided that it would be fun for all of us to make desserts to take to some of the reps as a thank-you for their service.
-
I have also used similar sites after finding pills on the floor of hotel rooms. It is scary when your pets are with you and what if they had found a pill and eaten it.
I recently read about Jude Law's two-year-old son eating something he found on a hotel floor and having to be rushed to the ER. Apparently, there were party-goers in the room the day before and the substance eaten was Ecstasy. The boy was OK after having his stomach pumped, but it's really frightening. Another reason for thorough cleaning.
(I don't know when this occurred. It was in reference to something else.)
-
So, tonight I made a variation of Rice Krispie Treats with Golden Grahams. They look wonderful.

Yeah. I found that out with my website. The people who followed us religiously would never see the posts of new articles.

I get envious when I read about you doing all this housecleaning. Some may find that strange, I know. A couple months ago, when the building manager said we were going to have regular inspections, I busted my butt to toss and clean. Yes, things got done, and I'm glad of that, but there's still more to do. I need another Pablo! I also need to take the time to go through old files and get rid of what I don't need. It's time-consuming and gets tedious. I'll just have to tackle it a little at a time. When living in small quarters there's just no room for excess.
Oh, and the inspections? Haven't heard another word. I rather think they've abandoned the idea.
-
YOUR MIND AND OURS - that's the name of my new Lucille Ball - Henry Fonda sci-fi musical

You're making progress. It's good you have someplace to donate it.
-
Feel-better vibes to TCB!
-
Elmore, I chose McGlinn's recording of Sitting Pretty. I haven't heard this in a while, and the score is just sublime.
-
Hurricane Maria has reached a category 5 level and is ripping apart parts of the Caribbean on its way to Puerto Rico. Scary stuff.
-
It's now officially Larry's birthday on the East coast! More on that tomorrow!
-
I didn't watch the Emmys and only learned this morning about the Sean Spicer bit with the podium. I found that quite clever and funny, but I didn't actually see it. Who here saw it? Was it funny?
-

Yes. The Caribbean has had quite enough!
-
I read that Richard Branson was in his Caribbean home when Irma passed through. He was in his wine cellar. The rest of the house was destroyed. Apparently, he's heading up much of the rescue and recovery efforts. I'm glad to see that, as he thinks outside the box (no relation to BK's Outside the Box) and is in a position to really get things done. God knows they need help.
-
Early birthday wishes to DR Elmore!
-
Vibes to all.
Good night.
-
Good night, Jeanne.
-
I need to head to bed, too.
-
But can we make it to five?
-
With a little push.
-
Five!
-
Page five? Really?
-
Good night, all.
-
Page five? Really?

Made some pasta with red sauce for my snack - it didn't look like there was that much left in the box, but it was more than I needed but I ate it anyway - can't do that anymore after a lunch meal.

My nephew Matt got married last weekend. Here's my beloved sister-in-law Jo, mother of the groom. I hope the new job is going well.
Nice, and congratulations to Matt.

DR Jeanne vibes they truly have abandoned the inspections.

HAPPY EARLY BIRTHDAY DR ELMORE 🎂⚘🍾🐈🍰🍾
-
I have literally not stopped doing stuff from seven until now and I'm still not done.
-

Well, dinner at Applebee's was quite delish! We both had the NEW Whisky Bacon Burger (http://www.applebees.com/menu/burgers/new-whisky-bacon-burger). :D
-
Good evening!
-
I really enjoyed it, but I CERTAINLY won't be having it again anytime soon! This one burger is 1240 calories! :o
-
Listening to Benjamin Britten and I think I might be done with all the work.
-
It certainly didn't look like it had 1240 calories. :-\
-
Finally! My WIFI has been down.
-
I am sorry I have been unable to post.
-
Everything seems fine now.
-
I am sorry I have been unable to post.
But you're here now. That's all that matters. ;D

I think I go all of the glass. I swept it three times and I even vacuumed the floor.

I thought that it was funny, but a couple of people at work had read that there was some negative press. I haven't read anything negative about it.
-
VIBES for DR TCB....I agree with DR JANE. That was a scary story!
Thanks, Jack. And vibes right back at you.
-
Vibes for TCB and Monday vibes for all.
Thanks, John.
-
DR TCB, how are you feeling today? I am so sorry to read about your fall.
I am pretty sore, but I will be fine. Thank you.
-
OMG DR TCB I am glad that you are okay!
Thank you so much, Jennifer.

TCB: I'm glad you're okay!
Thanks, Kevin.

Now I want a burger from Applebee's.

Just don't make a habit out of it or anything!
