Well, you've read the notes, the notes were twice rehearsed, and now it is time for you to post until the twice rehearsed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PROEM!
-
First post after BK!
-
T.O.D.
First of all, when it comes to lyrics, I don't think there is any equal to Stephen Sondheim. However, there are others that I love, but I will need to sleep on that.
-
Second poster after BK!
-
Well, I got a load of laundry done last night, so that's good.
-
Certainly, Alan Jay Lerner, Sammy Cahn, and Oscar Hammerstein are right up there at the top.
-
T.O.D.

Tom, I agree with your opinion of Sondheim as a lyricist.

Well, I think Nicky and I need to hit the hay. Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.

Topic of the Day addendum: I also like (in no particular order) Lynn Ahrens, Fred Ebb, Tom Jones, Richard Maltby Jr., David Zipple, William Finn, Betty Comden and Adolph Green, Richard M. and Robert B. Sherman, John Bucchino, Jerry Herman, Stephen Schwartz, Rupert Holmes, Alan Jay Lerner, Frank Loesser, Johnny Mercer, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Jerry Bock.
And honorable mentions go to Theodor Seuss Geisel, and our very own Fred Landau and BK!
;)
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a Happy Halloween, all!
-
Good Morning To All
-
TOD
For me it's the 1920s to the 1950s. Sondheim better work falls out of this parameter.
Alan Jay Lerner
Sammy Cahn
Oscar Hammerstein
Lorenz Hart
Cole Porter
Johnny Mercer
Irving Berlin
E.Y. "Yip" Harburg
Dorothy Fields
Paul Francis Webster
Ned Washington
Johnny Burke
Mack Gordon
Betty Comden & Adolph Green

My washer and dryer did not eat me but our wifi went away.
-
It is however back and here am I
-
I don't like waking up in the dark but I shall like even less the late afternoon darkness once the clocks are turned back this weekend
-
If they insist on doing it, st least they've changed it so it happens after Halloween
-
A happy Halloween to all and one
-
Good morning, all!
-
This is my X-ray, MRI day, Ugh.
-
When I got home last night, Annabelle pulled her I'm-gonna-bitch-and-hold-me-and-tell-me-you-won't-leave-me act for about an hour. Then she went to her new favorite place, my bag for taking paper to be recycled to the basement, and spent the rest of the night there. Sometime after midnight, she climbed into bed with me.
-
Good morning, all.
-
A happy and ghoulish Halloween to the lot o' ye!
-
The orchestra reading went very well. The score is so lush, and the under-appreciated Ted Royal's orchestrations are really fine.
-
DR ChasSmith, what is your tree status today?
-
Last night I began a ghost story, The Secret of Crickley Hall, then switched DVDs to Britten's opera Albert Herring. It was more to my mood.
-
The orchestra reading went very well. The score is so lush, and the under-appreciated Ted Royal's orchestrations are really fine.
That must have sounded incredible.
-
DR ChasSmith, what is your tree status today?
I need to get a picture uploaded. The tree will happily sit lie there until the inspector has come out, since it's not doing any harm where it is. Once he's seen it, we can start cutting it up or wait and let them remove it. Thankfully, we're in for a few days of no deluges, so the house is okay too. The gutters will have to be repaired soon, though.
-
I believe the worst that could happen is that we put a tarp over that skylight just to insure no water if it does rain.
-
Halloween Day 2017, for this kid, shall consist of practicing the songs in this holiday revue (we're into rehearsals next week) and
(get ready for it)
LEAF BLOWING.
-
And doing some laundry.
-
(Leaf blowing being the number one pastime in Connecticut, in case anyone didn't know.)
-
T.O.D.
Paul Francis Webster
He was my publicity client for years.
-
George - LOL and thanks!!!!
-
I must prepare to leave for this Big Event.
-
Well, I think Nicky and I need to hit the hay. Good night, George.
I am glad you both survived the day and that Nicky is doing better.
-
I don't like waking up in the dark but I shall like even less the late afternoon darkness once the clocks are turned back this weekend
Same here.
-
If they insist on doing it, st least they've changed it so it happens after Halloween
Yes.
-
This is my X-ray, MRI day, Ugh.
I hope it goes well.

Photographic Evidence
Rear of house, the tree, and why cleanup will be easy. It's just a wooded hillside with a little bit of everything, including old stumps.
You can see the detached gutter downspout.

Some damage to gutters, shingles (not the kind you take a vaccine for), maybe the eaves, maybe the skylights.

Th-th-that's all, folks.
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! I've been up since 7 or so, puttering and trying out some "cross-crafting," combining counted cross-stitch and papercrafting. It's pretty addictive.
-
This is my X-ray, MRI day, Ugh.
Hope it all goes smoothly!
-
DR ChasSmith, thanks for the photos. Your deck looks like someplace I'd like to sit and read a book...
-
I'm up, I'm up - actually over eight hours of sleep.
-
I wasn't so much speaking of modern musical theater lyricists as lyricists from the Great American Songbook - standards - obviously there are crossovers to film and theater.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
Repair vibes for ChasSmith.
-
TOD:
My favorites of favorites include:
Cole Porter
Carolyn Leigh
Jimmy Webb
Sondheim
Harburg
Howard Dietz
The Sherman Brothers
-
Well, it was a long time at Lenox Hill Radiology but it all went smoothly and the staff was wonderful. I ran into Val as I was leaving the building and he drove me down to 57th Street. It was really kind of him.
-
And I am glad to be home.
-
My final chemo is done....wearing the pump that will be removed on Thursday.....then back on November 27 for blood work and November 28 to see what scans will be given me.
The pain in my fingers is stronger....it hurts my finger tips when I type....but my doctor assured me that that will diminish. My liver enzymes were elevated so they changed the special sauce in my pump....doctor also says that that will right itself as the weeks go by.
And now you know everything I know....except that each of these infusion sessions costs $29,000+.
-
Thanks for the photos DR CHAS SMITH...
DR VIXMOM for awhile in the 1970's we had a machine that was a washer and dryer in one....which took a LOT of extra time because you couldn't do another load until BOTH functions were done. I am sure it was possessed....it would rock and talk at some times...other times is was mouse quiet...and one time it walked from the laundry room into the kitchen....or as far as the electric cord reached....
-
DR VIXMOM sorry to hear about Trixie.....the funeral for your friend sounds like it was a very nice sendoff....we should all be so lucky as to be remembered like that....
-
Loved the notes.....the new Kritzerland Show sounds right up my Shubert Alley!
TOD:
(so many)
The Stephens: Sondheim and Foster
Styne
Hammerstein II
The Shermans
Lerner
Hart
Tim Rice
so many others already named including our own MR BK and DR FJL....both of whom sometimes masquerade and being merely clever, but who also write some very touching and telling lyrics....ON THE MONEY words, as they say....
-
Too much me on this page.
-

Joshie just called and he may have some Encores! wrk for me, Thank you, Jesus!
-
BK, did you see the review for The Crucible?
-
Annabelle and I had a bracing game of fishie on a pole and now she's trying to cram herself into my recyclable paper bag. She does put a smile on my face.

Page 3 Dance!
-
Jrand, thank you so much for your kind words!
-
Of course DR FJL!!!

Here's a photo of my baby sister Molly and me on our way this morning the chemo...I took some flowers for the office.

Yikes, do you have supplemental for over any lifetime cap? (I know my health insurance has a lifetime cap, and I was advised to get a supplemental plan.)

MAJOR RECOVERING VIBES FOR DR JRAND!
-
DR Jrand, MEGA VIBES YOU NEVER HAVE TO GO THROUGH THIS AGAIN!
-
Joshie just called and he may have some Encores! wrk for me, Thank you, Jesus!
FINGERS CROSSED!
-
John Griffin, the helper told me your Indiegogo is through - does that sound right? We did the extension a year ago at this time and there've certainly been ten releases since then?
-
Went to go to the Shermans - turned left on Coldwater to find the traffic backed up all the way to where I'd just turned. I called and said no way and turned right around. This city sucks sometimes and this is one of those times. Whatever they're doing on Coldwater they should be prevented from doing "work ahead" - go work somewhere where you're not killing everyone's day.
-
Where was The Crucible reviewed?
-
So, I'll leave in fifteen minutes for the production meeting.
-
Then I can eat something.
-
TOO MUCH ME!!!!
No such thing, sir.
-
John Griffin, the helper told me your Indiegogo is through - does that sound right? We did the extension a year ago at this time and there've certainly been ten releases since then?
Then I shall order the Crucible later. Thank you. I just didn’t know where we were with the campaign.
-
Four!

Where was The Crucible reviewed?
That would be DR Elmore's thoughtful and beautifully detailed review on Amazon.

Be sure to click on the READ MORE to get the whole thing!

Thank you DR JANE.....LOL DR JOHN G.

And I forgot to mention how wonderful the bluesy duet for Tituba and Sarah Good that opens Act Four is!

Good afternoon.

So glad to hear the chemo is done, JRand.

ChasSmith, do you have a fireplace or a wood-burning stove? It could (easily?) be cut up and burned (after an appropriate amount of drying time), if you're able to keep it...and if there's enough wood to make it worth all the effort to cut it.
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
George - LOL and thanks!!!!
My pleasure, Fred! ;D

Glad to hear you're having fun with Annabelle, DR elmore!

Thinking of taking a quick trip to LA in early December. I wonder if there are any shows I can see?

-
Well, it's time for me to leave work and go to my sister's place and hide out. ;) No one has come to her house(s) in quite a few years, so we'll just hang out for the evening.
Be back later.
But before I go...
-
Elmore have you spoken to Ben this afternoon? Praying he and Anthony were not caught up in the terrible incident in Lower Mangattan
I have not, but Ben would have been at work and I believe Anthony is in Long Island.

I suppose it isn't a place I would imagine they would be since I read bike bath. It would be nice to know for sure.
-
I am glad to see DR elmore agrees.
-
Nice Halloween dance DR George.
-
Caught up on the Durrells tonight. I wish I had the energy for something else tonight, but I think I'm just going to soak.
-
And maybe listen to something fun.
-
Good evening.
-
We probably had about 40 kids this evening. Not as many as we used to get.
-
I didn't have a single kid. Of course, it's raining heavily tonight and I didn't get home until 8, but I saw kids out on other streets.
-
I did buy some Reese's Cups. I guess I'll have to dispose of them somehow.
-
What a dilemma.
-
Good night, all.
-
I buy Reese's cups because I don't like them.
-
We bought a lot a nut-free candy. The folks bring their kids to trick or treat where my daughter works, and one of her co-workers has an allergic child. I sent along a plastic dinosaur for him, which went over really well.
-
I buy Reese's cups because I don't like them.
Smart. The last years we actually had trick or treaters I purchased candy I would never eat.
-
The dinosaur was a great idea, very thoughtful.
-
Back from rehearsal - frustrating in terms of how much everyone had forgotten, but we assembled through act two scene two, so after Kay takes her hour tomorrow we should be able to finish, but instead of just having a nice run on Thursday we have a designer run, which is really irritating. Then on Friday we'll have a run, and then do detail work - I have to now attend to the acting from the students.

Ohhhhh, detail work! I kept reading that as dental work.

Happy Halloween!

0 children came to the door this evening.
-
The closest I came was two young Mormons who came to the door this afternoon.
-
Tomorrow is the old actors lunch.
-
We are doing Eye-talian this week.
-
Today I watched several episodes of a series called CONSPIRACIES.
-
I learned that the mob killed Pope John Paul I. At least, I think that is what they said. I fell asleep during part of this episode.
-
Actually, I fell asleep during several of the episodes.
-
But I do know that the moon landing was filmed at Area 51.

One more post.

These are funny but to watch more than a few minutes I would be happy to fall asleep.

I couldn't figure out why I was so crippled up this evening. I forgot to take my eleven o'clock pills.
