Well, you've read the notes, the notes were sweet and written in November, and now it is time for you to post until the sweet November cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: APODICTIC!
-
First post after BK!
-
T.O.D.
Did the second pressing of the FOLLIES remix sell as well as you hoped? Do you still continue to have people buying it?
-
Well, I guess George is still hiding out at his sister's house. I guess I might as well go to bed.
-
Good night.
-
DR TCB, we're those your 11:00pm pills or AM?
-
Yes, Follies continues to sell all the time. Not sure how many we have left.
-
Well, I guess George is still hiding out at his sister's house. I guess I might as well go to bed.
I came home at about 9:30 or so, but had to do some stuff on my old computer which can no longer access the Interwebs. When I came upstairs to work on my new computer, I had to pay my property taxes (literally filed at 11:59 pm!), and renew Theater Artists Olympia's nonprofitness. That was filed at about 12:40 am (it was also due on October 31), but fortunately there's no penalty for filing late. :)
-
Otherwise, I spent the evening at my sister's house with our parents and their friend Mona. We played Phase 10 (I lost...again) and had pizza for dinner. I took home the leftovers that had meat (one pizza had only pepperoni and the other was a combo with at least sausage). My sister and niece kept the veggie pizza leftovers. We're both happy with those decisions.
;)
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!

Wow, you really did put that off until the last minute.

Good morning to all

I am pleased to announce that the audio edition of my play, GABLE, is now available for download at audible.com., Amazon and iTunes. George Utley delivers a magnificent performance as Clark Gable in this production of my original stage play, which has been enhanced with music and sound effects.

Congrats DR DRUXY.....here's to many sales and many productions for ALL your shows!

November Vibes of all kinds for MR BK & Companies!
-
Thank you for the vibes DR KEVIN H and all other Dear Readers....they have worked wonders so far, and I am very grateful.
-
Hello, November!!!!
-
Good morning, all!
-
This will be a laundry day. I don't go to City Center until Friday, so I'll putter around the apartment with Annabelle.
-
She's had her breakfast and now she's back in the window looking for birds.
-
The new John Latouche biography arrived yesterday. I read the chapter on Candide, which had a few errors about the music. Annabelle remained uninterested, since she's hung up on the Brigadoon score at the moment. She's not bad at singing "Waiting for my dearie," but the fast lyrics for "My Mother's Wedding Day" are too much for her.
-
I cannot believe it's Wednesday/ It seems as though yesterday was Wednesday and it was only Tuesday. And I sound like Gertrude stein.
-
Good morning, all.
-
DR TCB, take those pills!
-
It's piano work for me all day. Working on this holiday revue, getting the songs into my fingers. First rehearsal in five days.

DR Elmore, sounds like it's time to pick out a suitable voice coach. Get her started in her training before bad habits set in.
-
I cannot believe it's the first of November. I feel like we barely had an October. But November? Isn't this the month that has -- you know, Thanksgiving in it? What the HELL?
-
Speaking about Annabelle, last night around 11, she was playing in her little tent bed when she suddenly freaked and ran madly across the room. I can't describe this well, but she was puttering about, then suddenly looked up, stopped short, and then bolted. When she calmed down, she crawled into bed with me, lay there a bit; then she looked past me, her eyes got huge, and she bolted from the bed and stayed in the bathroom for a while.
I think she met the apartment ghost. It was really unsettling.

LOL!
-
Wednesday morning greetings! It's another puttering day for me, until Richard and I leave for a potluck dinner at the church in Dayton and an All Saints' service.
-
DR Ginny, thanks for alerting me to Bill Landen's passing. I cannot believe that we knew each other, just like Richard and me, for nearly 60 years.
-
DR Elmore, I'm sure there will be more "official" notices about Bill, but the news broke on Facebook courtesy of his niece. Here is one of my favorite photos from the "Look Homeward, Angel" you directed, with Bill playing the doctor attending Ben's death:

The Orange Baboon is on the air. You'd think at this point the ass would have a better grasp of reading from a teleprompter and speaking to the camera. Oh, I forgot: he's a very intelligent person and you can teach this fool nothing.
-
Good morning.

Congrats DR DRUXY.....here's to many sales and many productions for ALL your shows!
Ditto!
-
I had trouble logging on about an hour ago. Anyone else?
-
And................... they're off and running at Barnes and Noble.
Criterion 50% off sale. All month.
-
I had trouble logging on about an hour ago. Anyone else?
Yes. At the moment I tried it and it happened, it only persisted for a minute or so.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
November vibes for all.
-
Congratulations, DR Druxy
-
Elmore, perhaps Annabelle would do better with Selections from On a Clear Day ... or Carmelita.
-
And................... they're off and running at Barnes and Noble.
Criterion 50% off sale. All month.
Those evil, wonderful people. Now, if Criterion would only rerelease La Grand Illusion.
-
;)
;D

I was walking back from town after doing an errand. This morning might be the last of the sunshine for awhile.

I've got theirs ... on laserdisc!
Never picked up the DVD when it was in print. I do have it on Blu-ray, from .....? Somewhere. British or French release, I forget.
-

Yes. At the moment I tried it and it happened, it only persisted for a minute or so.
Same for me. It seems to be all better now.

She wanted to be in this new production at City Center, but Rob refused to let her audition. I keep telling her that it's not because he dislikes cats, it's that she's only a year old.

The faux Faulkner winner has been announced and, yes, it was funny.
http://articles.latimes.com/2004/jul/25/books/bk-sheffield25
But even better is the author’s use of two beautiful words in the same sentence: “an effluvia of ... obduracy.” The way that rolls around on the tongue.
-
Sorry. I had a word moment there.
-
Has anybody seen Greta Gerwig’s Lady Bird? I guess Merrily We Roll Along plays a role in the structure of the film.
-
DR ELMORE that sounds exactly like a cat/spirit encounter......cats are particularly attuned to such things - and are very interested in spirits although they are somewhat confused by them.... The next encounters will probably be more lively until they settle down to bird/prey situations....and then an uneasy truce between the two.... Spirits seek cats - because they are easy to communicate with....

She's spent a lot of time today talking to me and being underfoot. I just took a hot bath, and she sat on the edge of the tub while I was in it. I don't know if this has to do with my being out the past two days or the apartment ghost.
Her new favorite sleeping place during the day is this small Amazon carton next to her cat tree, which used to be her favorite sleeping spot.
Around 10 or so, while I'm reading in bed, she'll crawl in with me.
-
She was telling you all about her encounter with the ghost!
-
DR elmore many of my cats like to keep me company while I took a bath. One even walked the edge of the tub when I showered.
-
Good evening!
-
Page 2?
-
No, Page 3!
-
Many a time we left the tap in the sink with a slow drip simply for the entertainment of the cats.
-
Ask BK day: Will there be a Kritzerland show on December 3rd?
-
When Sandra's cat Rex was really sick a few years ago, the vet said to take him in with us to the bathroom when we showered; the steam would be good for him.
So now as soon as Sandra heads for the bathroom, Rex trots right behind. Because that's how we do it.
-
Annabelle is certainly entertaining!
-
That's a nice cat tree, Elmore. I'm sure she loves it.
-
Jane, it was my eleven PM pills. Usually by midnight, I am settling into a pain free night. But last night, when I forgot to take my pills, I was feeling out of sorts.
-
Annabelle is certainly entertaining!
Annabelle is just what HHW needs.
-
Annabelle is certainly entertaining!
Yes! I think Larry needs to write a children's book called, "Annabelle's Adventures!" WITH Illustrations! :D

How is Neve doing, George?

It took an hour then once you remembered to take the pills? I am sorry you have to take them every night.
-
Elmore, is Brigadoon a full production or a concert version?
I've only seen it once; a community theater production. A small community theater production.
-
How is Neve doing, George?
She's doing well. I'm still experimenting with food for her. She doesn't like the paté food as much as the chunky or shredded cat food, but she doesn't gobble down all of those kinds, either. But, she's not starving. ;D
-
Why would you guys buy candy you hate? I would do the opposite. If it's gonna be leftover then I don't want to eat candy that I dislike. :)
DR JohnG wouldn't most trick-or-treating be almost finished by 8pm. Here it goes from after 6pm till just after 8pm. 8:30am would be the latest.

I honestly do not know, but i'm expecting, with all the dance music that's bring played, that it will be more than a concert. The director-choreographer is Christopher Wheeldon, who staged An American In Paris. The lead in that musical is playing Harry Beaton.

I was thinking of that earlier today. "Annabelle of 82nd street," and she'd talk about her apartment, her many activities, calls on the neighbors, and her slovenly maid, Me, who sleeps late, thinks the place is his, is always late with the food, the ice cream, her tuna treats, opening the blinds, fetching the fishie on a pole, etc.
-

;D You really gotta hate that candy to avoid eating it. For me it was Jolly Ranchers but the kids loved them.

So I won't be tempted to eat it.

"Annabelle's Antics"

I see my friend Robin de Jesus (he was still a student when I started doing musical stuff at the high school) has been cast as Emory in next year's Broadway production of The Boys in the Band (http://www.playbill.com/article/jim-parsons-zachary-quinto-andrew-rannells-and-matt-bomer-to-lead-the-boys-in-the-band-on-broadway).
Edit: Can't get Photobucket to work, but here we are after I saw In the Heights.

Maybe it will be like the Carousel concert that was in costume with dance but didn't have much for sets and had the orchestra on stage.
-
I would buy that book DR ELMORE.
Nice photo and nice connection DR CHAS SMITH.

And about the Photobucket...I got an e-mail a while ago saying that the free account does not allow hot-link 3rd-party hosting to websites...like we've been doing for as long as we've had the account! Supposedly, it's mainly just a storage and sharing site, and only the PLUS 500 subscription plan at $399 a year (http://www.photobucket.com/plans/) :o allows 3rd-party hosting. But some people have still been able to post pictures here without any trouble, so I haven't said anything. But maybe Photobucket is finally cracking down on the hot-linking. I'm not about to pay anything for it, so if it works, it works. And if it doesn't, well, there's nothing else to do...unless someone wants to pay $399 a year. ::)
I didn't think so. ;)
-
I just did a quick search and found this article from July:
Photobucket Just Broke Billions of Photos Across the Web (https://petapixel.com/2017/07/01/photobucket-just-broke-billions-photos-embedded-web/).
:P
-
Anyway, since we're so close, it's time for a...
-
PAGE FOUR DANCE!!
-
And now, I'm off.
Be back later.

No. If it's warm, trick-or-treating can go on until 9 p.m. or even later. When I was a kid, 9 p.m. was the time to return home.

Is that the same one who was such a good Will Parker in the Proms' version of Oklahoma!? He was great.

And you can set it to music, a modified Cole Porter ditty.
When love beckoned on 82nd Street ...

He was fantastic in Camp, a movie I watch every year or so.
-
Took the night off dancing in order to enjoy happy hour with folks from work.
-
We went to an Italian place with a great array of happy hour specials, including ribs, pizzas, calamari, sausage and shrimp dishes, all for under $8 apiece. Feeling very well fed.
-
Then I went to my favorite ice cream parlor for a scoop of coffee and another of chocolate-Grand Marnier. Even happier.
-
Then a trip to Half Price Books for a few early Christmas presents and a Cole Porter set with a couple of songs I don't know.
-
Now I'm watching a thriller/noir/mystery called Plunder of the Sun with Glenn Ford. Neat stuff.
-
Gratuitous post No. 101.
-
Where's Vixmom tonight?
-
She could drum up some posts.
-
I hope she's relaxing, maybe even with a margarita.
-
This one's for Vixmom, my fellow Lutheran:
My boss's daughter dressed as the 95 theses for Halloween/Reformation Day. Cool costume. Or, as I phrased it in a comment on Facebook: She nailed it.
-
Good night, all.

I would love to see a photo of that costume!

Ask BK day: Will there be a Kritzerland show on December 3rd?
There will indeed.
-
I keep falling asleep without warning
-
I napped for about 3 hours.
-
Of course now I'm awake when I should be sleeping
-
Back from taking four bookcases to the new house, food, costume meeting, and rehearsal - we finished assembling the show and I must say I kind of blew my top tonight because no one remembered who did the set changes in act two when we'd set all that. And they just stand around backstage playing around, on their phones, or whatever, instead of actually concentrating on the, you know, show. I felt it was time to be strong and strong I was and then our leading man also said something because he was completely frustrated by it. In my day, if anyone had done anything like that we'd have been tossed out of the department.
-
Elmore I love the idea of your booki. I immediately imagined a beautifully illustrated children's book
-
Nice photo DR Chas.
-
DR John it sounds like you had a very enjoyable evening.
-
I miss the days we could easily post photos here, though I admit the quality rthrogh photobucket is better than the way I used to post them.
-
I have to e awake in 5 hours so I had better go to sleep
-
Can I turn the page here I wonder?
-
Well it yet

Good evening.

Hi, Tom.
-
I'm balancing my checkbook right now.
-
It's been about a month and a half since I last did it. The time before that, it had been almost four months! ::)
;)
-
Hi, George.
-
I am trapped on my bed. Nicky is curled up against me and is sound asleep. Moving is not an option.
-
I'm balancing my checkbook right now.
I do all my banking online. Last week I wrote my first check in probably two years.
-
Jane, it was my eleven PM pills. Usually by midnight, I am settling into a pain free night. But last night, when I forgot to take my pills, I was feeling out of sorts.
It took an hour then once you remembered to take the pills? I am sorry you have to take them every night.
Yes, it was almost one in the morning before I was completely comfortable.
-
I'm balancing my checkbook right now.
I do all my banking online. Last week I wrote my first check in probably two years.
I usually write one check a month for my condo's HOA dues. My checkbook register is an Excel spreadsheet. Otherwise, I frequently go online and check my balance to make sure that I'm not running out of money. It's been a LONG time since that's been a problem.
-
I just have to remember when and where I use my debit card.
-
Today was the old actors' lunch.
-
I had the lasagna. It was good, but not as good as my own lasagna.
-
I doubt I will ever make my own lasagna again.
-
Why not, Tom? You could always freeze it and portion it out one serving at a time. :)
-
I do that with left-over pizza. Of course, I always add a lot of extra cheese. ;)
-
CRANBERRIES!
