Well, you've read the notes, the notes were packed and continued, and now it is time for you to post until the packed cows come home.

I'm back from seeing "Thor: Ragnarok" in IMAX 3D!  It was pretty good!  There was a lot of action and it was quite humorous.

Today, my family is coming to my place for our weekly family dinner.  I'll just need yo do some dishes before they all get here, and my place will be clean enough.

Now that she's eaten, she's spending her time between the window and me.  I can't tell if she's feeling unloved this morning or trying to get me revved up for a game of fishie on a pole.

I had planned to go to the MACC today and look at cats, but I think I will wait for the outcome on Thatch.

Last night on their website they posted a new arrival, 10-month old Toby, whose owner just dumped him at the Brooklyn shelter.  If he were in Manhattan, I'd go over today and adopt him, but it's too far out for me to go wandering on a cane and bad leg.

I heard that this may be the funniest of the Marvel movies. That certainly makes it more appealing than the first Thor movie, which was just too self-important.

Listening to Bridges of Madison County, which I picked up for a few bucks recently. Kelli O'Hara's Italian accent (and the all-too-frequent disappearance thereof) is really irritating. But I like the music more than I remember. It's better than the source material.

I have a little tidying up along with the litter box.  Last night, just as I finished assembling my morning meds for the week, Annabelle, who was helping me by sniffing all the various vials and cartons, sneezed all over them.  If I die, it's her fault.

I love the play The Little Foxes and I like most of the film because it's so well done and Bette Davis is wonderful.  That said, I hated the screenwriters inventing a love interest for daughter Alexandra.  I guess that no proper young lady would have the nerve to walk out on her mother at the conclusion without a strong man to lean on and run to.  Lillian Hellman's women have plenty of backbone on their own.

When the MACC acquires a litter of kittens under 8 weeks of age, they need to find someone to foster them.  They refer to the litter by some silly name and assign each kitten a name in that category.  This is last night's group of three 6-week olds

There are many suggestions regardig clothing for Africa.  It seems there are more clothes to avoid than to actually wear.  I found one discussion about the ridiculous outfits people wear to Africa, including pith helmets.

Well, I think I may be getting Thatch.  Carol, the lady in charge, has called me and we had a long talk.  she also talked to Joshie, so I now she's checking my references now.  Our very kind DR ChasSmith has told me, in case of my death, that he would adopt Annabelle and Thatch or possibly another.  I am very grateful for that since I know they would be treated very well.

Sunday afternoon greetings!  I attended niece Rev. Amy’s church this morning because my Mom was among those for whom an All Souls candle was lit.  Fr. Richard stayed home to recover from a long trip to Lima yesterday with 2 priest colleagues for the final final Anglican service.  The building has been sold to a Baptist congregation.

After I got home, changed clothes, and ate some lunch we went grocery shopping ahead of the severe weather.  I’ve opted out of roasting the 6 pound chicken I bought, for fear the power will go out halfway through the cooking time.  We have other things we can eat for dinner and we can do the chicken tomorrow.

I might add some cayenne or jalapeno next time. I think a little after kick would be good. I really like jalapeno pecan brittle.

Definitely bourbon instead of vanilla. And while I liked full pecan halves, I might do a coarse chop to make things easier to slice in the future.

There was very little here in Tumwater, but my mom said that in Lacey, they got "a lot" this morning.

How was your family dinner?

It was fine.  My dad and I had hamburgers and my mom, sister and niece had stir-fry with shrimp.  We played Phase 10 and I came in 3rd (out of 5).

I microwaved the hamburgers and made the coffee in my new coffee press that I only got because my parents drink coffee and I don't, and if they're going to be coming over on a regular basis, they'll want coffee on a regular basis.

You microwaved the hamburgers?  Really?

Yes.  But it wasn't raw hamburger.  They were fully cooked, frozen angus hamburgers that you just heat and eat.  They're quite good!  You can (usually) get them at Costco.

Oh, okay.  I have had those before.  I like them.

I'm showered, dressed and waiting for the family.  I took this picture of my very own piano. :D

Nice, and how did you post it?  I thought we don't have photobucket anymore.

We don't...for the most part.  It still works for posting for some people.  I don't know why.  But anyone can still use it to just store pictures online.  Anyway, I posted my picture in HHW's "Attachments and other options" link in the "Reply" (not "Quick Reply") box.

When I try to post a photo using the attachment option it says my photo is too large.

Now that your place is cleaned and organized you will be hosting your family more often?

Yup.  The picture has to be under 192 kb in size, even though the Restrictions says, "4 per post, maximum total size 192KB, maximum individual size 256KB."  That does't make sense....for 4 pictures, the maximum total size has to be less than the maximum individual picture size? ???

I recently got an app for my phone that can resize pictures to a small enough size (in kilobytes, not dimensions), so that I can post them here.

Yes.  My mom wants to make sure that I keep my place relatively cleaned, so she said that we WILL have our weekly family dinner here once a month.

And since I cannot make the photos smaller on my computer it is a dilemma.   Hmmm, maybe if I text the photo in a smaller size that will work.  If it does the photo won't look as good.

Yes.  She and my sister are no longer exclusively vegan.  They now have some fish/seafood, free-range eggs that my mom gets from someone she knows, and dairy cheese.  No land-based animals.

It is hard being a vegan in this world of non vegans.

I miss my free range eggs from the lady down the road in Ashland.  They tasted much better than what I have found here.
