Title: KRITZERLAND AT STERLING'S 82
Post by: bk on November 06, 2017, 12:17:34 AM
Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of Kritzerland at 82, and now it is time for you to post until the 82 cows come home.

The first Topic of the Day shows that I can think of are:  Me and My Girl (love the two cast recordings from the 1980s and saw a local production), The Boy Friend (love several cast recordings and played Lord Brockhurst at age 26 ;D ), and Divorce Me, Darling (only based on the recording).  It's the sequel to The Boy Friend set 10 years later.  It has a delightful score.

Last night Annabelle got completely wasted on catnip.  She played with that catnip squeaking rodent and talked back to it forever, then she played with her new ball toy, instigated another round of fishie on a pole, and then returned to her catnip rodent.  I was exhausted by the time I turned out the lights.

Post by: ChasSmith on November 06, 2017, 05:23:50 AM
If you think catnip in a toy is a hoot, try misting their scratching post or climber or tent, etc., with catnip extract.  It's actually fairly expensive, I think, and we only have a tiny perfume-sized bottle because someone gave it to us.  But...wow, it's like shooting it right into their bloodstream.

More work on songs today, and first rehearsal for the holiday revue this evening.

I'm actually helping proofread and correct these songs.  My friend writes good songs, but he's using some ancient free program to notate and print them, and if you think sloppy Finale work is bad, you should see these things.  Not because he's sloppy, but this damned program, whatever it is, doesn't have quite the flexibility and sophistication we're accustomed to nowadays.  For instance, a glissando appears as a grotesque note-for-note scale.  I'm used to that now, but yikes.

Monday morning greetings!  Today is the beginning of a very busy week for me.  All 3 organizations in which I'm active have events this week and Richard and I have some joint things on the calendar, too.  First order of business today:  pop the corn so that I can make my first batch of caramel corn tonight for this weekend's holiday bazaar.

I see "not available" (yet? or sold out?) ( https://www.nycitycenter.org/pdps/brigadoon/ ) for all shows except the opening night gala ($2500+).  But I might be able to go on that Friday night or one of the Sunday shows.

I need to tidy up, clean the litter and pick up.  Annabelle's like a hurricane; she jumps onto a table and things scatter.  I am determined to rid the apartment of a 4-drawer filing cabinet, so I need to do some serious sorting and eliminating this next week as well.

What will you do with the filing cabinet?  Put it on the street?  Does Val have a use for it?

Last night I received news that one of my great theatre guides passed away.  He had been instrumental in getting the barn and property that was later turned into our theatre....he started the second year of Putnam County Playhouse - then known as Greencastle Summer Theater....in 1963....

We did many shows together....I joined in 1979.  We didn't always see eye to eye....but we always had a good time....we directed each other in many productions.  He served many terms as President of our Board of Directors.  Although he was no longer on the board, he came to all the shows I directed and was in.....  I cast him as Arvide in GUYS & DOLLS a few seasons ago, it was his last time onstage.

Arrangement should be known today or tomorrow.  I am working on a story for the website.

Life is short!

We had a round of find the fishie at Annabelle's insistence.  I realize that because this fishie can also fly up into the air, she might think it's a bird.  Is this her outlet after watching the birds on the fire escape?

I've been cleaning out DVD drawers and Annabelle either crawls into the drawer when space opens up or she crawls into the empty storage carton and lies there while I'm trying to full it with unwanted DVDs.  She has been fired.  Val came by and that cheered her up.

Much as I am excited about Thatch, it's been an otherwise shitty day: no check, no working elevator.

This delay, since the second week of October, has completely screwed up my cash flow put me in serious trouble if I cannot pay an outstanding bill before November 15.  Since I cannot account for the delay, nor clearly anticipate its arrival either, I am really very concerned about the situation.

Well, Miss Annabelle got her first little paddling and a bit of a bath.  While my back was turned, she jumped onto the table, landed in my dinner and got mushroom soup all over the table, floor and herself.  The maid was not amused, but everything is now cleaned up.

Tomorrow, when I return from my doctor's appointment, I'll mop the floor

Reminds me of my late cat, Jasmine.

I needed my gas fireplace repaired.  The workman arrived; opened up the front part of the fireplace, then turned around to get a tool out of his box.  When he turned back, he did a double-take; said "There's something moving in there!"

When his back was turned, Jasmine had crawled into the open front part of the fireplace and settled in.

She's been gone over 10 years, but I still miss her.

I approved the audio edition of (Errol) FLYNN today.

Once ACX checks it over, the play should be available for download in 10-14 days.

Now, I'm just waiting for the guy to come through this week with the audio edition of (Basil) RATHBONE.

Not sure that will happen.  I may have to start looking for another actor.

Too bad.  This guy is good.

DR elmore do you have a spray bottle of water?  A paddling, same with dogs, after the deed is done usually does not work.  A spray of water during the moment will often get the message across.

I taught our cats the word "scoot", meaning right now it is not ok to be where you are even if it is normally ok.

Today for Middletown Current Events Club I attended the November meeting, prepared and delivered the treasurer's report, collected dues from 14 members, and prepared a bank deposit.  For AAUW Middletown, I made the first of 2 batches of caramel corn for the holiday bazaar; emailed the November newsletter to our 21st century members; printed, collated, and addressed copies of said newsletter for our 6 Luddite members; posted the newsletter to our website and Facebook page; and sent it to 35 AAUW members-at-large who live in SW Ohio and for whom we were provided email addresses.

I heard recently that retirement can be just as busy as employment, except you don't get paid.

Why does my spellcheck capitalize everything as if this were German?

Many years ago, the default dictionary for Word at my work somehow got switched to French!  Of course, the computer people had to fix it.  I have no idea what happened, or how to fix it if it ever happens again.  Fortunately, it hasn't.

The vet has started Nicky on glucosamine.  I sprinkle a capsule full on his food every evening.  It was that or shoving a capsule down his throat evey day.

Was it specifically a prescription or did your vet just recommend it?
