Well, you've read the notes, the notes crossed 200, and now it is time for you to post until the 200 cows come home.

To continue about last night's rehearsal:  I only missed one sound cue...a doorbell sound.  I got lost for a moment, and then while trying to find the place in the script where the actors were, I couldn't even hear them to tell where they were!  Anyway, the director gave them the note to speak louder in general.  We'll see if they actually take the note. ::)

Annabelle's restless this morning.  She's all over me and the computer, but when I try to hold her, she avoids me,  Then she comes back and we redo the whole process.  She sniffs my coffee, then turns away.  The birds have not arrived, and I suspect it may be the result of the weather.  The bread is set out and it's usually eaten by this point.

Nothing worse that a bored kitty.

SNOW!

Only a couple of inches, because fortunately we were just a few miles below the path of yesterday’s Texas-to-Maine storm.

And the snowblower is still in the shop, so the less there is to push around, the better.

Weird night of dreams in which I was involved in a heist against my employer. I got away with it, as did my cohorts, but all of us were under suspicion thereafter, so only the rich and already retired ones involved could really enjoy themselves.

I was too beat to commemorate the occasion last night, but before the (thankfully) delayed storm got here yesterday evening, I was able to run out to the local Apple Store and bring home my first ever:

15" MacBook Pro, 2015 model -- pre-touch bar, and with real ports.  Love them ports.

It took a year, maybe longer, of decision making to arrive at this moment.  And it's certainly challenging.  I do feel overwhelmed when trying out different things, and finding some of those different things to be, well, different.  But I'll get there, without regrets.  This is all about being better with musical activities, and I'll be ready to begin learning Mainstage (for really good keyboard programming) very soon now.

It's weird to me that Doris Day filmed MIDNIGHT LACE in London, but there are no shots of her or any of the other principal cast actually IN England.....  I would guess they were there and that Rex Harrison could do it because he was doing MY FAIR LADY in London at the time it was filmed.

When I was younger, I watched Another World. There was a character who drove me crazy. She was an irritating worry-wort. I later found out the actress was Kathleen Widdoes, highly regarded stage actress.

I’m now watching Widdoes as Beatrice in A 1972 version of Much Ado About Nothing. Sam Waterston is Benedick. Douglas Watson, Mac from Another World, is also on hand. All are wonderful.

Futzed and finessed and wrote one new page, then went and had a bacon cheeseburger and a salad at Marie Callendar's.  Now I'm back, wrote five more pages, and will two two more in a little while, then take a break, and that will leave me seven to do later tonight.  Oh, and I crossed page two hundred.  And we had one miraculous miracle today that does solve at least some of the problems.

I don't remember if I had the previous (unofficial) CD/MP3 release.  If I did, I don't remember the quality.  This is pretty good, but it sounds a little distorted when it gets louder, like they raised the volume a bit too loud when they worked on the audio files.  It isn't bad, but it's a bit noticeable.  It isn't bothering me...yet. ;)

When I left for lunch, I was thinking about walking to a place that's just down the street, but it was a little chilly (I was wearing a light jacket), so I decided to drive.  Just as I started my car, my low fuel light came on, so I decided to go to Costco to get gas and have lunch at Taco Del Mar instead (it's pretty close to Costco).  While I was eating, it started raining.  I was very glad that I didn't walk.  I would've been drenched walking back to work! :P

There is nothing "official" about the Donnybrook release.  It's from the UK where they are taking advantage of the fifty-year copyright rule for stuff pre 1964.  It's a vinyl transfer, which is why there's distortion - because that company is inept at this stuff.  Compare their Expresso Bongo to ours.

DR JANE maybe it was a logistical thing - Doris "wrote" in her "autobiography" that there was always a huge crowd outside her London hotel, and she couldn't go anywhere without being mobbed....she didn't say it in a 'humble brag' way....but matter of factly......

Folks used to yell up their names, Doris would sign pictures for them, and her son Terry would throw them out the window to them....

I never imagined she would brag, just stating the facts.

That is funny about the autographs.  Thanks for the story on this.

As John has pointed out chili should not be sweet and I know he cringes at the thought of me adding brown sugar to my chili

Usually I am the first one to "sellout" as people come back for seconds or thirds, and bring others back with them

What to do, what to do....

If you want to win you have to make it how the judges tend to vote, if they are the same judges from previous years.

Would you rather win and have leftover chili or be the first to sellout?

Having to return to work drenched would not have been fun.

It actually wouldn't have been the first time. ::)

;)

Considering you only took a lightweight jacket to work when rain was predicted, this does not surprise me ;D

I never check to see what the weather will be like throughout the week.  I just see what it's like in the morning when I leave my house.  I do have a couple of umbrellas in my car, so I could've brought one of them with me, but my car needed gas anyway, so it all worked out.

About two miles.  She's just on the other side of the freeway from me...actually, off the same street that I live on.
