I'm dealing with two hungry kittens at the moment.  I cannot feed Thatch until Annabelle's inside her carrier, and I don't want to put her into it until it's about time to leave.

After I drop her off at the vet, I will head down to City Center.  Joshie is back from vacation and he's golding my last Encores! check.  I have no idea how long it will be before the vet contacts me to pick her up.

At some point she discovered Johnston's frozen custard pie was good and began keeping one in the freezer for a quick treat.

Last Thursday it was so balmy and nice here, it felt exactly like winter was now past us and it was the first day of spring.  Haven't been out yet, but I suspect it's that way again today.  It certainly looks that way, with our 2-day-old 8 inches of snow nearly gone!  Tomorrow will be insane, with it getting near 70.

Thanks-lol.  It really is very light and I don't have anywhere to go today.

My walking partner had to back out due to an issue.  I am relieved she did not need to take me up on my offer to drive her anywhere today.  I was looking forward to hot chocolate & pumpkin bread at the coffee shop.

I am home from City Center and waiting to hear when to pick up my baby.

Dr Mohr called me around 11:30 to tell me the procedure was about to begin and that she wanted to confirm there is no heart murmur (Big Sigh of relief!) and that she had a slight temperature and fast heart beat that she attributed to Annabelle's fright and anxiety.  I'm expecting the pickup call in the next 30 minutes.

The good news is that I can pick her up now.

There are no polyps anywhere and that's a Big Relief.  Dr Mohr thinks the problem could be caused by infection in her broken fang - so dental work is the next project - or possibly an allergy.  We'll continue till we fnd the source.

No, this isn't a lot of snow, even for Olympia.  But 10 feet high snow is absolutely unheard of in this area!  We're too close to the water (Puget Sound) to get a lot more...normally.  We'd never get that unless the world was ending. ;)

Annabelle's lights are on but no one's home.  She looks like my baby, she has some of my baby's attributes, but she's not behaving much like my cat.  She like the evil things that come back from Pet Sematary.

Should I be worried or blame it on the drugs?
Title: Re: THE DAILY GROUND GRIND
Post by: ChasSmith on February 20, 2018, 03:11:17 PM
It's the drugs.

Don't be worried.  She was sedated, and that knocks some of them for a loop.  Our boy Poe isn't himself the rest of the day when he's had that.  And we saw it a few years back in little Kali, who was built more like Annabelle.  In fact, one of the times she was sedated she was weird for TWO days.

All you really have to do is watch over them as it slowly wears off.  Try not to let her climb up high, for instance, lest she lose her balance.  And don't worry if her appetite's off.

Larry, yes, the tub overflowing is something anyone could do. I'd be surprised if there isn't some sort of device that fits the tub and beeps or something. A truly forgetful person might not know what the phone alarm was for. But, then again, they might not recall what the tub beep is for. Life is full of gotchas.

My new fleece line waterproof, windproof pants arrived in the mail today.  I am going to test them and see if they keep me warm.  It is not really wet enough out there to truly test if they are rainproof.

I never bought any waterproof pants, but I was certainly tempted. I can really see the need.

After I posted about Annabelle's condition, she started showing signs of her old self.  She's even beginning to remember who I am and that she loves me.

I really needed them our first spring here.  More than just waterproof the fleece lining is warmer, and that I need right now.  I have never walked in so much rain.  I still wouldn't have any if my neighbor hadn't given me a few different styles she picked up.  After I ordered these she gave me a different style to try I liked better, but I wanted to wear them today.  I am also 1 size down from her and there was no guarantee the other pants would have fit in my size.

I still have my old snow pants, but I think that is a bit too much for here.  Did you used to wear ski pants in the winter?

It is disconcerting when they are still groggy and not themselves.  I recall picking Echo up once and she trotted to the car just fine.  After we got her home she kept tipping over and we were worried.  The vet was shocked when I called.  We figured she just wanted to go home so much she pretended to be fine.  Once home she turned into the baby she was-lol  After a few hours she was fine.

I right-clicked and downloaded it to my computer, then added that to my post in the Reply box under the "Attachments and other options" link.  It only works if the file size is 192kb or less (which that one was).

It's automatically made a bit smaller when it displays.  If you click on the picture, it'll enlarge to the original visual size.

DR JRand, sorry to hear about your credit card news. I have my credit card set up so that it sends me an email every time the card is used. I find this super helpful. And it gives me comfort to know that I would know right away if someone else used it.

I get a text for my credit cards and debit card.  It rally is a great free service and makes me feel safer

The good news is that I can pick her up now.

There are no polyps anywhere and that's a Big Relief.  Dr Mohr thinks the problem could be caused by infection in her broken fang - so dental work is the next project - or possibly an allergy.  We'll continue till we fnd the source.

WONDERFUL news!!!!!!

Been relaxing.  I think the final PDF of the book is going to Doug tonight.  I got the six fixes and, of course, immediately found one other, which is now fixed.  There's a fun little photo gallery in the back of the book - total page count with that and the acknowledgements is 230.

This is the Pacific Northwest, I will have plenty of opportunities to test them while walking in the rain.  If I get wet it will still be better than what I usually wear.
