Well, you've read the notes, the notes came up for air, and now it is time for you to post until the airy cows come home.

I was E & T yesterday because we had to be in Dayton for Richard’s podiatry procedure, which went well.  We then had a nice brunch at First Watch and I did a couple of errands while he waited in the car.  I had a long nap when we got home, then watched Wonder Woman with him.

Annabelle has a new favorite place to sleep: the bottom of my bed under all the blankets, curled up at my feet. I'm a restless sleeper, so I have to maneuver carefully not to kick her or injure her as I toss about.  Then, to add insult to injury, when Thatch jumps in with us, he walks all over her on top of the blankets.

TOD - Montgomery Inn barbecue sauce on ribs, chicken, and Saratoga chips.

Speaking of sauce, I’m serving chocolate and caramel sauces on the side with sopapillas tonight for book group.  The book we’re discussing takes place mostly in Los Alamos and the main character often orders sopalilla with her coffee.  Tonight’s are coming from a local Mexican restaurant where DR Elmore and I have eaten several times.

Ginny, it’s funny you mentioned barbecue sauce. That’s often not my favorite because too many can be sweet. But it made me remember an espresso barbecue sauce that is so perfect on brisket and beef ribs. Now I’m hungry.

Using vixmom's link to Telecharge and navigating to the July 7th matinee, I see plenty of orchestra seats ($59) still available in the center section. It's a small theater, so I'm thinking.....3rd row center?

Marinara with meat sauce or olive oil with garlic and butter. A pink sauce, which I guess is marina with cream in it, can be very nice too. Alfredo tends to be very bland.

Haven't posted about dreams in a while, and I've had a few classic doozies lately, so here are last night's two:

One involved some laundry. I suddenly realized I hadn't moved a large load from either the washer or the dryer (yes, it's ambiguous), and I rushed into the laundry room to pull the stuff out before someone else needed to use it, AND before they'd see that I'd had to wash this one big thing which seemed to be a thick comforter or some such. I was dismayed to find it still folded into a near little bundle, just as I'd put it in there, instead of having gotten properly opened up and thoroughly cleaned (or dried) as you'd expect. It was slightly damp, but I decided to set it aside, put the other stuff away, and I'd do it over again later. Not sure what, if anything, happened next.

The other dream (or other part of that one) was yet another variation on one of my classic themes, that of returning to one of the offices where I'd worked. Too complicated to attempt to describe, but usually in these I'm working there again (or still?), and this one had to do with wanting to revisit one department or part of the building where supplies used to be kept, and I think where some of us (in the dream) used to work in the past. Every time I thought I was going in the right direction to get there, I'd see all these people coming out to go home, and though I thought I'd just spotted a few people I knew, invariably they were nowhere to be found and it was just these hordes of strangers. Along with this segment was another classic variation on the office theme, that of re-exploring the corridors in a two- or three-storied building that was sort of recognizable as one of the places I'd worked in real life, many many years ago. (In Beverly Hills, in fact, the original Litton Industries buildings, an old one and a newer one, on Crescent Drive.)

Oy!

I asked Val to change the bulbs in my kitchen ceiling light.  I can no longer risk the ladder and maneuver 10 feet off the ground, so he came up an accomplished it in less than 10 minutes. Annabelle loves him and they had some flirtation time together so she's very happy at the moment.

Last night I had a doozy of a dream.  The New York City Gay Men's Chorus, with whom I've had no contact since 2013, was doing the Big Band Concert "Ten Cents A Dance" from 1988.  The only persons I remember in the dream were the late Marty Christian. former executive director and AIDS victim, and Diana Montague, my Aunt Minnie from my Roberta recording.

There is that. ::) But you could tell them that because of their behavior this time, you'll never cast them EVER AGAIN in the future.  I have known directors who've said that, and have NOT cast certain people (on subsequent projects), even though they're good actors and give good auditions.

Topic of the Day (in no particular order):

Chocolate
Caramel
White
Alfredo
Marinara
Country gravy (gravy's a sauce, right?)
Cheese (aka queso)
Barbecue (although, I can't be specific as to which type)

And many others as well, I'm sure. :D

Thanks, DR Elmore!

I’m assuming we’d do the matinee?

I hope so, I grabbed a ticket quick before I went to work !

I was E & T yesterday because we had to be in Dayton for Richard’s podiatry procedure, which went well.  We then had a nice brunch at First Watch and I did a couple of errands while he waited in the car.  I had a long nap when we got home, then watched Wonder Woman with him.
I have to read slower ....I read that as

"I had a long nap while he waited in the car"

TOD - Montgomery Inn barbecue sauce on ribs, chicken, and Saratoga chips.

Speaking of sauce, I’m serving chocolate and caramel sauces on the side with sopapillas tonight for book group.  The book we’re discussing takes place mostly in Los Alamos and the main character often orders sopalilla with her coffee.  Tonight’s are coming from a local Mexican restaurant where DR Elmore and I have eaten several times.

I have never heard of a sopalilla

Vixmom:  No, Kristi's not in finance or mortgages. She's been their receptionist for years, which has actually been a great job for her because this office loves her and supports her using a generous amount of time for her personal writing projects and such.

That's wonderful!

Ginny, it’s funny you mentioned barbecue sauce. That’s often not my favorite because too many can be sweet. But it made me remember an espresso barbecue sauce that is so perfect on brisket and beef ribs. Now I’m hungry.

Sweet is good.  There are few things that can't be improved by a generous helping of brown sugar

Had a pretty smooth run of Kay's show.  There are three new songs in it - replacing stuff I didn't think worked well the first time around, after seeing it with an audience.  the new stuff works very well, but I had to adjust some patter that was in the wrong place because of the changes.  Other than that, just a few performance notes and we're all ready for Sunday.

Then I finally went and picked up the fixed books, so you all have what would be called the first state of the first edition, as any books that are purchased anywhere from here on in will be the fixed version. :)  Has anyone who actually has the book realized what's off about it?  It's very subtle but I'm curious if anyone has figured that out.

mputer. But if DR Jrand67 has to see if he can FIND it...

I always envision The computer from Desk Set...what was it called? Emerac?

I felt like a sentence was missing on page 139 after the word "home" in the 4th paragraph and the word "she" in the 5th

Nope, just moving the story along.  It isn't a typo or missing thing - I have, thus far, found only two problems in that regard, both minor - one, the beginning of one sentence is off by a space in terms of where it should start on the page - barely noticeable and doubtful anyone could locate it, the other is a missing hyphen, and also barely discernible.  So, so far we've been lucky with this one.

No, only on the printed edition.  Again, not a typo or missing thing - that I would never stand for.  This is more subtle and doesn't really involve anything in the writing at all.

Since Keith's birthday is on Saturday we are going to Olympic National Park, leaving tomorrow morning.  I have been told we might not have cell service.  Hopefully we will have wife at the hotels.  Don't be surprised if I am not around much until Tuesday.

Hey all, before I go the eBay route, I moved recently and have slowly been going through boxes of stuff in the garage, just to sort out and organize what's out there - and I came upon this treasure trove of souvenir programs, all signed, usually by the entire company and crew -  I have no idea at all where I got these or when, but obviously I got them and I don't really need them.  So, let me tell you what they are and if you're interested just PM me to discuss - separately or as one lot, but I'm not interested to just "give" them away, if you get my meaning.  Nor am I looking to overcharge or be stupid.  Most of these are signed to someone named Jerry, who was involved in the tour, or his friend Marjorie.  There are several souvenir programs for Hello, Dolly - they include, Mary Martin (signed by her and the company, including Loring Smith, Marilynn Lovell, Carlton Carpenter, etc.  The Dorothy Lamour tour, signed by  Lamour, Eric Brotherson and everyone else.  The Betty Grable tour, signed by Grable, Max Showalter, Billie Hayes (!), Danny Lockin, and everyone else, including tour director Lucia Victor.  The Channing tour, signed boldly by her, Milo Boulton, Rex Robbins, and everyone else.  An Oliver souvenir program signed by three members of the tour cast, including Robin Ramsey and Maura K. Wedge, and Danny Sewell. The D'Oyly Carte Opera Company signed by everyone.  The Lincoln Center 1960s Carousel, signed by John Raitt, Eileen Christy, Susan Watson, Jerry Orbach, Benay Venuta, Edward Everett Horton, and others.  Man of La Mancha, signed by Keith Andes, Natalie Costa, Tony Martinez, Earle McVeigh, Sandy Kenyon and everyone else.  Any Wednesday, signed by Larry Parks, Monica Moran (Thelma Ritter's daughter, and Richard Roat.  And last but hardly least, the souvenir program for I Do! I Do! signed to Robert by Mary Martin and Robert Preston.  On the Mary Martin page paper-clipped in is a photo of a young boy in a hat.  No idea if that's Robert or what.  Also laid in is the smaller program.  So, PM me if anyone is interested.

Dorothy Lamour program may be spoken for, depending on the offer.  Speak quickly, these will all go fast, especially the Martin/Preston and the Martin Dolly.
