Well, you've read the notes, the notes played Bach on the staircase, and now it is time for you to post until the playing Bach on the staircase cows come home.

Oh, yeah, the Tony Awards bash is tonight - I forgot since I don't have any TV and won't be able to watch so I will expect full and complete reports right here.

I wish I could sleep in.  Today is the Olympia's Capital City Pride (https://www.capitalcitypride.net/welcome/).  My sister needs me at 9:00 am :o to help put up the tent for the PFLAG booth.  I'll stay for a while, and might walk in the parade.  The whole event supposed to end at 6:00 pm (or maybe 5:00...sources vary), so I plan on being home before the left coast broadcast of the Tony Awards at 8:00.

Well, I need to go to sleep now so that I can get my butt outta bed early enough, not just to go downtown, but to find a parking place!  It's gonna be a madhouse...a very festive madhouse...but definitely a madhouse. ;)

Good night and have a good day, all!

Today is our matinee.....sold out.  Doing the show twice in less than 24 hours is always a lot of fun....although I don't think theater is a DAYTIME activity.

The show as very good last night.  Bryson and I shortened our Curtain Speech, we got big laughs, and set the night off to a good start....we shall do the same today....

Marine Brent from the Staircase Case....is a friend of mine.  We did a couple of shows at the Phoenix Theatre and attended many parties together.

He enjoys talking about the case and his "celebrity" in it....he was also a Showcase Winner on The Price Is Right....wearing his uniform...

I don't know if he is featured in any of the NEW material, but I am sure if he was asked, he was there!

Nice guy....but not exactly....trustworthy.  He is now the partner of a very wealthy man with whom he lives in the Carolinas.....

LOL DR FJL.....they ARE funny.

I suspect DR ELMORE is correct about the DEH performance....but I guess I would just as soon see that as more than one number from SPONGE BOB or MEAN GIRLS.....

I would really rather see a number from The Great Comet - I liked the one they presented last year....

But then again, after tonight, I may have some new CD's to buy.

I suspect the producers are paying for it to push the tour going out.

They're updating for the tour, afraid that tour crowds won't like the challenging aspects of the story:

Evan will suffer from very high self-esteem rather than very low self-esteem; he'll have parents who drive him to get caught in a lie by being there too much (the mother's great show-stopping number doesn't even need to be rewritten that much, just a new costume); and instead of consoling Connor's family for Connor's suicide, Connor will have just left to join a production of GYPSY as Tulsa.  The new title will, of course, be DEAR EVAN HANDSOME.

It'll kill in Vegas, for sure.  Will likely sit down there for years.

Ushered for the first half of a pops concert today celebrating Rodgers and Hammerstein. The tunes I was most interested in hearing were all in the first half, including All the Things You Are and Falling in Love with Love.

Alli Mauzey and William Michals were the soloists. She was OK, he was really good with a bass baritone that suited Ol' Man River. There was also a choir of about 40 voices as a chorus. Too bad they didn't do the full version of All the Things You Are.

Then I came home and faced some unpleasant business I needed to attend to. As I was leaving Houston at around 11 p.m. last night, I saw a Facebook post from a friend's ex-husband in which he announced himself as gender queer, though he was quick to add that he wasn't gay. Whatever. He's still friends with a lot of her friends and I knew she didn't know this. So, I had to fill her in and listen to her go through a couple of stages of grief.

This is not easy for either of them.

A crappy useless opening number dammit.....

But a subject I've never seen in an opening number:  Since the hosts never won anything ever (can that be right), it started with a subject likem Here's to the people who go home emptyhanded.

Did Groban and Bareilles really never win any award ever?  Or was that just for the sake of the song?

Groban and Bereilles sang about losing a Tony then ensemble members from Broadway shows came out and paraded around the runway.....

Now we're be treated to Mean Girls.....

Tina Faye says ALL of the nominated musicals were based on MOVIES.....

There was something bleeped in the "Mean Girls" number.  Was it a delay due to the double entendre on the word "tromboners" maybe?

Let's just say I have videos of the complete new My Fair Lady and Carousel.  My Fair Lady has no pace at all - I didn't mind the Higgins, but I found Ms. Ambrose weird - and The Rain in Spain fell completely flat.  However, compared to Carousel it was brilliant - Carousel is worse than a high school staging.

I hear the highlight was the Parkland students, although what that has to do with the Tonys is anyone's guess.  I've heard the numbers are mostly not too hot.  And having JUST watched Carousel, the choreography is so bad - I don't know why people like this guy - it's just ordinary stuff, a lot of sound and fury signifying nothing.  And the other numbers, especially the opening are much worse.  Certainly the worst Carousel Waltz I've ever seen.

Well, I hate to do this (no, I really do), but I need to go to sleep now.  Today was quite the busy day, and I stood for most of it while outside in the alternating warm sun and cold rain, and now I'm tired.  I had to get up much earlier than I normally do, even earlier than my normal weekday wakings! :P I can barely keep my eyes open, so I'm not going to try anymore.

Good night and have a good day tomorrow, all!
