Well, you've read the notes, the notes remembered, and now it is time for you to post until the remembering cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: SEMAPHORE!
-
Today is the PNW & Visiting East Coasters HHW The Last Starfighter Get Together!
-
:D
-
Off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good day to all
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have a vague memory of a dream involving an old truck, my brother Randy, the house where I grew up, our neighbor Jack Tilton, the costume designer at Miami University and absolutely no memory of how the pieces fit together.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Another day, another ..... day.
The sheetrock guy begins today.
-
Good morning.
-
After three long months of treatment, my birding buddy was just released from the hospital and has a plane ticket home this afternoon.

Today is the PNW & Visiting East Coasters HHW The Last Starfighter Get Together!
😊😊😊
-
DR TCB, to answer your question....... Yes Fred arrived safely.
-
Don't forget to send him a text if you expect to be later than 2:30 as he is going out to lunch and possibly rushing back.
-
I hope he does not go to Matt's for lunch.
-

Hmmmm, I don't remember or didn't realize she needed to fly home.
Very, very easy travel vibes for her!
-
Thursday morning greetings!
Today is the PNW & Visiting East Coasters HHW The Last Starfighter Get Together!
Have fun, everyone, and please post some pictures!
-
Yes we need photographic evidence of the Great Northwest HHW Gathering.
-
I doubt a LOT of the extra tickets sold for ANNIE will translate into larger audiences for other shows....most of those folks bought tickets to see little Olive Ann and Daisy Mae as an orphan and could not care less about anything else.
One season ticket holder called up and is mad because he can't come on his regular night - every other night is sold out - and we won't put up chairs for him to sit together with his seatmates....Fire Marshall or not....
Another woman turned in her tickets last night and was outraged she couldn't get a refund....it's printed ON the ticket.....
I hate people....
-
But the show went well....three more times....and then PAROLE!!!!
-
TOD:
I know I liked the Beatles - Sgt. Pepper and Magical Mystery Tour. They had lots of things coming out of both speakers....
The ANNETTE Buena Vista Stereo albums were always fun....she was usually on the center channel with different instruments on left and right....and on a couple of numbers she sang with herself with her voice on left and right and instruments in the middle....

I don't think Fred should worry if he isn't back by 2:30. We can all amuse ourselves until he returns to the Inn.
-
Love the TOD, but there are so many great ones to choose from. For starters, a few classical classics that pop right into my head...
Mercury: Schoenberg/Berg/Webern "Vienna-No 5" album, London/Dorati
Mercury: Gershwin Concerto in F & Rhapsody in Blue, Eastman-Rochester/Hanson/Eugene List, piano
RCA: Debussy Images for Orchestra, Boston/Munch
RCA: Menotti Amahl and the Night Visitors (1964 broadcast), NBC/Grossman
London: Bartok Miraculous Mandarin (suite), London/Solti
Sheffield: Stravinsky, Firebird (suite), Los Angeles/Leinsdorf
Top-notch performances, all, but representing a few different - and all wonderfully executed - types of acoustic and recording.

I'm up, I'm up - only about seven hours of sleep due to Active Brain Syndrome.

I am really looking forward to tonight!
So am I.
-
I also like that we are close enough to drive up for the night.
-
A chance to eat dinner at Matt's!!
Have you eaten there before?
-
It helps that I have a chauffeur who also enjoys these short trips.
-
A chance to eat dinner at Matt's!!
No, no. Kidding. Looking forward to THE LAST STRFIGHTER. And to seeing Fred.
-
Not in that order.
-
;D

Keith has never met Fred, and wonder if Fred actually remembers meet in me. So many of us invaded his house on the day of the walking tour ;D

I am not sure that is a good thing :)
Oh yes, it is.

A number of years ago I looked up the guy across the street and his sister. Neither of them remembered me. I spent time hanging out with them.

Oh yes, it is.

We are passing mile marker 59.
-
We are passing mile marker 59.
Keith does know to take I-405 from Southcenter, rather than going thru downtown Seattle?
-
He said it depends on traffic and what Google says is the fattest way at the time.
-
It is telling us to take I-405 😊
-
DR TCB has signed off. I am guessng DR George has picked him up.
-
We are passing road construction and moving slowly. We are almost to the Tacoma Dome if anyone is reading that knows where this is.
-
Continued travel and dinner and show vibes for the HHW Northwest Group.

My car has ABS but I don't think it's Active Brain Syndrome.
-
She's on her way home! She is a winter visitor who is here from October until May.

Oy! I just heard from the sister of Loyce Martin, a dear friend of mine and DR Ginny's, that she has only days to live. That's two this week and it must stop. This is so sad.
-
And the word of the day is: SEMAPHORE!
I remember the Semaphore Theater version of Wuthering Heights on Monty Python.
-
Greetings from Maui.

TOD
The cast albums of Merrily We Roll Along and On the 20th Century were astonishing on vinyl. That sound never made it to CD.
-
Sorry for your news, Elmore. Vibes for all concerned.

TOD

Thanks for the heads up on those. Another that didn’t make it was the 2-LP set of SHE LOVES ME, the CD of which is beyond hideous.
One that did make it, and with a couple of superb extras, is LI’L ABNER. I did a good A/B comparison a couple of years ago that was astounding.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
My condolences to DRs Elmore and Ginny.
Yes, these things seem to be happening all too often.
-
Mega travel and recovery vibes for DR Laura's friend.
-
I'm sure the PNW HHW get-together and show will be stellar.
-
I spent the afternoon at the dentist. Again. Even the office staff is commenting on how often I'm there. I had an old gold onlay that was leaking and needed to be replaced. About two weeks ago I developed a NEW problem, so I figured I'd better at least get the old problem taken care of and let the dentist look at the new problem. He said the new problem may be from the old problem. In any case, the old problem has now been fixed with a new crown and I HOPE that's it for a while. Ugh.
-
On the way home my car let me know that it needs more attention. WHAT??! I've now canceled tomorrow's therapy appointment so I can take my car to the shop. Honestly!
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
Good evening!
-
Looking forward to photos of the HHW gathering!
-
Speaking of gatherings, I will be in NYC this weekend. DR elmore says he's available to have brunch Sunday. Anyone else interested? DR Chas Smith or DR vixmom? I assume FJL will be in the PNW still? I'm waiting to hear from Ben and Anthony.
-
I had a dental appointment today too, DR Jeanne.
-
After the dental appointment I went to Costco, mainly to pick up two new pairs of eyeglasses that were ready. I got the glasses and a couple of other items and went on my way. I got home and discovered I had forgotten the glasses. I raced back to Costco and found them in the shopping cart in the parking lot, right where I had left them. Whew!
-
I guess we're not doing too bad---page 4 at 8:30 pm EDT!
-
DRs Jane and FJL, and especially DRs George and TCB can relax. Of course we still need to get to page 5!
-
Well, it was a nice day,weather-wise. A little warm but not bad. The nineties are on the way, though.
-
Not much on TV, but when in doubt I watch Frasier.
-
I'm sorry to hear about your friend Loyce, DRs elmore and Ginny.
-
Well, we're all at a restaurant at the same mall as the theater. Here's my Caesar salad:
-
Here's Tom's stroganoff:
-
Here's Fred's burger and fries:
-
Here's Jane's black bean burger and sweet potato waffle fries:
-
And finally, Keith's food (I forget what it was):
-
Tom and I shared a Hot Chocolate (chocolate cake a la mode in a coffee cup), but I forgot to take a picture. Sorry about that.
-
It was very good!
-
Here's our group, photo taken by Keith:
-
It's showtime!
-
Fine looking group of misfits.
-
Listening to the final master of the classical title - it is fantastic and what an upgrade from the previous CD release and with one hugely important extra piece.
-
We have left the theater and are stuck in traffic...road construction ahead. :P
-
I really loved the show and think the production was very well done.
-
Tom is driving.
-
...very safely, I must add.
-
We are here:
-
So this was a full production?
-
Yes. Fully staged, costumes, lights, sound, everything.
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!

Leaking! I have not heard of that before.
Vibes this is it for awhile!

Great get-together photo.

Good luck it isn't serious.

We are dropping DR FJL off at the airport tomorrow morning on our way back to Vancouver. We are meeting in the lobby at 7:00 because Keith & I want to stop at our gym before going home.

I got to see the giant green turtles of Maui tonight. I went out to watch the sunset from a different spot tonight. It was a boat launch with a huge rock barrier. I went out on the rocks, looked down and could hardly believe my eyes. There was one turtle, then another. The first was huge, maybe four feet with head and appendages extended.
I was so excited.
-
I was rude today after dinner and took Keith for a walk while the rest of the PNW gathering had dessert and chatted. I really need my walks.

We totally understand, Jane. The three of us had a lovely conversation.

Fine looking group of misfits.
I was laughing at the discussion of which way to tilt our faces for the angle of the camera. I am still not sure if it was chin up or chin down.
-
We have left the theater and are stuck in traffic...road construction ahead. :P
Darn.

I really loved the show and think the production was very well done.
We enjoyed it very much.
-
I am shocked at the traffic.

Thank you for understanding. I hated missing the time together but truly needed it. We also went to the book store that had cards. There was an event going on and we quietly slipped past the people in the standing room only section. Suddenly Keith said "look behind you". I turned around to see a wall of cards behind the presenters. Oh well, chances are they didn't have a Bar Mitzvah card anyway.
-
I am shocked at page five.
-
I am shocked that half this month is over.
-
I am shocked that I want a Ding Dong
-
I am shocked that another actor was playing MY role in The Last Starfighter.
