Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of music, music, music, and now it is time for you to post until the musical cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BINNACLE!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK.
-
Topic of the Day: I don't care for a lot of soups, but Costco had a chicken tortilla soup that was really good, and for a while they also had a tomato bisque that I liked.
-
I will need to think about the Topic of the Day. I love good soups, so I will have to organize my answers.
-
Good night, BK.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Jerry's Deli has great soups, one thing they do really well. My favorites there are their chicken matzo ball soup, creamy tomato bisque, and creamy chicken. Their clam chowder is really good, too. And I always forget they have them so I never order them. And their actually reasonable - their cup is actually huge, their bowl you can't finish. So if, for example, I had soup and my small Caesar I could probably get out of there for about fifteen bucks.
-
I like some of the Campbell's chunky soups. I used to enjoy the cream of asparagus soup, and of course I use the cream of mushroom soup in Wacky Noodles.
-
Time for bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Bed? We don't need no stinking bed.

Wanda Richert, the original Peggy Sawyer in Gower Champion's 42nd Street shared this video on Facebook. She played Cassie in A Chorus Line in the 1980 first national company tour - she was only twenty-one at the time, so a decade too young for it. This is a tech rehearsal in San Francisco. Her acting is lovely, her singing is fine, but I, who have seen dozens and dozens of great Cassies, have never seen this number danced quite like this, and let me tell you that includes you-know-who - there is an energy, a ferociousness at play here that is breathtaking. And I've had so many arguments with people how, only two years later, they began dragging the tempo in the final thirty seconds of the number - horribly so when I saw it in 1982 here - I couldn't believe it - those last five beats were like a funeral dirge and it robbed the number of it's build and powerhouse finish. It was that way in the revival and in every production I've seen since 82. And you know what people have tried to tell me? That I'm just remembering it wrong and from the cast album, where most of the tempos were faster than the show to help fit as much material as they could on the LP. Well, guess what - I wasn't wrong, I was absolutely correct - I knew it then and I know it now - and here is the video to prove it. Listen to that tempo in the last thirty seconds - it doesn't slow up, it SPEEDS up as it should. Anyway, this is a rather amazing performance and I wrote a nice thing on the YouTube page. If you like it write something and be sure to tell her Bruce-O sent you to it. :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=toSkjchQt2o&feature=youtu.be

Good morning, all!
-
I have several errands to run this morning after Annabelle and I make our patrol.
-
Good morning, all.
-
What a great clip. Left my comment.
-
thanks to all for the comments - perhaps we will learn more today...
The Dinning Sisters - their brother Mark had a big hit with "Teen Angel" in the late 50's. And it always bothered me that Teen Angel in GREASE was a guy because the teen angel in the original song was a GIRL!!!!
-
I like Campbell's Chicken Noodle soup....I also like the Progresso Soups....especially the Roasted Chicken and Noodles.
My mom liked the Homestyle Chicken & Noodle from Great Value, I still have several cans in my pantry which I will enjoy as the season turns cool.....
-
T.O.D.
Love chicken noodle.
-
Music Music Music of course always makes me think of Teresa Brewer....if you can say her name quickly three times - you can have another drink......
-
Allergies are bothering me today. I guess it was sitting outside yesterday.
-
TOD
Mom’s cream of wheat ball soup, which is akin to matzoh ball soup
Bouillabaisse
Lobster bisque
Manhattan clam chowder
Portuguese garlic soup
Chinese chicken and vegetable soup
Too many more to think of
-
John McGlinn's father was a vice preside4t for Campbell. Whenever I purchase a can of Campbells chicken or beef broth I think of him.
-
The humidity is the killer today. I've been to bank, pharmacy, market. and post office. I am not stepping out again.
-
Good morning, all.
-
And thanks for the heads up on the humidity.
Just what we needed.

TOD:
For canned soup, I like Progresso, although I've been frustrated that they now only have three flavors that I like that don't have beans. They used to make several others without beans, but then started adding them, I assume because beans are cheap and filling.
I used to make a homemade brown rice and lentils soup, but I haven't made it in several years - I've gotten too lazy.
I agree, Jerry's Deli matzo ball soup is the best! I haven't tried any of their others.
-
Congrats to DR CHAS SMITH on ANNIE success...that show is a crowd pleaser.
DR JOHN G....I might have played it better with a cane....then FDR could have danced with Annie.
-
Stage One at WDS has already been named the Annette Funicello Stage....and now the Sherman Bros. get one....it's about time!
-
Every time I have some soup that I like, I ask myself, "Self, why don't you have soup MUCH more often than you do?"...and I never get a really good answer.
I was fed plenty of (canned) soup as a kid, and I liked it for the most part even though I wouldn't have said then that soup itself was a favorite food. It was probably all Campbell's, the regular ones being tomato, chicken noodle, cream of chicken (my favorite then, for the richer flavor), and I think beef vegetable. Probably a couple of others, but I don't remember. In later years when I was on my own, it was still Campbell's, but I gravitated to the bean, pea, cream of asparagus, and wasn't there a cheddar cheese thing? I also began making some of these with milk instead of water, for the richness. The tomato soup, especially, became an essential accompaniment to grilled cheese sandwiches.
Later still, I "discovered" Progresso soups, and after that, some of the dry mixes from various companies. I liked all of these, but...fast-forwarding to the present, I still like them on occasion but I am now ultra-aware of the incredible amounts of sodium in this kind of prepared food, to the point that after enjoying a bowl of any of these soups, I can taste the "burn" of the sodium in my mouth until, quite literally, I do a good tooth brushing. So, with a twinge of regret, I do take it easy on eating this kind of thing.
I did eventually get to the point of having the occasional soup when eating out, whether at a coffee shop or diner or some better restaurant, and I nearly always really like them. But none of us here ever think of making our own soups at home. And we should. The only exception is Nathan making a wonderful turkey soup with the Thanksgiving leftovers.

Dedication day with former Mouseketeers and some of Annette's family...

Even Felon Mouseketeer Darlene showed up - in the nice red blouse in the second row.....
-
They have certainly picked the top couple of winners to name those two stages after.
-
Monday morning greetings! Richard and I went to Cincinnati last night to hear our friend Rick play the carillon and visited with him for a bit afterwards. I slept 'til 8:15 this morning, which is quite late for me. Gearing up for grocery shopping...
-
Continued vibes for DR TCB's niece...
-
Congrats to DR CHAS SMITH on ANNIE success...that show is a crowd pleaser.
DR JOHN G....I might have played it better with a cane....then FDR could have danced with Annie.
Exactly. The polio Waltz.
-
I don’t really like canned soups much because of all of the carbs added. Sugar, flour or potatoes seem to appear in way too many. I’ll use Better Than Bouillon, which has plenty of options, and use it as a starter to make my own.
-
Loved the Wanda Richert video.
-
I've spent the morning making more literary agent submissions. And now back to Frank Loesser.
-
DNA testing for the accident will take six weeks, so a visitation and memorial will be Wednesday in Indy......so we'll be there.....
-
I've been up since eleven - eight hours of sleep. Answering e-mails and having anxiety about going to this thing tonight. I basically just don't like these kinds of events. I don't mind seeing a concert or something like that, but mingling is not my thing and I often just end up standing around like a putz - and there will be no getting near Richard and Elizabeth - only pushy people will get in and glom onto them and I can't do that. So... a decision to be made.
-
DR George it seems as if you are enjoying the hunt for props.
-

My mother did not make chicken soup, only turkey. It makes the best matzo ball soup.
-
Progresso makes a canned turkey soup I used to keep in the house for when I was sick with a cold. Carrots added to it made it fairly good. If I could still find it then there would be a can or two in the cupboard.
-
For those days when only soup will do I have Puck's chicken with rice, Puck's tomato bisque, and Andersen's vegetarian split pea soup.

Wow and she isn't even out of breath at the end.
-
Wanda was never the best actress. But was it all her fault that the dialogue sounded clunky or cliched? When she got to the part about being back on the line I kinda cringed.
-
DR George it seems as if you are enjoying the hunt for props.
For the most part I am, but I worry about what I'm not finding. ::)

Wow! That was great!

In the "Up next" list (I don't know if it's the same for everyone), there's another video of her performing the same song but IN THAT VIDEO (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qXC5nYaN99k), she's obviously older. According to the comments defending her performance, she had come into this production quickly after someone else had dropped out and it was shortly after she'd had a baby. She still dances it a heck of a lot better than most people I know.
-
Well, just talked to Elizabeth Sherman and they really want me to come, so that's that. However, I'll probably bail on going to the movie.
-
Well, damn. I just got my statement from my HMO Medicare. They still charge me for the payment they lost in March, and so tomorrow I must make a trip to Harlem and personally confront these idiots since my faxes and priority mails of copies of the cancelled check they claim they never received gave done nothing to correct their error.

Hello, everyone.
-
The handyman is here, but I haven't seen the finished product yet. It can't look any worse than it did.
-
I'm kind of camping out on the sofa, as he has commandeered my kitchen.

Ditto! And sorry you have to go through this.
I wonder if anyone has considered doing a study on how patient health declines due to having to fight the bureaucracy so much.

TOD:
Growing up we always ate Campbell's soup. Campbell's was a sponsor of LASSIE. Family loyalty, you know. Campbell's was also the go-to for soups for many people.
-
I love soup and eat it often. My favorite food store offers 4 or 5 made-on-premises soups each day. Really good soups!
Back when I used to cook, I'd make vegan split pea or sometimes lentil.
BTW, Trader Joe's used to sell a very good tomato bisque. Haven't looked for it in a while, though.
-
TTFN.

Campbell's cream of mushroom & creamy tomato, both made with all milk, were favorites that I stopped eating years ago because of the calories.
-
I can't recall the last time we made soup at home. We might have done it once since moving here and every winter I say we should make soup. I order cups of various soups when we dine out. I am partial to creamy anything.
-
I used to bake bread bowls to serve soup in when we entertained. Those were always a big hit.
-
Bk - I'm sure you've read somer of what I said on BWW. The case itself is not a hot-button issue for me.
This is my hot button issue, and has been for decades: that people think of "the right to remain silent" and are applying it to situations like this.
There is a clear answer if a producer wants to get out of a "run of the show" contract: Unless you can prove "just cause," you pay a buyout in the area of $30,000 to $40,000. Total. No questions asked.
The allegation is that somebody got cheap and didn't want to pay that payment. And really gave no thought t the consequences. They never expected suicide, but still couldn't be bothered. They just didn't want to pay the $30,000 or $40,000. (That's the allegation.)
If the allegation were not true, no one would need to be talking to lawyers before saying out loud whether the allegation were true.
It feels like a lot of people are thinking that no negative inference can be drawn from the parties remaining silent, but that's simply not true - society and community and the press have no obligation to refrain from assuming that people who have nothing to hide would explain their position.
If you have nothing to hide, you don't hide anything. If they did nothing at all wrong or questionable, there's no logic that they won't say so. The community and the public and the family have no obligation to refrain from openly and loudly asking why they would wait for an investigation to be over before saying anything. Waiting for any investigation to be over before commenting makes it clear: They intend to massage their version to be consistent with the findings, rather than honestly say what they know.

Trying to decide whether to see a play on 13th Street. I remember the seats there to be tiny, and that was when I was tiny.
-
I shall shortly be on my way to the Disney studios. Definitely not staying for the movie.
-
That sounds like fun, BK. Best wishes for Richard Sherman.
-
On the phone waiting impatiently for the Alexa man to hook up my music. This is taking way too long.
-
"The Alexa man" sounds so modern.
-
Well, I need to leave for the Legally Blonde production meeting.
Be back later.
-
Good evening.
-
"Alexa Man", I like that :)
-
My little book group met tonight to discuss THE GENTLEMAN FROM MOSCOW. Two people were not there because they could not get into the book. I personally love it.
-
Good evening.
Your mother-in-law hasn't lost all of her marbles yet.
-
Watching a Soviet movie from 1994 called Burnt by the Sun. I remember loving every minute of this when I first saw it, and I'm glad there's a reason for that. It's charming. And if I recall correctly, the ending is devastating.
-
Gratuitous post No. 80!
-
Good evening.
Your mother-in-law hasn't lost all of her marbles yet.
;D Or, just an example of how much he is in the news.
-
I think it's a Benedryl night.
-
I whipped up a batch of avocado-tomatillo salsa tonight using some tomatillos and jalapenos from the garden. Should be potent stuff by lunch tomorrow.
-
Listening to little more Demelza, the second of the Poldark books, while I clean a little. Funny stuff.
-
Where is everyone tonight?
-
I know where BK is. But where's everyone else?
-
I hope Vixmom is having a fine time at work.
-
I need to get to bed.
-
Let's move on.
-
Four!
-
Good night, all.
-
I hope Vixmom is having a fine time at work.
I am actually in Florida
-
Just caught up
-
I am so very sorry to hear about the dreadful news of Jacks cousins son
-
And I praying that TCBs niece will have a full recovery
-
Financial vibes for Elmore
-
I like Campells tomato soup, Lipton chicken noodle soup and my own homemade potato soup and my homemade split pea soup
-
But my most favorite is thevixters homemade ( and own re ipe) roasted red pepper soup
-
What movie is BK not watching tonight?
-
I know Disney is naming a soundstage for the Sherman brotherd
-
Well I must get back to vacationing
-
Goodnight
-
I know Disney is naming a soundstage for the Sherman brotherd
That's wonderful!

Did they say whether it will be in the Disney tour?
-
I hope Vixmom is having a fine time at work.
I am actually in Florida
I hoped so.

Continued vacation vibes to vixmom.

Page 4?
-
Really?
-
That was cheating.
-
My niece did not have her surgery today.
-
It has been delayed until Wednesday.
-
They are now going to put in a brain shunt.
-
Which means, they are also going to shave her head for the surgery.
-
She is not very happy about that.
-
One more post.

I can’t believe George’s production meeting is lasting this long.
-
It seems really muggy tonight.
-
It was only 86 today in Tacoma.
-
I can’t believe George’s production meeting is lasting this long.
No...we actually didn't have a production meeting. ::)
-
The skies in Seattle are all hazy, because of all the forest fires in British Columbia and Eastern Washington.
-
I can’t believe George’s production meeting is lasting this long.
No...we actually didn't have a production meeting. ::)
I thought that was where you were this evening.
-
I got there but no one else was there, so I reread through my e-mails and saw that there was no production meeting scheduled. I just assumed that there was one tonight. Dopey me!
-
I can’t believe George’s production meeting is lasting this long.
No...we actually didn't have a production meeting. ::)
I thought that was where you were this evening.
I thought so, too. So, I went to Costco, then Fred Meyer, then to my sister's, then I came home and played some Nintendo.
-
Well, that was probably more fun than a production meeting.
-
And now I need to balance my checkbook and figure out how much I've spent on props, so far. I don't think I'm close to the budget limit, but I need to make sure.
-
I hope you have kept receipts for all these props.
-
I hope you have kept receipts for all these props.
Yes, I have...even when I paid cash. If I want to be reimbursed, I need to have a receipt.
-
They're not quite organized, but I have them all.
-
It was somewhat hazy here as well due to fires.
-
Well have fun balancing your checkbook!
-
It was somewhat hazy here as well due to fires.
Did you say there was a big fire near Ashland?
-
Well have fun balancing your checkbook!
Hopefully, it'll all balance. ;)
-
It was somewhat hazy here as well due to fires.
Did you say there was a big fire near Ashland?
:o
-
It was somewhat hazy here as well due to fires.
Did you say there was a big fire near Ashland?
:o
That question was for Jane.

That question was for Jane.
I know. That was just my reaction to a big fire in general.
-
Forest fire.
-
Forest fires are very scary!
-
They are indeed.
-
I guess BK stayed for the movie.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
Well...
-
...since...
-
...we're so darned close...

IT'S PAGE SIX!!
