Well, you've read the notes, the notes were august and August, and now it is time for you to post until the august August cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: RISORGIMENTO!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
Top 1000 reviewer, baby.
-
Top 1000 reviewer, baby.
Congrats, BK!
-
First Second post after Dino, reviewed by BK.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.
-
And now, I'm off.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Today, a hastily planned train ride into the city to see friend Robin de Jesus in Boys in the Band whose run ends next week. As much as I wanted to see it, fitting it in so frantically was not one of my druthers, nor was the ticket price I had to pay. But since I failed to make it happen at any other point in the last few months, it had to be done.
-
Tomorrow, back to the show that features a little red headed girl.
-
Big surgery vibes for TCB’s niece, and big health and wealth vibes to all of us.
-
DR Elmore, let me know when you’re close to being ready with the library donations, and we’ll make that happen.
-
Good morning, all!
-
It's a very gray day. I fed the cats at 6:45 and went back to bed for an hour.
-
DR ChasSmith, enjoy your matinee day. It will be a couple of weeks before library trip time.
-
Congrats to MR BK on becoming a Top 1000 Reviewer!
-
Surgery vibes for the niece of DR TCB.

I got 25 photos last night - not sure how many "bios"....I need to get about 12 more photos tonight....and then I will be ready to edit and make the slides.
-
Today at 2 p.m. is the visitation for my cousin's son.....it is W A Y O V E R on the east side of Indianapolis....but hopefully I will be home in time to get to the theatre at six for photo taking.
We are not planning on staying very long....my sister and I are going with my cousin and her husband.....
-
Last night's Act One Run Through looked pretty good....it is a very funny play, and all of the actors save one are on the ball....the other one is...well....not an actor....
-
Big surgery vibes for TCB’s niece, and big health and wealth vibes to all of us.
DITTO!

DR TCB the BEST clam chowder soup we ever had was at The Red Lion Inn in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. It is a beautiful historic hotel, not part of the chain.

Absolutely DR JANE....absolutely.

Today when I flipped the calendar in the kitchen to August, my mother had written names on the August birthdates....
Aug 11 - Mike, my brother
Aug 18 - Wayne, her baby brother
Aug 26 - Me
Wasn't expecting to see her handwriting today. On each of our birthdays, she always told us the story of the day we were born and events and feelings of the day.....we won't hear it this year....
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe six hours of sleep.
-
Must deal with some stuff now.

SUPER STRONG VIBES FOR THE MOTHER OF DR RON!
-
Surgery vibes for the niece of DR TCB.
Ditto!
-
Greetings from the Booth!
Later!
-
Wednesday afternoon greetings. Richard and I attended yet another funeral this morning, this time for Gordon, the very special friend of our recently-departed friend Loyce. The service was at our former Methodist church and included a lot of hymn singing.
-
Good afternoon, all.
-
I forgot Robin de Jesus was your friend, ChasSmith. Loved him in Camp.
-
Vibes for DR TCB’s niece for a successful procedure and smooth recovery.

Joshie to the rescue! In a couple of weeks I will begin helping him prepare Encores! I Married An Angel. I am really grateful for the work. All I have to do is hang on till then.
-
I forgot I must step out around 4:30 to meet a friend for dinner after his matinee.

Thanks, DR Jane. I really didn’t get to know him until he started spending time with Loyce, but cherish those few years.

Yesterday my DH fell out of bed and hit his head on the nightstand. He has quite the black eye today.
-
I told him that I would have joked about his complaining about my cooking, but these days that could get me arrested as a suspect of domestic abuse.

Great news! And great music to work on.
Of course, he had a twinkle in his eyes ...

I hope it doesn’t hurt.

It is very impressive, DR John. Very.

One of my First Methodist friends sat with us and said there were more people there today than attend church on Sunday. I told Maryrose we need to meet for a more festive occasion and she said, “Next time Larry’s here!”
-
More vibes for Ron’s Mom.
-
I want the work day to end.
-
Back from a crazy mixed-up morning - very irritating in certain ways, but everything that needed to get done got done, so that's the good part.
-
Then lunch with Kay was fun. Now home until the six o'clock meeting at six o'clock.
-
Three!
-
So, I hadn’t seen or read that play or watched the movie in many years, and I deliberately did not refresh myself on it in any way before seeing this production. And it was fantastic. Rewarding all the way through.
-
And oh yes, congrats to BK on the reviewer status. That’s remarkable.
-
But typing on this train is barely possible, so that’s all you get for now. Cheers!

Can't ask for a better time for a six o'clock meeting.
-
An obituary title to aim for (if one must have an obituary):
Mary Carlisle, Bing Crosby's Co-Star in Delightful Musicals, Dies at 104
-
That's in Hollywood Reporter, but can't make the non-subscriber link work.
-
I do have one question for BK. When is the six o’clock meeting?

Yikes! :o I hope it fades quickly!
-
Hello, everyone.
-
Oh, dear. I see that these eclipses--or whatever--are still playing havoc.
-
Condolences to DR Ginny.
-
Hugs to Jrand.
-
MEGA VIBES to TCB's niece.
-
MEGA VIBES, too, to Ron's mom.
-
Recovery vibes to DR Laura's DH.
You can still make up a funny story about it, can't you?
-
Congrats to Larry!
Hang tough.

I thought she just did ;)

I had a hair appointment today. Richard had told me 11:30, but when I arrived he said I was early. He'd put me down in his book at 12:00 and put someone else in at 11:30. But the someone else is the client who is always, always, always late. AND I was there. She was late, of course, so it worked out.

On Monday the handyman repaired my kitchen ceiling by installing a piece of plywood over the cracked and falling plaster. He did a very good job of it. It looks as good as it could, without actually taking out the ceiling and thus requiring me to vacate. I'm quite happy with it, but it's the building inspector who needs to find it acceptable. We'll know in a few weeks.
-
I have no other news.
TTFN.
-
4our!!
-
Good evening!

Congrats, BK, on your reviewer status!

Continuing vibes for DR TCB's niece.

Read through material, and am now listening to music and in an hour I'll go to my six o'clock meeting at six o'clock.
-
Re the reviewer status - it was really just a lark to see how long it would take and if it could even be done.
-
Listening to a Stanley Black compilation of his incredible Phase 4 Stereo Film Spectacular albums - gathers together a few things from five of the albums onto a two CD set. The sound is beyond belief. I would have reviewed it on Amazon but this two-CD set doesn't seem to exist anywhere.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Home from dinner with our Moonshine and Mistletoe producer to think up some strategy to sell the show. I think Van Dean's label is going to release the CD for the holiday.
We had dinner at Tony's on 43rd Street. We both had the shrimp caesar. It was deelish. On our way back to Beautiful: the Carole King Musical I met Jessie Mueller's sister, who is going back into the show next week. I saw her in it in April 2017; she was excellent.

That's pretty cool about the potential CD release, Larry! Good luck!
-
And now, I need to leave work, do a little more prop shopping, then head to rehearsal because the director would like to use the gavel in the courtroom scenes. Why is the gavel the only prop that she wants now? I don't know.
Be back later.

I read the obit in the Washington Post. Great story.

Great news on the CD, Elmore. Vibes it all goes well.

Trying to finish up the recent Criterion release of Brecht's Baal, done in a modern day with Rainer Werner Fassbinder in the lead role. It's his first film and he's fascinating. But he's almost too uncomfortable to watch at times. And that is part of the point.
-
I'm trying to find good ticket prices on a trip to Germany in December to see the family. I can't go by price alone. Turkish Airlines has the best price, but they want to take me to Germany by way of Istanbul, which is about 42 hours each way. No thanks.
-
Back from a fun meeting about what could be a fun project. It's always funny to me when I don't know someone and they don't know what it is I do and how I work, but when I explained what I thought about how the project should be presented and its pitfalls, you always get a little defensiveness at the beginning because people are naturally wary - but by the end the fellow was agreeing with every single thing I'd said earlier. We'll see where this goes.
-
To go with your recent Josef Von Sternberg film fest (which hasn't arrived in the library yet), I'm watching the beginning of his version of An American Tragedy. A very young Sylvia Sydney is the poor girl who gets on the wrong side of the social climber. Frances Dee is in the role of the rich girl.
I love the story and the remake, A Place in the Sun, but this is the one book that I never finished when we had to read it high school. When I have time for 900 pages, I may go back and finish it.
-
But I need some sleep. Good night, all.

It sounds like a great trip. Good luck finding a reasonable price.

What is this page four malarky?
-
Listening to the oh so outre Reprise Musical Repertory Theatre version of South Pacific. These are so weird but fun.
-
What I've never noticed before is that the band was clearly recorded first, then the singers came in to do their tracks, but the mix is so inept that they vocals SOUND like they're divorced from the band, exactly what you never want to do.
-
Good evening.
-
As of this evening, my niece is not doing well.
-
She is in a great deal of pain.
-
And she is feeling very sick to her stomach.
-
Page 5
-
The temperature was much cooler today.
-
I didn’t get to enjoy it, because I have been very sick the last two days.
-
I have no idea what is wrong with me, other than old age.
-
The other day I watched an episode of the $100,000 PYRAMID. Obviously it was filmed in front of a New York audience.
-
When asked what they would if they won $50,000.00, the contestant said they would like to try and get an apartment.
-
The audience didn’t seem to react at all.
-
Speaking of the new game shows, why in the Hell does host, Anthony Anderson, have his ”Mamma” on TO TELL THE TRUTH?
-
I never really cared for the original TO TELL THE TRUTH, and I like the new version even less.
-
Last year, for the first time in 60+ years, none of the Seattle TV stations broadcast the Seafair Hydroplane Race.
-
They must have gotten a lot of backlash, because one of the local stations is telecasting a three-hour live version this Sunday.
-
Back in the Fifties and the Sixties, all three of the big local station used to broadcast the race day from first thing in the morning until the final race was finished.
-
It was the biggest sporting event in the Northwest.
-
Thank you all for the good wishes and vibes for my niece.
-
Continued vibes for Ron’s mom.
-
It is really pointless to post by myself.
-
Congratulations to Elmore for the new work.
-
Good night.
