Well, you've read the notes, the notes were trivial, and now it is time for you to post until the trivial cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: HERCULEAN!
-
Well, the Trivia Question is going to take some research.
-
But first...sleep. 8)
Good night and have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
I have a trip to the post office this morning, and then I will settle in for a long work weekend.
-
DR TCB how is your niece doing?
-
Are you feeling better today?
-
Friday!
Oh no...the Trivia Question.....if I can only find ONE of them....then I'll get a heads up....
-
Nice video in the notes.
Beauty and the Beast was most excellent last night, if I do say so myself. The sold out audience was charmed and loved every minute.
The box office was for the most part easy to deal with....I will work one more evening....Wednesday....and then On To BITP!
-
No idea about the TQ after a bit of investigation.....
-
I decided to return "Snow Crash" to the library and wait for the movie.
-
Craig recommended I read "The Art of Fielding" by Chad Harbach. I will begin it instead. He rarely reccomends something so I hope I like it.
-
I already had the book in my library queue and it was available.
-
It is a long book I hope to finish by the time we arrive in Reykjavik.
-
I watched the NT LIVE production of the London FOLLIES last night. I liked it very much.....perhaps I shall finish it today.
I have never seen the show, although I have heard the recordings. It is a great show....and this is a very good production. I liked the sets and costumes and the music is very well done.
Stand outs for me were Di Botcher as Hattie and Tracie Bennett as Carlotta.... The men were okay.
The two ladies Janie Dee (Phyllis) and especially Imelda Staunton (Sally) are not so hot. I don't get the love the adulation for Staunton....I thought she was awful.....here and in GYPSY as well. First of all, she's unattractive....and she is too short to have ever been a showgirl....she clacks her dentures and pops and rolls her eyes like she's in a silent movie...for me she's unwatchable and ruins every scene and song she's in....she is awful...
Dee is a bit better, but I don't think she understands her character very well...
British Actress Geraldine Fitzgerald isn't very good as the French actress either....her song pretty much flops....
ANYWAY....I look forward to seeing the rest of the show - in spite of having to sit through the above mentioned "performances."
-
The End.
-
By the Time We Get to Reykjavik...isn't that a Glen Campbell song?
-
Good morning.
-
There was over a half-inch of rain in my rain gauge this morning. The ground is nice and soft, so I did some digging of grass roots.
-
Today is the Feast of St. Lawrence. If you recall, last year we celebrated with hash browns and bad jokes with DR Kerry's partner. It is our own holiday.
-
Made-up holidays are the best.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Yes they are DR LAURA.
-
Hash browns! I don’t remember from before, but I’m “assuming” they were homemade?
And I completely agree re made-up holidays.
-
Friday morning greetings! Just a quick HI before I have to leave for Sharonville for my 3rd day of papercrafting classes, which have, so far, been fabulous. Tomorrow is the
trade shopping show and Rebecca is going with me.
-
I think DRs Elmore and TCB should move to Ohio and share a duplex.
-
Congrats to DR John G and his co-workers!
-
That’s an excellent trivia question. Lots of clues, each of which sounds like it should be a no-brainer — and everyone’s stuck. Bravo!
-
It has become clear on my drives to and from the northern Cincinnati 'burbs that the muffler might be loose on my car. We're going to try to take it to the shop before I have to leave for my 1:30 class. I'm wondering if this is the beginning of the end for the Vibe - I've only had it 13 years...
-
Bye for now!

No way, DR Ginny. Not unless there’s a ton of other stuff going wrong. Fixing or replacing a muffler, or even an entire exhaust system, is de rigueur in the scheme of things.
-
Thus sayeth the man driving a 16-year-old Jetta.
-
DR Jrand67, is there any, um, educational (for archival purposes only) evidence pertaining to your ANNIE?
Note: Curious minds want to know, that’s all. Nothing to see here, folks, move along now.
(No promises, but it seems there may be something in the works on this end...)
-
QUIZ:
I have no idea what show or actors you are talking about, but I'm wondering if the actress who later became famous on TV was either Bonnie Franklin or Florence Henderson.
-
T.O.D.
HBO is scheduled to show the remake of MURDER ON THE ORIENT EXPRESS this weekend, so if we're not with my visiting son, we will watch that.
We'll watch it anyway,because we're recording it.
-
Good morning.
-
Hmmm, that trivia question is a toughie.
-
So far, I have figured out that the two stars must be Pert Kelton and Sammy Davis Jr.; and the flop producer must be David Merrick. But.... I am still digging.
-
LOL DR TCB.
-
I do not believe there is any evidence DR CHAS SMITH....but we shall see.
-
By the Time We Get to Reykjavik...isn't that a Glen Campbell song?
;D

How will you celebrate today?

Made-up holidays are the best.
You certainly make it seem so :)

I am glad you are having a fabulous time.

Not bad. Hopefully it is only the muffler.
-

Good for you.

I may have told this before about Pert Kelton, Shirley Jones and Ronny Howard, but I dont recall:
Since Marian turns pro-Harold because of the effect on Winthrop: there was a short time (it was around 2nd grade) when I was sure we’d find out Winthrop was actually Marian’s son, and Winthrop's father must have been the guy who left the library books to Marian.; I was sure Mrs. Paroo couldn’t have had Winthrop in her late 40s.
In my age-7 revisal, Marian at the end of act 1 was seeing Harold as Winthrop’s father, which made me much more dramatically happy than Harold just being Winthrop’s brother-in-law (as in the real show).
This may have been colored by me already having loved the Shirley Jones - Ronny Howard interplay in the movie "Courtship of Eddie's Father" (all well before the Bill Bixby-Miyoshi Umeki TV series)
-
What an imagination you had at such a young age ;D

There is also a video of a French production done in mostly English (a little bit of dialog is in French...I don't know why), but Solange is played by a man in drag. Talk about unattractive. :-\

Only?? Not to brag, but I've had my Ford Escort for 20 years. June 14th was the 20th anniversary of its Gotcha Day! ;D

I always wondered about that, too!

Truly something to be proud of.

DR Ron's dear Mother is transferring to a hospital with a rehab unit to regain strength/mobility.
Vibes it will not be long before she may return home.

~~~SUPER DITTO!!~~~
What an imagination you had at such a young age ;D
I just couldn't make sense of Mrs. Paroo, who is the mom of both Marian and Winthrop, having given birth to Winthrop in her late 40s. The rest came from there. And with three people working on the story, but the director also apparently dramaturging, no one thought maybe pair Mrs. Paroo off with someone so Winthrop could have a dad!!! :) )
-
I first saw The Music Man movie on TV and came in in the middle of it and just assumed Marian was a widow and that Winthrop was her son.....
-
DR GEORGE I do not think I will search on YouTube for that FOLLIES.
-
So, FJL has not guessed yet. Amazing.
-
More amazing is that I'm up. I'm up.
-
Page three? Really?
-
I was up before ten after six hours of sleep. But I was too zonked and got back in bed at noon thinking I'd get another hour of sleep. I did, but it was two and a half hours, but I really needed it.
-
So, FJL has not guessed yet. Amazing.
Believe me, I've been searching.
I was sure Joe Mantello figured in there, but that was a dead end.
-
DR GEORGE I do not think I will search on YouTube for that FOLLIES.
I actually bought the DVD from Amazon.fr (https://www.amazon.fr/gp/product/B00S8KTOFG/), and there are elements to enjoy (there really are some good singers...Graham Bickley and Liz Robertson are the two names that I recognize), but the Sonange was just too weird.
-
It's also now available on Amazon.co.uk (https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00S8KTOFG/).
Well, DR George, you've got me beat. I've had my 2001 Camry for a little less than 18 years.
-
It is a long book I hope to finish by the time we arrive in Reykjavik.
Can't wait to hear about Iceland, DR Jane!
-
Has anyone answered the trivia question right yet?
-
Company's here from Florida. I'll try again later.
My sister has me beat. Before she got rid of it last year, she had her Subaru Impreza for 23 years!
I've been looking, but so far nothing.
That is still pretty darn good.
Keith, as usual, will be posting photos and descriptions on my facebook page. I hope someone will share them here because I can't do that while traveling.
-
From Iceland we flying to Greenland and then taking an Arctic cruise.
-
Chalk one up for Siri. Usually Siri doesn’t work ad well as goigle. This time I got write Ben & Laura, which is correct, while Keith’s phone said right Ben & Laurie.
-
We are about to watch "The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society" which was released on Netflix streaming today.
-
I loved the book and am looking forward to seeing it. The previews look good.
-
If only Beaches had not chosen tonight to give me samples of Bullet Barrel and Bullet 10 year, on top of my Woodford Reserve. I usually only have one drink. I also had not eaten all that much today as I want to keep my weight down before traveling.
-
I will be upset with myself if I fall asleep.
-
On the upside, I now know that I don't care for Bullet barrel but the 10 year is good.
-
By the Time We Get to Reykjavik...isn't that a Glen Campbell song?
By the Time i Get to Reykjavik, she’ll be fishing...
-
Good evening.
-
We had a very nice holiday today. Hash Browns eaten and many bad jokes shared.
After our feast, Kerry's partner invited us to his house to see Sugar. Sugar remembered us. She is a very old gal now. Very old. Kerry would have said she is still a puppy.
-
Hugs for DR Laura.
-
Had too much food today.
-
And it was good.
-
No one has answered any of the question. Answer can be posted here, of course.
-
Back from a really fun dinner at Barone's with the entire Geissman clan. I had a salad and scampi, so not too bad, calorie-wise.
-
Good evening.
-
Wild night over the skies of the Pacific Northwest.
-
An airport employee at Sea-Tac Airport stole an Alaska Airlines commuter plane from the airport.
-
He flew the plane over our heads for over an hour before crashing the plane into a small island in Puget Sound.
-
Apparently not a terrorist, but a suicidal airline mechanic.
-
A large wooded section of the island is currently on fire.
-
Only about twenty people live on the island, so they don’t have a fire department.
-
So, firemen and equipment had to travel to the island by ferry boat.
-
The U.S. Air Force scrambled two fighter jets from Portland, Oregon to try and keep the plane from going down in a populated area - like my house!
-
The fighter jets flew so fast from Portland to Tacoma, that they caused a sonic boom over the area.
-
The video they have of the plane flying around is terrifying.
-
My goodness, TCB! That's crazy!
-
Thankfully, all the booming over my house is just another storm. Three nights in a row. But your story is terrifying.
-
The plane did several barrel rolls and flew upside down for a time.
-
My goodness, TCB! That's crazy!
It really was crazy.
-
They actually closed the airport for a time, and now all of the flight arrivals are backed up by two or three hours.
-
They just showed the cell phone parking lot and it is overflowing.
-
Well, these last three hours have been the most exciting of the entire day.
-
Indeed!
-
Well, all I can say is.....
APPLESAUCE!
-
Page 4?
-
The storm has moved on, so it is quieter here now. The emergency alarm went off three times tonight: one amber alert, one storm approaching, and one flood warning.
-
Really?
-
Good night.
-
It was ten degrees cooler today.
-
And another ten cooler tomorrow.
-
Good night, Laura.
-
Did your alarm go off, too, TCB? "Stolen plane circling overhead"?
-
Did your alarm go off, too, TCB? "Stolen plane circling overhead"?
No, darn it.
This WiFi is getting slower and slower.
-
I am running out of time.
-
UNDERPANTS!
-
Where did everyone go?
-
I am out of ideas.
-
I need to hire a writer to give me better material.
-
We are at the stroke of twelve.
-
I am dancing as fast as I can.
I’m sorry, but I can’t do this alone.
-
F— it! Good night.
Sorry about that, Tom. :-\
