I don't know what competition (if any) there is for A Christmas Story, but it won't bother me if I'm just in the ensemble.  That can be a lot of fun. :)

We had one lovely Egret sitting by the pond and another Egret was flying up above.  Our Blue Heron chased away the Egret and now both Egrets are gone.  My timing was perfect to watch it all.

They are installing the carpet I was kind of forced into agreeing to.  I do not like it.

Looking at it on the floor I think it will look nice once the furniture is back in the room.  I will likely still have an issue looking at it down the hallway.

Weill is a favorite. Just about anything from Love Life is wonderful, especially:

Mr. Right
Economics
Progress
Susan’s Dream
Here I’ll Stay

The scores for Lady in the Dark, Lost in the Stars, Street Scene, One Touch of Venus, Threepenny Opera and Mahogany (sp?) are all wonderful.

Looking over Kurt Weill’s oeuvre (but not his hor d’oeuvres), I am shocked, shocked, at what a small percentage of his work I know.

Are there any duds among it? I’m easy. I dearly love Threepenny, Mahagonny, Street Scene to the extent I’m familiar with it, and most every song I’ve heard in various settings.

The scores to Happy End, Lost in the Stars, and Seven Deadly SinsLady in the Dark is amazing, a play with three operatic dream sequences.  I may actually prefer the Salvation Army comedy  Happy End to Threepenny Opera.

Back from this evening's rehearsal, which was Kay's two numbers.  That was a good thing because I am trashed.  Terrible throat, heavy chest, and congestion.  I'll NyQuil tonight and basically I'll stay in bed tomorrow and only go out to get some chicken soup.  Then hopefully I'll be okay enough to at least rehearse.  I actually left twenty minutes before they finished, stopped at Jerry's Deli and got a bowl of matzoh ball soup and a bagel to take home.  The soup was absolutely the perfect thing for me.
