Well, you've read the notes, the notes did a no-stumble stumble-through, and now it is time for you to post until the no-stumble cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: CAROM!
-
Hello
-
We are waiting to board. It looks like we will be bused to the plane, oh joy.
-
It isn’t raining so it won’t be too bad.
-
Of course most important is that we have a smooth safe flight 😊
-
First post after Jane!
-
After the family dinner last night, I went to Best Buy and bought a 100-pack of blank DVD-Rs for only $34.99+tax. Then I went to Office Depot and saw the exact same thing for only $26.99+tax! What?? I went ahead and bought the Office Depot DVD-Rs and instantly took back the DVD-Rs that I bought from Best Buy! It was very convenient that the two store were just a few doors away from each other in the same complex. ;)
-
Of course most important is that we have a smooth safe flight 😊
~~~Continued Safe Travel Vibes for Jane and Keith!!~~~
-
Well, I'm having a hard time keeping my eyes open, so I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Of course most important is that we have a smooth safe flight 😊
~~~Continued Safe Travel Vibes for Jane and Keith!!~~~
Thanks. The landing was a bit hard but otherwise ok. I am only mildly air sick. I did snag a front seat on the bus so that should help. We are about to head to our hotel on Siem Reap.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I was up at 6:30 on a Sunday because I’m playing a friend’s church service today.
-
I wonder if vixmom is getting any snow from the top edge of that storm.
We are blessed with being just north of it all this time. A wonderful thing.
-
Here’s to a great Kritzerland show tonight!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Spellcheck prompter thinks morning should be Hurricane or Winter storm. Go figure.
-
Vibes for BK.
And show vibes for the whole company.
-
Travel vibes for Jane and Keith.
-
Of course it snowed a bit more on my cleared driveway and sidewalk, but not so much as to be problematic.
-
Show vibes for MR BK & Co.
-
You all left out Marvin Gaye as one of Marlon Brando's boyfriends....Pryor and Gaye were both mentioned by Mr Quincy Jones when he was shilling his book last year.....
-
Why is the door to the message board closed? I am very busy and don't have to time to post or read with everyone else....I will be looking at frames - come and get me when the board can be read without interruption by ME MYSELF AND I.....
-
Good morning!
-
We have snow.
-
Good morning, all!
-
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good Show Tonight Vibes for BK & Co. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
-
I hope to move this cold out of my system today, so I have no plans to leave the apartment.
-
DR Laura, what are you doing to provoke those people?
-
DR Laura, how's Leonard? You can never post enough photos of him.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
DR vixmom, you have the strangest experiences! You should have left vixdad in the lurch to keep us au courant on the entitled lady.
-
DR Laura, my friend Rich is playing drums for that Hello, Dolly! tour. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
-
DR GEORGE I get my DVD-R discs on EBAY.....100 for about $18 including shipping. I buy the white ones that can be printed or written on....
-
I am making beef and noodles today.
-
Annabelle seems to be getting over her cold faster than I am. This morning she knocked every bottle off the edge of the bathtub, and she's climbing everywhere.
-
DR LAURA has become the neighborhood heroine.....
-
Cats.......
-
I think I'll spend most of my day working on my 2018 taxes.
-
Here's some bad news from Indiana!
-
Good morning.
-
Blissfully quiet this morning.
-
DR Elmore, I loved the show. I had only seen it done in a very tiny community theater.
I am really not liking the new musicals very much. I realize, though, that it is the future of Broadway. But I like the kind of musicals with singing, not rapping or shouting.
-
You all left out Marvin Gaye as one of Marlon Brando's boyfriends....Pryor and Gaye were both mentioned by Mr Quincy Jones when he was shilling his book last year.....
This was the sketch from the "Streetcar" V-A-M-P section on the Sonny and Cher Show in the early 1970s - is the streetcar driver kissing Stanley goodnight an allusion of some sort to Brando in real life?
Burt Reynolds as Stanley, Cher as Blanche, and Sonny as a streetcar driver who keeps trying to keep Cher and Burt apart.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7fwIrT3OVwM
-
There was some high-minded stuff being spoofed at times on the "Sonny and Cher Show" - Somerset Maugham's character Miss Sadie Thompson was pretty much a regular vamp - maybe Cher really enjoyed playing her, or maybe they loved "Rain" that much?
-
This was next in that Cher playlist on YouTube.
Sonny and Cher were divorced and still good friends, interviewed here by George Segal,
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_n9hnWcOYVA
and it looks like Goldie Hawn joins them (at 3:45), stepping through the curtain at just the right moment when the conversation was feeling like it got on an uncomfortable topic.
-
Were George Segal and Goldie Hawn a couple then, or just movie co-stars?
It's hard to believe that Cher wasn't 30 yet in that interview.
-
DR Laura, my friend Rich is playing drums for that Hello, Dolly! tour. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Rich from Encores!??
(Is that Rich? Am I suffering a li’l brain fart?)
-
I’d love seeing Betty Buckley in that.
-
DR Laura, my friend Rich is playing drums for that Hello, Dolly! tour. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Rich from Encores!??
(Is that Rich? Am I suffering a li’l brain fart?)
Yes.
-
DR Laura, my friend Rich is playing drums for that Hello, Dolly! tour. I'm glad you enjoyed it.
Rich from Encores!??
(Is that Rich? Am I suffering a li’l brain fart?)
Yes.
He is so great. (Well, duh.)
-
Good afternoon.
-
It is amazing the amount of time I can waste on the internet.
-
I was just reading a fascinating article on the Great Boston Molasses Flood of 1919.
-
2.3 million gallons of molasses. 21 dead. I had never heard of it before.
-
Why is the door to the message board closed? I am very busy and don't have to time to post or read with everyone else....I will be looking at frames - come and get me when the board can be read without interruption by ME MYSELF AND I.....
What does this mean? Is it about something else?
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine hours of sleep. I got up at eleven, as planned, but it was sixty-four degrees in the house, so I turned on the heat and got back in bed for ten minutes until it warmed up - next thing I knew it was noon.
-
After that, I read up on the Great Halifax Explosion that killed 11,000 people in 1917.
-
Again, I had never heard of this disaster. A ship (the Mont-Blanc) carrying three thousand tons of TNT and other explosives exploded as it approached the harbor at Halifax. The ship was vaporized in one fifteenth of a second, and the city was leveled.
-
Now aren't those interesting items?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Break A Leg Vibes to BK and Company!!~~~~~~~~~~~
-
MR BK I was referencing DR VIXMOM's trip to the eye doctor yesterday and the insufferable woman she encountered who was put in her place by the receptionist.
-
DR ELMORE I don't think that woman will get very far with her new "rescue" operation.
-
DR TCB I read about both of those events just during some internet browsing.....both horrible and fascinating at the same time....
-
And there is this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Eastland
-
There are a couple of books about the Eastland....I think the best is CAPSIZED by Patricia Sutton
-
I am making beef and noodles today.
What ingredients do you use to make your beef?
-
Travel vibes to Jane and Keith!
-
DR FJL - maybe it was a comment on Burt Reynolds.
-
And there is this:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SS_Eastland
I am familiar with the Eastland disaster.
-
DR ELMORE I don't think that woman will get very far with her new "rescue" operation.
That's two of us!
-
most excellent vibes and xylophones to BK for the HUGE gamble to pay off.
-
I wonder if vixmom is getting any snow from the top edge of that storm.
We are blessed with being just north of it all this time. A wonderful thing.
Not a single flake, to my great joy

:D. I just had to explain to Vixdad why I was laughing
-
DR Laura, what are you doing to provoke those people?
Oh Elmore, you know she is a troublemaker
-
LOL...DR VIXMOM.
DR TCB there used to be a History Photo in the newspaper everyday when I was a whippersnapper....and one day there was a photo of a man standing on the deck of the Eastland - it was listing so badly that he could barely stand, but people were acting like nothing was wrong.....the picture had been taken by someone who got off the ship before it went over....as a holiday photo....
Of course that picture is not on the internet.
I remembered it and when I got a computer it's one of the first things I read about....
-
Miracle vibes for MR BK for his GAMBLE.....we will know tomorrow.
-
Additional show vibes for MR BK and his YOUNG Co.
-
I M Back.

Kevin is anybody going to clear snow from the roads in Washington ?

How is your new job?

Break a leg vibes for BK and Co
-
This morning I overslept and didn't wake up until nearly 8' I am usually the first one at the church arriving before 8
-
By time I arrived at 8:40 some of the ladies had already gotten coffeehour set up

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Good Show Tonight Vibes for BK & Co. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~~~SUPER DITTO!!~~~
-
PAGE FOUR DANCE!!
-
I dressed to act as communion assistant and enjoyed the service and sermon
-
After the service I set up for the next service and then headed out to Bar Louie for apainting event
-
Did a large amount of futzing and finessing, then wrote two new pages. I shall shortly be on my way to Vitello's for sound check and then show.
-
DR GEORGE I get my DVD-R discs on EBAY.....100 for about $18 including shipping. I buy the white ones that can be printed or written on....
Wow! That's a great price!
-
It was a lot of fun. My friend and I stayed and had a leisurely lunch afterwards
-
It was a bit more leisurely than we expected since our waitress kept disappearing
-
But we enjoyed ourselves nonetheless
-
Then I popped up to church to collect all the used linens , change the paraments from white to green and put the flowers in the fridge
-
Then I did some quick shopping and came home
-
Vixdad is watching the Ray Donavon marathon so no Dexter for me
-
After that, I read up on the Great Halifax Explosion that killed 11,000 people in 1917.
Again, I had never heard of this disaster. A ship (the Mont-Blanc) carrying three thousand tons of TNT and other explosives exploded as it approached the harbor at Halifax. The ship was vaporized in one fifteenth of a second, and the city was leveled.
:o Oh, my goodness! That's horrible!
-
Well, I have been lounging in my bed all day (after feeding my cat and myself), but I need to do some laundry and some general cleaning, so I'm off again for now.
-
DR Laura, what are you doing to provoke those people?
Buying socks, hats, underwear, and a sleeping bag, paying an urgent bill, giving cash for medications. Driving all over the place to do errands. That kind of provocation.
-
Kevin is anybody going to clear snow from the roads in Washington ?
I guess so. I don't drive into DC unless I really have to! I usually take Metro when I go. I think I've only been in DC twice since I retired, both times to see a show.
-
Sunday evening greetings! Day 2 of being snowbound here. Rob and Mary Linda tried to go to church, but couldn’t even get the car away from the curb. Richard and Rob both shoveled today, so we all should be able to get out tomorrow. Richard and I both have appointments with our eye doctor, but not until later in the day.
-
Being housebound allowed me to get all the holiday decor packed away and ready to store in the basement.
-
I did get some work in on my taxes. I think the cats and I will settle in to watch The Real Housewives of Atlanta.
-
DR Laura, what are you doing to provoke those people?
Buying socks, hats, underwear, and a sleeping bag, paying an urgent bill, giving cash for medications. Driving all over the place to do errands. That kind of provocation.
You monster!
-
I agree. How are you allowed to walk around free!
-
Well, long day and I'm finally home.
-
I find it odd that amazon delivers on Sunday.
-
I came home to find two CDs that were Christmas presents, In Transit and Bend It Like Beckham. I wonder if I'll get the time this week to listen to them.
-
Watching the rest of Kind Lady. It's like every conservative's worst nightmare, and it's still very effective.
-
The second flick for tonight is What Price Hollywood, the first of the A Star Is Born stories.
-
That's all I can pack into today.
-
Good night, all.
-
I find it odd that amazon delivers on Sunday.
I have everything delivered to my work, so I never get weekend deliveries. It's an inconvenience, but it's a lot safer than having packages left on my porch to get stolen.
-
Today, I really didn't watch as many recorded TV shows as I had planned.
-
I was dilly-dallying on my tablet and doing some laundry.
-
PAGE FIVE DANCE!!
-
Right now, I'm watch TCM's SILENT SUNDAY selection, The Extra Girl, with Mabel Normand, from 1923.
-
I have a load of laundry in the dryer, and another load in the washer.
-
One dryer load done.
-
Now, the load in the washer gets to get dried.
-
Back from a great Kritzerland show, about which more in the notes - and then a little food after. I am really far behind in today's writing so I'm gonna do the notes and then spend two hours during which I hope to do at least eight pages so that I can catch up tomorrow.
-
Good evening, children!
-
Did I miss a report from Kevin on the production of MISS SAIGON that he saw yesterday? Or did the snow keep him from attending?
-
George, when you found the cheaper price at Office Depot, why didn’t you just take a photo showing the lower price and take it back to Best Buy and ask for the difference back plus 10%?
-
George, when you found the cheaper price at Office Depot, why didn’t you just take a photo showing the lower price and take it back to Best Buy and ask for the difference back plus 10%?
Is that a Best Buy policy? I didn't know that, or think of that. :-\
-
I bought a rather expensive watch from JC Penney, but when it arrived yesterday, it didn’t have a battery. I assume that is the only problem, since it isn’t running. I thought that was kind of cheap.
-
I guess it is Best Buy's policy (https://www.bestbuy.com/site/customer-service/price-match-guarantee/pcmcat290300050002.c?id=pcmcat290300050002). Live & learn.
-
Maybe I shouldn’t expect a battery, since I got the watch for $900.00 off the retail price.

Wow! Congrats on that!

Well, you know they are trying to keep from going out of business. This was one of their crazy sales that was 50% off of their previous 80% off price, or something like that. I just bought it because I loved the look of it. I am a watch-freak.
-
Actually, I had never herd of the brand of watches. JBW? What do I know? I still want a Rollex spelled with two “L’s”
-
I see that Groupon is, also, selling the watch for $900.00 off, so I guess I didn’t get that good of a price.
-
Which reminds me, I need to take the receipt with me on the cruise, so they don’t try to nail me at Customs.
-

About five years ago, I got a pocket watch that was normally $300, then it was on sale for $180, then there was a Lightning Deal for another $80 off, so with tax ut was only $108.69. :)

I like it. I have several other pocket watches. None are vintage or antiques, though.
-
I have two gold pocket watches that belonged to my grandfather. Unfortunately, my mother kept it in one of those hanging glass displays, but she didn’t know that you had to keep the watch wound.

My aunt had the second pocket watch, but that was never kept wound, either.
