Well, you've read the notes, the notes spoke of the Robby Awards, and now it is time for you to post until the losing cows come home.

Welcome home, vixmom!  No burst pipes?

Going to the dentist today to take the final impression for my new lower teeth to join the uppers.

"Are those all your own teeth?"  Sure they are.  I paid good money for them.

I fed the cats and went back to bed for an hour.  The pains in my left leg make sleeping difficult.  I've been waiting for Annabelle to complain about my restlessness, but she and Thatch seem happy to put up with it.

While I slept Keith pulled the car up the driveway at 5:00am to be sure he could. I am now safely at the short stay section of the hospital, all checked in and waiting for a nurse. I hope my doctor arrives on time and is ready tp begin at 8:30. At least I am her first patient of the day. I see her name on the board.

Call Me Madam is going to be good, but I wish I liked the show more.  I remain apathetic about the score as well; it's no Annie Get Your Gun!

I do like most of Merman's numbers, as well as "It's A Lovely Day Today" and "You're Just in love," but I really dislike the two ballads and I detest "The Ocarina."  The young man playing Kenneth, the secretary, is totally endearing.  His ballad "Once Upon A Time Today" is really lovely, and it's a song that never registered with me before.  I saw the Encores! production 25 years ago with Tyne Daly, and the Goodspeed production around 2000, and I sat through today's rehearsal, thinking I remember nothing about this show!

And here you have it.  Of course, they don't say what the cause was, which is disgusting.

SHERMAN OAKS, CA — A power outage affected thousands of people in the San Fernando Valley Tuesday afternoon, and authorities don't expect the power to be returned until after 9 p.m.

The power outage is affecting Los Angeles Department of Water and Power customers in the areas of Sherman Oaks, Valley Village, Van Nuys and Valley Glen. Utility officials did not say what cause the outages, and it wasn't immediately clear exactly how many customers were affected.

I wonder if young kids will get it, though.

The story is kind of detailed, and (to me, at least) sort of convoluted. :-\

But I'm sure that the experience will be fun.

Well, I must be off.  Tonight is the first of two rehearsals to prepare for a reading of a new musical by one of the writers of Cinder Edna that I was in last year.  We'll see how it goes.

Be back later.

The read-through for The Alpha Bet Caper went well.

I imagine this is a comedy.  Is it a mystery or a heist, or what?

And if that isn’t enough, there is the chance for more snow next Monday night.

That is what we get for having an early Spring in January.

The play tonight was a staged thing on another play's set - kind of a trial run for a play the theater won't do.  English play called Otherwise Engaged - I wish I'd been otherwise engaged, frankly.

Well, it's kind of convoluted, but basically the main character of Halonah is in the fourth grade.  She loves letters and imagines that they are a music group called The Alphabetastics (I play the letter P).  I don't remember exactly what happens or how, but the letter H disappears, and all the words that have the H sound are affected so that the other letters (the characters) can't say the H sound, so "that" becomes "dat," "hokey pokey" becomes "okey pokey," etc.  Anyway, the mystery of where's H has to be solved.  Also, Halonah's mother is pregnant and Halonah is eventually going to have a baby sister.  That figures into the mystery.

Here's the description of Halonah from the script:

Elementary-aged, inquisitive, imaginative and smart, with a vocabulary beyond her years, prone to anxiety and a strong need for order. The Alphabetastics are a performing group that lives in Halonah’s imagination. Letters and their shapes, music, sounds, and words are her bliss, and a source of comfort in her highly desired, well ordered world, and comfort when she becomes anxious.

Fortunately, I turned up the thermostat on my bottom floor.  Then the heat rises up to my third floor, where I am and have my plug-in fireplace "burning." :)

Do you have a big cozy chair, an afghan, and a good book in front of the fireplace?
