Well, you've read the notes, the notes were obsessed, and now it is time for you to post until the obsessed cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: AILUROPHILE!
-
That word, of course, describes dear reader elmore to a T.
-
That's a pretty cool play obsession story, BK.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Annabelle's nose is fine this morning, and she ate breakfast, both good bits of news from 82nd Street.
-
Another bit of good news: I got an inquiry about doing an orchestration for my London conductor friend.
-
What great news about the play, BK!
-
Good morning, all.
-
Great play story, BK. Looking forward to learning more when the time is right.
-
When I was directing the Middletown Lyric Theatre in the 1970s, there were several plays I wanted to do:
Giraudoux's The Enchanted for DR Ginny to play Isabel
The Cat and the Canary
Invitation To A March
Loot
What the Butler Saw
-
This is another City Center day. I'll leave around 9:30. If I can, I may run down after that to my accountant and sign my tax forms.
-
DR TCB, Annabelle, Thatch, and I send Nicky our regards and best wishes for comfort in his senior years
-
Good morning!
-
Another bit of good news: I got an inquiry about doing an orchestration for my London conductor friend.
That's great, DR elmore!
-
BK - Maybe you should start keeping notes about the road to getting this play on. It sounds like your story about the road to getting this play on could be a great work as well.
(or maybe the BK notes will be those notes.)
-
Annabelle's nose is fine this morning, and she ate breakfast, both good bits of news from 82nd Street.
Very good news.
-
I am glad that DC Nicky is pretty good for almost 20, and that he has pain meds to help with his issues. Did they shave his belly because this fur was matted? I like that the visit included a brushing.
-
Another bit of good news: I got an inquiry about doing an orchestration for my London conductor friend.
Fi gers crossed and major vibes this happens!
-
DR George I apologize for not saying hello back last night. I was asleep.
-
George is it a problem for you that the reading is on a different night than you expected?
-
Good morning, all.
-
Great play story, BK. Looking forward to learning more when the time is right.
Ditto and excellent vibes it all works out!
-
Something that always unsettles me for a moment is the reminder that cats are considered "seniors" beginning at seven or eight years of age.
-
Love the play obsession. May it have a successful rebirth!
-
DR Jane I have read the book The Hate U Give. But have not seen the movie yet. I will see it when the library gets it. I would read the book. I am really looking forward to the author's new book that came out this week.

T.O.D.
I don't think I was ever "obsessed" with any play or musical I saw.
I was five-years-old when I saw my first play, HARVEY w/Joe E. Brown. Still have memories of it.
Next play was a few years later: OKLAHOMA! It was the National company and I don't recall any of the cast.
As a teen, I made it a point to see many road shows that visited Seattle: THE MUSIC MAN w/Forrest Tucker and Joan Weldon; MY FAIR LADY w/Michael Evans; THE DESPERATE HOURS w/William Gargan, Richard Jaeckel and Nancy Colman; THE CAINE MUTINY COURT-MARTIAL w/ Paul Douglas, Wendell Corey, Steve Brodie and Robert Lowery; BYE, BYE BIRDIE with Bill Hayes and Joan Blondell; CAMELOT with Kathryn Grayson, Louis Hayward and Arthur Treacher; DAMN YANKEES! w/Bobby Clark.
We also had the Cirque Playhouse that imported stars to appear in plays with local actors: John Carradine, Reginald Gardner, Jane Darwell, Sterling Holloway, Charles Winninger, Edward Everett Horton, Rita Moreno, Stuart Erwin, Julie Haydon, Mercedes McCambridge,....
The one I do remember very well was Edward Everett Horton. Watching him work on stage was watching a master do his craft.

More on Peau d'âne: Based on a fairytale by Charles Perrault, but uncesored like Sondheim's Cinderella. The widowed king wants to marry his daughter, and she gets him to kill his donkey that shits gold and jewels and give her the magic donkey skin. She flees to the enemy kingdom and bakes a cake for the Prince with her ring inside. Prince vows to marry the girl whose finger fits the ring
All the girls in the kingdom mutilate their fingers to fit the ring. See a pattern here? Suffice it to say that love wins out, war is averted, the fairy godmother who helped her escape arrives in a helicopter, Prince marries Princess, and king marries fairy godmother, finis!
-
That's some play there DR WILLIAM F ORR......
-
Vibes for DC Nicky and DR TCB.
Work come through vibes for DR ELMORE.

Today is my first visit to my NEW regular doctor....since my Nurse Practitioner moved what he says is 15 minutes away....but it's a distance I've never covered in less than 45 minutes....
My new doctor does not have a Facebook page, so I do not know too much about him. After I got the letter from my former NP, I went in to get my flu shot and Nu Doctor had his picture up in the lobby with a banner that said: "Accepting New Patients"....so there you are.
-
I enjoyed the play notes very much and am most interested in following the story.....
TOD:
Hmmmmm.....WILDCAT......I shall have to think about this. I saw Frances Farmer do a comedy at the Avondale Playhouse....but I will have to see if I can find the program.....something about the parents trying to keep their daughter from making "the mistake" with her boyfriend.....but it turns out the mother did the same thing when she was young....it was quite the audience pleaser.
-
Ah apparently it is titled Yes, My Darling Daughter....
-
DR Jane I have read the book The Hate U Give. But have not seen the movie yet. I will see it when the library gets it. I would read the book. I am really looking forward to the author's new book that came out this week.
I was planning on reading the new book if I liked this one. If Keith wants to see the movie I might not want to if I read the book.

The king wants to marry his own daghter! :o

The king wants to marry his own daughter!
[I haven't figured out this copy/paste thing on my cellphone yet.]
Some of the old fairy tales are not for children!
-
Wikipedia tells me some versions of Cinderella have this incest thing too. Also Greek myth. Also the Bible. We are not the first generation to worry about it.

TOD:
In high school there was a fun community theater production of Anything Goes I couldn’t get enough of. (It was the Eileen Rogers-Hal Linden version.)
Shakespeare in the Park productions of The Tempest, Merry Wives of Windsor, Hamlet and Macbeth. Saw the Hamlet five times in two weeks.
-
I was completely obsessed with the musical Blood Brothers when Petula Clark did it on Broadway.
-
I think the musical of "Oedipus" had the hit song "Mama, you're making eyes at me," isn't that right?
-
LOL DR FJL.....if it didn't it should have....or it will....
-
Flash floods and tornado warnings in the area.....and south of me....the drive to the doctor should be fun!
Ok.....tornado warnings expired.....
-
Ground saturated with melted snow....so a couple of inches of rain with no place to go.
-
Home from City Center, and back tomorrow. We finished Act One of I Married an Angel. Joshie went to lunch at 1:30 and I came home.

Very good news, Larry!
-
Another bit of good news: I got an inquiry about doing an orchestration for my London conductor friend.
Great news and good luck, Larry! Hope it pans out!
-
DR George I apologize for not saying hello back last night. I was asleep.
No problem, Jane. It happens to all of us. 8)
-
George is it a problem for you that the reading is on a different night than you expected?
Not for this weekend. Next weekend, I have things going on every night, but this weekend is completely free.

Joshie doesn't need me tomorrow until 11:00, so I will go to my accountant and sign my tax forms.
-
I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of sleep - first set of dreams, very disturbing, second set fun.
-
Oh, right. Dream #3, another of my epics within a single week. Not as "big" or complex as the other two. That first one about page turning was the clear winner.
But it's funny I should mention page turning. I just played through the Hello, Dolly! piano/celeste book. Visually, it's a thing of beauty. Well, relative beauty. But there's questionable piano scoring, and no such thing as a good page turn. Maybe one in every ten is a decent one -- and it isn't because they have you playing pretty much throughout. There was just literally zero thought to laying out these pages. Nada.
-
Page turning....

I was completely obsessed with the musical Blood Brothers when Petula Clark did it on Broadway.
He killed his father,
That was patricide.
Then he took his mama
For a mattress ride.

Can we get off this page?

It’s 65 outside now. Tomorrow’s high is 43.

Annabelle and Thatch got new laser toys today. They are very happy.

Good afternoon/evening.
-
Nicky thanks you all for the good wishes.
-
I am glad that DC Nicky is pretty good for almost 20, and that he has pain meds to help with his issues. Did they shave his belly because this fur was matted? I like that the visit included a brushing.
For the price I paid, he should have gotten a full spa treatment. Yes, his tummy was badly matted.

Safeway looked like the night before Thanksgiving.

The first "Winter Storm Warning" has just been posted for heavy snow (for us) starting on Friday at noon.
-
I don't see Thurston County listed on the warning.
-
They are now calling this storm Stormageddon. Hopefully, tongue in cheek.
-
The good news is that it will have to warm up to snow.
-

My copy of the movie has come to the library.
Are you planning on watching it? I decided to read "What Blooms from Dust" by James Markert first since they both checked out from the library at the same time.

The weather right now is around 28F. I just saw someone walking home in shorts!?! Granted it is a lot warmer than it has been. But still shorts seems ridiculous.
-
Annabelle and Thatch got new laser toys today. They are very happy.
Where did you find them?
-
The first "Winter Storm Warning" has just been posted for heavy snow (for us) starting on Friday at noon.
I didn't think about stocking up at the market. I should pay attention to the snow headed our way.

That is cold. I am always amazed how some people dress and are comfortable. I wear shorts to the gym and back. If I know we are going to stop on the way home I take a change of pants, as I did today since we went to Costco. Yesterday we went to Walgreens and I walked around the store in shorts. I wonder what people were thinking about me ;)
-
DR Jrand I hope your doctor visit went well and the weather cooperated.

Having discussions re the title of my book, which may have to change due to a trademark issue. IF I have to then the question becomes can I still use the setting - if not, I literally have to go through the book and change all the names and slightly fictionalize everything, rather like the Hollywood Historical Society book, which was actually based on a real group called Hollywood Heritage - I fictionalized all that for other reasons, but this one I'd like to keep real. Trying to have a phone conversation about it tomorrow. Meanwhile, I've begun doing the alternate version so that I'm ahead of the game should I need to change it all. I've already adjusted stuff in the first sixty pages - doesn't really take all that long.
-
Good luck.
-
My Pastors asked me if I would be a Eucharistic minister and commit to bringing communion to a couple of our elderly ladies in local nursing homes
-
So today at lunch time I popped by the church and was given my portable communion kit , prayers , instructions and details on two ladies
-
I called the first one and made arrangements to go over Sunday after church , she and her daughter (who was visiting when I called) were so happy to hear from me I was glad I said yes
-
My poor friend in Muskegon, Michigan has been without power ( and hence heat) for almost two days now.
-

Awww, nice :)
-
Vixmom, you are truly a Godsend. You are a kind, generous, loving person and I'm am honored to have some kind of connection to you.
-
4our!!!!
-
And now, I must leave work and go...somewhere.
Be back later.
-
A lull. ::)
-
I'm home after going shopping for cat food.
-
I'm now watching tonight's episode of The Big Bang Theory.
-
Well, this isn't good: A potentially crippling snowstorm is headed for Seattle (https://amp.cnn.com/cnn/2019/02/07/us/seattle-snow-weather-forecast-wxc/index.html).
:o
-
We will likely watch it tomorrow night.
-
We have a storm warning beginning Friday evening.
-
Our warning is not as dramatic as the Seattle headline.
-
We should have bought milk today.
-
Gratuitous Post #100!
-
We should have bought milk today.
A couple of days ago, I bought a gallon of (cow) milk on a whim. I hadn't gotten that much for myself in years.
-
Just had to share.
-
Well, this is...interesting: Indian man to sue his parents for giving birth to him ‘without his consent’, wants to be paid for his life (https://www.foxnews.com/world/indian-man-to-sue-his-parents-for-giving-birth-to-him-without-his-consent-wants-to-be-paid-for-his-life.amp).
-
Really? ???
-
I'm watching one of the local news broadcasts.
-
They did a segment on the upcoming snow storm and showed footage of local stores with empty shelves and LONG lines.
-
People interviewed said that they were in the lines for an hour or more!
-
I went to Fred Meyer tonight and saw that there were lines halfway down the aisles!
-
I don't remember ever seeing lines that long.
-
But since I didn't need anything from there, I didn't have to wait in the lines.
-
Whew!
-
I then went to Mud Bay, the pet food store, and got some dry cat food for Neve.
-
Page four? Really?
-
Good evening.

These snow storms, and a massive traffic accident or two, have reeked havoc on WEDDING SINGER rehearsals.

One more post.

These snow storms, and a massive traffic accident or two, have reeked havoc on WEDDING SINGER rehearsals.
I can imagine!
-
If it's like other Broadway Olympia shows, a lot of the cast are from out of town. :-\
-
A lot of them from Tacoma and Seattle.
-
It is hard telling what will happen to this weekends rehearsals.
-
Are you all srtocked up for the weekend, George?
-
I have soup and frozen food, plus water and juice.
-
Sadly, I have no cookies in the house.
-
Except the ones for Nick.
-
Are you all srtocked up for the weekend, George?
I have quite a bit of food. But some (a lot?) of it requires electricity to cook it, but I do have some food that doesn't require electricity to prepare.
-
I can’t keep my eyes open.
-
Sadly, I have no cookies in the house.
Sadly, I DO have cookies in my house...which I should be eating as often as I do. ::)
;)
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.

Good night, 1 Guest.
