Well, you've read the notes, the notes were broad and had horizons, and now it is time for you to post until the broad cows come home.

Listening to the Laurette master.  I knew it sounded better than the previous release, but I wasn't sure how MUCH better until I played both opening tracks back to back - it's HUGELY better, and so is Rashomon, which sounded good on the first release but sounds amazing here.

Can't go to sleep until I finish listening so I can approve.  Ten more minutes.  The biggest improvement is Death of a Salesman, which is actually listenable now - twelve years ago none of this was possible and I hated the way Salesman sounded but it was either that or don't issue at all.  This is a massive upgrade - it's not ever going to sound pristine, but wow.

I shall peruse the fleas and then come home and work on my review which MR BK can indeed look forward to.

Actually, Lori Loughlin seems to care way way too much, which is awful for what she did, but might arguably be the right passion level for the country,

but legal limits should have been observed!

Just as an example:  It seems to me that if Felicity Huffman and Bill Macy had done a theater arts seminar at the college for a semester or two, so many students would have gained something - and then their kids getting in on some legacy type idea for their folks being teachers would be  legal, even if nepotism,  whatever  anyone feels about the legal ways kids get into schools.  How would it be different than someone donating for a wing of a building and their kids getting in.  It's not fair either, but somehow everyone knows about things like that and goes along with it.

These new money laundering charges are far more damning.  Our youngest was an underachiever until graduate school.  Had I been offered the chance to bribe his way into USC, even knowing he would do the work, I would not have done it.  If Loughlin's daughter wasn't such a shallow flake Laughlin might not look like an idiot for even doing this.

Greetings from Newark International Airport!   I arrived last night and spent the night at an airport hotel.  My flight to DC was supposed to leave exactly at this time (12:51 pm), but is now delayed till 2:55

I had a really good time in Athens.   I would have liked to have gone to at least one island, but it didn't work out.  I  enjoyed a leisurely schedule.   My friend is a late sleeper so we didn't really get started till about 11:00am to 1:00 pm, depending on the day.

I really enjoyed the food.  The hotel had a huge spread for breakfast.  The scrambled eggs were diced (?) and I think they probably mixed butter in them.  They also had fried eggs, potatoes, mushrooms, beans, spinach or cheese pie, "gratinated" tomatoes.   Even mixed vegetables.  (and bacon and sausage for the meat lovers).  Of course Greek yogurt was featured.  I mixed it with delicious strawberry preserves and put it over bran flakes.     The bread was delicious.  There were several kinds of bread and rolls and those little pretzel-like things covered in sesame seeds.  Lots of other stuff too!

That really is such a good idea, to switch hotels like that, especially not to have to worry about things like traffic to the airport before a flight.

I had a lot of authentic Greek food also, such as fava spread (made with yellow peas), Greek salad, tomatoes stuffed with rice, of course tzatziki sauce.   Of course I had pasta, but it was different from what I am used to:  noodles with mushrooms and a delicious sauce.  We even had pizza, which was good too.

Well, actually, FJL, my flight from Athens arrived too late for me to get a connecting flight, so I had to stay overnight.  The fares on Emirates from Newark to Athens were much cheaper than they were on other airlines, even when counting the cost of the hotel.

We went to three museums, each one fascinating.  The first was the Acropolis Museum.   Many of the floors are made of glass so you can see the ruins below.  It's mind-boggling to read how old some of the artifacts are.

The last was the Byzantine and Christian Museum.   In visiting all these museums, I realized how little I know about Ancient Greece, etc.    I never knew, for example, how large the Greek empire was at one time.

And then of course, getting to the plane from the hotel was very easy.

But switching hotels - I don't think I've ever done that, except  during weeks-long business trips, like in Atlanta on an AT&T job years ago, when the room rates changed a lot and everyone in our group on that job changed at the same time because if the room rates.

Did I mention finally figuring out why so many people "decided" to do their own returns, or at least try to?  That it was finally seeing that Mnuchin and Trump had sent letters to everyone whom had been under a certain amount of income in 2017 and offered access to totally free and simply worded online software, so it was risk-free to give it a try.  (If I mentioned it on HHW before, sorry about that - but it was a curiosity that they all thought of it, but it now makes total sense.)

The Club place in Fort Lauderdale had been so great in November, because of how concentrated the people were at so few gates that day.  And it was somehow free with the credit card I'd used.  I may have to plan for that next time from Florida in case there are such packed waiting areas.

Now I see why people hate United.  I left the United Club and went to my gate (21) only to see St. Louis as the destination.  The woman at another gate confirmed that my flight was leaving from Gate 21.   I heard the woman at gate 21 tell someone that the DC flight would leave after this one.  I looked at the board and saw that the St. Louis flight was supposedly leaving at 3:24 and the Washington flight at 3:25.  From the same gate!  Then I got a text saying the flight was now leaving from Gate 24.  I went to Gate 24 and asked the agent.  He said yes, that was correct.   I asked when it might be leaving.  He replied  "we're waiting for the inbound aircraft."   The departure time is still listed as 3:25 and it's now 3:17

Just remembered I should check on my Fosse/Verdon DVR capture. I was way too beat to watch it last night, but will probably want to tonight.

The Borowitz joke "Trump names Lori Loughlin Education Secretary" is actually too close to being better than who we  actually have.  :)

True. Too true.

I liked Michelle Williams as Gwen but Sam Rockwell was not Bob Fosse.....perhaps he will get better as the series goes along....I hope....but I never imagined Bob Fosse as a sour midget with a permanent lemon puss.....  Right now he isn't even Roy Scheider....

It sounds delicious.

Greetings from Newark International Airport!   I arrived last night and spent the night at an airport hotel.

That really is such a good idea, to switch hotels like that, especially not to have to worry about things like traffic to the airport before a flight.

It is when you can do it.

I wonder why they call it Fava spread when it is made is yellow split peas instead of green Fava beans.  It still sounds good.

We went to three museums, each one fascinating.  The first was the Acropolis Museum.   Many of the floors are made of glass so you can see the ruins below.  It's mind-boggling to read how old some of the artifacts are.

There was too long of a line for this and then I am sorry to say we did not return.  Our friends really wanted to see it.

Just got a message from United Airlines.  My flight is now delayed until 3:25 pm.   At this rate I could have taken a train to the city and seen a matinee.

I hate when that happens, especially when the drive home would have been faster.

The last was the Byzantine and Christian Museum.   In visiting all these museums, I realized how little I know about Ancient Greece, etc.    I never knew, for example, how large the Greek empire was at one time.

When they did that "Grease" revival where all the students looked 35 or more - that's the closest I've gotten (so far) to seeing ancient Grease.

;D

Did I mention finally figuring out why so many people "decided" to do their own returns, or at least try to?  That it was finally seeing that Mnuchin and Trump had sent letters to everyone whom had been under a certain amount of income in 2017 and offered access to totally free and simply worded online software, so it was risk-free to give it a try.  (If I mentioned it on HHW before, sorry about that - but it was a curiosity that they all thought of it, but it now makes total sense.)

If you did I missed it.

Can't remember if I posted this last night, but...

There is a ton of lazy writing here - it's not brain surgery to research stuff - it takes about thirty seconds.  And yet, as a friend wrote: "after an interesting recreation of Gwen giving valuable creative input to filming Big Spender, she's back in NYC telling Bob about lines outside the Ziegfeld... They did have lines outside the Ziegfeld three years later for Cabaret. I was in one. But she's talking about Sweet Charity, which played at the Rivoli. Bob jokes the lines may be there to see The Love Bug. Gwen says the Ziegfeld has only one screen. Okay this was decades before multiplex venues, and The Love Bug didn't open (at the Music Hall I think) until at least a month after Charity opened at the Rivoli."
