Well, you've read the notes, the notes were good, and now it is time for you to post until the good cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PROPITIOUS!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
We're havin' a little Bartok here right now.
-
First post after BK!
-
I slept for about 45 minutes.
-
Well, I hate to do this (no, I REALLY do!), but I need to get to sleep. I agreed to help my sister do some projects around her house later today (it's MUCH too late/early/dark to do any projects now ;) ).
So, good night and have a good day, all!
-
The same to you.
-
I am going to try and go back to sleep.
-
Sleep well, Lady Jane.
-
Good night, George and Jane.
-
And good night, Lady jan!
-
BK,
I don't know about the transfer, but as I recall, THE BIG FIX was a pretty good movie. Not great, but certainly entertaining.
Of course, I haven't seen it in 20+ years, but....
-
T.O.D.
Too many great Harry Warren songs to list, but here's a few:
"Lullaby of Broadway"
"You'll Never Know"
"On the Atchison, Topeka and the Santa Fe"
-
It's been a busy week at church it being Holy Week
-
Today us a soup kitchen day so I have to go
-
I also need to get to Costco where I really do not want to go to on the day before Easter, but one of the silicone nose pieces disappeared from my glasses yesterday
-
And it's pouring out
-
Yuck
-
Good morning!
-
DR VIXMOM I have seen those little repair kits at Dollar Tree on the Sunglasses rack.....it might do until you can get to Costco on a less crazy day.
-
Tomorrow is Keith's 70th birthday so we are off for a couple of nights. Keith has been wanting to do this for a lot of years now.
-
I enjoyed the I Love Lucy episodes....the color is crazy....and there was an ad that all of the colorized episodes would be available on DVD in the fall - but since they are so heavily edited, why would anyone bother?
-
TOD:
All of the songs from 42nd Street.....
Chattanooga Choo Choo.....
So many.....I have an old CD called The Busby Berkeley Album that has so many of Warren's songs on it.....I play it often!
-
Keith has been having fun with my Facebook page again.
-
Darn, I can't seem to copy the photo here.
-
Once up I had Keith post the photo from his computer.
-
I also need to get to Costco where I really do not want to go to on the day before Easter, but one of the silicone nose pieces disappeared from my glasses yesterday
Ouch.
-
Good morning, all!
-
I awoke at 5:3- with a terrible headache and my sinuses completely blocked. I took my allergy meds and two Tylenol tabs and went back to bed. After feeding the cats, I went back to bed until 10:00, and I am now officially up and ready for today's fresh hell.
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
I have some Jerome Moross work today, and little else to do.
-
Annabelle is very happy I am out of bed and pushing me to patrol.

Good :)
-
Good morning, all.

Rain, rain, rain, rain, rain.
That’s our day here.
-
It’s an indoors day for me, anyway.
I need to get comfortable once and for all with 4 or 5 songs from SHREK, then I’ll be sufficiently ready for tech week which begins Monday.
-
I'm up, I'm up - only about five hours of sleep - texts coming in at seven-thirty. I had to make a quick run to get some Windex. Now she of the Evil Eye is here and I shall shortly be on my way to have a light breakfast.
-
Going back a couple of days...
I was looking through some music in the hope that I still had my score to the Five Pieces for Orchestra. I hadn’t remembered seeing it in a while and it’s just one of those things that I suddenly would have been crushed to find missing. And I really wanted to look at it. But there it was, in all its glory...complete with a brown embossed DYMO LABEL sporting my name on the front cover. You remember those, right? Yes, I really did that to things over a period of a couple of years. Not a whole lot of things, but enough that something or other still turns up with one occasionally.
Next I went to the shelf to retrieve the Dorati album and see what other recordings I might have. I always considered myself fortunate to have bought that one back in the day — for no particular reason, I guess it just looked like a good choice even though neither Dorati nor the Mercury label meant much of anything to me at the time — but over the years this one became very collectible, mine’s in mint condition, and I really do love it.
So what do I find on it? A DYMO LABEL sporting my name! :D Okay, it makes total sense that I would have acquired both of these at precisely the same time and all, but sheesh.
-

Wow, I actually got more sleep than you did. Only an hour but I will take it.
-
Tried uploading photographic evidence of the two DYMO LABELS, but one of them keeps getting:
"Your attachment has failed security checks and cannot be uploaded. Please consult the forum administrator."
Oh well. I'm sure you all thoroughly enjoyed the unillustrated version of my little story. :)

I stepped out to an ACC adoption event at the Pet Store a block from me. I looked at some adorable 11-week old kittens, a beautiful light brown chihuahua puppy and his mother, and a beautiful 86 pound pit bull named Blaze that I'd seen on the ACC adoption lists. The puppy had been adopted, and his mother looked just like him. I chatted a bit, stopped at the market, and now I have to clear off my work table.

Saturday afternoon greetings! Today is Rob and Mary Linda’s moving day. He picked up a big U- haul truck and their hired helpers arrived at 9am. The truck left here 2 hours later and was unloaded at the new house by 12:30. The kids went to lunch and are on their way back here for another load and, probably, the cat.
-
Easy moving vibes.
-
We are on the road, only 3.5 hours to go.
-
DR Kevin was there a tornado?
-
Travel vibes for DR JANE & KEITH.
-
I have several things with DYMO labels as well DR CHAS SMITH. It seemed like a good idea - at the time.
-
Moving vibes for Rob & Linda.
DR GINNY does that mean you will be losing your guest cat? Or did I dream that?
-
Easy moving vibes.
So far, so good...

Hello, everyone.
-
Bruce, I replied to your email, but something went wrong when I pressed SEND and I cannot explain it. I hope you can make sense of it.
-
Travel vibes to Jane and Keith. You're driving to Cicely, Alaska?? Canada?
-
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DH Keith!
May you have a lovely birthday trip.
-
Moving vibes to DR Ginny's Rob and Mary Linda and Allie.
Getting unpacked and settled vibes, too.
-
DR Ginny, were you able to get used to Allie during her stay or do you still prefer a pet-free home?
-
I did the laundry. I know: big deal. I'm in the mood to curl up with an old movie.
-
Speaking of LULLABY OF BROADWAY, I have it here for this weekend's viewing.
-
TTFN.

Moving vibes to DR Ginny's Rob and Mary Linda and Allie.
Getting unpacked and settled vibes, too.
Thanks, DR Jeanne.
-
We are out of the traffic and off of I-5.
-
DR Ginny, were you able to get used to Allie during her stay or do you still prefer a pet-free home?
We will miss her, but I don’t want a pet of our own. Never have...
-
It is a pretty drive along I-90.
-
Perfect sense.
-
Had a light breakfast, picked up packages, and am home now. Had a nice visit with Sandy Bainum.
-
And waiting to see if something is going to happen or not happen - it should be a simple thing, and yet nothing is simple anymore for reasons I will never understand.

What would Jesus do?
-
WHAT a day!
-
This day was a big ol' WHAT.
-
It was the Saga of the new iPhone.
-
Nutty. Crazy.
-
Crazy. Nutty.
-
I spent an hour at the Apple Store trying to get it - that didn't work for a really stupid reason. So, I came home and called AT&T and first got them to lower my monthly bills because I was on a really inane plan that was so over what I actually use - we did that. And then I told him my Apple Store iPhone story. So, he said I could order through AT&T without having the same problem. It's an upgrade and the Apple Store was giving me $300 for my phone plus, as it turns out, I had a nice-sized credit leftover from years ago, had it in my "Wallet" on the phone and never even knew it was there - well, over three hundred bucks. So, the new phone was basically free as was Apple Care. He originally said it would be two or three business days, but five minutes later said I'd have it between three and five. Couldn't believe that was right, but got a text from the fellows who'd be bringing it and setting it up for me.
-
In the text, the same problem arose - which has to do with my not having renewed my license yet - mostly due to two to three-month wait times for appointments (I kid you not) and me not having the time to go sit for four hours there. So, AT&T's unbendable policy is you have to show a government-issued photo ID. Nothing else works. But the guy was very understanding and came up with a workaround and, as luck would have it, it was easy to do. It was just a matter of adding someone as an authorized user. Sandy Bainum was here picking up CDs and visiting, so I added her, they showed up, she showed them her ID and voila. She left, I removed her as an authorized user and the new phone was here. The two boys were great - they set it up, got everything from the old phone to the new phone in all of ten minutes, most of that time devoted to updating to the latest operating system (there was an updated IOS just two days ago.
-
They left, I went back to the Apple Store to activate the Apple Care off my gift card credit, got a case, and now I have a new iPhone X Max. It's pretty beautiful, but it will take some getting used to as there's no home button - everything is swiping up. I've already sort of gotten used to it. So, I'll play with it and figure out the ins and outs, but it's basically the same, almost, kind of, sort of. I love new toys when they don't cost anything.
-
What is this page three malarky?
-
Good afternoon.
-
I got the new shingles shot yesterday, and as the pharmacist warned me, I am feeling mildly crappy. Not awful. Achy and tired.
-
Like Vixmom, it was soup kitchen day for me. It started with a 5 a.m. text asking if I would cook.
-
I have to go to the store yet this evening to get the stuff for my breakfast dish for tomorrow.
-
Such an exciting day!
-
Good news about the shot DR LAURA.....I have had my prescription for almost two months, but none has been available.
-
And that fascinating information takes us to Page Four.
-
Page four? Really?
-
I had some chicken salad on rye for my main meal. And believe me, I worked off the light breakfast completely.
-
Listening to music - very interesting - Schoenberg orchestrating Brahms' piano quartet - really delightful.
-
By George I did it.
DYMO LABEL DANCE!
-
Well at least I was neat about it.
-
But the late 60s, early 70s, man. DYMO.
-
Good news about the shot DR LAURA.....I have had my prescription for almost two months, but none has been available.
Out here, one can go to any pharmacy; the pharmacist prescribes and administers it. That's pretty much how they do all vaccinations for adults. The doctors don't ever seem to have it.
-
It was the Saga of the new iPhone.
That doesn't sound like fun.

Darn. Vibes it doesn't get worse and you quickly feel better.

Why do you need a script for it?

I thought it was the same everywhere.

Dinner at Roslyn Cafe aka Roslyn's Cafe was delicious. First we had drinks and edamame with black & white sesame seeds plus a yummy dipping sauce we poured over the edamame. I forgot to ask what the sauce was. It tasted like it was made with sesame oil.
-
The Cesar salad was just ok & I shouldn't have ordered it cuz there wasn't room in my tummy for much. It arrived with dinner instead of before, as requested, which turned out to be a good mistake.
-
Trying to get through The Big Fix - they really don't know what kind of movie they wanted to make, is the biggest problem, plus I really hate the director, Jeremy Paul Kagan, and Dreyfuss is just being the same guy he was in all his movies back around The Goodbye Girl. What's keeping me going are the LA location shots, although Kagan wouldn't know how to shoot them if his life depended on it.
-
Our sweet young waitress informed us early on this was her first day. Later I asked if it was her first time ever as a waitress and she said yes. Over all she did ok for her first time.
-
Dinner was housemade mushroom bean veggies burgers with a curry aioli sauce. Half the plate was filled with shoestring french fries coated or tossed in crispy grated parmesan cheese. I ate way too many of those.
-
We served about 120 meals at the soup kitchen today
-
then I headed out to Costco.
-
Impressive. You are angels.
-
The parking lot was packed and I despaired at what the lines and store would be like but surprisingly it didn't seem crowded inside
-
In fact there was absolutely no customers at the optical department counter and they fixed my specs right away
-
Then I decided to buy Easter dinner stuff
-
Ham, tiny new potatoes, fresh green beans, mushrooms, pea, macaroons,
-
Of course I grazed past the sample ladies while shopping
-
The onion potato perogi dipped on sour cream was especially tasty
-
Speciality mixed nuts were nice
-
And the tuxedo chocolate mousse cake was a nice finish
-
I got home around 3
-
Vixdad offered to take me out to eat
-
Since all I had all day was the Costco samples and a piece of garlic bread dipped in tomato sauce (at the soup kitchen) I was happy to go
-
We went to our favorite IHOP
-
I had the turkey, avocado, bacon wrap
-
Substituted fruit salad for the French fries
-
Vixdad had a burger
-
Then we came home and had tea and a rest
-
Then I changed and headed out for the 7:30 Easter Vigil
-
Afterwards I refilled all the candles and set up for Easter morning communion
-
And then back home by 9:15
-
This was not me

But it certainly could have been

A sample from the bakery is a special treat.

Finally finished with The Big Fix. I'm glad I stuck it out, though - at the two-thirds point we finally got a money show - Dolores Drive-In on Wilshire near La Cienega. Of course, it's meaningless in the movie itself, but oh how I would love to just go in there one more time and have my Jumbo Jim with cheese and extra z-sauce and Suzie-Q fries, and the dinner salad with oily roquefort dressing. But they tended to stick to downtown mostly. There was one scene at Harper House apartments in West Hollywood and one on Writghtwood in Studio City. But the most interesting thing and performance? The pool man. Approximately thirty seconds of screen time if that - truly weird and very funny. It was the actor's first film. Mandy Patinkin.

Easy moving vibes.

OMG. On all counts. Must see.
-
Can people screen shot a Blu-ray? It would be wonderful to have that shot.

'night

Took a shower so I could look like a human when setting up face recognition on the iPhone. No more home button so no more thumbprint ID.

It occurs to me that if I were to make about 845 more postings tonight I would reach my new milestone.

Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Listening to flute concertos by Carl Nielsen, Honegger, Poulenc, and Ibert. And why not?
-
Why not, I say?
-
Page six? Really?
-
Good evening.
-
What a crowd we have in the time before the start of Easter, and the continuation of Passover.
-
But we did get to page six, with no help from me.
-
Not that I am bragging about that.
-
I am just glad I didn’t arrive to find us still on page three.
-
I am really tired.
-
Brain tired.
-
Hi, Tom.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
I'm actually in downtown Olympia right now!
-
My friend David and his wife who live in Seattle now were in town with a friend of hers who is visiting from the east coast.
-
They texted, asking if I wanted to visit with them and I said yes!
-
I haven't seen them in several months.
-
We met at a local restaurant called Quality Burrito.
-
Their burritos are HUGE and good!
-
Today I attended free shredding day at one of the local credit union’s parking lots.
-
Highly recommended by the likes of me...if you ever come to downtown Olympia. :D
-
They ate and I had BK's favorite, diet Coke.
-
We chatted and had a good time.
-
They just left to go back to Seattle, and I'm sitting in my car, writing these posts! ;D
-
Today I attended free shredding day at one of the local credit union’s parking lots.
Tom, did you have a lot to shred?
-
I actually have my own cross-cut shredder, but Margo is borrowing it, right now...not that I have anything to shred at the moment.
-
I very nice event handled most Saturdays during Spring and Summer by one of the local refuse companies.
-
Today I attended free shredding day at one of the local credit union’s parking lots.
Tom, did you have a lot to shred?
Three paper bags, the most you can bring per visit.

Could you leave and then come back?

Or, you could just get a willing friend to bring your extra bags. ;)

Well...
-
...let's...

...get to the...
-
PAGE SEVEN DANCE!!
-
I picked up my friend, Betzy and we drove over in my car.
-
I think she was in a bad mood.
-
Hey, my boys from Washington, how are you?
-
Well, I need to leave because I'm still sitting in my car in downtown Olympia, and I need to get home.
-
I think she was in a bad mood.
Oh, no.
-
Hey, my boys from Washington, how are you?
Doing well, and about to head home. How're you, jan?
-
Out of the blue she says, “Before you start packing, maybe you could get rid of some of your extra clothes. You have too many damn clothes.”
-
Hi, jan. How are you tonight?
-
Someone wants you naked, Tom?
-
Jan, I don't know if you know if you know this, but when one posts 500 posts, one becomes a Hero Member. You're almost there!
-
I am listening to the FOLLIES revival with elmore’s former best friend.
-
Out of the blue she says, “Before you start packing, maybe you could get rid of some of your extra clothes. You have too many damn clothes.”
WTH? :o
-
I am listening to the FOLLIES revival with elmore’s Former best friend.
I've ordered the new London revival cast recording, but it hasn't arrived yet.
-
Someone wants you naked, Tom?
I think she and I have gotten over that aspect.
-
Anyway, I must be off.
Be back soonly!
-
Besides, at my age, even my decor doesn’t want to see me naked.
-
I'm not too bad, my loves. recovering from a huge lunch Friday. It was my nephews birthday and he wanted to go to an all you can eat Korean BBQ. We ate for two hours, went back to my brother's where I promptly fell asleep for almost 2 hours.
-
But do you want to see the decor naked?
-
How's the condo coming?
-
What's the timeline look like?
-
Closing is supposed to be 5/13.
-
But do you want to see the decor naked?
Yes, from time to time.
-
I assume you meant doctor. I see the decor naked all the time.
-
I assumed you originally meant doctor but you never know, you might have a kinky side.
-
I assumed you originally meant doctor but you never know, you might have a kinky side.
Don’t you just love spellcheck.
-
Actually, I've never had a spellcheck change. Or I was too stupid to see it.
-
I doubt that.
