Well, you've read the notes, the notes were killer, and now it is time for you to post until the killer cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: YEALING!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after Dino.
-
Yes, George, I was well aware of Natalie and Audrey; I just couldn’t remember about THE KING AND I because I hadn’t seen the film since I was a kid.

Third post after Dino.

A Very Happy Birthday to DR Sandra, DD of DR Laura!! :D
-
For the new page dance, I think you should belly dance, George. It's good exercise.
-
Sorry, I fell asleep for a while there.
-
I think I should say goodnight, so goodnight.
-

Not gonna happen, jan. ;)
-
I think I should say goodnight, so goodnight.
Good night, jan.
-
Well, I need to be going to bed, too.
Have a good day, all!
-
Yes, a happy haineshisway.com birthday to Sandra - one of our favorites and we sure wish she'd stop by and leave some pithy birthday remarks.
-
The hovering allergies finally hit full force about thirty minutes ago, so no going to bed until the Claritin-D kicks in.
-
Good morning, all.
-
What, me first?
-
A happy Monday to y’all.
-
So here we are again. Another tech week. It’s SHREK, baby. SHREK.
-
Got plenty to do to get ready for it. At least they provide the keyboards, so no heavy hauling which is a lovely thing.
-
For now...
More coffee!
-
Good morning, all!
-
The allergies continue to plague me and make my life hell. This morning all of my facial bones around my eyes anbd nose and painful to touch, the worst spot being my forehead at the bridge of my nose. This is something new, and the neti pot is doing very little to help.
-
The cats and I are on Season 3 of Poirot, and we watched two episodes last. I was in bed by 9:30, but I slept quite poorly.
-
Annabelle wants to patrol and she's driving me mad. She's knocking things of the chest and table to catch my attention. It's caught.
-
Good morning!
-
Good morning to all
-
On patrol this morning we ran onto the pretty redhead who helped me look for Annabelle yesterday. Annabelle did her little polka step and let the young lady ooh and aah over how pretty and sweet she was. We also ran into the unfriendly young man who had me afraid yesterday that he'd tossed her down the garbage chute. He told us to have a nice day!
-
Time to get off page one!
-
Page Two Dance!
-
I have to write some bad checks today, and pay a visit to my bank.
-
We watched THE CATHER WAS A SPY last night, the true story of major league baseball player, Moe Berg, who lived a double life during WW2, working for the O.S.S.
The picture itself was not great, but it was well done and it certainly held our interest
-
GOOD MORNING TO ALL

TOD
I have to agree with BK that Kristin Chenoweth's version of Lion Tamer is perfection.
I also think that Barbra Streisand's single version (different from the film) of The Way We Were is also perfection.
-
Monday....I have postponed my shopping and banking until tomorrow - because I can.
-
Allergy and money vibes for DR ELMORE.
-
Beautiful weather here today! Most excellent.
-
TOD:
Downtown - Petula Clark
Un Bel Di - Deanna Durbin
Being Alive - Dean Jones
Chinese Food In Bed - Mr Bruce Kimmel
-
DR Elmore re: Annabelle running off. Have you ever thought of one of those cat leashes? At first I found them weird (there is man here who walks his cat outdoors daily). But it would make sure that you never had these types of issues again.
-
The Streets of New York has arrived in Indiana....have arrived....has....the Cd is here.....
-
About time for me to pack things up, get out of here, and let my freak flag wave.
-
We had dial up in Ashland for longer than most people before switching to Satellite and then it was years before we finally got DSL. We very much enjoy our cable.
-
DR TCB you might have a stronger signal in your new home.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO FORMER DR SANDRA 🎁🎂

Yes, a happy haineshisway.com birthday to Sandra - one of our favorites and we sure wish she'd stop by and leave some pithy birthday remarks.
DITTO!
-
Happy underpants to DR SANDRA!

I'm up, I'm up - I think I managed to get eight hours of sleep.
-
Due to horrendous allergy attack, I didn't fall asleep until around four, was up at six very briefly, needing a Pepcid for my tummy, back asleep soon thereafter, up briefly at ten, then eleven, and now I'm up.
-
SHREK!
I don't have to worry about it until June - by then DR CHAS SMITH will be finished with it.
-
Went to the mail place and picked up one package and no mail.
-
I'd already decided on Popeye's for food. I went to their site and counted calories for two breasts and the two biscuits that come with them. All that adds up to just under 1000 calories. So, there I went, then came home and ate it all up and it was very good and filling, too. Now, if I can just be strong and not eat anything else I'll be good for today and then I need to do this every day for months. It's harder and harder, but if I don't do it now I never will.
-
But here's the real expose that needs to be exposed. When I go to McDonald's and get the three items that I like, which is my food intake for the day, it now costs over sixteen bucks - sixteen BUCKS for McDonald's - that's just ridiculous and kind of heading into Jerry's Deli territory. Taco Bell is also not as inexpensive as it was, although I can get out of there for a little under ten bucks. But the two bargain jernts are Popeye's - two big breasts, two biscuits, total expense $6.11. THAT is a bargain. And In N Out is still very reasonable if you get two cheeseburgers - a more than reasonable just over five bucks with tax. Cheaper than McDonald's Big Mac and much better.
-
Page two? Really?
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Got the latest batch of Twiligh Time Blu-rays. After Nick passed away, I wasn't sure how to make sure I'd still get everything, but I worked that out last week with the guy who arranges all that. He's a nice guy and I've done him favors before, and he also knows I'll post about them, which is helpful.
-
The Streets of New York has arrived in Indiana....have arrived....has....the Cd is here.....
I've wondered the same thing about Lehman Brothers.
-
Is it "Lehman Brothers are gone"
-
or is it "Lehman Brothers is gone"
-
Either way, the smash hit off-Broadway show about Lehman Brothers has gone back to London.
-

I wonder if it's because the Big Mac is now the dinner of choice at the White House.

Not the TOD, but this is the perfect way to not honor your big hit song. :)
Cher introduces "Just Like Jesse James" by first calling it crap but then conceding that it's not really crap, it's just not her favorite
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpclpqXGe5A
-
I do like her conceding that "when you get old, you just ramble and ramble and ramble..."
-
The other day, Trump tweeted something like "Finally, Cher agrees with me on something." She seemed aghast.

Hello, everyone.
-
Bruce, have you tried Sambucol for your allergies? It's not just good for colds and flu. I take it whenever I start getting congested and also if I'm feeling lousy but don't really know what to take. It's a good all-rounder.
-
Allergy-begone vibes to all of us!
-
TOD, but about theater, since I announced this elsewhere. :)
I paid $1.80 to see Laurette Taylor in “Glass Menagerie” and would gladly have paid twice that. I've decided enough is enough with all the people who say I've never seen theater unless I saw Laurette Taylor on this play.
I’m doing a Sarah Huckabee Sanders on that one from now on. Whenever it comes up, and it comes up all the time, as long as I‘m not under oath: I saw her, they can prove I didn’t.

There's a little hole-in-the-wall Mexican restaurant that I go to a lot. Two freshly made veggie tacos for $5.50. Maybe not quite the bargain as BK's Popeye's, but really good and they fill me up. Sooo many restaurants these days seem overpriced to me.

I have no news.
TTFN.

Oh, yes, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to DR SANDRA!
We miss you, Sandra!
-
I just now learned of a new TV show: MS. FISHER'S MODERN MURDER MYSTERIES. It's a take-off from the Phrynne Fisher mysteries, starring her "niece." It begins on Acorn TV next week. It will be difficult indeed to equal the wonderful chemistry of the original MISS FISHER series. But I will most definitely give it a try.
-
I pretty much take Sambucol all the time - I always have ten boxes here no matter what. But only Claritin-D can actually stop the allergies cold.
-
So, there I was, listening to a different performance of the Tansman 5th symphony, which I found in the garage - much better interpretation from not as good an orchestra, so a trade-off, but I also prefer the sound, which is more up front in this one. So, for fun I searched Amazon to see if there are other performances of his symphonies - there are some one-offs that don't look very good, but in the search, interestingly, a Henryk Gorecki symphony came up, which I thought was odd - not his famous chart-topping third symphony (one of the oddest phenomenons in music history, selling over a million copies on the pop charts), but his final symphony, the fourth, which he completed only in short score with orchestration instructions for his son, who did the orchestration after his father died. And what is the subtitle of this symphony? Tansman Episodes. So, a kind of homage to Tansman and written for a then-festival celebrating Tansman. It's on the Tube of You and it's very interesting - very repetitious - VERY repetitious, but like Gorecki's third, there's something mesmerizing about it. I'm liking it although you'll want to kick in your speakers after the twentieth repeat of the opening figure. But somehow it's held my attention (I accidentally wrote "intention" of "attention" - hmmm).
-
Page three? Really?
-
Happy birthday, Sandra!
-
The music just turned very Khachaturian Sabre Dance for a few bars. I think they call this kind of writing "eclectic." But it's holding my intention and attention. This is a live recording and there are a lot of coughing morons in attendance. You know how that goes: these coughers have not coughed all day, not coughed prior to the concert beginning, but as soon as the conductor gives the downbeat and there's a quiet section, they cough. And they continue to cough throught the entire duration of the music. As soon as it's over - they don't cough again. It is a phenomenon like no other.
-
Sandra is a no-show, birthday-wise.
-
Perhaps she's out feeding homeless pigeons or gnus.

I am wondering where this niece will come from since, as far as I know, her only sibling was her little sister.
It looks like the niece will be introduced in the upcoming Miss Fisher and the Crypt of Tears (https://www.vox.com/culture/2019/2/12/18221978/miss-fishers-murder-mysteries-movie-crypt-of-tears-acorn-tv)

After watching the trailer for the new show I am not overly hopeful.

Our scenic route home today was beautiful. We took I-97 to WA-14. WA-14 followed the Columbia River through a gorgeous section of the river we have never seen before. Now I understand why the Steamboat cruises along the Columbia River are popular.
-
That's pretty cool, Jane.
-
Good evening, all.
-
Sorry to have been E&T lately. I went to visit my friend Bonnie for Easter.
-
We had plenty of fun, watching several movies, eating, etc.
-
We watched Hitchcock's Under Capricorn, which neither of us had seen, as well as the magnificent Rififi and a National Geographic series on the Okavongo Delta.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
On Easter Sunday, we went to a Methodist church for Easter service, a bit of a change for this Lutheran. (They applaud a lot.)
-
For Easter dinner, she made fajitas, which had spectacular flavor, as well as a series of vegetables, including roasted tomatoes and peppers, green beans, mushrooms and a salad. I made deviled eggs.
We had too much food for two and proceeded to enjoy as much of it as we could.
-
Tonight, I watched a fascinating documentary called Tea With the Dames, which features a sit-down with Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Joan Plowright and Eileen Atkins. Great conversation and an amazing series of clips from throughout their careers. I wish some of them were available in full-length as bonuses. I was thrilled to see the beginning of Judi Dench as Sally Bowles singing Don't Tell Mama. But in the movie it's less than a minute long.
-
Happy birthday, Sandra!

Would love a review. Meanwhile, the latest season of Brokenwood Mysteries has arrived. I hope to get those started this week.

Hi, Jan!
-
Hi, John! Have you done dancin' lately?
-
Tonight was the Fiesta River Parade. The theater where I usher gave us all free seats, which was fun to be with people I like and I'm getting to know a little better.
The theme was The Movies. There were floats with themes such as Saturday Night Fever, Coco, Sing!, Mary Poppins, The Sound of Music and Grease. One was All That Jazz/Chicago. Then there were the Star Wars, Indiana Jones and The Mummy action adventure floats. And a perfect evening weatherwise.
-
Hi, John! Have you done dancin' lately?
Took the weekend off. Will be dancing tomorrow.
-
Gratuitous post No. 100!
-
What kind of dancin' ya gonna do?
-
Swing and country, probably two-step. I help a friend teach.

Jane, neither of the trailers I saw grabbed me, either. The 60s aren't my favorite era. But the show is from the creators of the original show and they've shown that they are very capable.
It's interesting that Acorn has been so quiet about this. I receive several emails from them every week, yet had heard nothing about the movie since the crowdfunding a couple years ago. I'd assumed that it wasn't happening. I'm glad it's a reality and will look forward to it.
-
I've started watching The Bookshop. I don't love it as I thought I would. I like the cast, but I don't like Patricia Clarkson as a villain.
-
It's past bed time.
-
Good night, all.
-

Sounds like John G had a nontraditional, but very yummy, Easter.

Good night.

Oh, I meant to ask TCB: is your new condo the first property you've owned?
-
Good night 2.
-
Good evening
-
I passed your birthday wishes to Sandra, and she thanks you all very much.
-
I'm up, I'm up - oh, wait...
-
That's pretty cool, Jane.
Have you been to that part of Washington?
-
It was a plaesure not taking I-5.
-

They sound delicious.

Finished with my viewing, and then was on the Tube of You looking for something and I found the PBS Dance in America special on Bob Fosse. And there you see it instantly - everything that's wrong with Sam Rockwell's performance. Yes, he's got the voice pretty okay, but he plays it so low-key and without any energy at all - none - typical today actor bull pucky. Then you watch Fosse - yes, soft spoke, but a spark, inner energy, spoke so you could understand him, and you can't take your eyes off him. AND he has a sense of HUMOR. Sorry, Rockwell doesn't understand it at all.
-
I am crashing.
-
'night.
-
Hi, Jane and BK.
-
'night.
Good night, Jane.
-
Tonight, CNN had five hours of town halls with five Democrats running for president.
-
The five were Amy Klobuchar, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Kamala Harris, and Pete Buttigieg.
-
I watched online parts of the Amy Klobuchar and Elizabeth Warren segments when I was still at work.
-
I recorded all five hours.
-
I'm now watching Pete Buttigieg's hour.
-
Listening to music and will write notes in about thirty minutes.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I've been strong and have not eaten any other food since Popeye's. Must be strong.
-
Must figure out the rest of the week's meals and have to stick to it. Not always easy, but I will DO it.
-
Hello.
-
Must figure out the rest of the week's meals and have to stick to it. Not always easy, but I will DO it.
BK, why don’t you start jogging again? You always seem to lose weight when you jog.
-
Oh, I meant to ask TCB: is your new condo the first property you've owned?
Actually, no. I own my burial plot. It is right next door to my mom’s property.
-
Other than that, this is the first property I have bought, if I buy it.
-
BK, do you get Popeye’s regular chicken, or their spicy?
-
I have only had their regular chicken, and I thought it was very bland. I am wondering if I would like their spicy chicken. I like spice as long as it isn’t too spicy.
-
T.O.D.
The duet of “One Less Bell To Answer/A House Is Not a Home” between Barbra Streisand & Barbra Streisand.
Judy Garland’s “The Man That Got Away.”
-
I get Popeye's mild. Don't care for the spicy.
-
Good night.
-
I was jogging last year, but it's really hard at my age.
-
How about power walking, Kimmel?
