Well, you've read the notes, the notes were lax, and now it is time for you to post until the lax cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: TINTINNABULATION!
-
First post after BK!
-
Does anyone have one of these new-fangled HD antenna things to bring in channels - there are a lot of different ones and they're all pretty inexpensive.

Does anyone have one of these new-fangled HD antenna things to bring in channels - there are a lot of different ones and they're all pretty inexpensive.
I tried one of those things a few years ago, but I couldn't get it to work, so I took it back to the store. :-\
-
And the word of the day is: TINTINNABULATION!
This word always reminds me of A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum because there's a character named Tintinabula.
-
Well, I suppose I should get some sleep before I have to get up in the morning.
Good night, and have a good day, all!
-
Good morning, all!
-
Well, I still feel like garbage: headaches, eyeball aches, sinuses clogged, and a fever! I thought I was dying last night. This morning, it's a mild and constant throbbing, and I hope the Tylenol and allergy meds kick in soon.
-
About the Word ofr the Day: it's Latin based, from the verb tinnio, to ring.
A Funny Thing Happend on the Way To The Forum's Tintinabula is named because of all the bells on her costume.
When we sang Christmas songs in Latin, the refrain to "Jingle Bells" went:
Tinniat, tinniat tintinnabulum
Labimur in glacie post mulum curtum!
-
DR Laura, do not forget that I've had Thatch for about a year and a half now, and he was terrified of me the first year, friendlier after that, and now I think he loves me in his neurotic way. Leonard is still finding his way, but he will never be Joshie.
-
Let us pray there is a check today or reliable information on its whereabouts.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Good morning!
-
I wonder if I’ll be the last musically oriented person in the room to have heard anything by Arvo Part. I knew the name, but off the top of my head I don’t believe I’m familiar with any of his work.
-
Good morning
-
Strong vibes for an immediate recovery — (and an immediate check!) — for DR Elmore.
How are you two getting to New Paltz? I would ordinarily offer to meet y’all somewhere and be your driver for the upstate portion of the journey since that’s next to my beaten path and I always enjoy driving around that region. I’m sure you have all of that covered, but the offer would have been there. It’s just that having another op’nin’ tomorrow, I need to avoid tempting the fates and stay put in my general area.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I can’t remember being scared by much of anything product-wise as a kid. Now, some of the dishes Mom prepared ... that’s another story.
-
George, to answer your question: Yes, Sing Out came with the Drake set. It’s the first chance I’ve had to give any part a listen.
-
In continuing to ketchup on yesterday’s posts, I finally have the opportunity to look at DR Elmore’s link to the new vocal score.
Congratulations on the credit, sir!
And what a nice price for a 550-page score.
Not to mention ..... oh my, City Opera and Emerson Buckley!
Does a recording exist?
-
Yesterday’s rehearsal, again, went pretty well. Final dress this afternoon.

There is a bootleg of a City Opera performance. In the Moross Collection at Columbia, there are LP recordings of a City Opera performance, but I have no idea how complete it is. If it's the source for the bootleg, there are two missing sequences from Act Two: The opening and "Mr Brady Takes A Photograph," which explains how Mr Brady took no photos of Lincoln delivering the Gettysburg Address.
The City Opera performance materials have two t of cuts: those Moross clearly approved and finalized in his full scores and cuts made for performance that he agreed to but did not necessarily want to become finalized.
-
I have no idea what time we are leaving tomorrow morning, but we need to ne at the theatre dept. by 10:30. We'll take the train to Poughkeepsie and then taxi or bus to New Paltz.
-
Annabelle's congested again. As soon as that damned check arrives, she and Thatch see the vet.
-
Well, I still feel like garbage: headaches, eyeball aches, sinuses clogged, and a fever! I thought I was dying last night. This morning, it's a mild and constant throbbing, and I hope the Tylenol and allergy meds kick in soon.
Have you tried sleeping elevated?
-
No more congested vibes for DC Annabelle!

BK, Susanna says Amazon's harder to deal with now that CreateSpace has primarily gone Kindle.

Many ex-lax days for MR BK.

Page Two congrats to DR ELMORE on the publication of his credit.

Let’s move on ...

Many ex-lax days for MR BK.
Ha!
-
AHHHH......I used Arvo Part's Spiegel Im Spiegel for the penultimate scene in The Bad Seed a few seasons ago.
It played as Christine read The Five Little Peppers to Rhoda and then gave her the sleeping pills, put her to bed....and then used a gun on herself......the music stopped abruptly with the gunshot.....it was most effective.

No.
I find it helps my allergies. The level of elevation depends how bad I am feeling.
-
Hey all... so tell me, what have I missed?
-
Joshie and I made our plans for tomorrow morning. I must be out of bed by 5:30 to meet him at Penn Station at 7:45. I also finished the 2nd edit of the orchestra parts for How To Succeed . . . and I must step out for some allergy medications.

That's great! In college I took a class on how to pronounce Latin (and Italian and German and French). A friend of mine also in the class gave me the lyrics to "Popeye the Sailor Man" in Latin that her dad had actually translated when he was in college! :D

No, you won't be. ::) I've never even heard of him before BK's mentioning.

Hopefully, I'll have a chance to listen to mine today.

I was wondering about a recording, also. And when I was looking at the Amazon link, I clicked on Jerome Moross' Author page (https://www.amazon.com/s?i=stripbooks&rh=p_27%3AJerome+Moross&s=relevancerank&text=Jerome+Moross&ref=dp_byline_sr_book_1) and saw another vocal score, Ballet Ballads: A Musical in 4 Acts (https://www.amazon.com/dp/1718893302/), which was also "Edited by Larry Moore." ;D

Yep. I've edited all three of Jerome Moross' major theatre pieces. I believe the only one i've not touched is the 1930s revue Parade.

I'm up, I'm up - I think maybe nine hours of sleep. Very groggy, though.

I've only actually used CreateSpace once, for the script of Welcome to My World. It took me a long time to get it to look right, but it's fine.

To add to my check anxiety, Annabelle has vanished, I'm sure she's in the apartment somewhere, since she's always finding new hideouts. I'm a bit concerned because she's not responding to my calls and I want to know she's okay. She's missing dinner, and Thatch will eat hers as soon as he finishes his.

The Streets of New York (http://www.kritzerland.com/streets_ny.htm) and Laurette/Rashomon/Death of a Salesman (http://www.kritzerland.com/trio.htm) have arrived in Tumwater! I'm listening to The Streets of New York right now.
-
Just listened to the tintinnabulistic Symphony No. 4 Los Angeles from Pärt. Lovely, dreamy music.

Sorry it took so long, Tom.

Pretty kitty.

Nicky!!
Hello DR MATTHEW.....you haven't missed it yet.
-
Raining today.
-
Raining today.
We get it tomorrow.
-
Well, I just sorta wrapped up a pretty busy “first 4 months” of the year. Spring break came and the sun came out (Literally) and I finally find myself with time to hang with my boys, clean my apartment, watch tv and do laundry. I have a show opening tomorrow, it’s a variety show with 28 numbers. I stretched my pretty non-existent arrangement skills to arrange the band (keys, bass, guitar, drums, 1 Reed, trumpet and trombone). Thank goodness for Sibelius and the iPad Pro and Apple Pencil - and the original charts for Sing Sing Sing.
Other than that, it’s business as usual here in the Bay Area.
-

Awww, thank you.

DR Matthew good vibes on your show tomorrow!
-
I am waiting for news that DC Annabelle has emerged from her hiding place.
-
She has, and I think it might be behind the refrigerator. She just suddenly appeared while I was playing with Thatch.

Good afternoon.
-
So glad Annabelle showed up. Once when my DH and I were out of town, Sandra called all upset because she looked everywhere and couldn't find Rex. I almost had to come home, she was so upset. Then he just sauntered out of ... somewhere.
-
Nicky is very handsome. I have an all gray longhaired ex-tom who lives in the backyard. His name is Gray Tom.
-
For the Part curious, symphony three is on YouTube, hopefully in the new Neeme Jarvi version - start there - it's very appealing but so is the fourth.
-
Had Taco Bell for lunch - 1,030 calories. May have some fruit later, but then again I may not.
-
Picked up some packages.
-
I am glad Annabelle finally decided to play with Thatch.
-
Here is the artwork for my play that will have its premiere June 17th in Fort Lauderdale.
-
Bosco, our tortie & white, was only 5 weeks old when we took her home. She would curl up and nap in plain sight, only she blended in with the background and we had a very difficult time seeing her. There were a number of scares and then lots of laughter once one of us spotted her.
-
Nice DR Michael.
-
I am glad Annabelle finally decided to play with Thatch.
She didn't. I was playing with Thatch.
-
Nicky is so beautiful!
-
I had a cat that disappeared in the house. Searched everywhere, finally gave up and went to change my clothes. Pulled open a dresser drawer and found her sound asleep on the clothes in the drawer. Still have no idea how she got in there.

I guess I was thinking she wanted to play with Thatch because you were.

"Today’s topic of discussion: When you were a child, what products gave you the willies or scared you?"
Shrimp with the head still on.

and that still bothered me last time we went to London.

It did not help to hear that sucking the liquid from the head of the shrimp is a British delicacy.

Starting to watch Green Book. I'm enjoying parts of it. Viggo's character is a little too deplorable, which will hopefully make the transformation better.
-
But I'm fading fast. Doubt I'll make it to the halfway point.
-
Good night, all.

One more post ...

Growing up my fair skin spent too much time in the sun playing in the water or playing sports.
-
We watched the first episode of season 5 of BOSCH.
-
I am crashing..
-
I just finished watching the season finale to The Orville.
-
I watched a dreadful movie on the Flix of Net and am now listening to music. I haven't eaten any other food this evening - I'm kind of hungry, but, oh well, too late to get any fruit even.
-
Good evening.
-
John Singleton is now in a coma after suffering a massive stroke.
-
Tomorrow is suppose to be another nice day, before the rain returns on Saturday.
-
But if anyone from out of state asks, we have had non-stop rain all month.
-
And May is going to be worse.
-
Listening to music - from the pastoral, beautiful music of George Dyson to Schoenberg's piano concerto - THAT is a big jump.
