Well, you've read the notes, the notes didn't disappear, and now it is time for you to post until the disappearing cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: MALAPERT!
-
First post after BK.
-
Second post after BK.
-
Topic of the Day:
#1: The Carol Burnett Show!
-
TOD Also Carol Burnett.
Sonny and Cher Show.
-
T.O.D.
i loved all of the variety shows in the 50’s, 60’s, and 70’s.
ANDY WILLIAMS
PERRY COMO
HOLLYWOOD PALACE
DINAH SHORE
CAROL BURNETT
RED SKELTON
DEAN MARTIN
DONNY AND MARIE
THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS
and the ultimate Variety show, THE ED SULLIVAN SHOW.
-
DANNY KAYE
THE GARY MOORE SHOW
HIT PARADE
-
I agree, Tom! They were all great. Too bad we don't have any good ones today.
-
We should have had THE BRUCE KIMMEL HOUR.
-
Is anyone gonna watch the Tonys Sunday.
-
Or, at least, THE GUY HAINES HALF HOUR.
-
I won’t have television service on Sunday.
-
Or internet service.
-
I suppose I could go park in the McDonald’s parking lot with my iPad and find out the winners.
-
The Guy Haines Show wouldn't work too well seeing nothing but the hosts back.
-
I also wish that THE TONYS was broadcast live on the Left Coast.
-
Do you know anything about the nominees?
-

I remember watching DEAN MARTIN, DONNY AND MARIE and THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS when I was a kid. I also remember LAUGH-IN!
-
We should have had THE BRUCE KIMMEL HOUR.
That would've been great!
-
Is anyone gonna watch the Tonys Sunday.
I'll be watching and recording!
-
TLT is hosting a showing of THE TONYS, live, on a big screen Sunday night.
-
Do you know anything about the nominees?
No, but I new very little about the nominees back when I was growing up, but I would never miss watching THE TONYS. It was my one brush with Broadway each year.
-
What I would really like to see is the special award being given honoring Marin Mazzie.
-
I only watch for musical numbers they show.
-
This year I am more interested in the numbers from the revivals than the new shows.
-
Well, it is time. Good night, jan.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom.

That would be cool...but I'd want to be home for it.

PAGE TWO DANCE!!
-
What I would really like to see is the special award being given honoring Marin Mazzie.
I hope that it's broadcast...but probably only very short excerpts will be. Playbill.com has an article HERE (http://www.playbill.com/article/watch-jason-danieley-accepts-the-late-marin-mazzies-special-tony-award) with videos of the acceptance speeches of the special Tony Awards that were given.
-
I only watch for musical numbers they show.
Those are the best parts!
-
And now, I need to sleep.
Have a good day, all!
-
I shall have to get my Tony fix here.
-
Good morning, all!
-
Another poor night of sleep, but my faithful Thatch stayed by my side. Stella started crying around 6:00, so I let her out of her cage, but after ten minutes of her romping all over me and the bed, I figured I'd get dressed and feed them.
-
I have some housekeeping to take care of. I must change the lights in the kitchen ceiling fixture and assemble my new - at last! - vacuum cleaner.
-
Tonight I am seeing The Ferryman with Susanna Moross Tarjan. I'm sorry I missed the original London cast while they were with the show because of my financial crunch, but I am hoping that Paddy Considine wins the Best Actor Tony. He's one of my favorite actors and In America is one of my favorite films. I also liked him in The Suspicions of Mr Wicher.
-
I swear I do not know which is worse, Donald Trump's zombie voice or his ability to read from a teleprompter and make it sound like a first grader reading "Look, Dick . . . Look . . . Sally . . . see . . . Jane."
So much for his D-Day ceremony.
-
Good morning, all.
-
The ones we regularly watched would include:
ED SULLIVAN
JACKIE GLEASON
RED SKELTON
PERRY COMO
DINAH SHORE
CAROL BURNETT
ANDY WILLIAMS
DEAN MARTIN
And God, wouldn’t I love to have those days back.
-
JACK BENNY
BING CROSBY
-
My vacuum cleaner arrived in a huge Amazon carton, and I cannot keep Annabelle and Stella out of it long enough to drag it out of the apartment.
-
It's not your box anymore, DR Elmore.
-
In fact, maybe it never was.
-
ED SULLIVAN
RED SKELTON
PERRY COMO
THE GARY MOORE SHOW
HIT PARADE
HOLLYWOOD PALACE
DINAH SHORE
CAROL BURNETT
RED SKELTON
MILTON BERLE
BELL TELEPHONE HOUR
I missed most of the programs between 1964 and 1970 because of college and grad school and most of the shows between 1971 and 1979 because I was working or terrorizing the neighborhoods I inhabited. I was never a Jackie Gleason fan and I have absolutely no memory of a Danny Kaye show.
-
It's not your box anymore, DR Elmore.
It will be as soon as I get it into the hall.
-
DR Jan, Toquerville looks beautiful. When are you going?
-
TCB may you be very pleased with your new washer and dryer. What style did you go with?
-
Jan, I hope John's problem is small. I figured Vegas is the best airport and they are saving you from a small jumper flight or renting a car to get to them.
-
Tom do you have a smart phone? One thing I like about mine is the "hotspot" option so I can connect my tablet to my phone to use away from home.
-
Good morning!
-
Such great photos from his show from DR ELMORE yesterday! What fun!
-
This is my last day in Western NY. My siblings and their spouses and I are going to the Original Pancake House shortly.
-
Today is Thursday and SHE LOVES ME is opening.....I will be selling tickets and then cleaning the theatre after the performance...and then I am OFF for a couple of days....except that my season tickets to SEE the show are on Saturday.
-
Congrats to DR JEANNE on her tax solution.
-
Wasn't Mrs Malapert a character is a famous play?
-
Wasn't Mrs Malapert a character is a famous play?
Sorta! ;)
-
The new vacuum cleaner is assembled, and the detritus removed to the basement. Stella tried to help me, but her reading of the directions was so poor, I told her to play with all the gadgets and let me work in peace. Annabelle and Thatch wisely kept out of the way.
-
Next up: the kitchen ceiling light. Where is a super when you need one?
-
Page 3 Dance!
-

Really. It looked wonderful.
-
Shirley Jones will be a presenter at the Tony Awards and introduce the cast of the OKLAHOMA! revival......
-
Light bulbs taken care of, Next stop, the bank.
-
Good morning, all.

TOD: The Carol Burnett Show, by far.
-
Enjoy The Ferryman, DR elmore!
-
Tom do you have a smart phone? One thing I like about mine is the "hotspot" option so I can connect my tablet to my phone to use away from home.
It's a very convenient option, but of course, that eats up your data like you wouldn't believe. ::)

My apologies for being E&T after trying hard to stick around for more than 48 hours. In a nutshell (peanut) - tomorrow is the last day of school - and the days leading up to tomorrow have been packed with things to do.. On Sunday after church, I'll be on a plane to Disneyland for a few days. It's a solo trip, I'll be posting some video updates on the Instagram, so if you'd like to follow - you can follow me at "benandleospapa" I will also try and check in here, but I won't have computer access unless I bring an iPad, which I'm still not sure if I am.
-
And, George, how could we forget The Manhattan Transfer’s four-week summer replacement variety show?
-
Other than that, I'll be back on Wednesday, and then on Monday start my summer employment. A 5 week musical theatre conservatory program for grades 5-12. In the morning I'll be doing a vocal workshop, where I will also include musical theatre history because these kids don't know anything about musical theatre before Wicked except for maybe Rent. We'll start at Show Boat and work our way down the river LOL - oh, and in the afternoon, we'll be working on a production of Footloose - one of my faves.
-
Show Boat to Footloose. Thinking about that.
The summer program sounds good.

I'm up, I'm up - nine and a half hours of sleep. I woke up before eleven but went right back to sleep until around one-twenty. I didn't fall asleep until after four.
-
Went to the Westfield mall food court with Grant and had a Philly cheesesteak sandwich.
-
A friend working in Portland called last night and said she is in town. We are expecting her soon. The plan was for a nice walk & dinner. Darn that rain. We shall still have a nice time. I just hope she is here soon and doesn't end of stuck in traffic.

Has anybody had a problem logging into any of their Amazon accounts (e.g. Amazon, ACX, Kindle) today?
On all three of my accounts, I was informed that my password, which I had not changed, was invalid.
I had to do a new password to get access.

I haven't had any trouble with Amazon today.
-
Well, it's time for me to leave work. I need to go to Costco for some things, then my sister wants me to come over for a little bit, then I'll get to go home.
Be back later.
-
Heads up!
I don’t know when this deal started, maybe just today, but newspapers.com is FREE — including for the premium papers — now through Sunday night.
Just tested it on one search. Wonderful! OMG, I need this. It is not very convenient on the iPad, but just let me at it starting tomorrow when I’m at my desk and I can really navigate through it. Hoo boy!

Hello
-
Sunday my mom started complaining that her garage door opener wasn't working properly so Vuxdad went over to see what was what
-
What was what was the garage opener is sticking halfway open and making loud grinding noises
-
So we told her to leave her car outside and don't use the garage door
-
I asked if if she wanted to go with me to Home Depot to get a quote but she wanted to talk to my little brother ( the font of all knowledge....if I told her that breathing was a good idea she would check with him first before she took a breath)
-
So Monday she lets me know that she and my brother now agree that she needs a new opener (since it's probably about 35 years old) and that I should go get quotes
-
To be fair to my brother you should know he lives in Virginia so he's not exactly in a postion to do it himself
-
So I go to Home Depot and I get a very reasonable quote but instead of just handing over my credit card I decide I must get a second quote from Lowes
-
By time we got there all the quote people were gone
-
Tuesday they were gone as well
-
Yesterday I decided just to go with a Home Depot's quote...just as I was walking in the door my mom calls and says I need you to come over, the door hit me and I can't stop bleeding
-
Imaging all sorts of horrors I zipped over....fortunately I was only 2 miles away
-
It turns out the doohickey that is supposed to hold the heavy glass and aluminum front storm door open failed as she was walking in the door and the latch hit her in the right forearm
-
Mom is 87 in a month and has always been the fragile sort...look at her crooked and she is a mass of bruises
-
vixmim, you sure do know how to tell a story- but hope she wasn't hurt too badly.
-
Well it looked like someone had taken a filet knife to her arm...there was a three quarters of a circle flap of skin about 6 inches wide hanging loose
-
She wanted me to bandage her because she couldn't manage with her left hand.... I wrapped her up and over her protests took her to urgent care
-
We arrived and walked into a full waiting room ....
-
I walked mom to the desk said this is my Mim she's 87 and lifted the wrapping
-
We went right in and the doctor and nurse were in room before I got her up on the bed
-

On all three of my accounts, I was informed that my password, which I had not changed, was invalid.
I had to do a new password to get access.
I had a spam email yesterday saying that my apple account had been hacked. But I noticed that the email it came from was some hoax.
-
Mom used to be 5'4 but she's been shrinking and now she's just a shade under5 foot
-
I haven't been able to read HHW the past few days. Blackberry has also limited some section of newspapers, even a couple of pay papers.
-
The dr said she couldn't be stitched because the skin was too thin so he used some kind of surgical tapes to secure the Giap back down and then wrapped her arm
-
I wonder if after years of still supporting (sort of and grudgingly) the Blackberry, Verizon Wireless would like to finally stop all those many grandfathered accounts, who have held on because of some grandfathered terms, and maybe they are trying an unusual way of doing that.
-
Or maybe not.
-
He told her to come back every day and he would change her dressings for free
-
The free part appealed greatly to her
-
Vibes for Vixmom's mom.
-
Just read that filming has begun on In the Heights. I'm looking forward to that one.
-
Has anyone seen Rocketman yet?
-
She did mention once or twice or 18 times that if I hadn't told her not to use the garage door this never would have happened
-
Of corse the garage leads right into the house so if the door gets stuck open it's "Hello Burglars, it's open house"
-
I went back to home Dept and the person I talked to on Monday had gone on vacation
-
The person there now quoted me $200 more fr the self same thing
-
So. Left and went back today at lunchtime when I met someone else who got the same price as the first person but coukd figure out how to print the order... and I had to get back to work
-
Finally tonight I managed to get the damn opener and installation ordered and paid for
-
Still have to get a hairdresser for the wedding...which is in 23 days
-

I'm nearing the end of Les Mis. One of the things I just realized is that no matter how much time has passed, the Jean Valjean and Javert do not age. They didn't try adding gray hair, nothing.
-
23 days, Vixmom. That has to be exciting. And scary. But exciting.
-
Home from The Ferryman. I liked it, and I hope Paddy Considine wins the Best Actor Tony for it.

I've read nothing but raves.

Six!
-
Good night, all.
-
Whilst at the mall I went to See's and got some Almond Royals - love them and boy are they addictive.
-
Had a salad from Gelson's for my evening snack.
-
And had fun with Donald doing the radio show.
-
Page six? Really?
-
Shouldn't we be on page FIFTY-six?
-
If wishes were horses.

If horses were wishes.
-
If only I could stop eating Almond Royals

Where in tarnation did everyone get to?

I just found out that I comic strip that I used to love and read in the mid 2000s, Get Fuzzy (https://www.gocomics.com/getfuzzy/1999/09/06), actually ended in 2013. :-\
-
I don't know why, but I stopped reading it before 2010 or so.
