Well, you've read the notes, the notes purged, and now it is time for you to post until the purged cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: ONEIRIC!
-
And now - Dino at the piano.
-
First post after BK.
-
From last night:
How was the show tonight?
It was pretty good. I know the author, the director, and two of the actors. :)
-
Doesn’t Dino ever get tired of all these midnight gigs?

Maybe it's a cover for some other nefarious activity. ::)

Did they have a nice house?
-
Wasn’t jan here earlier? Is she still not feeling well?
-
Good night, George.
-
Maybe Dino wants to have a private talk with one of you two.

It was warm here today, but not horribly so.

Monday and Tuesday were 105 but today was low 80's, high 70's so relief! Had to get my teeth cleaned today, such excitement!
-
It's late so Bon Nuit, Lovie. Cuddles to you and Neve.

I had a dental appointment at the end of last month, and today I have a check-up with my (medical) doctor.

Thanks, and good night to you, jan.
-
Well, I need to go to sleep now, too. I want to get to work a little early so that I can make up some time that I took off earlier in the week.
Have a good day, all!
-
Delayed thank you JRand68 and George for the compliments on the cabaret photos (I enjoy photographing performers) Thanks George for the congrats to Alexa. A fun time was had by all, twice!
Yesterday Alexa & her twin turned 18, shockingly! :D Empty nest around the corner.
Enjoy your week, all.
PS - my condolences to those dealing with dental woes. I relate :-X.

BTW one of my favorite songs in A CABARET LINE at the Group Rep was "The Mom Song". I had long ago heard it on YouTube, sung by Anita Renfroe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RxT5NwQUtVM
Kristin, the gal who performed it in the cabaret, is tiny but mighty, and drew big laughs from the crowd.

Good morning, all!
-
Annabelle's not eating again. She won't talk about it.
-
I had a little bit of work to help Joshie out yesterday, so this morning I'll talk through my thoughts with him around 10:00. I also have to proofread the new concert score for "Lazy Afternoon" today and type up my notes for my copyist Scott.
-
And I will wait for a UPS delivery.
-
Stella and Thatch played too exuberantly last night, and this morning I need to vacuum all of the spilled dry food and refill the dishes, along with the usual tidy-the-kitty-toys and the litter.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Some early morning posting frenzy today.
-
Nice to wake up to it.
-
Must get to work.
-
And where the hell IS my IPod?!!!
-
Annabelle seemed bored on today's patrol. She and Thatch are waiting for hte pigeons to show up on the fire escape.
-
I could have sworn I bought new sandals at the end of last summer
-
So where are they?!
-
And where the hell IS my IPod?!!!
Where you left it!
-
Why didn't the dishwasher run last night?!

This is a good moment to run to the corner bodega for a few items.

Dead tired this morning, so right about now I’m thankful that it’s a free day and evening for me.

Can’t even imagine being vixmom. How does she do it???

I need a garage purge. A whole house purge, actually. Will someone please come and do it? Thanks.

Good morning!

DR Vixmom, I hope everything goes great with the wedding! You seem quite crazed right now. :)

You are welcome DR JANE. Those are great pictures!

Mars is opposing Saturn today:
Has your career been on your mind lately? Unfortunately, even if everything’s been going great, today’s opposition between mismatched Mars in emotional Cancer and powerful Saturn in serious Capricorn has you mainly focused on your job’s negative aspects.
Getting some bad news could make the situation at work seem even worse, and it could all turn into a downward spiral from there. To say this day is challenging might be an understatement, so making sudden or irreversible career-related decisions isn’t a good idea.

Friday morning greetings! Today I'm having my hair cut, visiting a DAR friend, and shopping for our Father's Day dinner. It's a beautiful day to be out and about in my new car.

I used to get it, now I don't celebrate the holiday. Not as much fun, not as stressful or exhausting.

Today we are finally getting the 1st in the two series new shingle vaccination. I hope we don't have a reaction to it. I have known a few people who were rather sick.
-
Joshie is happy to be over his harmonic problems and "Lazy Afternoon" is proofread. I have to write up my notes for Scott.
-
I'm up, I'm up - maybe seven hours of sleep. Garage purge part two is happening at ten-thirty.

Secret Life of Bees got raves from everyone but Jesse Green, who may be the most ignorant reviewer in the business today. His review was laughable, calling the novel a weighty tome. I think I read it in less than two hours on a stalled plane.

Secret Life of Bees got raves from everyone but Jesse Green, who may be the most ignorant reviewer in the business today. His review was laughable, calling the novel a weighty tome. I think I read it in less than two hours on a stalled plane.
I remember now. I was in Dallas and we waited aboard the plane for several hours. It was a Sunday morning. When the crew went to open the luggage bin, they discovered that a swarm of bees had created a hive on the door to the bin. They had to get a beekeeper out to remove the hive. He was in church at the time. I thought, how appropriate for that to happen while I was reading that book.
-
Finicky cats! Tonight, neither Thatch nor Annabelle would eat their chicken. I checked Annabelle's nose and her right nostril was clogged with snot so I washed it out with warm water and a cotton ball. She still wouldn't eat, so I offered her some Purina Party Mix and she ate. I put the chicken down in front of her and then she ate it. Thatch refused to touch the chicken until I put some Bonito flakes on it. He and Stella are eating these flakes like potato chips.
-
Stella is doing what Thatch used to do: eating everything not bolted down.
-
Annabelle's not eating again. She won't talk about it.

Chapter 32 of Lorna Doone and the narrator says, “I am very slow.”
I’ll say. 38 chapters to go.

Back from a breakfast burrito and picking up one package - from the Darling Daughter for Father's Day. It's a little figuring with a bouncing head that's a replica of me, opening his shirt to reveal a Superman "S". Her card said that I've always been a Superman to her.

Nice gift MR BK.

I never thought of such a thing DR JANE, but of course they would sit much lower in the water.....never entered my mind. But then again I don't see many boats on land.

Nice weather today....rain and storms starting tomorrow night and lasting through Sunday....but that's okay. It's nice to home on a Friday night.

I do not need a house purge

I just need a bigger house

If any of you care to purchase that for me I promise a dedicated guest room whenever you wish to visit

So far this is our third sighting of a boat on land. I was surprised last time how much shorter the large yacht looked after it was in the water.
-
While it is sad the yacht company is leaving us I hope to see ships in the future as the military will be building on there instead.

Darn. It seems someone could step up for both of you.

The extremely young woman who gave us our vaccinations today but be new to the job. It was an interesting experience. She slowing marked the spot to use the alcohol wipe on, then slowly used the wipe, then tapped lightly a few times with the needle before slowly pushing it in. It was actually very gentle and seemed easy, until the liquid slowly made our arms hurt. Unusual was that they liquid continued to increase in pain for a while before stopping.
-
For several hours we had no pain at all and then began to feel it. Just the usual sore arm pain after a vaccination. We have had worse.
-
So far that is the only reaction. Fingers crossed there isn't a true reaction as others have had.
-
I do have a little headache, but then our favorite bar tender at Beaches was making the drinks so I joined Keith & had a Rye Manhattan. It was delicious.
-
We did garage purge two - three will happen on Monday morning. Tomorrow, I organize all the Kritzerland sheet music books.
-
I brought in quite a few homegrown DVD things, including the never-released Jersey Men show with Kevin Spirtas and Sean McDermott. I may YouTube a couple of clips if I can figure out how to make clips.
-
I dozed off for an hour.
-
Then I watched the 1954 Academy Awards - folks, they used to know how to do that show really well and amusingly the entire thing, allowing for the six commercial breaks, lasted well under two hours.
-
And then I watched the beautiful DVD former dear reader Amy made with all of you dear, dear people out there in the dark - my 60th birthday DVD. It was really emotional, I have to say, due to all the loss that's represented in that video - not only the loss of the departed shown in stills and present in voice - Kerry, Nick Redman, Susan Gordon - but the loss of so many dear readers in this past eleven years, and that includes dear Edisaurus, Jeffrey Kauffman, Cillaliz, Singdaw, MattH, dear reader Sandra, Lyn, Jose, Noel, Rodzinski, Ann and Jed, der Brucer, Cason and him mom, Karen, Pogue, and on and on and on. Some decided Facebook was somehow a better home than here, some ran away for reasons that still elude me, some for political reasons (unnecessary), and some for reasons unknown. Thankfully, we've gotten wonderful new dear readers, and thankfully we've still got many of our original group, but I miss some of those folks. Since my 70th came and went without much ado, perhaps sometime before my 80th, should I be so lucky as to make that number, we can have a little haineshisway.com reunion and get these people back where they belong. Facebook, in case you haven't noticed, is a cesspool. Facebook itself is disgusting in the way they manipulate everything, but it's all political, it's all fake, it's all memes, it's all BS all the time. Here we have genuine camaraderie, oh, yes, here we have genuine camaraderie.

Well, Jane just reached a millstone! I'm sorry that I wasn't here to capture the moment when she was on-line, but here is the after-the-fact moment:
-
And, through a bit of computer wizardry, here's what the moment would've looked like at the actual moment. ;)
-
And now, I must hie myself to home.
Be back later.
-
Congrats to Jane on your millstone.
(George - I never would have known the 90000 version wasn't the real milestone.)

Ushered tonight for a community theater production of a play that was better written than staged. The name doesn't matter. It's a locally written show about an liberal couple (a man played the wife, but we never found out if she were a man or a woman) entertaining a conservative couple for dinner. Their kids may be getting married. A comet or asteroid could be hitting earth. So, they discuss things like dadaism and alcoholism among dentists, the moral code of the universe with or without God, and fake red pistachios. Plus, the liberal couple had an audience watching their every move, so the fourth wall was broken more than once. It was fairly funny, but not all of the actors were up to the demands of the script.
-
Starting to watch a movie called Blaze about the country songwriter Blaze Foley. Ethan Hawke directed. It was not well-received in Austin because it's apparently as fictional as most biopics. So far, the best thing about it is Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development.

But slumber is calling. And tomorrow promises to be a long day.

Good evening.

Jane, I had the shot a couple months ago. You will probably feel achy and tired tomorrow. And your arm will hurt. It only lasted one day.

So I am trying to plan the second shot for when I have nothing to do the following day.

Good night, all.

Few people have birthdays like your 60th. It was fun being part of the surprise. It would be nice if many of those former DRs returned.
