Well, you've read the notes, the notes said ten-four, and now it is time for you to post until the ten-four cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: EPIPHONEMA!
-
First post after BK.
-
Topic of the Day: probably my most horrifying embarrassing moment was when I was in a musical revue that featured songs that won the Academy Award for Best Song. One of my songs was "Raindrops Keep Falling On My Head' from Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid. The music director/pianist started playing the song and I COMPLETELY went up on my lyrics! :o
-
I couldn't think of any of the words to save my life! I looked back at the pianist and he didn't give me anything...he just kept playing. The audience absolutely knew that I couldn't think of the words. I eventually started singing, but I started singing the second verse...but at least I was singing. I got through the second verse and fortunately had the presence of mind (finally) to sing the first verse second. I then got through the rest of the song and got sympathy applause from the audience. ;)
-
And that was very terrifying to me! FORTUNATELY, nothing that bad has happened to me since.
-
And now, to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
There was the time I met a former schoolmate at a party and in front of a group of people congratulated her on her pregnancy.....except she wasn't
-
Since that time, even should the woman actually be giving birth in front of me, I will not suggest that she may be pregnant unless she personally confides the fact
-
There was the time I was introducing my mother to someone and said Mom, this is "Mary Smith", Mary, this is my mother .............................................,...... Mommy
-
(After staring blankly at the woman who gave birth to me for what seemed like hours)
-
There were others but if you think I'm gonna post them here.........
-

Just dipped into a few videos, wow! I have to spend more time with Alma later
-
Also watched your Mary Mary Marries episode very funny
-
Good morning, all!
-
DR vixmom, I just heard on the news that the average cost of a New York wedding is $70,000! I hope Florida has good discounts.
-
And, DR vixmom, I never tell you often enough how wonderful I think you are.
-
It's a very gray day. There are not enough lamps in this apartment to brighten the day.
-
Last night was the Irish Rep's Gala, conducted by my friend John Bell, who's conducting the My Fair Lady revival at the moment, and orchestrations by Joshie. He called me around 6:00 to offer me an extra ticket he was given, but I turned him down because I was in the midst of taking care of the cats, dosing Annabelle, and trying to prepare dinner for myself. I couldn't have got to Town Hall by 6:45. I'm sorry I missed it. Last year's was wonderful.
-
So, Joshie asked me to come in tomorrow rather than today, so I will be home with the babies today. I have a bill to pay. a lot of vacuuming, and my usual kitty chores.
-
Last night Annabelle crawled into my lap for about an hour, so that made me quite happy, and some time during the night she took Thatch's place in bed and stayed with me all night. She still seems lethargic today. She's been lying in the window, and she did not eat again this morning.
-
Good morning, all.
-
It's a lethargic day, for sure. And yes, dark.
-
That's the John Bell I've met at Encores?
-
As I write this, five guys are out in my yard, trimming back our trees.
When they are done, I will not longer be living in Sherwood Forest. Robin Hood will need to find a new headquarters.
-
Son David and his lady came over last night and we went out to a belated Father's Day dinner.
He was out of town, doing a gig, on Sunday.
-
And that was very terrifying to me! FORTUNATELY, nothing that bad has happened to me since.
Fortunately.
-
There was the time I met a former schoolmate at a party and in front of a group of people congratulated her on her pregnancy.....except she wasn't
Oh no! It is easy at times to be confused if someone is pregnant or not.
-

Enjoy the sunlight.

I did indeed crash last night and slept 6.5 hours.
-
Healing vibes for DR ANNABELLE!
-
Yes MR BK will probably reach his unparalleled millstone today!
-
Glad to hear that the Important things keep arriving on time for MR BK.

My heat pump is working away.....and my home is nice and comfy and headed for 72 degrees......very nice.
Barnum is mad because I won't open his window. He can't hear the outside birds....but that's life.
-
TOD:
HA! I was the LAST person in the theatre....the very last....to know that my fly was open during the second scene of DIAL M FOR MURDER, which of course in our theatre circles is known as DIAL Z FOR ZIPPER....
And I was sitting in the house expressing my opinion of someone who was back in the rehearsal center....but I did not know that the overhead microphones were on and we were being broadcast .... into the rehearsal center.....
-
And that is as far as I go on that TOD.
-
Enjoy the vacation vibes for DR JOHN G. I think he said today was lamb chop day.

In the late 1980s I was with Ethan Mordden and Rebecca Luker at an Equity Library Theatre production of Harold Rome's Wish You Were Here, about young ladies looking for husbands in a summer camp in the Catskills. I don't like the show much, and the big title song has nothing to do with the story. It was the hit song from the camp's revue the tear before; shall I sing it for you? I was trying to be funny but way too bitchy and kept making derogatory comments about how awful the show was.
At each Equity Library show, the casts took a moment to make a pitch for donations to the theatre. After the pitch, one of the cast said "And we're excited about tonight's performance because the composer Harold Rome is here! Stand up, Mr Rome." He was sitting directly behind my chair, and I was mortified. I spent the second act telling Rebecca how ashamed I was of my behavior. When the audience started to leave, I was too embarrassed to get out of my seat until Harold Rome had left. Mr and Mrs Rome were sitting with Dorothy Rodgers, widow of Richard Rodgers. As she passed me, she put her hand on my shoulder, leaned down, and said, "Don't worry. He's deaf as a post." I will always love Dorothy Rodgers.

What a kind lady 😊
-
More good wishes for Annabelle.

Google calendar is down if you use it. We do.

Great story DR ELMORE......
-
Good afternoon!
-
Great story, DR elmore!
-
I'm up, I'm up - over eight hours of sleep.

I just checked out the DVD of her Cinderella from the library! I haven't watched it yet, but I'm looking forward to seeing it very soonly!
-

:))
-
I was bowled over by this young girl. I mean, orchestrating a violin concerto at nine? We're all slackers! :) Her piano concerto is lovely and she is so in love with music it's palpable.

This production was sponsored by my old employer, The Packard Humanities Institute. The last time David Packard contacted me, it was to ask about a venue in New York for the production. I suggested the Brooklyn Academy of Music and never heard from him again.
-
I'll probably get that Cinderella thing.
-
Speechless.
But before I shut up...
I would like to hereby offer my apologies... to my family, my friends, and to the world at large... for existing for all of these years, and for having accomplished: nothing. :)
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! I had a mani/pedi this morning and have spent the afternoon packing for ALA/DAR.
-
Here are two different video clips of Alma improvising piano pieces from someone pulling four random notes out of a hat. Amazing doesn't even begin to describe them!

My Grandma Fannie would advise her "Honey, you can orchestrate that violin concerto after dinner. You'd be much better off taking an hour or so this afternoon to spend time with your friends. The piano concerto will still be there and you'll have some normal-kid time, too."

And you never play with that nice dollhouse you got for Christmas. Why can’t you give it a rest and just act NORMAL for once?

She makes a really bizarre mistake in the 60 Minutes one. The first note is a B-natural which she sings and plays correctly. But after she’s seen all four, she looks back at the B and sees/sings/plays a B-flat...and she never notices her error even with those notes there the whole time. The improvisation is great, but she’d already developed a blind spot with regard to that actual note.

Enjoyed your "Angie" appearance, BK!

And here's something for DRs George, TCB, and other pet lovers.

I was reading about her a few days ago. She was given a little piano as soon as she could walk and she started playing. She's also a violinist. Yes, incredible.

Vixmom is the bargain queen. I am confident she will stretch every dollar.

Yes, I'm sure we've all had times when we wondered, but didn't wish to say anything.

There was the time I was introducing my mother to someone and said Mom, this is "Mary Smith", Mary, this is my mother .............................................,...... Mommy
I was at a company Christmas party many years ago when a co-worker was introducing me to his wife, "and this is..." Pause. I tried to keep from snickering, but I knew what had happened. His wife did, too: "YOU FORGOT MY NAME!!" I knew they hadn't been on good terms and was surprised she even attended the party. God knows what was said later, privately.
-
Back from picking up a package, then a sandwich and side salad at Corky's. Transferring some cassettes right now.
-
I gotta tell you.
-
Listening to Jerome Moross' first symphony - it's just great. There's a not so hot modern recording on Koch with lousy sound and mediocre conductor - this one I'm hearing is a radio broadcast conducted by Alfred Wallenstein, probably the premiere performance. I may try to have it cleaned up. Also an old recording of Forget-Me-Not. No info on that one, though.
-
Twenty-nine posts until a milestone.
-
The Moross is very Copland-esque.
-
My most embarrassing incident was in high school. My friend Lulu (Lolo in the Kritzerland series) and I had gone horseback riding at a stable in Hollywood. I was wearing jeans. The riding path paralleled the Hollywood Freeway. Suddenly I felt a rrrrriiiiipp along my right leg. OMG. The next thing I knew it happened on my left leg as well. My jeans were still secured at my waist and at the ankles, but the long leg seams were GONE! And all those people were driving by and able to look at the girl who'd ripped her jeans!
-
The great thing about doing something very embarrassing in high school is that after that everything else is downhill. If you flub, well, it's not as bad as THAT time in high school.

Is this potentially a future Kritzerland release?

TTFN.

;D How tight were those jeans?

I haven’t posted anything embarrassing because even though all of our individual embarrassing moments are deadly and have the same half life as nuclear waste, you people already have me beat — in particular, vixmom and DR Elmore.
DR Elmore’s does remind me of a friend’s story for which I don’t possess the details, but it had something to do with him being at some Broadway event and standing in the aisle at intermission, telling his companion how, in spite of his love for Jerry Herman’s music and shows, he really thought Herman personally was an asshole... and there was Mr. Herman, on the aisle seat in the next row down.

Nice...except it's obvious that they have all shaved their chests. ::)

Well, this is really cool. Here is a one-hour BBC documentary on the writing and (original?) 2017 production of Alma's Cinderella that was performed in German (one of the people who spoke was listed as "Translator of Alma's Opera"): Alma Deutscher Finding Cinderella Imagine Summer 2017 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e8KNEqKp3Nw). They show several long clips of that production and also interviewed Simon Rattle. Very fascinating.
-
DR vixmom, I just heard on the news that the average cost of a New York wedding is $70,000! I hope Florida has good discounts.
The Vixter and her intended are very well grounded and practical people. They would have gone with pizzas and music on the IPOD. We persuaded them to be a little more fancifued.
Even so the wedding is a tiny fraction of the price you mentioned
-
And, DR vixmom, I never tell you often enough how wonderful I think you are.
Right back atcha! :-*
-
Jeanne will be at a nice round posting total with one more post
-
I have things I should be doing
-
Sorting
-
Folding
-
Packing
-
Laundering
-
Instead I am loafing
-
But then one must have tea after dinner
-
And let ones supper settle
-
Dinner tonight was salad
-
With minced onions, thinly sliced cucumbers well seasoned with Penzeys Sunny Paris blend
-
Slivered red, yellow and orange mini sweet pepper
-
Cherry tomatoes for Vixdad
-
And Vidalia tomato dressing
-
And sliced grilled chicken
-
I gotta tell you.
-
I, for one, am for one I.
-
Not sure what I want to watch this evening.
-
Twenty-four posts to a milestone - it WILL happen this very evening.
-
By hook or by crook or by crook or by hook.
-
I'm up, I'm up.
-
The animal pictures in the calendar are adorable. The firefighters.......................YUM.
-
Good evening, all.
-
JRand, we ate too much at lunch today so tomorrow will be lamb chops. Tonight we just had Greek salads.
-
Twenty-four posts to a milestone - it WILL happen this very evening.
I hope someone can capture it! I'm going to the movies tonight. My friend Margo are going to see Rocketman at the 9:00 showing, then I'll come right home.
Be back later!

Dies anyone else find the new M&M hazelnut commercial disturbing?
-
Where did bk go?
-
I thought he was working on a new plateau
-
I have to get some sleep
-
But I have promises to keep
-
And several posts before I sleep
-
TCB, does your condo seem like home yet?
-
Has Nicky settled down?
-
Trying to organize the rehearsal dinner now
-
I have to talk to the catering manager in the morning
-
I hope I'm remembering everything
-
We don't have wedding favors for the kids
-
The adults are getting small bottles of wine
-
Any ideas?
-
I have found page five
-
Surprisingly it was right there behind page 4 all the time
-
Perhaps when I come back next bK will be the 6 figure man
-
Good night
-
Dies anyone else find the new M&M hazelnut commercial disturbing?
I haven't seen it. Just the thought of hazelnuts is disturbing as I will have to be very careful in the future before eating them.
-
Of course that is probably a good thing since I am trying to cut back on sugar.
-
The air conditioner is blowing on me. I hate when that happens.
-
'night
-
Had to go to Ralph's for supplies. Had another sandwich for my evening thing.
-
Okay, countdown to 100,000 postings.
-
And, go.
-
It will come sooner than later and who will photograph it for posterity.
-
It simply must be done. Someone should also capture the all 9's that will precede it.
-
Where in tarnation IS everyone?
-
Why I oughta...
-
I suppose I should write some notes, whilst the late-night denizens gather for the big momentously momentous moment.
-
A mere fifteen postings to go, is what I say.
-
I'm listening to some two-piano piano concertos for two pianos.
-
We don't have wedding favors for the kids
The adults are getting small bottles of wine
Any ideas?
Large bottles of wine?
-
Oh, sorry, Good evening.
-
I will be interested in reading whatGeorge has to say about ROCKETMAN.
-
I have seen mixed opinions.
-
It looks like Seattle Opera’s RIGOLETTO is being done in modern dress.
-
Either ala “the Mafia” or “MAD MEN.
-
Hard to tell from the the photos.
-
TCB, does your condo seem like home yet?
I was just thinking about that this evening. It does feel more like home, if you happen to live in a moving and storage warehouse.
-
Oh well, it is coming along.
-
Page Six!
-
Did I mention the sofa on steroids?
-
I will send a photo to George and see if he will post it.
-
I can’t even get inside the room to vacuum.
-
And now - onward to the new milestone.
-
Ten posts to go.
-
I shall parse them out.
-
I shall parse them, do you hear me?
-
Apparently George, who doesn't seem to be able to actually ever stay home will not be back in time to capture the milestone.
-
And that is heinous (heinous, do you hear me).
-
I will send it to George tomorrow.
-
This is parsing them out?
-
Well, BK, are you going for THE TOTAL, tonight or tomorrow?
-
It will happen momentarily.
-
I believe I can screen shot the event.
-
And here it comes.
-
Here's the crazy all 9's post.
-
Drum roll! Cymbal crash! Crowds cheering!
Ladies and gentlemen and dear readers I give you:
100,000 postings!
