Off to Fredericksburg later for Rambling Rose’,
Where have all the WUSSBURGERS gone?
and they made sure as part of every day that she got plenty of well-supervised exercise specifically to replace what walking would have done for her - for arms, torso, legs, just not upsetting the pelvis area which needed to repair "on its own" like a broken rib would need
Day 4 with no Mac
Finished my book.
Watching an ant walk across my driveway.
:'( :'( :'(
Off to Fredericksburg later for Rambling Rose’,
Love that word and name for the event!
We kept having to write the word out as "rose-ay" in sheet music and script when doing this piece.

"Ro - sé" was not cutting it for singers otherwise.

Ha! That’s funny. I can use that later today. What was the actual lyric, if I may ask?
Word has it Sondheim told Robbins if anyone else has that problem besides you, then we'll change it. :)
I wonder if Larry knows whether that really happened, or just a theater urban legend.

I do not know. I only know Gertrude Lawrence's question about Ira's "I could wait for years / Till it appears." Four? Why not ten or twenty?

The lyric is (it's not a parody project)
"Most moms help out without rose-ay.
Most Dads help out and they don't run away."
but after two times of people singing "Most Moms help out without Rose."
it was "So who is Rose?"
sort of like in GYPSY rehearsals Jerome Robbins apparently asking Sondheim "Everything's coming up Rose's what?""

And in a way like the lady who saw the sign at a Stoppard play that "Gunshots will be heard at this performance" and asked why only THIS performance. {Wondering what she followed of the Stoppard work.}
Our new neighbor is moving in today, next door to me, where the Noisy Neighbors used to reside. We HOPE he's quiet! After what we went through a few years ago I expect we'll all be quite VOCAL ourselves if he isn't.
Yesterday, Rob Berman sent me a ftwo tracks from The New Yorkers recording, which is now being mixed. It's sounding good!

Good new neighbor vibes!
Did a two-and-a-half mile walk - sweaty and gross now, and resting my voice.
Made it to the winery early, met the new panelists and we had the first panel right on time. People had great questions, there was a lot of interplay with the audience, and I didn't trip up too much trying to keep things moving.

Second panel actually went a little quicker than the first, but I felt I moderated it a little better, so that the talk stayed lively. And the folks seemed to enjoy themselves -- at least they said they did afterwards.
It was after the second panel that someone let me in on the gossip. The winery owner's wife, a lovely woman I've known for about 20 years now, was recently diagnosed with gastric cancer and given only a few weeks to live.
Really sad news on what had otherwise been a good day.
Then I headed back. It was a lovely drive through the Hill Country. The spring rains have left everything lush and green, and it hasn't been too hot up there this summer.
And I got to listen to some more of Colson Whitehead's The Nickel Boys, which is hard-hitting but compulsive listening.
I'm sorry, Fred, but I was never able to work in the lyrics. I was able to work in mentions of all the new rose' products on the market, from vodka and vinegar to mustard and water. (Yes, rose' water. It's like the antichrist. They're turning wine into water.)
The stumble-through went really well - no lyric flubs at all - well, maybe one tiny one. Cast was great, I had very few notes, we ran a couple of things and that was that.
Where is everyone this evening?

Elmore, I'm longing for that New Yorkers recording. Glad to heard the first two cuts are good.
I'm now watching SNL with host, Idris Elba. He can be pretty funny! Who knew?

I have no idea who that might be.

I wonder when today will get locked.

That didn’t really help, since I have never seen any of his credits.
I wonder when today will get locked.
Or tomorrow opened?
