Post by: George on August 04, 2019, 01:41:07 AM: So this just happened...I heard my cat SCREAMING out back, so I rushed downstairs to see if she was fighting with another cat or possum or something that got into my back yard, but when I got down there and turned on the light, I didn't see another animal at all. Neve came inside, so I shut and locked the back door. Of course, she wanted to go right back out, but it was more than late enough to keep her in, so I did.

I kind of froze, and neither spider moved, so quickly was able to find a couple of Glad plastic storage containers that my sister had loaned me (shhhh...don't tell her!) and I was able to cover each of them with the storage containers! Whew!

I won't post them. ;D I then found some card stock-type card and slid that under the first container, carefully trying not to hurt the spider. I then took it outside and put it in the garden of one of my neighbors. Then, I got the other spider out and put that in the garden of my other neighbor. ;)

She had me buy them a new front door knob and deadbolt lock, so I'll install that. My mom also first wants to repaint the part of the door that's under the lock. They bought this house in 1976, and this is the first time that they've changed the lock. It's weird to think my key to their house is almost 43 years old.

The WEST SIDE STORY sitzprobe was fun, and the order of songs was well planned in advance as far as which cast members were needed and when. (We were in the "pit" area of the theater and the cast was on stage doing their blocking.) I don't know how common a practice that is in the non-professional field, but it resulted in a very efficient session.

In the scene where Don Rickles is doing his comedy routine, everyone in the club is laughing, except Buster Keaton (who can be seen in the background) indicating that he didn't think Rickles was particularly funny (and didn't realize he was in view of the camera). May be a directorial choice but is interesting to observe due to Keaton being such a comedy icon.

How about we treat guns like cars...which are manufactured to transport people , not kill them?

You must take a permit test

Once you have your permit you must take lessons and a safety course

You have to then pass a licensing test

Your license expires every ten years be must be renewed

Every gun must be registered and insured

The gun must pass a safety inspection every year

The registration expires every two years and must be renewed

Thus should be a Federal law, they can set up centers just like the DMV...think of all the money the government can make from licensing and registration fees!

Don't like the fees? Don't get a gun!

Since it was all outside, I figured that it would be better to put the huge spiders in the little gardens to (hopefully) eat bugs that harm the flowers.

I'm glad you enjoyed Austin. The vegetarian dishes sound good except I don't like broccolini and probably quick pickled cucumbers.

It will. At least we have a two week trip planned for September to keep us busy. Really hard will be having the baby in Chicago and us here. Of course we will go after she is born, depending on what is convenient for them. I just wish it wasn't going to be winter when we go. October would have been a much nicer time of year to travel ;D

It was another expense on top of the door knob and deadbolt that I bought for my parents, but it seemed like the easiest solution.

And both my parents tried it and were able to lock both locks. Whew!

I knew that she was the same woman who sang “To Keep My Love Alive”, because they play that quite often on Sirius FM, on the Broadway channel. I just wasn’t sure that she was the original. Thanks, Elmore.

No, they don’t allow smoking in the building, but the woman who took personal care for the washing, the folding, and the sealing in plastic of all my clothes, is a very heavy smoker. She was so very nice, I didn’t want to complain.
