Congrats to MR BK on the Indiego success.

Tonight was a call for the CAST to do Act Three.....but one actress asked for the night off.
Since she has been in SHREK! I said that would be all right...it will be difficult to play without Rosemary, but I understand how she feels.
-
TOD:
Capitol Records....The Beatles & The Beach Boys
Columbia Red Label - very nice looking label
Liberty Records
ABC Paramount was probably my favorite label with a great logo.
Buena Vista was also very nice.
Warner Bros. Red Label was nice....I didn't like the orange label as much.
-
TOD:
Columbia for the cast albums
-
Two!
-
Monday morning greetings! We have a fairly quiet week ahead, which is fine with me.
-
Good morning!
-
Annabelle and I are home from the vet. She got a clean bill of health, so we're both happy.
-
Before we left, I discovered that my air conditioner was leaking all over the floor, so that was today's fresh hell. I've emailed the management that I need service men for the AC and the stove.
-
TOD:
Columbia for the record club and cast albums
RCA for classical and cast albums
Capitol for the Beatles and cast albums
Warner Brothers for Dorothy Provine and occasional soundtracks
MGM for She Loves Me and Baker Street!
-
Congrats to MR BK on the Indiego success.

DR George that was a great request your sister's boyffriend sent you ;D
It was! I forwarded it to some coworkers! :))
-
Done all my Indiegogo updates everywhere. Now we wait and hope.

The manager of the building has informed me that "management is no longer responsible for air conditioner maintenance." I have no idea when they changed this policy, given that it was still in effect in 2012 when the current unit was installed. I also find it curious since this building was constructed so that every apartment had an AC unit to go into the wall. If I remove my air conditioner I have a hole in my wall about 18 inches high and two feet wide going out to 82nd Street, and any insects, vermin, birds, whatever can get into the apartment from outside.

Hmmm. Have you read your lease to confirm this?

That's not right! >:(
-
That STINKS, DR Elmore!
I mean, what do I know? But to my simple way of thinking, those were furnished by the building to be uniform and correctly spec'ed, fitted, and functioning, and are theirs to maintain. Just like heating and radiator systems. And plumbing. And stove and refrigerator.
Also to my simple way of thinking (God, I'm such a simpleton), if that truly was changed at some point, there had better have been some provable BIG ASS attention drawn to it for every tenant before it went into effect.

And with that pronouncement, I must be off, for I have an appointment with an EmCee and six Kit Kat Girls.

Hello, everyone.

Glad to hear that both Vixmom and TCB are feeling better. Vibes that continues.

Annabelle, also.

Window air conditioners generally don't require any maintenance that I know of, other than cleaning the filter every few months. If the unit no longer functions will they replace it?
I think it's time to get to know the people at the housing authority. Also time to review your lease. Your rent is based partly on having a working AC unit, so if it's not working and they won't maintain it it does seem like overcharging.
Can you contact Val to see what he knows, ie, is there a way to repair your AC? He should be familiar with the AC units in your building and know what options you--and other residents--have.
It's a drag, but it's best to know all your options.

Is there an agency that looks out for seniors?
-
Jane, I'm improving, thanks. I can now take short walks and short drives. This morning I was able to do a load of laundry without assistance. I'll be returning tomorrow for my follow-up.
-
Excellent suggestion to ask Val.

It sounds like you are healing in a reasonable time frame. Vibes for a complete recovery & successful surgery.

Over the weekend I watched DETECTIVE MONTALBANO. It's very Italian. I can see why the books didn't make sense to me; there's much that just isn't on the page. I didn't care for it at first, but stayed with it and now rather like it.

Traffic this evening wasnt as bad as the morning. But give it time.

That was cheery and upbeat, eh?

He just rose in my estimation. I've liked him very much but this was the cherry on top.

This is not a window aire conditioner. It's a through-the-wall model.

Val has not been our super for about a year.

It wasn't very expensive, but that listing says that that model is discontinued. Maybe that's why the management says (thinks) that they're no longer responsible for the maintenance. :-\

Picked up some packages and came to the realization that Moron Day must have extended to today. I've never seen anything like it, really. At every major street where there's a separate left turn lane, the line was so long that it spilled into the other lanes, which caused back-ups two blocks long - I don't get it - what, every moron in the Valley suddenly only needs to turn left? And at the corner of Laurel Canyon and Riverside, where the mail place is, cars were backed up for three blocks with no respite in sight - why? Why today, when it's NEVER like that - no street work or anything like that. Just morons.
-
Then I came home and made Wacky Noodles, which were very good, proofed and fixed a chart for the Kritzerland show, and while today has been VERY slow in terms of Indiegogo, we did go up to 169%. At this point, I truly believe the Facebook BS algorithms are working overtime to make sure NO one sees these posts - they want advertising money, which I have given them twice - they want more and therefore my posts go unliked and unshared. Very annoying.

Window AC units and through-the-wall models are basically the same vs. a heat pump
that has ducting going to various rooms. I saw no mention of maintenance in the model description. My guess is that when it conks out you replace it.
I suggested Val because he's familar with your building. He'd know whether the ac units can be repaired in any way.
-
A problem with through-the-wall models is that the new models may not be the same size. Window units tend to be standard sizes. As George pointed out, they simply may not want to deal with the problem.

171%! Someone took the other Donny and Marie script - those two scripts are beyond amazing.
-
Congrats.
-
DR elmore you have mentioned seeing Val on occasion and it is possible he would be willing to give you a quick answer, if he knows if they can be repaired & if so who to call, regarding the air conditioner.

172%!!

Home from dancing lessons. It went well tonight.
-
But, boy, it's still hot even in the evening.
-
Let's move on ...
-
Four!
-
And on that note (F-natural), I'm off to my sister's. I'm going to help her and her daughter move the fence for my niece's chickens, then we'll have nachos for dinner, then I'll go home. :)
Be back later.
-
Excellent news on 172%.
-
Starting to watch The White Crow, Ralph Fiennes' movie about Nureyev. I didn't expect most of the movie to be in Russian, especially since David Hare wrote it. But it's fascinating. The actor playing Rudolf doesn't have the original's arrogance, but his dancing has grown as the character progresses.
-
Good night, all.
-
Back from rehearsal, and it's muggier than holy hell here.
-
We're currently at 173% but unless I'm as bad at math as I am, I think we're really at 174% and I think when I looked on my phone that's what it said, but it sure hasn't updated elsewhere. I mean, we were at 173% and then someone took a 75-dollar perk which should have immediately brought us to 174%.
-
I rarely read 2 books at once, yet that is what I am currently doing. A 3rd book checked out from the library.
-
I had better read for awhile.
-
If I don't return tonight it is because I fell asleep.
-
Still at 173% which just doesn't seem right at all, given that we're a mere 1300 bucks from doubling our goal. Who is good at math?
-
Good evening.
-
Greetings, 2 Guests!
-
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
-
Page 4? Really?
-
It was a very pretty day today.
-
It got to 80 degrees, or so.
-
It is suppose to be in the mid-eighties tomorrow.
-
What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?
It used to be English toffee but it has been years since I have seen any.
-
We were a little cooler here.
-
83 is the hight expected tomorrow.
-
Hi, Tom and Jane.
-
And yet, on Wednesday, we are going to have a big rainstorm.
-
How were your nachos, George?
-
Vegan? Correct?
-
I stopped at Wendys today to pick-up dinner.
-
I thought a taco salad sounded good, so that is what I got.
-
But, of course, I forgot that Wendys taco salads are made with chili, instead of taco meat.
-
It was okay, but it didnt satisfy my craving for a taco salad.
-
Maybe tomorrow I will go to Taco Time and get a taco salad.
-
How were your nachos, George?
They were simple, but pretty good.
-
Page 5
-
Vegan? Correct?
No, vegetarian, though. We had real cheese, but the "meat" was vegan crumbles. It was all quite tasty.
-
Taco Time makes good taco salads. And I can get Mexi-fries to go with it.
-
I thought a taco salad sounded good, so that is what I got.
I've had that before and it is pretty good.
-
Taco Time makes good taco salads. And I can get Mexi-fries to go with it.
I've had Taco Time salads, too. :)
-
Do I want to know what vegan crumbles are made from?
-
I thought a taco salad sounded good, so that is what I got.
I've had that before and it is pretty good.
Yes, it was good, but it just didnt fill the need for taco salad.
-
Do I want to know what vegan crumbles are made from?
Not meat...but nothing really horrible.
-

Yes, chili is not the same as taco meat.
-
What is this page five malarky?
-
This will NOT do, oh, no, this will not do.
-
It is most unseemly.
-
I ate a little too much ice cream.
-
Why did I do that?
-
I probably wont bother to go to Taco Time for dinner, but, right now, it sounds great.
-
I remember in days of old when I could make a pound of Wacky Noodles and eat them all up. Thank goodness I don't do that anymore. No more than eight ounces.
-
And that fills me up.
-
Do I want to know what vegan crumbles are made from?
Not meat...but nothing really horrible.
Tofu?
-
Wendy's has taco salad.
-
Who knew?
