Well, you've read the notes, the notes contained good news, and now it is time for you to post until the good news cows come home.

Topic of the Day:  I want to watch Alma Deutscher's Cinderella again.  I really enjoyed it.  Is it the greatest opera ever written?  No, but it's really sweet and I think it's very well written, even for someone much older than Alma's twelve years!

I watched the fist hour of the debates, took two Tylenol, one Tylenol PM, one Tizanidine, and went to bed.  Two hours later I woke. slept fitfully until 1:00 or so and took another Tylenol PM.  I slept intermittently until around 5:00.  By that point Annabelle and Stella had joined Thatch and me.

When the alarm rang at 6:30, I fed the cats and went back to bed.  I slept very soundly until 7:45 - a weird dream that went from a party and a pianist to a French Catholic boys school years ago - when I was wide awake.  I sat in a tub of hot water for some time, dressed, got my first cuppa coffee, and here I am.

At some point today, the serviceman for the stove will show up, so I must clean it off.  I need to make a trip to the corner bodega as well.  I'm not doing much else today.

There were a few NEW bumps and jumbles....but I am pleased for the most part.

The play isn't bad either.   :D

A non-Wednesday kind of question for BK:

What is the keyboard used for? Just curious because I don’t recall seeing one there before.

Also, I didn’t play this over the Big Speakers, but for instance, do I hear a bit of strings padding on “What I Did for Love”?

The keyboard at The Federal was an electric grand - therefore, if keys had to be changed it was the press of a button.  Vitello's only has the real piano, so Richard brings his keyboard for that purpose only - no strings in anything, just the piano sound.  It makes his life much easier, as he doesn't really transpose well on sight.

I'm up, I'm up - I think I got a little over eight hours.  I think because the doorbell rang at eight and it was some tree person telling me they were removing a tree across the street and would I move the car in front of my house.  I said I would not since it's not my car.  I went back to bed, but then we had the tree cacophony - I fell back asleep at some point.

Jane, the October edition of Life Extension magazine has an article on using clove extract to lower blood sugar. It significantly lowered fasting glucose for both diabetic and prediabetic patients. The article also mentioned maqui berry, which I've been taking to help with my dry eyes. (It does help.) Apparently, it helps lower blood sugar, too. Maqui berry is also available in a powder, which you can put into smoothies.

When it starts out The main character is a recent widow.  She has one grown son who has a really dim girlfriend, the gf's mum is an absolute b*****, her inlaws are old miserable things, her brother in law is involved with a very rich, very pretentious divorcée, and her husband's best friend is secretly in love with her.

The only really nice people are Mum and the man who loves her.

The rest of them are all selfish and unaware nitwits

Has anyone else seen it?

Not I.  What's it about?

When it starts out The main character is a recent widow.  She has one grown son who has a really dim girlfriend, the gf's mum is an absolute b*****, her inlaws are old miserable things, her brother in law is involved with a very rich, very pretentious divorcée, and her husband's best friend is secretly in love with her.

The only really nice people are Mum and the man who loves her.

The rest of them are all selfish and unaware nitwits

Oh, my! :o

I've seen a few shows like that.

We've also been watching a New Zealand series called 900 words.

This is about a recently widowed newspaper columnist and his 2 teenage children who move from Australia to a remote beach side village in New Zealand

I also liked 900 WORDS--at first. Then the antics of the teenagers got to me.

I tried MUM, but just couldn't get into it.  I have little patience these days for people who are stupid, thoughtless, etc. I think the reason I like CALL THE MIDWIFE so much is that these characters are truly struggling, they are doing their very best to cope with really tough circumstances. I can respect that.

Vixmom, if you come across THE SYNDICATE--ALL OR NOTHING, give it a try. I loved it. It's a lottery story with a twist.

This sounds like "One Day at a Time" except a father instead of a mother.

Do they have a funny maintenance guy named Schneider?

Home finally after ushering for Mary Poppins Returns. I was expecting a big crowd, but I forgot that it's Friday night lights season and all of San Antonio was likely at a football game.

I was surprised at how much I liked it. This was the second time I had seen it, and it really is not a bad movie, except for the music, which is a third-rate imitation of the original. And Rob Marshall tries too hard with the fantasy. But the human parts, the story of Michael and his kids, actually works.

I got a cookbook in the mail today. Eddie Jackson's Game-Day Eats. I don't know who Jackson is (Google tells me he's with the Chicago Bears), but I like a lot of tailgating food. So, this should be fun.

I doubt I could watch MUM for that same reason and feel the same way about CALL THE MIDWIFE.

I didn't really search Prime.  I searched for 49 Pulses under "Movies and TV," and got results for both the DVD and the Prime Video version.  In the list of results was also a link to Lifeline: the Untold Story of Saving the Pulse Survivors, so I just happened to see it right there.
