Well, you've read the notes, the notes were written on the first day of the tenth month, and now it is time for you to post until then ten October cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PROPITIOUS!
-
You are welcome Ginny. Today we will be going to the cemetary where my mother's paternal grandparents are buried. Unfortunately we cannot find her maternal grandpare nts.
-
First post after Jane.
-
Hi, Jane.
-
Vixmom thank you for the travel vibes.
-
John your evening sounds lovely.
-
Has anyone on the site seen the film, JUDY yet?

Has anyone on the site seen the film, JUDY yet?
I haven't yet, but I want to. It got an 84% Tomatometer (https://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/judy_2019) rating, and 89% Audience Score.
-
Well, good night, Tom. I need to go to bed now so that I can get to work earlier than usual because of my earlier than usual meeting.
Have a good day, all!
-
John your evening sounds lovely.
And the food was excellent, too. Italian. Risotto with mushrooms. Pizza with chicken and mushrooms. A Caesar with grilled chicken and a type of Greek salad, which was nice of the kitchen to make for us.

Good morning, all!

Andy Williams died seven years ago? What do ya know?
-
Another horrible night between 12:30 and 6:30. I went back to Tylenol PM last night, and it was worthless. The problem with this Tramadol "painkiller," is it's good for maybe three hours and then you're screwed because you can only take it every eight hours. Between the fears of overdosing and opioid addiction, I feel hamstrung.
At least an overdose would kill me, and the pains would end.

It was fascinating that when the internet had Lena Horne dying all over again a few years after she died, just like the classy lady herself, several members of her family's reaction had such class, along the lines of: We're not upset at all; it's great that this internet error is making more people who only vaguely knew her name learn about her.
-
There was a weird internet thing a while back, where strange internet spacing had reports like "Did you read Thatcher passed away" being read as "Did you read that Cher passed away?"

I assume you're joking, but smilies would be appreciated!

We at least can tell you honestly that in addition to the tragedy of what you still have to bring the world in all ways human and artistic, letting yourself drift away without a fight would also be selfish - now that you have responsibilities to other living things.
I wonder if this happens to Ginny too, from having played Lucy Van Pelt - "The Doctor Is In" number never leaves :) - that'll be 5 cents, please.
-
The guy who played Charlie Brown so neurotically when I played Lucy was, in real life, so incredibly well-adjusted, and aware and confident in his performing talent.

Cleaning the litter is always a forecast of how the day might go. It was a disaster this morning. The bending and lifting necessary to the task are not the things my body wants to do willingly at the moment.
-
I watch the cats assume grooming positions that a professional yoga practitioner could never achieve and think, if only I could do half of that at the moment!
-
I need to call my bank and fight over half of the overdrawn charges from the weekend.
-
Wow! My bank's customer service just did me a huge favor. I am very grateful.
-
I must make the bed and prepare to leave for City Center.
-
Wishing one and all a good day, wherever your travels take you.
-
T.O.D.
I've never really been a fan of fish, though on occasion, I do enjoy swordfish and scallops.

I forgot to mention our dinner last night. We had an exceptionally delicious chipotle bean burger with sweet potato fries. We also had a side dish of vegetables which was good to eat simply because we haven't been getting enough veggies.
-

I have nevered cared for fish and chips, probably be ause I am not a fan of cod. When we were in Hong Kong we went the famous English restaurant Harry Ramsden, which used a different fish, and I liked it. I then ordered mediocre fish & chips in London since there wasn't anything else on the menu for me. The other day I had them again in York after the restaurant was out of my first two vegetarian requests. It was with cod and very disappointing as I had been told the best fish & chips are in York.
-
I have learned I do not hate fish & chips even when it is barely ok :D
-
That is a good thing as I suspect I will be having them for lunch tomorrow.
-
DR elmore I hope the orthopedist can help you so you can get off of the pain meds & walk again. If you need surgery maybe a friend can stay at your place with the cats.
-
Keith just put up photos on facebook of the beautiful cemetery we visited today. We like walking through old cemeteries and this one was especially nice.
There was a gravestone I had to walk uo to because of the massive stone angle I could see from a distance. It was a grave for a couple. In front of their gravestone was a large stone carving of a dog bed with a dog in the bed. The dogs name was Bella.
-
We found the grave for my great grandmother Mary, wife of Ernest. Also listed on the gravestone was a 10 month old baby boy and a 39 year old daughter. My grandfather, Ernest, is also buried there but was not added to the gravestone :(
-
Oddly my grandfather who died before my great grandfather is not burried there, yet some strange woman is listed as being in the grave. We asked about that at the office and they said it was not uncommon to let a neighbor share a grave. Maybe she was more than just a neighbor.
-
Keith has a mystery to try and solve now though I don't think he will. Sadly the only person who might be able to tell us has passed away.
-
My fish palate is not educated.....so fish & chips is about as far as I go.
-
FOB vibes for MR BK.
-
Good news about the bank DR ELMORE.

One of the photos DR JANE was talking about.

It turns out my tickets for FIDDLER are for Wednesday night.
-
Thank you DR Jrand.

It turns out my tickets for FIDDLER are for Wednesday night.
I hope you can still go.
-
Good morning!

I'd asked this on Facebook, but wonder what anything makes of this here. I had what seemed to be a warm online conversation with my nephew David Sunday night. There are huge legal issues with his father and mother, the Lord and Lady Macbeth of Cranford, New Jersey.
I looked at the conversation today, and in the middle of about 15 messages, an exchange that had the overall sweep of maybe being sincere that he is not the way they are, there is one message that's comprised only of one word:
Gaslight
Again. that one word is that entire message. It's unrelated to anything else in the conversation.
Does this mean he is gaslighting me and telling me that? He's 31 and not stupid. One of the people on Facebook wondered if it meant he was being gaslighted by someone.
-
Well, good night, Tom. I need to go to bed now so that I can get to work earlier than usual because of my earlier than usual meeting.
Have a good day, all!
Well, I made my meeting with minutes to spare, so it's all good. Now, I get to work an hour extra so that I can take off an hour early later in the week...probably Friday. :)

That's a good way to think of it.
-
Good morning? Nope. Afternoon, all.
-
We are in Day Two of the cold, and it's running its course. That first full day of sneezing and nose-running misery is always the worst, and that's subsided enough to allow some decent rest. Which is all I'm doing.
-
Wow! My bank's customer service just did me a huge favor. I am very grateful.
What ever it was...Congrats, Larry!!

Nice picture, Jane.
-
Great photo, Jane.

Promises promise just arrived on Long Island
-
I had a good day with Joshie, and we are caught up, so I will stay home tomorrow and do laundry.
-
Tuesday afternoon greetings! I’m home from the first DAR meeting of the 2019-20 program year. We’re in a new (to us) venue, so there were a few kinks, but things went pretty smoothly overall. I was supposed to give a report on attending June’s Continental Congress, but deferred to next month because it was running long. My presentation will keep.
-
Thank you George & John.
-
FJL I have no idea how to answer your question. It could mean he is gaslighting you, thinks you are gastlighting him, or other family members have done the gaslighting. The only way to know is to pm him and ask, though I do not reccomend you do this. Affterall it is his parents you have issues with and should probably be very careful with your conversations with him.
-
I'm up, I'm up - eight hours of sleep.
-
I do hope ChasSmith has Sambucol.
-
I had a good day with Joshie, and we are caught up, so I will stay home tomorrow and do laundry.
That reminds me that I have more laundry to do. :P
-
Being caught up is good DR ELMORE.
-
It is a puzzlement DR FJL.
-
In fact DR JANE it turns out that I have plans on Wednesday night so I will not be trekking to Anatevka after all.....sad.
-
Darn.
-
Tonight we went to Chinatown for dinner. Not that we could tell we were in Chinatown as it looked just like the rest of City Cente Manchester. Dinner was fantastic. They just might have been the best spring rolls ever. The sweet and sour tofu was as good, or better, than the best sweet and sour chicken we have ever had.
-
Hello, everyone.
-
FEEL BETTER PRONTO, everyone!
-
I've been stocking up on Sambucol, because once cold & flu season hits my usual sources usually run out.
-
I've been running errands and trying to get caught up. I'm behind in sooo many things.
-
Picked up a couple of packages, did some banking, and got some Taco Bell for the meal o' the day. Ate that, listened to some music, worked at the piano, and am now relaxing until it's time to read.
-
TOD:
I learned to enjoy fish when I was doing a lot of business travel and was often in little towns with few options. Favorites are wild salmon--poached or grilled; sea bass; grouper; red snapper; fish and chips. One of the nice things about fish and chips is that even eateries that don't specialize in fish will often serve fish and chips.
-
Vibes to all.
TTFN.
-
The only fish I will eat is battered fish with chips, the fish must be slathered with tartar sauce and the chips with salt and brown vinegar
-
I will eat shrimp, lobster and crabmeat if it is served to me but I will not usually seek it out
-
I keep thinking about vegetarian and vegan diets, but who am I fooling?
-
I could never go vegan, take away eggs and dairy and there’s no point to eating anymore
-
I might be able to go vegetarian
-
For an hour or two
-
For instance dinner tonight was a toasted tortilla slathered with home made guacamole, some salsa and some sour cream
-
( see gotta have the dairy)
-
But right now I am thinking about how wonderful a nice rare sirloin would taste
-
Chas I thought I kept sneezing on Thursday and my throat was getting sore and kept dissolving sambucol tablets under my tongue, using zicam nasal spray and by Friday I was feeling better
-
Vixdad is illnow so I’m taking some preventative sambucol
-
Went to the Infiniti jernt and got new batteries in the fob and the back-up fob. Praying that will solve the problem of the last two days.
-
I think I shall have some hot tea and lemon honey as well
-
And now...
-
...let's turn the page to...
-
4our!!
-
Well, it's time for me to leave, so I shall. My sister wants me to come over to her place because she's having trouble with her eyeglasses. I guess one of the arms either won't close or won't open. Hopefully, it'll be an easy fix with just an eyeglass screwdriver, which I actually have here at work and I'll bring with me. We'll see.
Be back later.
-
For you denizens of LA...
Martin Bernheimer, 83. (He was only 83??)
-

Good luck.
-
Back from auditions - four people, none right. Tomorrow night, Doug and I are going to a show and after it we'll offer the role to the actor we think would be best. He's already said he wants to do it, although he's not really done small theater before. But that's the allure of the role. This guy Barry knows well, and he works a lot in the bigger LA houses.
-
Now I'm home, eating some matzoh, and listening to pretty music by Laszlo Lajtha.

Well, I brought my eyeglasses screwdriver to my sister's.
-
I tried it, but I couldn't loosen the screw on one of the arms of her glasses!
-
The screw really seems like it's been glued!
-
But my sister said it was fine this morning. :-\
-
She has no idea what could've happened.
-
I suggested that she take the glasses back to where she got them.
-
Fortunately, she's going to her dentist tomorrow and can stop at her eye doctor after the dentist.

Gratuitous Post #103!
-
Tonight, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Chris Colfer are going to be on The Tonight Show.
-
Chris Colfer used to be on Glee, but has also become a fairly successful author.
-
At the same time, Rachel Maddow is going to be on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
-
I'll watch Stephen Colbert and record Jimmy Fallon.
-
Tom, today I mailed a package to you!
-
Earlier, I watched an episode of The Other Two (https://www.imdb.com/title/tt8310612/reference).
-
That's a fun show.
-
Here's the synopsis from IMDb:
An aspiring actor [Cary] and his sister Brooke, a former professional dancer, try to find their place in the world while wrestling with their feelings about their 13-year-old brother Chase's sudden rise to internet fame.
-
Molly Shannon plays their mother.
-
Molly's playing the same kind of character that she usually plays, but she's really good at it.
-
Good evening.
-
Page 4? Still?
-
Hi, George.
-
It is going to be another chilly night, but not as chilly as last night.
-
We need to turn the page.

Well, this is pretty cool: Katrina Lenk To Celebrate Sondheim With The New York Philharmonic On New Year's Eve (https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Katrina-Lenk-To-Celebrate-Sondheim-With-The-New-York-Philharmonic-On-New-Years-Eve-20191001)!
-
It's going to be recorded and shown on PBS!
-
I feel like I should start watching Fox News.
-
It may be some of the best comedy available.
-
George, did you know that Second Story Repertory is currently doing ASSASSINS?
