Is that because you have pulled the key card out?  If so, get a second key to leave in the slot so you can continue to charge your kindle.

No. It’s the door key. And it doesn’t work that way. It’s an old-fashioned metal key.

Physical therapy went well.  It's chilly this morning, and I wore little, which I didn't mind since it's easy, fast bus rides. Sadly, when I left therapy it was raining, and the little I wore was getting soaked.  I luckily caught a taxi and got home in one piece.  It's screwed up my shopping plans, but that's okay.

Went out to look at the stars away from the resort. Walked down a road several hundred yards, where it’s darker. It’s also closer to another resort with karaoke or just really loud music. And here I was in the middle of nowhere on a Greek island, looking at Perseus and Andromeda. All of a sudden I realize I’m hearing One from A Chorus Line blaring in the background. Very surreal.

I went to the hairdresser today. The client before me had medium-length brown hair and was having the tips tinted green. It was a long, multi-step process. This was a woman in her forties. She was hoping the tips would actually turn out teal--that was very important to her. I try not to judge.

Oh, I forgot to mention the Village-to-Village Network I learned about yesterday. There are about 300 of these across the country, volunteer organizations to help seniors with rides or minor handyman chores. They require a year's membership, but offer up to 18 rides per month, much cheaper they say than Uber or Lyft.

There is the one cousin that lives on the Isle of Man.  She and her husband were vacationing in Lancaster where we met.

After my mother died I wrote her mother, my mother's favorite aunt, to tell her.  My aunt & I wrote a few times and then my cousin wrote to tell me that my aunt had passed away.  We occasionally wrote over the years and then Keith & I went to the Isle of Man to meet the family there.  It was very nice to see them.

DR Jeanne I wish you could have followed Keith's blog on fb.  This is what he wrote on our last day of touring with my cousin Jane & her husband.

"At the end of the 18th century, Lancashire was developing into a center for the spinning and weaving of cotton fiber into fabric. Ultimately, it became the hub of the English cotton industry and the apex of the English industrial revolution. My 4th great-grandparents, James Ormrod (1770-1825) and Ann Woods (1768-1814), were borne into the Lancashire households of a miller and a house servant, respectively. Humble beginnings. When James passed at the age of 58, he and his partners controlled numerous Lancashire cotton mills and the first commercial bank of Bolton—the latter now part of the Royal Bank of Scotland. James and Ann’s offspring maintained and grew the businesses they inherited and by the end of the 19th century, the family’s combined fortunes totaled approximately £1.5 million pounds—equivalent to about $200 million US dollars today. Walking through the town of Bolton, seeing their estates and the results of their charities, was fascinating. My own family version of Downton Abbey!"

That's kind of like what happened to my mom.  Her father left when she was a baby and went on to have another family.  Her younger half-brother somehow knew about her and eventually contacted her a couple of years ago.  My mom only knew that her father had left, and nothing else.  She was apprehensive about meeting him, but when he came here and they got to know each other, she was really glad that they did meet.  But she never knew, and was the older of all her other siblings.

Also a friend from high school, elementary & jr high for Keith, drove an hour to meet us for lunch. She lives in the US but was staying with a sister who lives in England.  Up until a few years ago she didn't even know she had a sister.  It is great they have become close.

That's cool...and kind of sad that she didn't know that she had a sister after all this time.

She was rather shocked when she found out.  Her older sister knew about her.

The older sister was a war baby and then the father returned to the States.

I've been watching the new transfer of The Shining.  I don't have 4K and I'm told that looks great - the Blu of it certainly looks better than the old Blu - in fact, some of it looks great, while certain shots seem to lack contrast - curious if the 4K is like that.

My niece called and asked if I could come over on Saturday where there will be more time and it'll be warmer earlier in the day.  I said that that was okay.  So, I went to Costco instead and did a little shopping.  Now, I'm home and will balance my checkbook...hopefully. ;)

Someone on The Manhattan Transfer's FB page posted a YouTube link to the Society of Singers tribute to Frank Sinatra from 1990!  It's the whole hour and a half show.  It's fantastic!

This is what FB poster wrote:

FINALLY someone uploaded the entire program of the Society of Singers tribute to Sinatra on the occasion of his 75th birthday. The lineup of talent is mind boggling: The Hi-Lo's (with Don Shelton and Clark Burroughs), Kitty Kallen, The Sentimentalists (with all of the Clark Sisters), Connie Haines backed by The Manhattan Transfer, Ella, Fran Warren, Steve and Eydie -- I could go on for days! A magnificent evening!

BK, I'm curious.  According to the CastAlbums.org listing (http://castalbums.org/recordings/Kurt-Weill-Revisited-Vol-2-1981-Various-Artists/7012/) of Kurt Weill Revisited, Vol. 2, the Painted Smiles CD release had 16 tracks, but the Kritzerland listing (http://www.kritzerland.com/weill2.htm) only shows 12 tracks.  Is that all that yours will have, or did the other tracks just not get listed on the Kritzerland page?

The Painted Smiles CD had twelve tracks, too - just more of Mr. Bagley's complete ineptitude.  On the original LP the first tracks were combined into a medley on ONE track - on the CD he erroneously listed them as separate tracks - you'll see in our list of tracks that all the songs in that medley are one track.  Same with the final two songs - a medley that should be one track that he listed as separate tracks - that's why I'm so happy to be doing these - to correct all his crap.  I do believe by the time he did the CDs he'd completely lost any semblance of sanity he'd once had and he didn't have much to begin with.
