Well, you've read the notes, the notes were simply Simply, and now it is time for you to post until the simply Simply cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: BONHOMIE!
-
First post after BK.
-
Second post after BK.
-
Great idea for a book, BK. Will there be a way for someone to track down the music for a certain song?
-
Good night, George.
-
That's pretty darned cool about your new book, BK! Can't wait to read it!
-
Good night, George.
Good night, Tom.
-
Welcome 403 GUESTS. Um, really?
-
I need to get to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
DR TCB I hope you can fix the problem so you can change the channels again on your tv.
-
Some flavors of Baskin Robbins ice cream are sold in markets. I have yet to see plain chocolate.
-
DR Vixmom I haven't had my Bosch long enough to know how well it last. We replaced the Bosch that was here as it too wouldn't drain any longer. Since I was pleased with the old one I didn't look seriously at any other brands. We got ours at Best Buy.
-
We did the dishes by hand for months. Keith never uses the dishwasher. I am the one who likes it.
-
Wow, to have all the lyrics in one book is a great idea.
-
And the word of the day is: BONHOMIE!
Wasn't that a Turkish taffy brand?
-
Good morning, all!
-
The banks were closed yesterday, but my rent check cleared this morning. Thank God that worry is now over.
-
Actually, Bonomo Turkish taffy had a factory across the street from our place in Luna park. Quite a few students found some work there, and they often had sales of extra product that they made.
-
This morning I will go to City Center to proofread the Exit Music for Mack & Mabel, and that will finish my current commitment to the production. The most embarrassing day will be Friday, when I hear at the orchestra reading what clams I didn't catch.
-
I think those special sales kept the local dentists very happy.
-
The Bonomo products were really good, if you like Turkish taffy. But the stuff had to be awful for us, since they tasted like the sugar concentration was as high as cotton candy.
I did my part-time work at the cotton candy stands in Coney Island rather than at Bonomo.
-
BK - I was buying from the Kritzerland email. The PayPal choice just wouldn't work, but I was able to use the direct purchase OK.
-
I got a good chunk of my 2019 receipts sorted yesterday. After dealing the past two years with Thatch's help, Stella is now my new helper. Thatch ignored the whole process and slept through the sorting with Annabelle while Stella climbed in and out of the shopping bag of receipts and fought me every time I dragged her out of it. She clearly forgave me since she curled up[ besoide me for most of the night.
-
Good morning, all.
-
I need more sleep. But I ain’t gonna get it. That new project starts today at work.
-
And today is also the day when the bonuses are announced.
-
DR JohnG, apropos your pop song writers and Broadway, Shelly Fabares' hit "Johnny Angel" was written by Lee Pockriss, who composed Earnest In Love and Tovarich.
-
And today is also the day when the bonuses are announced.
I hope you get a very nice one.
-
And on to page 2!
-
Page 2 Dance!
-
Kitty cleanup went very easily. I had to take things to the basement, and Stella escaped while I was dealing with the door and the items I was carrying. When I caught her, I put her on my shoulder and took her to the basement with me. I think she enjoyed the ride.
-
I've been at the car place for an hour
-
Oil change, car checkup.
-
They sucked me into the new filter scam..
-
The filters were pretty dirty and I know I havent had them changed for so.e time as I usually resist
-
Hopefully they're nearly done as I have to go to work

Good morning!

I just cancelled Netflix.
Too many technical issues to deal with. They need to get their act together.

continued vibes for Sandy D.

What a great book this is going to be. Congrats to MR BK! I can hardly wait to read it.
-
Hmmmm......I know I purchased these CD's when they were first released, but they don't seem to be anywhere they should be.....
I thought I was organized.
-
I use Eckrich Hot Dogs......I also like Oscar Meyer dogs because they come in two five-paks instead of 10 all in one pak.
-
I usually broil them in the oven and then put cheese salsa on them for a nice lunch....or snack.
-
The banks were closed yesterday, but my rent check cleared this morning. Thank God that worry is now over.
Thank goodness.

And today is also the day when the bonuses are announced.
Good luck!

Is this your bonus? Sounds good. Are you pleased with it?
-
Lower than last year.
-
But yes, I am pleased.
-
It took me about an hour to proofread the Exit Music, and I am home.
-
And ready for a nap.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Okay, I was a minute and a half late.
-
Book sounds great! Especially with the prospect of photos and whatnot being included. How about a few musical examples as well?
-
Damn, I wish I were driving to Florida right about now. Have a great trip, as always, DR vixmom!
-
I love photos and whatnot!
-
And photos of whatnot.
-
Lower than last year.
Sorry.

But yes, I am pleased.

I'm up, I'm up - not quite eight hours of sleep and an allergy attack seems like it's on its way and I'm out of pills, so I'll have to go to Rite Aid shortly.
-
DR JRand69, I've been watching Below Decks since Season One. I used to like Kate, but she's quite a nasty bitch these days. Wasn't she saner in previous seasons?

I love the use of “clams” here. I’ve only ever heard it used by players, but of course it works beautifully in this context, too. :)

Congrats, John (even if it is lower than last year)! I work for a tax-supported public entity. We can never get bonuses.

The things you think of during impeachment proceedings.
I'm avoiding them. ::)

Damn it to HELL, I started having an allergy attack a couple of hours ago and it won’t let up. Sneezing and watery eyes. It actually feels like there’s “something” way up in my nose or sinuses that’s irritated. And I can’t take anything for it till later because I don’t have anything here that won’t make me drowsy. (Rehearsal, don’tcha know.) DAMN.
-
Yes DR ELMORE Kate is a different person than she was....and it's not a improvement....b
-
It’s very unusual for this to happen suddenly in the middle of the day. Ordinarily I’d wake up knowing it’s an allergy day. Weird.
-
Yes DR ELMORE Kate has changed a lot - and not for the better.
Her behavior this season has bordered on the psychotic....not as much as Rhylee - but very close.
-
I am waiting on some documents in the mail in order to pay my taxes......

Hello, everyone.
-
Congrats to John G on his bonus. Most of my employers didn't give bonuses and NEVER that big. Of course, for the guys at the top it may have been a different story. Enjoy it!
-
BK's book sounds very interesting. Also the sort of thing that should be on paper for posterity. I'm glad that much of it could be pasted.
-
The banks were closed yesterday, but my rent check cleared this morning. Thank God that worry is now over.
I'm glad that worry is out of your hair.
-
I think those special sales kept the local dentists very happy.
I was in a meeting at work one day when someone offered me a piece of taffy. It pulled out one of my crowns in no time. A trip to the dentist was not on my agenda. I now pass. It's not worth the trouble.

DR JohnG, apropos your pop song writers and Broadway, Shelly Fabares' hit "Johnny Angel" was written by Lee Pockriss, who composed Earnest In Love and Tovarich.
I really loved his song "Playground in My Mind." (That was the one where the kid joins the singer with "My name is Michael, I've got a nickel, I've got a nickel, shiny and new."). When he died, the obits mostly led with his "Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weenie Yellow Polka Dot Bikini."

It's pretty clear why many people are doing their own returns.
"If you (or someone you know) will be reporting income of $69,000 or less on your 2019 personal income tax return, you may be able to electronically prepare and file your income tax returns for free."
-
Allergy-begone vibes to all who need them.
-
CPAs can't fight with free. People who just have social security, pension, and a lot of interest income are realizing they can do their returns themselves, now that for any people who don't have a business, deductions are irrelevant. Deductions tended to be where CPAs came in most handy, and when there are no deductions in a 1040, there's usually no IRS audit exposure.

"If you (or someone you know) will be reporting income of $69,000 or less on your 2019 personal income tax return, you may be able to electronically prepare and file your income tax returns for free."
This approach uses tax software available on the IRS website, I presume.
I've noticed a number of accountants now give you a quote before you ask them to do your return. A plus for clients and does rather keep accountants in check.
-
"I'd rather have 14.5% of him, the all of anybody else..."
Hmm, that needs some work.
-
They sucked me into the new filter scam..
Oh, that's scam, not scan.
That sounded like it could be fun at first, but I guess not.

Jeanne - It's just that deductions are usually the target for audits for people with 1040s. Unless someone gets income that the payer doesn't report to the IRS, the income is really all on the 1099s and W-2s.

I've been doing my taxes online for quite a few years, but I didn't realize that last year the 1040EZ was no longer an option! I was actually doing them late (I figure that since I get a refund, I wouldn't get a fine...and I didn't) and that's when I saw that the EZ option was no more. :P It was still fairly easy to do it all, but it was a bit of a shock.

Yes, I was thinking about unreported income, which I was told is a more serious problem than incorrect deductions.
-
Yes, the 1099s and W-2s make it pretty straightforward.
-
What other little gems can you pass on, Fred?
Earn less, pay less tax. :)
I've got a stone or three still in there that need to be pulverized or passed, though. I went on a new insurance plan as of January 1, so I have to get a whole new set of referrals to different specialists.
-
My dad keeps passing those stones, but he's 99.
-
Maybe getting used to passing stones toughens you up.
-
DR FJL luck with finding new doctors you like.

All the talk on the innernet of the SAG awards reunion made me bring back the "Hollywood Gown" series that stopped in 2013.

And speaking of a shock - "Hollywood Gown" is to the tune of Harriet Schock's "Hollywood Town" song from Manfred Mann Earth Band's "Angel Station" album.
BK and I had lunch with Harriet (and IIRC Joe Kolinski too) when I was in L.A. - the trip where BK and I went to see Michelle Pawk starring in "Los Otros" at the Mark Taper Forum.

I'm hoping the new plan will cover the pulverization route, which sounds horrible, but apparently make the stones tinier. They said the goal is that I don't have to go through what my dad had to do - but who can argue with 99 and still singing? No way I'll get near there, I think.
-
Although even during the Christmas carols when we were together holiday week in Florida, Dad's singing still sounded very Jewish, even when the lyrics were about Santa. Though even the Christmas songs WERE mostly by Jewish songwriters.

I remember some years ago where that song was used for a commercial, but they changed the lyrics. The original lines are:
It was an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today
But the commercial changed the first words to:
She wore an itsy, bitsy, teenie, weenie, yellow polka-dot bikini
That she wore for the first time today

Does anyone here have any advice about required signing up for Medicare when you are still fully employed with health benefits?
-
Sorry, if I did at one time I have forgotten it.
-
DR Vixmom is there anyone at your office who can answer this question?
-
Does anyone here have any advice about required signing up for Medicare when you are still fully employed with health benefits?
Vixmom, I read that you should start the process three months before your 65th birthday. I hadn't known that and didn't start it until maybe two months before and still got on it without a delay.
I also sought out and found an insurance agent who specializes in Medicare. He's very knowledgeable and charges no fee--he's paid by the insurance companies. We sat down face-to-face and he explained various plans. I HIGHLY recommend this. (You need someone for your area.) I also HIGHLY recommend that you investigate and consider a Medicare Advantage plan instead of original Medicare.
-
If said person plans to stay employed after age 65, then they should consult a Medicare specialist. I have excellent coverage with a Medicare Advantage plan, much better than many employer-paid plans.
-

I will have to finish the movie tomorrow, I guess. I'm beginning to fade. I will finish the story of this one man, Paul.

Back from a run-through. A bit rough with line calls and people not really giving the performances we've worked on in rehearsal, but simply struggling to get their lines out. And it didn't help that Doug was there to watch. I'd told him he could come this week, but I unfortunately assumed that he'd come tomorrow or just to the designer run-through. It certainly threw the cast off their game and so the run-through was not what it should have been and although he told everyone he liked it and that it looked good, I suspect he probably didn't much care for it. But who knows? We can only get it back to what it was pre-no scripts and build from there. Even rough, there are many affecting moments in the play and the staging, for my money, is very simple but effective.

This morning I will go to City Center to proofread the Exit Music for Mack & Mabel, and that will finish my current commitment to the production. The most embarrassing day will be Friday, when I hear at the orchestra reading what clams I didn't catch.

Hello, George.
-
Just when I think I have recovered from “the bug” i start feeling poorly again.
-
Perhaps it is just old age?
-
I wish they would make a movie of Fred and Skip’s musical.
-
Just when I think I have recovered from “the bug” i start feeling poorly again.
Oh, no!
-
I was just posting market seller (not product) reviews on Amazon.
-
Most of the items that I bought were new, so I copied and was just pasting the same phrase, "Item received quickly and in perfect, new condition as described. Thanks!"
-
But I was going on autopilot and accidentally pasted that phrase as a review for an item that was actually used...it was like new, but it was used. ::)
-
SPOO!! :o
-
;)
-
I must retire for the night.
-
Good night, George.
-
Good night, Tom. Hope you feel better quickly!
-
Well, I need to get to bed and get some sleep.
Have a good tomorrow, all!
