Well, you've read the notes, the notes were alarming, and now it is time for you to post until the alarming cows come home.
-
And the word of the day is: PERSISTENCE!
-
First post after BK.
-
Today, I'm taking the day off from work so that I can go to my parents' to
help move some furniture. My mom bought my dad a new easy chair (I think) and we have to move some stuff out of the way. Since the chair (or whatever) is being delivered sometime today, my mom wanted help today instead of Monday, even though that's a holiday and I get the day off anyway. Oh, well. It'll be fine. And she's making tacos for lunch, so that'll be good. :)
-
And now, I'm off to bed.
Have a good day, all!
-
Good morning
-
Happy Valentines Day, Sweetheart
-
Good morning, all!
-
Today is Stella's birthday. She is one year old.
-
And Happy Valentine's Day to one and all!
-
Today is the sitzprobe for Mack & Mabel. Before I go to rehearsal, I will stop at the pharmacy and pick up my daily meds.
-
It will be a long day, and I hope my walking is up to it.
-
Good morning, all.
-
Happy Valentine’s Day.
-
Can I have another hour of sleep?

At the rehearsal
-
Good morning, all.

Stella is only a year old?? She seemed at least that old the day she was climbing all over me. She’s one helluva kitty! :)

TOD
Practically nothing, sorry to say, but last night just to stare at something silly while eating, I watched an old DVD of Stephen King’s GRAVEYARD SHIFT. Oy! I’d never seen it, and I guess it was okay for what it was, but what it was isn’t much. An obvious story, once you’ve seen the first scene. And acting? Well, the “Maine” accents steal the show, and that’s not necessarily good news. Fine set design, though, in creating the creepiest, filthiest mill/factory ever.
-
Back to the show tonight. Weekend #3 of 5.
-
Last night we began a 1985 BBC version of Oliver Twist, with Eric Porter as Fagin. Each episode is 30 minutes, and there are 12 episodes. The cast is good, and this appears to be the only adaptation to cover nearly every incident and character in the original novel, which I read around 1974. Porter's Fagin is not as creepy as Alec Guinness in the wonderful 1948 David Lean film.
-
You did better than I did! :)

Happy Birthday, Stella!

Up until 4-5 years ago, JOLSON was my most popular one-person stage play. Since 1984, it had had many productions all over the USA.
Then, because of “political correctness,” those productions stopped. Indeed, some that were scheduled were even cancelled.
Since Al Jolson and the songs he made famous continue to remain popular, I’ve written a new one-person play that deals with the “World’s Greatest Entertainer,” incorporates his most celebrated songs, yet eliminates the primary element that made my original play “controversial”.
It centers on Larry Parks, who played Al Jolson in both THE JOLSON STORY and JOLSON SINGS AGAIN, and faced his own personal problems with “The Hollywood Blacklist”.
“LARRY PARKS aka: AL JOLSON” is available in both paperback and Kindle editions via Amazon and elsewhere. Performance rights are available.

Yesterday DR Jane wrote:
I am not as itchy as I was from the chemicals used today. Fortunately my lungs feel no worse than they have for the last 3 months since my cold.
DR Jennifer I expect you will appreciate that I do not have a headache.
That is good. This reminded me of something. Last week I needed some hairspray. But ended up having to do something that I don't think is very nice. I had to spray it in my hair in the store (even though it wasn't a sample). I just had to make sure that the smell wouldn't make me sick. Thankfully i bought the one that I sampled.
-
DR TCB did you get to hear the director's friend read the role? Was she actually better than your friend? I"m sure that nobody wants to make a fuss (especially anyone who is cast). But if the friend was pre-cast (but it wasn't said beforehand because they aren't allowed to do that) ... well that is just crappy. :(

Today is Stella's birthday. She is one year old.
Our granddaughter just might be sharing Stella's birthday ;)

Healthy vibes for baby & mother will be appreciated.

Happy Birthday Stella.

I understand the need to do that.

TCB thanks for the theater info. I agree with waiting to tell Tracy in person, if it isn't long before you see her.

Baby & mother are doing well.

Bryan said he will call once they are settled. We don't have photos or details yet. We can guess from the updates the approximate time of delivery but that is all.

Hello, everyone.

Easy delivery vibes to Jane's D-I-L and grandchild.

Congratulations, Granny Jane!

MEGA health vibes to Larry!

Re the alarms:
I turn all my devices off before I go to bed. I have enough trouble sleeping as it is. I also prefer an old-fashioned battery-operated alarm clock. When I lived in the East I'd get calls to my landline right next to my bed at 3 am. It happened repeatedly. Someone mistakenly had my number as a fax number. Once when it happened I answered and spoke to him. I don't know where in the world he was calling from, but he spoke sufficient English and I explained that this was NOT a fax line, it was a private residence and the phone was next to my bed. It didn't happen again. But usually I got the mechanical tone of a fax machine. I was lucky I was able to talk to him.
-
I would prefer that my computer and iPhone and iPad were not all connected. I don't know if there's any way you can keep the devices separate. One day I'll have to come up to speed on Apple stuff. Right now I have too much else on my plate.
-
Did I understand correctly that there's a tequila bar next to a ballroom and John G hadn't been there? Why do I have the impression that he would be expert in such things?

Congratulations to Jane and Keith!

I went to acupuncture today, then stopped for enchiladas. Enchiladas have become my new comfort food and I'm afraid I'm eating them too often. But they are so good!
-
Tonight I'l probably be watching PARTNERS IN CRIME ((Tommy and Tuppence). I've seen them all, of course, but I still enjoy them.
-
TTFN.

Easy delivery vibes to Jane's D-I-L and grandchild.
Thank you. I think it wasn't too bad. Our D-I-L just texted us she & the baby are doing great.

It is a fun series.

I am home, and I've fed the cats and myself. I'm very tired, but i predict our DR vixmom will have a wonderful time next Saturday at Mack & Mabel. I will be there for the talkback, so perhaps we can meet up after for some smackerels.
-
I am quite tired so once I wash up the kitty dishes, I am going to bed.
-
Annabelle says that Stella loved the birthday greetings. She won't talk to me, you know. She only talks Cat.
-
And Nursie is a grandma! How fantastic. When do we learn her exotic name?
-
And on that, I am signing off to wash some kitty dishes, stretch out on my bed with my babies, and watch some Downton Abbey.
-
And Nursie is a grandma! How fantastic. When do we learn her exotic name?
It is Freyja (Freya) as in the Norse goddesses.
-
I can't remember her middle name, unless they changed it. I will have to ask again :-[
-
Congrats DR Jane! So exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We turn our cell phones off at night at no longer have a phone in our bedroom. In the quiet of the night we can still hear the landline but it isn't as jarring & we don't have to go answer it.
-
With Alexa I have never missed a wake-up call though I know it is possible if the power goes out. We set our cell phones or clocks if we have a super early wake up call.
-
Congrats DR Jane! So exciting!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thank you Jennifer.

I heard and had to get online to say congrats!
-
That is sweet of you, thank you Fred.

I fear Bryan has fallen asleep ;D

babies?

I've done about 150 pages of fixes so far. Can't do anymore right now, but less than 100 pages to go for this set. The next set will go much faster.

We just had a wonderful video chat. It took awhile before they were in their new room. There is a couch for Bryan to sleep with his wife and baby. Kate looked good and said it was a fairly easy delivery for a first baby. It was heartwarming to see our son rocking his daughter.

Ha! There are many other tequila bars in town that I have been to. This just added to the number.

Don't be afraid. Welcome them with gusto!

The guest speaker for tonight's Planned Parenthood event was Armistead Maupin, and he was wonderful. He didn't read. He just spoke and then answered questions. But he was funny and serious and inspiring.
-
And it makes me want to read more of his books. He has a memoir out called Logical Family that sounds fascinating. It's about building your own family when your biological family treats you like crap.

I hope everyone had a good Valentine's Day!

It turned out I made the tarts for nothing, at least for nothing today. The dinner plans fell apart.

Oh, well. They're better as time goes by.

Re-Opening Vibes for DR CHAS SMITH.
Re-arranging the furniture vibes for DR GEORGE.
Thanks, Jrand! It had its moments, but we got done what we needed to. We didn't have tacos, though. Lasagna was the lunch, which was fine...and quite delish. ;D

Good night, Jane.

The show's over and I'm going home.

It was a good show tonight...except that I did screw up one sound cue and one light cue.

I set off both of them too early, but was able to fix it.
-
I guess I was away from the boards for a bit too long. ;)
-
But tomorrow will be PERFECT! ;D
-
Be back later!
-
Congratulations, Glam-ma Jane! Your family has been blessed with love.
You know, for a middle name, if she and Stella share a birthday, maybe they should share a name. Frejya Stella. Or Valentine for the day.
